tutor!akaashi
who even does studying on a saturday night? akaashi does, which means you have to too
you're in one of the study rooms at the campus library, which feels a little redundant since it's practically abandoned on a saturday night
"what act and scene is this line from?" akaashi asks, cooly. he's been quizzing you on king lear for the past three hours, making sure you knew could identify the passages for your midterm
"act three, scene two?" you guess but akaashi's eyes already tell you that you're wrong. "ugh, can we take a break, keiji? my brain is turning to mush!"
akaashi would argue that your brain was mush to begin with but there's no use continuing when you've already given up
there was one way he could motivate you to keep studying — it was for your own good really, you weren't smart enough to pass this exam just by winging it
but he remembers the bet he made with his friends earlier this week something about not having sex during the whole month. it was stupid but he knew he'd never hear the end of it from bokuto if he lost
akaashi supposes he could just eat you out while you study but nothing does the trick more than making you sit on his cock, making you read out his notes while you bounce in his lap...
it's not long before akaashi has you bent over the desk, skirt flipped up and panties pushed to the side. "come on, don't just think with your pussy, recite the line for me," he says, pulling you by the hair
"ahhh, 'when thou dost ask me blessing, i'll'—fuck, keiji!" you cry when he pulls out only to slam back into you.
a slap to your ass is what brings you back to reality. "'i'll...i'll kneel down and ask of thee forgiveness' uhhh, act five, scene three?" you answered, crying when akaashi's fingers circle your clit.
"look at that, she's finally using her little brain," akaashi coos, snapping his hips harder into you. "read the next one." he says, knowing this is the only way you'll pass
he can say it's for your benefit as much as he wants to but akaashi is just as guilty of thinking with his crotch, maybe even more so
akaashi only lets you cum when you've gone through all of the study guide and he rewards you by spilling his seed deep inside your womb and walking you to your dorm with his cum running down your leg
shitty bf!daishou
saturdays are meant for your girlfriend. taking her on dates and watching shows with her
but it's not saturday and you're not daishou's girlfriend, which is why he's technically not breaking any no nut november rules right now
his friends explicitly said that fucking your girl was off limits for the entire month
which is why he turned to you the first chance he got
"sugu!" the two of you barely made it past your door, with daishou pouncing on you the second he shut it behind him
now he's got you spread out on your floor, a hand wrapped around your throat
"shhh, i know, babe," he whispers, pace never letting up as he abuses your cunt. "you're gonna take all my cum this month, yeah? be my fuckin' cum dump?"
it's so sick and your heart breaks for mika, completely unaware that her boyfriend is balls deep in someone else—someone she calls a friend
but you nod anyway because for an entire month daishou's body will belong to you
mika will have to wonder about the faint smell of your perfume on his clothes, wondering why it smells so familiar
it's pathetic and cruel and so unlike you but it's what you want more than anything
"yes, yes, sugu! i want your cum," you gasp, nails running down his back "i'll take all of it, just give it to me, please!"
and daishou just loves the desperation, grunting a quick "that's my girl," before fucking you harder than ever
and as your eyes roll into the back of your head, and you feel the warmth of daishou's cum flooding your cunt, all that goes through your head is his voice saying "that's my girl," over and over

Love, as scientific experts say, can change the chemistry of your brain. Love, some romantics who write in the genre, say can happen as often as a clap of thunder in the storm. Love, as you know it, walked into the classroom of your fifth grade class and you feel your young heart fall instantly within 1/100th of a second when your eyes meet the most talkative boy in your class.
Sure, for the next four years, until you enter different high schools, you were inseparable. Taking naps, going to support each other’s sporting events, you name it, he was there for every win and you were there for his. It wasn’t until your middle school year was ending that you had to break the news to him up weren’t able to join him in at Fukurodani. He was devastated and he seemed to visibly deflate and poke around his bento.
“But it’s not like I’m going to be too far away, Bo,” you remind him. “You can always watch my games when I start the season in Hyogo. My mom went to Inarizaki too before moving here to Tokyo for university and she met my dad instantly and kicked off their love story…”
“Yeah, but it’s not the same! You’re gonna be 12+ hours away by bus even more so my walking…”
“The scouts saw me out perform everyone on the team this year even if we didn’t make it to the girls’ junior nationals…’m really sorry bokkun.”
That summer, before you packed up and left, you don’t let the fight you two had nearly three hours before you leave with your parents who would drop you off in another city, stop you from marching to his house in the pouring rain. You pounded on his door and when his older sister answered the door, she leans over her shoulder and you don’t wait for her to return with a towel. For once, you put your heart on the line and in true story book fashion, you bully your way into your best friend’s room:
“Bokuto Kotaru!”
He’s never heard you yet at him, but you at 14 years old knew how to get his attention without the yelling. He hit his growth spurt this year and is now at a comfortable height difference for you to reach up, cup his face and humble him with his first kiss being stolen by you.
“You’re insane,” he mumbles.
“Absolutely stark raving mad,” you jest back before hugging him. “Thought you should know I’ve been wanting to do that since we were ten.”
And so, you leave when he wishes you luck in Hyogo.
Almost a full three years later, you’re back in the city that bared and raised you. Tokyo was ever growing, ever expanding. It would be the same across the country in Hyogo. Sure you were a bit timid even in the past, however ever since your parents decided to split, you find yourself back in your hometown.
It's a weird feeling hearing your old friend in your new high school's gymnasium. Apparently, though you were studying at Nohebi (because they were still accepting transfer students right before the year had started), you happened to join a classmate to oversee her boyfriend's volleyball club training. That's when you see a few of the guys clad in ivory. The third team that were invited were a den of cats, and you seem to pick up this was a pre-pre season face off. Noehbi's vice captain nudges one of the others whom your girl friend from class waves toward and you are introduced to Daisho Suguru. His rival, the tall guy in red, still insults him, but you sort of laugh at their banter. However, your attention goes to the third young man clad in the ivory and gray practice uniform. Sure, you haven't seen each other in three years, but you can tell he sort of filled out: chest and torso was worked out on a weekly focus rotation; his legs were covered with compression leggings which only accentuated his...other assets; and oh my god, you realize he's walking toward you.
"Excuse me," you smile at Daisho and his-your-girl friend, and you respond when you know Bokuto's voice has changed to a little raspier one than before. "Bo?"
"YN?"
You both chuckle and you let Daisho make the call to have the first practice match be between Nekoma (red team you found out later) and Nohebi, begins. WInner of that match will square off with one of the five top aces in the year.
Hours later, you're seen walking in the opposite direction of your own home, reconnecting with the boy you stole your first kiss from at 14. You fill him in on your life, even your parents divorce, "so the judge agreed I was old enough to choose who and where I wanted to live, so I came back home...with my dad."
"Cool, but y'know, 'm sorry they split," Bokuto says, holding your hand and giving it a squeeze.
"Me too, but I'm glad they're living their own truths now," you reply, shyly combing a piece of your hair behind your ear. “I’ll be here through the end of our third year. So, I’ll be seeing you more I guess.”
He hums, nodding along.
“Once an old friend, always an old friend,” Bokuto beams.
You don’t bring up the time you literally gave him his first kiss, that memory could burn for all you care. Awkward and all, however that was three years ago and as his house comes to view, he asks you something a bit…sweet?
“Want to come in?”
You, who think nothing of it, agree, stepping across the threshold of the front door you’ve came through so many times. His house is lively with with sisters and even the eldest one now is finally expanding the family. Her sweet smile invites conversation, but thankfully after you had said your greetings, she understands her kid brother more than anyone else. The middle sisters are gushing over the latest sonograms of their eldest sibling while Bokuto chimes in with being named a godparent almost immediately.
“Well, if I make Koutaro a god parent, then,” his expecting sister glances at you. “I’d have to make you one too I guess.”
Your cheeks are burnt sunset orange when Bokuto pulls you away from the kitchen saying something about homework.
“They are as lively as ever…So, your one-san is expecting? That’s something I wasn’t expecting when you told me she was gonna come home for a few months and travel back I think before she gets too far along…You an uncle? That’s also great too,” you ramble a bit. You take an opportunity to see the achievements he made with being the ace for the volleyball clubs since your move, spotting the article framed of him and his near perfect posture for a pipeline spike.
“Bokuto,” your voice is gentle. “Why did you invite me inside?”
