Memori AU / All Rise : The whole bar night started off with the intent of having a little bit of fun to help Finn get over his recent breakup, but immediately turned south the moment someone from their college walked over to their table for the sole sake of getting a rise out of Finn. At first, he ignored it and put his head down...until things escalated into a full on riot in the bar. Murphy tried his absolute best to pull his friend away from the scene, but it was too late...Finn, in a fit of pure rage, caused thousands of dollars of property damage.

When the cops arrived, they misconstrued the entire situation, placing all the blame on Murphy for instigating the riot.

Weeks later, Murphy’s date in court arrived as the owners of the establishment sued him for the crime. Despite knowing he was wrongfully accused, Murphy decided to take the heat for Finn, but the lawyer prosecuting him sensed he was lying through his teeth.

“Ask me whatever you want-I’m not breaking,” Murphy said in abject defiance, looking his gorgeous opposition dead in the eye as he planted his feet firmly onto the ornate marble floor, unwilling to budge. The elegant woman gave him a piercing look, matching his stance and raised her chin up, gaining the higher ground.

“Protecting your friend is admirable, but we need to close this case so we can all go home. I’ll ask you again...if it wasn’t you, then who did start the riot?” She implored with lethal precision. Murphy, starting to sweat, glanced over into the audience and saw Finn wearing a resigned, defeated look on his face. ‘Do it, man...it’s okay.”, his expression read and with great reluctance, Murphy lifted up his hand and delivered judgement on Finn.

“That’s what I figured,” the prosecutor gathered, closing her file folder with a snap for emphasis. Murphy buried his face into his hands, feeling his knees buckle beneath him, and took several deep breaths to gain his composure. By the grace of god, he avoided whatever punishment was about to befall Finn.

“Finn Collins, I sentence you to two months of community service and fine you 18,000 dollars for property damage,” the Judge clapped his gavel down onto the mahogany table, making it official. On Finn’s way out, Murphy offered Finn a bevy of apologies, feeling incredibly useless. Finn hung his head in shame, not daring to look his friend in the eye.

Before Murphy had much chance to dwell on it, the prosecutor ambled her way in his direction, patting him on the shoulder.

“That was a gutsy thing you just did. Not many people would take the fall for someone else...I’m kind of impressed, actually. You went toe to toe with me for-” she looked up at the clock hanging on the wall behind them, “almost an hour. Most people I interrogate only last ten minutes, but you had stamina.”

Murphy’s long lashed eyes fluttered, completely thrown by her words and in a sheepish manner, rubbed at the back of his neck as it began to heat up.

“What’s your name again?” Murphy asked, wincing a little at his voice breaking.

“Emori Comrie,” Emori replied, her formal expression partially breaking at the sight of his flushed face. “I hope you have better luck in the future, John.”

As Emori walked out of the courtroom, sparks started going off inside Murphy, unable to contain them, and nearly bursting at the seams. His mind raced, pondering so many things, but the biggest thing on his mind?

Wondering if it was legally acceptable to ask her out on a date.

-the people I follow are always at the top. curating your experience™ is something people always tell you to do but it's so, so damn true lol. the people I follow in the dc fandom keep me fed with fantastic meta, especially, and without the small circle of mutuals from the 100 days (which I'm rewatching now) that show would not have been even a tenth as enjoyable to watch.

-the dcu fandom in particular has some really great fanart. you can see a very small sample of it reblogged in my dc fanart tag.

-see @emoridefensesquad @echopositivity @dailymemori to find the best of the best from the 100's fan content :P

a character that fandom has helped you appreciate

I replied to this one recently with tim drake and... yeah, tim drake lol. canon is always more influential in changing my mind about characters than fandom, so I really can't think of another example.