He places his things down at the corner of his bed before sitting on the edge of it.
“Because I missed you way more than I imagined.”
Considering you’re standing by his desk right now, you arch an eyebrow, but you shrug your shoulders.
“I’m sorry I didn’t write or call,” you confess. “I didn’t have enough time to ask for a computer at the time. I mean, I had tablets, sure, but we didn’t make it a point to trade social media.”
“Come here,” he holds your hand. You listen to him and walk toward him until you’re close enough he hugs you; a hand of yours rustles his hair. You chuckle slightly amused when he nuzzles his cheek against your torso.
“Affectionate as always,” he hears you say. His eyes light up and he chooses to ask you something a bit bolder.
“Mind if I do something?”
You shake your head before asking if he’s attempting to flirt with you (again).
“So what if I am,” Bokuto loves it when you tease him a bit. His lips find yours after he guides you to sit on his lap for a bit. There’s a smile you feel post him pecking your lips as he finally decides to take a chance for you both. For the boy who cares and emotes too much to find the person who inspired him to return after some time, having you return his affections meant the world to him.
So when future you had honed your skills in obtaining your degree in public relations, you stand in the press room with the rest of the rookie volleyball players from the Monster Generation, a sparkly stone shines on your finger when just a regular ace answers a question from the press.

Chapter Thirteen
Sakanoshita Market
Pairing: Osamu x Fem!Reader
previous | next | missing heiress
A few days later, Osamu and Atsumu finally take you back to the casino after deeming it safe from other members. You meet with Kita at a private bar in the back of the casino on the first floor. He's just as you remember him when he talked to Aoi, quiet and respectful yet still has a bit of an intimidating look in his eyes. However, he seems quite harmless, especially considering Osamu brought you to him. But quite possibly your favorite part about Kita is that he explains way more to you than Osamu and Atsumu have.
The two brothers sit nearby listening but leave the two of you to talk. Kita opens up a piece of paper that looks more like a scroll to you that seems to show some kind of hierarchy.
"I sketched this quickly in the hopes that it'll help explain what I'm going to say. As you can see, it shows the hierarchy of different positions held in our syndicate." He then points to the bottom tier. "Down here there are multiple groups of children or kobun. Osamu and Atsumu are kobun and so are Suna and Aran who you've met before as well."
"Each group of kobun is supervised by a big brother or, kyodai. For example, I am one of these," he tells you as he points to the second tier. "Another kyodai you met is Daichi and one of his kobun is Asahi. Does this make sense?"
"I think so," you nod respectfully as you look at the third tier. "So who is your boss then?"
"The second in command or, waka gashira," he explains. "This was Kyoomi Sakusa up until recently after an incident."
"Did something happen to him?"
"No," he shakes his head, "but something happened to the supreme boss," he replies as he points to the fourth tier, the highest on the list, "Akira Sakusa."
"And am I right to assume that the two of them are related?" you question. "I mean, is that why you're explaining all of this to me?"
You notice in the corner of your eye how Osamu's back straightens up after you ask the question, but you ignore it.
"Yes," Kita nods. "Akira was murdered by the third in command. You may have seen me with him the other day when you were first here. He goes by the name Suguru Daisho."
"I remember that," you reply. "But, respectfully, what does that have to do with me? Do you plan on doing something that involves me?"
Once more, he nods. "My only plan is protecting the rightful heirs to the boss."
"Heirs?" you reiterate. "There's more than one?"
"Akira Sakusa was your biological father, Y/N. That means Kyoomi Sakusa is also your biological brother."
As he talks, your brain begins to spin. You never once met your father but this? Could this be why your mother never told you anything about him? You didn't really even think he mattered anymore, but now you're inheriting a freaking gang?!
"Our job is to get you and Kiyoomi to meet without alerting Daisho that we've found you. He's out for the two of you next as rightful heirs," he finally finishes, alerting the other two they can now join the conversation.
"Daisho won't be as easily fooled as Karasuno was the other day," Atsumu adds. "Daisho knows what you look like."
The group then begins to spitball ideas.
"We could try disguising you as someone else..." Atsumu thinks aloud. "Or just keep up the pretense that you're our sister. Maybe dye your hair or somethin', I dunno."
"I think we should distract him. I'm guessing the reason we're going through all of this is because Daisho hardly ever leaves Kiyoomi's side, right?"
"Yes," Kita responds, "but how do you plan on distracting him?"
"By using Daichi's and his kobun as bait."
The three of them listen to your idea to hear you out. Then, once you finish, Osamu and Atsumu look to Kita for approval.
"It might work," he hums. "I say we'll give it a go."
"Then let's begin now," Atsumu chimes in. "I know where the Karasuno group usually hangs out. We can start phase one there."
ATSUMU'S P.O.V.
I head towards the front door of the casino after our discussion on the details of Y/N's plan, but when I hear my brother call out to me I turn around instead. I watch as he practically stomps over to me, Y/N following loyally behind him.
"Do you really agree with this plan?" Osamu grumbles.
"It's fine," I reply as I smile over at Y/N. "She's right, it'll get Daisho out of our way for us to see Sakusa."
"We're abandoning the plan the second she's in danger, okay?" he snaps back, ignoring everything I just said.
"Fine," I agree as I wave my hand in front of me to diffuse the tension, "but she'll be with you the whole time so if she's in danger it'll be your fault, not mine."
I then walk off with Y/N just behind me. It takes Osamu a second to think, but he joins up soon enough. The three of us then drive to Karasuno's hangout, a small convenience store in the middle of town.
"You two ready?" I ask, eyeing them in the rearview mirror. However, I only see Osamu sitting in the back. Y/N is already out of the car and has closed the door behind her. She better not get ahead of herself or we could be in serious trouble. It's a risky move to expose her to the others this early in time, after all.
I then notice my brother watching her waiting for us to join. "She'll be fine. She's more than capable of watching herself, you know. Besides, if you baby her too much she'll just end up pushin' ya away."
"It's our job to make sure she doesn't end up on the wrong end of a gun, 'Tsumu," he scoffs back as if I need reminding of what we're here for.
"I know that but we've gotta let her make her own decisions or she might just run towards said gun. She did just find out about her family," I whisper.
"Yeah," he nods as he looks over at me. I can still see the sting of regret in his eyes. None of this was supposed to happen this way. We were going to take Daisho out before Y/N found out anything. 'Samu was so looking forward to taking her out on a real date... "I know, let's just get this over with already."
The two of us step out of the car and walk around to the curb where Y/N is waiting. I take a deep breath and mentally prepare myself to carry the team on this whole operation.

A warrior with scales lining along the vambraces that protected his forearms, a gleaming dark emerald that blended easily into obsidian sheened metal. The knight’s helmet was tucked underneath an arm with a cunning smile spread across his lips as he tilted his head lower towards his lover’s.
“Darling, why do you keep leaning away?” His words came off of his lips like a purr, nose bumping against your cheek as you turned away from him in a huff. “I’m going away for a few days and you’re acting so cold.”
You’re dressed in your best clothes; waist cinched tightly and ribbons hanging from the loose ends of your sleeves. There was a heat spreading along your cheeks as he stole his lips against the curve of your ear and you’re left leaning into him.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” you murmured against his lips, hands tracing against the warming suit of armor, “you’ll be back before you know it.”
Daishou’s horse was a beast of a thing, standing well over the both of you with the metal armor on its head glinting in the sunlight of the early morning. She was kinder than most of the horses you’d worked with, and pressing a hand to her chin resulted in her jerking her head for you to scratch somewhere she desired.
“I think she likes you more than me,” Daishou grumbled crossly, hand running idly on her back where her coat was peeking out from underneath her saddle, “which is unfair because I’m the one that feeds her and rides her.”
“You forget that I’m the one that tends to her coat and that feeds her when you’re too tired to.” Your comment came out in a light hearted tone, hands finding their way from the horse that had taken such good care of your lover, to your lover himself. Your touch seemed to soothe the lines from his face that you were always warning him would appear if he kept frowning like he did.
He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “I’m on the eve of battle and you’re telling me my steed doesn’t like me as much as she likes you?”
A hand cupped his cheek gingerly, thumb brushing along the curve of it. “Yes, darling, I am.”
Daishou hadn’t given you a response, instead pressing his lips against the crown of your head gently. The pair of you hated this part the most—the goodbye. Often the two of you tried to not draw it out any further, but most often you felt like one half of an incomplete pair when he was gone. More likely was the fact that you would be the last pair at the gates of the castle before Daishou would have to ride as hard as his steed would allow to catch up with the rest of the soldiers.
“I’ll miss you most fervently,” he whispered against the top of your head, “don’t forget me when I’m gone.”
“Never.”
Daishou rode off shortly after that, leaving you with a kiss on the lips. His silhouette was a thing of majesty and you were proud of the lover you’d chosen, proud of how far the two of you had come since you were just teenagers in love. Despite all that you had gone through—mostly the inability for your lover to communicate with you properly, of which you’d quickly told him was not going to be an option—the two of you had mainly been focusing on if you should have the wedding in the spring or in the summer.
If only he had made it through the winter for you to have decided it together.
Daishou’s cape was returned to you the first day it snowed that winter, and you had held it together enough for every soldier to leave your home before you allowed yourself to break down crying over the loss of a love that had felt like it barely began.
Tumblr media
“I feel like,” you murmured your words into the corner of his smile, “we’ve met before.”
Daishou was resting on the couch at this point, legs sprawled in front of him and sock-covered feet resting on the coffee table gingerly. The television was playing some commercial in lieu of a reality show the pair of you had been binging the last few weeks—a shitty cop show that was definitely dramaticized but everytime you said you’d drop the show, you came back for some reason.
His arm is curled around your shoulders, head propped against yours lightly so he can watch the show without straining his neck. “What do you mean?”
You huffed, not wanting to explain yourself as you push up, looking away from the Empire commercial to look at him in his eyes. “Like. You don’t feel it? Sometimes when we talk, it’s like– I get this feeling like I’ve known you my whole life, like I could talk to you forever.”
“Maybe we were lovers once,” he started, pressing his lips against your nose and then your cheek, “or maybe, we were enemies.”
He gave you a wide-eyed expression, as if the thought were an incomprehensible one, before it dissolved into chuckles that made him clutch at his sides. Before long you were joining him, laughter loud and from the chest as you pushed him away from you time and time again to try and quell the bubbling giggles that threatened to spill from your mouth.
“Either way,” you whispered against his lips when the pair of you had finally gotten yourselves together, “I love you and I’m glad we met in this life.”
“Me, too. Though, I’d love you in any life, regardless.”

Social Media Apologies
This is my first fic with the Haikyuu Headquarters server! And it's my first Daishou fic, as much as I love that snake bastard!! This month's SFW prompt was "meet ugly" so this is about Daishou serving a ball into reader's face which leads to him groveling on social media. Honestly, I hope you guys like this!! Here's the link to the masterlist!
-
For years, I had a string of bad luck that seemed to follow me around no matter where I went or how I acted. My parents cited bad karma or a curse placed upon me when I was a child. I simply called it life being an asshole. When I gained the job as the Sendai Frogs trainer, I knew the dangers of what I was getting into. Volleyballs were constantly flying across the gym and it wasn’t uncommon for someone to catch a spiked ball to the face.
For the most part, I had managed to avoid any strays that came my way, whether it be me blocking the hit or the players that I worked with saving my ass.
That changed the day that we played Yotsuya Motor Spirits. Admittedly, I wasn’t expecting the day to be anything special, especially since Kyotani, Koganegawa, and Kei had finally started working as a team, with their fellow players supporting their talents both as a trio and separately.
“Hey, don’t let them in your head, okay, Kyo? And Tsukki, please don’t rile them up too much. I really don’t want to deal with their coach coming to rip our heads off cause you want to be a dick.” I encouraged, crossing my arms over my chest. The two rolled their eyes at my usual pep talk then mumbled their agreement, turning towards their opponents. Kanji bounced eagerly in front of me and asked, “What about me?”
“Just take it slow, okay? Don’t rush your sets,I know you can do this.” I replied, patting him on the shoulder. He grinned at my words of wisdom and they soon walked away to line up, prepared to take their stances on the court. The first set passed without anything too out of the ordinary, with snide comments and smug grins exchanged between the net.
It was the second set that seemed to make the match all the more interesting.
Daishou Suguru, an outside hitter from the Spirits, was the man responsible for the shift of the atmosphere. I was returning from the trainer’s room with a bag of supplies, knowing that at the next timeout, Tsukishima and Kanji would need tape for their fingers. Along with that, our libero would likely want his knee braced better, due to an old injury.
I was walking on the corner of the court when the whistle blew and Daishou took his stance for his serve. I glanced up for a brief second to see who would take on the receive, only to realize that the ball was hurtling towards my face at a pace much too fast for me to hide from. Shouts and gasps filled the stadium as I slammed to the floor. Blurry faces crowded around me and I faintly acknowledged the fact that my three friends were looming over me, waving their hands in front of my face.
“Hey, hey, easy. Just lay back, okay?” Kei encouraged, pressing a gentle hand against my shoulder. I groaned at the pain in my head and nose then mumbled, “Hurts. It hurts. What the hell happened?” Kyotani masked his snarl and bit out, “Bastard snake nailed you in the face with a serve. Might wanna hold still, Coach thinks you have a concussion and a broken nose.”
“You realize that I can hear you, right? It’s not like I meant to hit them. I was shooting for a service ace, give me a break.” Daishou replied, rolling his eyes.
“Shit, this hurts.” I grumbled as Tsukki pressed a wad of tissues under my nose. Daishou knelt beside me and murmured, “Hey, I’m really sorry about hitting you in the face. I didn’t see you there.”
“I’m kinda pissed that you serve bad enough to hit someone on the sidelines.” I snapped, pushing myself up. Kogane’s eyes widened at my bitter tone and harsh words, then Daishou spat, “You were walking in front of the barrier. You should have enough brains to know to walk behind it.”
I jerked my head towards the wing spiker, groaning at the sharp jab of pain and bit out, “Maybe you should learn how to serve properly then. If your serves are that high, then you’re not doing something right.” Kyotani helped me to my feet then I heard the snake hiss, “Bitch just needs to learn where to stand during a game.”
An argument between Tsukishima and Daishou began to rise with Kogane attempting to coax his teammate out of the fight. Kyotani braced against me then grumbled, “You never know when to stop talking, do you?” I let out a bitter laugh and mumbled, “He’s the one who will have to deal with the backlash. And I’m the one with a broken nose!”
He patted me on the shoulder and replied, “I’ve learned that you usually get screwed by what you say in the end.” He was right but shit, I was really hoping that I would escape any trouble that followed.
-
I, in fact, did not escape the results of Wednesday’s game. Kyotani, Kogane, and Kei came to visit me in the trainer’s room on Saturday, my first day back from my concussion, and they showed me the results of my broken nose and bitter words towards Daishou.
“Sendai Frogs’ Trainer and Motor Spirits’ Wing Spiker in the midst of a social media battle? Daishou Suguru has gone to social media to publicly apologize to the Sendai Frogs’ trainer after a stray serve broke the trainer’s nose and left them with a concussion. As of right now, the Sendai Frogs have not addressed the situation. The wing spiker seems to be desperate for a response and his fans seem irritated with the lack of acceptance from the trainer. ” Kei read off, raising an eyebrow in my direction. I scoffed at the ridiculous headline then snapped the first aid kit shut as I bit out, “Give me a break. He’s the one who won’t stop tagging me in his stupid apology. I mean, why should I accept his apology twice?”
“Because it’s good publicity and if you don’t accept on social media without a single ounce of sarcasm in it, I think you’ll be finding a new job.” our PR manager answered, entering the room. We twisted at the statement and I snapped, “What are you talking about? I could be fired over this?”
“Not my idea but the Motor Spirits’ manager is pissed that you’re not replying to him publicly so the fans of his team say that you’re being a stuck up bitch.” she replied, crossing her arms over her chest. I groaned and flung myself on the trainer’s bed, whining, “This isn’t fair! I’m the one with the broken nose and he’s the one gaining the sympathy? Ugh! Fine, I’ll tweet him now.”
Yanking out my phone, I opened the Twitter app and constructed a tweet, “Daishou-san, I accept your apology. I’m sorry for taking so long to accept publicly.” I clicked send on the public message and grumbled to myself as Kei chirped, “You think the public will leave your little feud at that?” A simple chime followed his question and I glanced down, surprised to see that Daishou had privately messaged me.
“How about dinner on me? I’d really like to make it up to you.” Kei blinked in surprise at the statement then laughed, “Are you going to accept? It’s been a while since you’ve been on a date. I mean, people already think you guys are a thing.”
“Seriously?! Who asked you anyway? Hmm. I mean, I guess I could go out with him?” I asked, tapping my chin. My best friends continued to laugh as I thought over Daishou’s offer then mumbled, “I guess it can’t get worse than it already is.” Typing a quick response, I hovered over the send message then Kyotani huffed, pushing the button himself. We loom over the phone screen, waiting for his response, then a new chat appears with an address linked and a simple, “Tonight, 9 pm. I’ll see you there.” I tilted my head back then asked, “What am I thinking?”
“You need a boyfriend, that’s what you’re thinking.” Kei supplied, patting me on the back. I came to a stand then stated, “I guess I should go get ready for this date, then.”
“You’re gonna have a great time!” Kanji called out, laughter following me out.
9 pm came surprisingly slow, likely due to my repeated glances at my watch. The ramen shop was actually a ten minute drive from my apartment and I often frequented it during the weekends. I was thankful for the familiarity and lowkey manner of the shop. It would provide some comfort to me.
Bowing briefly at the shop owner, I glanced around and spotted Daishou in the corner. He smiled at my appearance then pulled out the stool across from him. I settled down on the seat and he admitted, “I’m not going to lie, I kind of thought you weren’t going to show up.” I laughed at his statement then replied, “I wasn’t sure if you were going to come. Tsukki definitely wasn’t confident in you showing up.”
“Well, Four Eyes is best buds with Kuroo and that cat hasn’t liked me since middle school. You look beautiful by the way. I really am sorry about breaking your nose and giving you a concussion.” he remarked, scratching the back of his neck. I pressed a gentle finger to the bridge of my nose then stated, “Don’t worry about it. Neither of us could really do anything about this. You’re a persistent asshole, though. Why did you ask me out for dinner?”
He paused at the question and answered, “I thought you were pretty. And I like that you didn’t let me be an asshole. At least, not without a fight.” I laughed, shaking his head, and chirped, “You thought I was hot while I was being a bitch? Are you a masochist or something?”
“More of a sadist, if I’m being honest.” he blurted out, playing with my fingers. My eyes widened at his bluntness then he leaned forward with a remark, “But that can wait until after dinner. What would you like?”
We glanced over the menu and I found myself studying Daishou. His hair was relatively short, barely hanging on his forehead and it looked soft until the ramen shop’s lights. Green eyes flickered back and forth over the options and my gaze continued down to petal pink lips. His tongue flicked out and I’m surprised to see that he has a tongue ring, with fangs in place of normal canines.
“Snake bastard… I thought Kyotani was being a dick, not being serious.” I mumbled, reaching to cup his face. He startled at the sudden touch and his eyebrows furrowed together, asking, “Can I help you with something?”
“Fangs… you have fangs.” I breathed, focused on his mouth. He laughed at the awe in my voice then replied, “I was born with them. I got my tongue pierced right after college on a bet.” He wiggled his tongue afterwards and returned his attention to the menu as the server approached our table.
“Hello! What can I get for you?” I turned with a smile as I gave my order then dropped my hand away from Daishou’s face so he could answer. Once she wrote down our selected meals, she gave a small bow and informed us that our food would soon be out.
“I’m sorry. You must think that I’m a crazy person for grabbing your face like that.” I apologized, burying my face in my hands. He laughed at my embarrassment and tugged my hands down before he chimed, “It’s okay, I thought it was cute. Honestly, a lot of people are turned off by the fangs. Something about how it’ll hurt if I kiss them. So it’s nice to have someone fascinated by them.”
“I really like it actually. It looks really good.” I murmured, a shy smile stretching across my face. He smiled in return then asked, “So how did you end up as the trainer for the Frogs?” I let out a laugh and answered, “I used to go to Aoba Johnson with Kentarou and went to college with Tsuki. When they joined the Frogs, I heard they were hiring an athletic trainer so I put in an app. Now I’m here and stuck with three blond idiots.”
“Hey I’m not an idiot!” a growl interrupted, jerking our attention to the table behind us. Three men sat there with awful disguises and I could feel my fury beginning to bubble.
“What the hell are you three doing here?” I spat, jerking out of my seat. Daishou started at Kyotani, Kanji, and Kei, the two glaring at Kentarou for blowing their cover.
“Idiot! They haven’t even had dinner yet and now they know we’re here!” Kei hissed, slapping his teammate on the shoulder. I slammed my hands on their table then demanded, “Why are you here?! Which one of you morons thought of this bright idea?”
“Group effort?” Kogane supplied, ducking his head to avoid my glare. Our server returned with our food, with concern across her face then Daishou stated, “Could we get our food to go? Please? We had something come up and can’t stay to eat.” Kei turned with a bitter expression then asked, “Do you think that I would let you go on a date with him by yourself?”
“Yes! I’m a grown adult and I figured you would at least trust me enough to watch over myself! Daishou-san, I am so sorry for this! I didn’t think these three would be this dumb. My apartment isn’t too far from here if you’re still wanting to go on this date?” I asked, turning my attention back to the wing spiker.
He gave a grin and answered, “I would love to. I’ve already paid so I’m ready to go when you are.” The trio began to protest as we walked out of the shop and I shot a glare over my shoulder, hissing, “You follow us and I will end you.” They settled back in their chairs and sighed, shaking their heads.
I turned back to Daishou and he wrapped an arm around my waist, murmuring, “I think we make a pretty amazing couple, what do you think?” I leaned into his side and said, “I think you’re right.”

Day 22
Title: Broken Wings
Note: This is an Angel!AU and there is a character death in this one. I really enjoyed writing this one, the idea came to me out of nowhere. I almost teared up at the end. If you are sensitive about the afterlife and bleak darkness, please skip this!
˜”*°•.˜”*°•.•°*”˜.•°*”˜
“And remember, you must never, NEVER fall for a human.”
“Why not?”
“Humans are dangerous, disgusting, greedy little creatures. If they ever touch your wings or your heart, your wings will break off and you’ll fall to Earth, just like your brothers and sisters did. None of them have ever survived the fall and they end up in the darkness for eternity.”
“What if they can’t help it?” Daishou Suguru asked. As an angel himself, he was naturally one of the ones that would never ask or question his superior’s motives. Debonair, charismatic, everyone liked him. He was one of the top angels, so many of the angels came to him for wisdom, even though he denied them politely. It was amazing the power an angel had, especially if they weren’t archangels.
His superior looked over at him, frowning slightly. Never had Daishou stepped out of line once, so what did it hurt to tell him the truth? “Meet me in my office.”
The other angels were glancing between their superior and Daishou, afraid that he had stepped on a live wire. No matter, he was brave enough to put on a mask. However, he was worried about it. Had he done something wrong? Entering the office, he looked around but couldn’t seem to focus on one thing as he sat across his superior.
The other angel brought out a glowing white sheet of paper and threw it out of the door. “Can you tell me what that was?”
Daishou tried to think of an idea before shaking his head slightly. “No, sir.”
“You’re the best angel in this section. I’m promoting you to guardian angel. There’s someone I want you to protect.” He started going through his notebook, squinting a bit as he searched for a name.
Daishou cleared his throat. “With all due respect, sir, what does this have to do with my question earlier?”
“Everything. Once you start looking after the humans, you’ll realize why it’s dangerous to fall for them. You’ll harbor the same feelings we do. We don’t necessarily hate them; however, there are some things that they do that are very...questionable. Some are smarter than they look, still, it’s better for you to see for yourself. Your promotion will start in two consecutive days. Any questions?”
“What’s the name of my human?”
“Y/N L/N.” The superior angel had turned a contraption around, showing Daishou a picture of Y/N who was smiling at something at her side. Her smile was genuine and she didn’t even know that there was a picture being taken of her. Something about her made Daishou smile softly. Already he loved her and would protect her until it was time for her to join heaven.
What he didn’t know is that he would be doing exactly what everyone had warned him not to do.
~
As time went on (well, at least for a mortal like Y/N), she found herself going through heartbreaks and invisible injuries, never physical harms though. She had protected herself from those, but her mentality after her last heartbreak was “no one’s ever going to love me”.
Daishou was able to tap into some of her thoughts as her guardian angel. He could only stand in front of her as she blankly walked through the streets. He whispered, “Oh darling, how I wish I was actually with you right now.” The most he could do for her was touch her forehead gently and fly away, his face screwed into a frown.
Y/N, the next day, had felt better and even laughed a bit when she was watching one of her favorite shows. Daishou had taken a seat in the chair next to the sofa she was sitting on, staring at the TV with disgust. “This stuff is what you humans like to see?” But after watching her face, he started smiling as well. “As long as you’re happy, so am I.”
Every step Y/N took from that day on, Daishou was right next to her, invisible to human eyes. All of the angels knew he had been promoted to guardian angel, nevertheless at seeing his expression with her, they couldn’t help but feel a twinge of fear. What if Daishou fell in love with her?
At night, when he was staring down at her, making sure she didn’t get nightmares, one of the younger angels asked him, “Are you in love with her?”
“No! That’s forbidden, I can’t fall in love with her. ” Daishou said. “I just like seeing her be happy.”
“Oh. Isn’t that a human emotion?”
“No, it applies to all creatures with their own minds.”
The other angel left, joining his brothers as Daishou stared down at Y/N with a gentle smile on his face. He sensed her getting a nightmare and quickly flew down to enter her bedroom. Brushing her hair behind her ear softly, he tapped her forehead, the bad dreams slowly shifting into peaceful ones and calming her down. He gazed at her, something twisting inside of him. “I don’t know what you’re doing to me….I don’t want to like it…” With a lingering press of his lips on her head, he flew back up to his original place.
Y/N had smiled in her sleep as she turned over, resting well at last.
~
While Y/N was happy in her life, Daishou was losing energy slowly. It shouldn’t be happening. The other guardian angels had lived through millenials of humans, protecting them. Why was he already getting weak? Was he not good enough for his job?
He flew down to Y/N for his daily checkup, but he found his flight wobbly, compared to yesterday’s. He got there safely, did his job and went back up to heaven. Going to his chambers, he slammed the door shut, leaning against it as he tried to catch his breath. Daishou tried to extend his wings, wincing through the whole process. He reached out for one of his wing feathers, pulling it out. He expected a white feather, but seeing as there was no pain, his expectations should not have been so high.
A black feather the color of coal appeared, disintegrating in his hand. Oh my God, no, this can’t be happening. No, this can’t be happening. I told myself I wouldn’t fall in love, why are my wings dying…?
He had fallen in love. Not with anyone, with Y/N L/N, the girl he had sworn to protect.
~
Something was wrong the very next day. Daishou could feel it and he had tried so hard not to strain his wings. However, it had involved Y/N so there was nothing more he could do other than go after her.
Stretching his almost dead wings out, he could cry at the sight of them but he didn’t. The feeling came back. She was in mortal peril, making him set off right away. As he sped along, trying to find her, he saw a car hurling itself towards her and she didn’t notice. She already looked at both sides of the streets so she thought she was safe.
“If there is one thing you cannot do as a guardian angel who may or may not be in love with the one to be protected, it is becoming the thing between their life and death. You may save them, but you will end up dying.”
That is what his superior told him when he had brought the question up. Daishou looked desperately at the car, trying to get it to stop and back at Y/N, who had no idea what was going on and back up at the heavens.
Would he risk his own immortal life for a simple human or would he live with that guilt for the rest of his life?
There’s no way I’m letting her die.
Daishou flew over to her, pushing her out of the car’s way and saving her. He tried to fly back up to the heavens in search of medical treatment. Surely there was a way to fix his state of being. He had underestimated how fast the procedure worked. Halfway up to the sky, one of his wings broke off, making him flap with only one and starting to fall to the floor.
His screams were something Y/N could feel and it brought a shiver up her spine. She didn’t know why, but she would never realize what had happened on the day that she narrowly escaped death. The person that truly loved her sacrificed himself for her.
As he lied on the floor, staring at the sky, his wings were stretched out, blacker than any night. He tried to reach out for the sky, a genuine smile on his face. No one could save him now. His last act had been saving her. Tears welled up in his eyes, something unfamiliar to him. He whispered, “As long as you’re alive…”
With those words, Daishou went limp and faded away moments later. No one, except the angels, would notice. He’d be another angel marked down as insubordinate and stubborn, a devoted human lover.
His last sacrifice, all for her.
I don’t know where I’m going, but as long as you’re safe and sound, I’ll be okay.

Daishō Suguru: Kitten
Fandom: Haikyuu!! — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: angsty, fluff
• Being best friends doesn’t mean you’re gonna fall for that cliché trope, but the Tokyo Representative Playoffs bring that whole facade crashing down. For both of you.
Warnings: mature language, 3k? 😬
>>>>——————————>
Tumblr media
Knowing Daishō was ultimately a blessing in life, he's an incredible companion to those he cares about (like his teammates) and intimate people in his life.
As one of his closest friends, that included you, and as one of his closest friends it meant you saw the rougher edges of his personality too. It was uncountable how many times you'd been roped into his cunning antics, and how many you'd gotten him out of. You don't hang around Daishō Suguru without picking up a few tricks.
Then there were the 'feelings' side of your relationship, it'd be suspicious to be involved like the two of you were for the thought and rumours not to arise. And they did, for you at least.
However you'd given up on the pointless trope of falling for your best friend the moment he'd told you of his crush on Yamaka Mika. It was obvious to anyone, purely by the way he looked at her - Daishō truly liked her, why compete with that?
Hence maturely, you moved on before inevitably being subject to his romantic and confused ranting once they'd begun a relationship since you're 'his person' and all.
Then of course, when they'd broken up you'd been needed to offer support when he'd broke down and replayed it all, with you deadpan sitting on his bed listening to his frustration and heartbreak as he paced up and down his room burning a trail into his flooring. A simple nod or hum was offered as acknowledgment, choosing to speak more once he'd paused until he went off again - but he'd do the same (if not more) for you without hesitation.
The situation wasn't ideal, especially 2 months before the Spring High Representative Playoffs, and the moment you'd caught Nekomas' scheming Captain in your peripheral you knew Daishōs single status would be dragged up.
"Did you ever get over Mika-chan dumping you? Are you sure you're gonna be able to play this next match? You must be pretty hurt."
"Wait, what?! I wasn't dumped! I was the one who dumped her!"
A disapproving glare was sent Daishōs' way, knowing that to be entirely false but you sighed painfully before swiftly intervening.
"Tetsurō, c'mon."
Kuroo spared you a softening glance, he would've smiled since the two of you were considered friends by this point, but Nohebi had riled up his team too much for that.
"Your snake-bastard started it."
"I know, but I'm looking forward to this match so let's make it a good one alright?" A warning glare was sent to Daishō who held his hands up in surrender, tongue darting across his lips leaving you clamping his shoulder forcing him into submission.
"Ah- 'kay! Fine."
Nekomas' Captain was amused, delighted smirk growing slightly when he switched his attention from Suguru to you. "Anything for you, kitten."
"Thank you, I appreciate your cooperation Captain~"
The teams' parted ways with intriguing words from Lev and Yaku, Daishō immediately pulling you to the side when he had the chance, having been somewhat snappy since the recent conversation. Kuroo probably got under his skin.
"What was that?!" It was hissed out, whisper yelled in urgency with his grip remaining gentle on your wrist from where he'd tugged you aside.
"What was what?"
"Um? 'Tetsurō' for a start? Then that scheming bastard called you 'kitten', and you decided to flirt back?"
There was underlying vulnerability lingering despite him trying to be stern, the reason only eliciting a bemused giggle from your lips.
"Yeah so? I'm single, and Kuroo is attractive, I'm allowed to have fun."
It was silent for a second, Sugurus' grip sliding from your skin as he'd looked away from you, his answer leaving a nasty taste on your tongue.
"Yeah just, not with him."
"Oh? Don't start Daishō. I've never berated your feelings for Mika-chan, so you have no right to tell me what I can or can't do with Kuroo."
"No but I—"
"But nothing. Good luck in the game, I'm with you, as always."
It didn't get any better with the match between Nekoma and Nohebi fast approaching and Kuroo having sought your companionship across the court during the warm ups regardless of the fact you were his enemy.
"Don't hold it against me if Nekoma win."
"I won't need to, Nohebi will kick your cute fluffy tails~" Came your quick clap back, proudly observing your team on the court with Kuroo playfully knocking your arm with his own.
"Hm, sounds fun. It's good to see you again actually, Nohebi are lucky to have you as their manager y'know."
"I hope so, I'm lucky to have them too. They're like... my second family."
"I understand that, so good luck kitten. And thanks for calling us cute."
"You too. And I didn't call— I meant like— whatever Tetsurō!" He walked backwards with a flashing grin and mocking salute heading back to his team, yourself exasperatedly groaning whilst Daishō slammed his bottle down beside you with a huff.
"Hey? Direct whatever is going on with you toward winning would ya?"
"Oh you bet."
———
It wasn't until after their match did you get closer to a reasonable answer, congratulating Kuroo and his team as they'd passed you prior to coming face to face with a heartbroken Captain. Suguru put on a brave facade for his team, but you were the one to always read him like a book.
"We lost..." His ghosting statement echoed in the empty hallway, acting as acknowledgment to your familiar presence, no matter how quiet he'd intended it to be.
"We did, but that doesn't mean you weren't incredible Suguru. Don't forget that, you're talented as Hell." Your voice was confident yet comforting, Daishō shaking his head with eyes glossing over slightly which was the moment you'd hugged him, the outside hitter instinctively surrendering to you in silence.
It didn't take long for him to recover, mumbling curses into your neck and pulling back with a frustrated furrow of his brows, darting his glare to the side.
"I really wanted to beat him this time, I was so pissed at him and... you two get on so well."
"Why has that been bothering you today? Is it because you're opponents? You barely see him outside of tournaments."
"It hasn't— I just— It's more than that." It was spoken through gritted teeth, like he'd been trying to avoid this but you knew him better than his cunning tricks would account for.
Daishō turned away from you, as a useless attempt and keeping his composure but you were persistent when it came to his well-being, he knew that.
"Because his team beat yours? That doesn't matter, you played skilfully and should be so proud that you're one of the top 4 teams in Tokyo!"
"No! It's— shit..." Regretfully, digits brushed his hair back once you'd cracked his resolve, turning to meet your concerned gaze and reflexively wanted to spill everything to you. "It's because the thought of anyone -particularly Kuroo- getting to be with you, seeing you smile just for them and loving you makes me feel - I dunno - sick? Since..."
"Since...?" You parroted, curiosity and mild irritation laced into it.
"Since I— since I haven't told you how I feel yet and I want to be the one to make you smile, and be the one you fall in love with or whatever. If you'll let me."
The usual cunning gaze was absent, replaced with unnerved sentiment and a wavering hopefulness you'd only seen on the rarest of occasions. The ones where he'd needed you most - except you were speechless, voice cracking in whispered disbelief.
"Wha-what?"
Daishō shook his head, blinking harshly before speaking up again, a deep breath taken to calm his nerves beforehand.
"I wanted to tell you how I felt, I've wanted that for so long - but I waited so you'd know it wasn't just a rebound after Mika. I never wanted that thought to even cross your mind because you're so much more than that to me." Suguru stepped closer, cautiously analysing your reactions and placed a delicate hold on your upper arms before continuing to elaborate.
"You understand me like second nature, and you've always supported my passion for Volleyball even if you aren't as interested as me. I can be myself around you, and I'm so grateful that you accept me for me."
Honestly you couldn't help but smile sorrowfully, tension easing into the familiarity of your friendship with a breathy giggle escaping alongside your next words. "Suguru, if you'd have said this a year ago I would've kissed the hell outta you..."
A faint scarlet dusted his skin, flicking to your lips and back to meet your eyes sensing you weren't finished yet.
"I'll always feel something toward you, we’re good friends for a start but your emotions are running high right now."
"Yeah but, you've thought about us too? Why didn't you ever say anything? We could've— I would've—"
"I didn't think you felt the same, then Mika came along and the rest is history." Came your shrugging justification, Daishō maintaining his contrasting mixture of shock and pleading with dramatic gestures acting as accompaniment.
"You never asked, after all we've done together you don't think it crossed my mind? Because it did -so many times- but losing you wasn't an option and then I loved Mika-chan."
"I know. I was there idiot." Despite your witty sarcasm, your offered another kind smile and a playful punch to his shoulder. "But regardless of this, you're still my best friend Daishō so we shouldn't rush into anything."
"And you're mine too. We should talk about this when we get back then, over food maybe?" He'd caught your wrist, tentative hold lingering longer or maybe you'd only just noticed because of the revelation, and you had always shared moments like these.
"Yeah, alright. I'll meet you in the lobby, take a minute to yourself first."
"I hate how well you know me." Daishōs' signature smirk resurfaced, tone as slick as ever like he hadn't just confessed.
The lobby was dispersed, fellow Nohebi teammates surrounded your perimeter whilst you awaited the return of your Captain. Though seeing his figure stroll through the hallway, hands buried in his pockets and aura downcast like expecting punishment for wrongdoing.
"Saw Mika huh?" Came your precarious voice, not even looking at him when he'd halted before you and remorsefully responsed.
"Oh, yeah..."
"She told me you're fixing things, so I suppose you've changed your mind now?”
"..."
"Tch, I should've known—" It hurt. Evident in everything you exuded, arms crossed and ready to walk away until you were interrupted by none other than Kuroo.
"Hey, how is my favourite Nohebi Academy attendee?"
"Perfect, you can go now." Daishō hissed out, instinctively stepping closer to you with Kuroo mirroring his glare with a fluent retort.
"You're obviously not my favourite, snake-bastard."
"I'm pissed pretty kitty, but congratulations on reaching Nationals. How are you feeling Tetsurō?"
"Look I know losing sucks, but it was a good match so don't be too hard on yourselves." A comforting hand was placed on your shoulder, reaching for it with a grateful smile that soon flipped to flirtatious.
"How about you make it up me then Kuroo?"
"Oya? I'd love that, fancy going to the shopping district this weekend?"
"Good idea, I'll—"
"No way! That is not happening!" Alarmed, Suguru protectively intervened with a distressed look sent toward you as if begging you to reconsider.
"Couples dispute huh?"
"Potentially!" "No!" — The answers to Kuroos' offhanded query were synchronous, leaving the Nekoma Captain rather smug.
"Sorry Kuroo, a lot has happened today, could I text you later? My team need me more right now."
"No worries, thanks again for the game today. See you guys for a rematch sometime, and see you sooner hopefully."
With Kuroo returning to Nekoma, you walked an irritated Daishō outside rolling your eyes at his blatant refusal to acknowledge the previous events. Too much had happened today, like a carousel of mismatched emotions and situations that were dizzying - and the ride wasn't over.
"What now? You don't like my underhanded tactics Daishō? Because I learned them straight from you." Venom laced your voice, ironic considering your teams' insignia, and your Captain reminded you he’d mastered such a tone, cutting your path and scanning your frame with betrayal piercing that resolve.
"I told you about how I felt less than 30 minutes ago, and you do this right in front of my face?"
"Yeah, but I did it right after the part where you reconciled with your ex-girlfriend. Remember that bit?"
"Yes I remember! But we aren't getting back together, we just talked. Mika saw me play and enjoyed it - you got the wrong idea." Suguru desperately defended himself, both out of frustration and fear of losing you more than anything.
"So did you!"
Incredulously he tutted at your reference to Kuroo, the two of you misinterpreting the others intentions apparently a mutual mistake even though he required further convincing.
"Doubt it, you two are—"
"Friends. Not once did Kuroo and I mention ‘date’, we hang out all the time. You'd know that if you asked what I did, instead of if it'd be a good date location for you and Mika."
"I never— oh..." Daishō bit his tongue, brief recollections proving your account to be true. An apologetic look of empathy crossed his features, sincerity flooding the first half of his statement prior to argumentativeness overshadowing it. "Then I'll work on that, but you still openly flirt with each other!"
"We have dumb nicknames and we flirt a bit, if we wanted anything to happen then it would've. You just don't listen do you?"
"What more was there to listen to? It hurt enough already!" Voices we're raising, like a battle of dominance in this heated 'discussion' of yours fuelled by burning feelings for one another.
"He said 'Your snake bastard' and  'couples dispute' — do you really think the scheming Captain would mention that offhanded? No, he was teasing me because he knew how I felt about you Suguru. Jeez..." Breathlessly you finished, flicking up to the sky to take a breath and landing back on your now offended best friend.
"You told Kuroo -that rooster bastard- before me?!"
"Tetsurō picked up on it, he's more intuitive, obviously."
"No he isn't! I just never wanted to make you uncomfortable by bringing it up!"
"And this scenario is sooo much better."
"Tomorrow." Composed, and confident. Like he’d already mentally configured an entire plan, one you were currently unaware of.
"What?"
"We do this tomorrow. We should go out, like normal, except we need to talk once we've had time to figure things out. Sound good?"
"Yeah... you're right. Tomorrow."
"Let's uh, get back to our team. They'll get suspicious if we're gone too long."
———
Never had it been awkward between you two, Nohebi would testify to that. Even during fights you'd still fire insults at one another before ultimately making up.
Sitting across from him now though, in one of the familiar restaurants you'd frequented to escape the chaos of the city, neither of you could manage even that much.
"So..."
"...So."
"You and Kuroo aren't..." Daishō spoke carefully, trailing off with the rest obviously implied whilst you mirrored the tone.
"No, and Mika isn't your..."
"No."
Silence reclaimed the atmosphere, claws sinking in suffocatingly deeper as if constricting you, choking out your next words with stilted laughter.
"I've never not known what to say to you before. This is really weird..."
"I agree, I mean the only time we've had silence is when we share a look about some scheme we devised in our heads." Grinning at the memory, Daishō understood what you meant, almost like clearing the air to speak freely.
"Exactly! Now all I can think about is-"
"Dating you."
"Dating you."
Simultaneously mutual, the two of you diverting your attention due to sheer embarrassment at the honest nonchalance of it.
"After everything that happened yesterday, would you still want that?"
"Yeah, as your best friend, I strongly recommend myself as boyfriend material." Daishō offered a victorious smirk, leaning forward across the table in bemusement - until meeting your expectant brow. "Ah, seriously though, I'd do anything for you anyway and if we dated I'd try to be the person you deserve."
"Idiot, you're already perfect for me. Don't change or anything okay?" With your quieter reply, he became flustered by your flattery and his confidence faltered with his stammering.
"I— I won't - um, you're... you're perfect for me too so..."
The conversation actually resonated, panic surging through you due the fact you were presuming you’d be together hence your urgent corrections as you reached your hand across the table in surrender.
"Only if we do get together of course! Not that we will - I'm not pressuring you or anything!"
"No no! Neither! I want to, but if you don't want to then that's fine too!"
"Well, I want to too!" It was a peculiar back and forth, voices in acting that of a dispute despite it being the opposite.
"Then this is a date."
"It's a date."
"..."
Again it was ambiguous, staring at one another in thought until you’d spoke cautiously.
"..."
"Actually, how about we just hang out, we can go on our first date another time. I just want to enjoy being with you like this, simply because I can." You were pleasantly surprised to see the tension relieve itself from Daishōs’ muscles at your proposal.
"Whatever you want, I’m happy if you are~"
———
It was no surprise it took about 2 months for him to ask you to be his partner, after a few dates here and there. It came too naturally, being together romantically that is. Even your team weren’t surprised by the development and if anything they were expecting it as some point or another.
It was just the two of you left in the gymnasium tonight, riding the high of Suguru becoming your boyfriend only moments ago having asked you on the court which was one of his favourite places that linked you together he’d said. You couldn’t help but lovingly smile at his cheesiness, agreeing all the same until delicate fingers lifted your chin.
“I officially get to be the one who can make you smile like that from now on y’know.”
"We're still friends first though, you're my partner and my best friend Suguru." You’d leaned in slightly, digits easing to the back of his neck with Daishō melting into your warm touch.
"Of course kitten."
"..." You both froze in place, shooting an unimpressed look toward your boyfriend as if saying ‘Really?’.
"Ugh yeah that hurt me as well - you're far too beautiful for a shitty pet name like that one anyway." Instantly he’d pulled back in mock disgust, internally chastising himself for saying something so cringe in such a lovely moment but found comfort in your echoing laughter.
In a minute you'd caught yourself, pulling the sniggering idiot back to you with tone seductively lower than usual as you angled to kiss him once more - holding back just enough to speak.
"What are you going to call me then?"
"Mine."
"I can deal with that. Which makes you mine, Suguru."
Lips centimetres apart, if you weren't so in tune with him then you'd have missed the wistfully longing mutter escaping his tongue before he closed the gap.
"Finally..."

kiss you ; captains edition.
summary: they haven’t kissed you yet.
genre: fluff (no angst i promise, just idiot boys)
masterlist.
Tumblr media
➜ DAISHŌ S: “I wanted you to ask me.”
It has been five weeks since you and Suguru started dating, yet he didn't even try to kiss you. You knew that Daishō wasn't shy. He was just the opposite, so you couldn't think of a reason why he still hadn't done it. Suguru's teammates always described him as bold and candid, which you understood already, but he hadn't been like such regarding this 'issue'. Plus, he always bragged about your relationship with everyone who dared to ask him about it. Though Daishō had a cocky personality, you knew his biggest weakness: Suguru was a simp. You planned that moment for days. You waited for him to show up at your house, hug him and then ask him to kiss you. It was just like that, very straightforward and to the point. You won't believe what he said next. Daishō was waiting for you to ask him all along. Damn, this big (but arrogant) simp really tricked you this time.
➜ KITA S: “I’ve never kissed anyone before.”
It has been two months since you and Shinsuke started dating. But even if you wanted to, you know, make progress, he never got the signals you gave him. If you ever looked at him straight in the eye and started getting closer, Kita would simply turn in the other direction. Avoiding the fact that you wanted to kiss him. You thought that maybe you had bad breath, or that he was the one with it (? Anyway, you couldn't take it anymore, so one afternoon you decided to go ask him. Turns out, poor embarrassed baby, Kita had never kissed anyone before. And he was too scared to screw it up!!! Can't stress this enough you were so soft. Then, you grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pressed your lips together. 'Done,' you said and patted him on the shoulder. Blushing to his ears, Shinsuke smiled. He still remembers that moment until this day.
➜ KUROO T: “I’m an awful kisser.”
It has been one month since you and Tetsurō started dating. However, none of you had dared to do anything more than hugging. You always wondered why he hadn't tried to kiss you at least, as he had done it very early in the relationship with his previous partners. Doubt started spreading through your thoughts. Was Kuroo going to break up with you because you hadn't kissed him yet? Maybe you weren't as bold as his exes were, but you loved him nevertheless. Before your doubts could consume your mind though, you decided to go ask him what was going on. The answer was really shallow and stupid. Tetsurō had heard his ex tell one of their friends that he was a somewhat poor kisser. For a split of a second, you wanted to laugh out loud. You never thought Kuroo was also insecure sometimes. Of course, you assured him you wouldn't care whether he was bad at kissing or not. You just wanted to feel closer to him.

Tumblr media
Kuroo makes his way up the stairs, slipping out of his wool coat and scarf, it gets warmer as he gets higher, and his legs feel like jelly from running Lev’s drills. The third floor of the science building is stuck squarely in the 80’s, dark wood, jewel tones, deep green walls and a grey rug floor. The tables in each of the classrooms he passes are huge and oak, with matching chairs behind them. It’s quiet, but as he makes his way down the hallway, catching your voice floating through the open door, and taking a moment to eavesdrop.
“Ah, actually,” you say, and he hears you take a couple steps, “It looks like this might be the trans hudson orogeny, just because of the shape of the island arc in that one, when compared to this map here?”
“Oh!” He hears another girl scramble for some paper, “Oh oh, oh my god, I think you’re right.” He hears the creek of a chair as she collapses in exhaustion. “You fucking did it.” He swallows, disliking how nervous he is, reaching up and knocking on the door.
“Come in,” you say softly, “We don’t have the room reserved.” You’re hovering over a table covered in a colorful confusing map. “Oh! Ah,” he’s seized with guilt at the way you automatically hop on the defensive, the way your shoulders stiffen,  your fingers lacing and unlacing in a mannerism he now recognizes as a nervous tic.
“Can I uh,” remembering that’s what he said last time, “Can I borrow you for a second?” You swallow, and the other girl looks intensely uncomfortable. “I uh, I got your annotations, and I want to talk to you about them.” You nod slowly and roll your neck, it cracks loudly. You follow him out into the hallway. “So,” he says, “You might have hurt my feelings, and I lashed out, which is an explanation and not an excuse.”
“Oh,” you cross your arms across your chest.
“I care, a lot, very, very deeply, for the students at this school. I care about my friends, and my work, and I know I’m not very emotionally expressive, but I can be ah, emotional.” You raise an eyebrow. “What?”
“I’m valuing the merits of making a joke about you telling me to calm down,” you say dryly and he grins.
“I get you now, that was  you making the joke, correct?” he says, and you nod. “I thought maybe, ah we could talk, about the paper? Civilly, I promise. No quoting founding fathers.”
“Oh ah,” You move a little away from him in the hallway, “Honestly I’m not super interested in that.” He blinks at you. “You were right, political science isn’t my major, and um, honestly my views on this stuff are rooted in personal issues, I can’t promise it won’t get ah, heated. Plus I’ve really got to work on this lab,” you jerk your head back to the door. Kuroo’s mind races, he wouldn’t be able to sleep until he made this right.
“Can I have your number, then, and we can text?” He watches you consider, disliking the way his heart is sprinting in his chest. Your eyes dart back to the classroom before answering.
“Yeah, ah, sure.”
“I’d like to make this more accessible, I mean, student council, for scholarship students.”
You nod quickly, and your eyes dart back to the lab. “But ah, tomorrow, okay, not, not tonight, I’ll let you finish up.”
“I’m um,” you say quickly, “I’m not promising to come out of this conversation agreeing with you on anything, just um, just so you’re aware.” He grins, amber eyes glinting.
“Excellent.”

Hey! Congrats on reaching 500, you deserve it ♡
I'd really like to take part in your milestone event so here I am, heh. I would like a tokyo revengers and jjk/haikyuu ( I can't decide the second tbh you can pick just something?) match up if possible. But you can also just ignore this ask if It's too much! Kisses anyway.
Uhm where do I start?
I'm an ENTP and bi with a preference for fictional man ( like everyone here)
I'm super pale with dark red and white hair mostly in two pigtail braids. I have a stick and poke tattoo from a friend on my leg(a moon). I mostly wear black and red and have a little Jewellery addiction - especially rings. I kid you not I own over 100 but I tend to gift them to random people at parties when I wear too much and get bored of them.
I'm blunt, sarcastic and come off as mean sometimes, but I actually just can't shut up and do/say what I want. I'm also very competitive and chaotic and for being a huge flirt. I'm a little dramatic and get bored easily. I start many things but lose interest fast ( people and activities ). Overall I'm pretty chill with everything and go with the flow. Most of the time I'm very outgoing and can start conversations/arguments with everyone. I can get super awkward with affection so my love language are mostly acts of service and gifts. I love bad puns and jokes, dark and dirty ones specifically. My humor is broken if I'm honest.
The things I love are Horror stories, Philosophy, the iliad ( old stories and epics in general ), cats, coffee and late night adventures.
Poppy it's time to prepare your ice cream and I'm really happy about it!!! First before matching you up, I have to say something, I had real fun reading your request and during these days I was impatient to arrive here and write it, also I think I'm in love with you after your appereance description 💜
Warnings: Smut, Pegging, Video, Male Sub, Sex Toys, Overstimulation, Minors DNI.
Tokyo Revengers: Hajime Kokonoi
Tumblr media
I have to be frank in here, I thought of Ran hearing your description, not only for the braids but also for your personality, but I think that you would be a disaster couple together cause you're way too similar, so here I am matchin you with our favourite sugar daddy Koko!
Why do I choose him? Well he enjoys sarcathisc people and also your strong personality. Koko knows that you're a strong girl who doesn't need protection and that's why he loves you!
You find yourself bored easily but Koko has a remedy for it, your dates with him don't consist only in fancy restaurant but most of the time, last minute holiday on the other part of the world!
When you go on holiday you love to go around and discover the meaning of new places, I canon you being in New York in the top of Empire State Building while you explain the history of the art-deco building and Koko opens up a champagne and makes a toast for the view in front of you!
This sounds big right? But don't worry, you're not going to the other side of the world every weekend, infact most of the time you and Koko enjoy the warm of your house.
During your domestic dates he comes back with the takeaway of your favourite italian restaurant and you decide the wine to drink.
Despite dinner, I canon you cuddling the persian cat he gifted you, who stays calm in his/your lap.
You have the habit to play poker, do you bet? Of course! Money? Nah too boring, you enjoy betting sex, in particular ways.
He tried to let you win but the first time he did it, you got so angry that you didn't talk with him and got to bed alone, he had to pray for an hour before forgiving him, you're not a baby that he must protect!
Going back to the sex bet, most of time it involves domineering kinks, from both him and you.
You peg him, you overstimulated him with his personal vibrator, he did the same with you, but most of all you recorded your intercourse.
Both of you have a nude album of the other, but you also did a professional one together, everyone in Bonten knows about it!
Talking about Bonten, you never go to their hideout but the guys know you and respect you, during the poker nights it happened that they were invited.
In the beginning they tease you, most Sanzu and Haitani bros, in the end they respect you, to the point that Ran became one of your closest friend and always keep you updated about Koko's conditions.
The relationship with Koko sounds sophisticate but genuine, strong and powerful. Keep it tight cause most of the people don't understand each other like you do!
Haikyuu: Suguru Daishou
Tumblr media
Please bear with me, it seems that I picture you with guys that have snake eyes 😂 but there is a reason: snake eyes remember me of people with a sassy and asshole attitude!
You and Daishou professionaly tease people together! You love joking about them to the point to result mean, but this is something that your friends can go through.
You love outdates especially to arcade where you challenge and most of the time you win! This annoy Suguru to hell that most of the time bring you shouting at home and throwing you to bed, he fucks the hell out of you.
No Suguru doesn't want you to be in charge, sex for him is important to establish who is the male in the couple, and you don't care about it cause this leave you completely satisfied.
Sex isn't everything in your relationship, you enjoy a lot going out to dinner with friends, you even became buddy with Kuroo and this annoys Suguru as fuck, but respecting Nekoma's captain he doesn't complain too much about it
When you stay at home you definitely watch horror movies, but most of the time he's really annoyed by it, he just does it cause he loves you.
You also play board games, but being this a bit calmer than arcade ends up with you just laughing and eating snack until you can't keep your eyes open and you both lay on the couc/bed with him spooning you.
Daishou is competitive, loosing a match brings him lot of frustration. It's canon that he really struggle facing this problem, but seeing you helping him and just doing simple things like welcoming him with a hug and preparing his favourite dinner helps him recover.
Acts of service mean: training with him, cooking for him. The time he lost against Nekoma he came back hom without saying a word, there beside his computer there was a dvd you prepared.
"Watch me" you written on it, and here he was tears flowing from his eyes. It was a compilation of all the points he score in the year and compliments from schoolmates and teammates but also others friends.
He watches it everytime he feels down and this is enough to help him improving his mood.
You're a meanie couple but when something happens, you're always there for the other and that's what makes you fantastic together!
Poppy I finished, I really hope that you like this cause I had lot of fun writing it, kisses 💜

And the snakes started to sing — Intro
Tumblr media
Rated: SFW
Author note: I decided on posting the intros for all the fics before updating them. Please, give this one the same amount of love you give to the other stories from this au *cough* Hospital for souls *cough*. Daisho is my babie and I love him very much.
Warnings: cursing, name-calling, implied cheating, mentions of alcohol and me being mean to Mika.
I — Intro
Previous || Next
When he decided to marry her, it felt right.
Back at that time, it felt like he had made a big score that would lead him into a successful path.
She had stunning looks and that fire in her eyes. A combo that would put any man into his knees in adoration.
At that moment, she seemed nothing but a strong-minded girl, with a sassy demeanor and a seducing aura. The sweet smiles and soft voice were a bonus.
Plus the fact Mother Nature gifted her with those ginger locks and the skin of alabaster, being enamored by her looks couldn't be helped either.
He was sure she was a goddess among the Earth and he, himself, was more than willing to let her rule his life.
And man, was he wrong.
Mika was a bitch — the worst one, it is.
He can't exactly pinpoint the moment things went wrong, but he knew it wasn't much long after their wedding.
She turned out to be demanding.
A vixen who couldn't let him be, always rubbing shit on his face and remarking how much of a failure he was.
Oh, she was a cheater too.
And this is why Daisho Suguru, the oh-so-feared oyabun of Nohebi, was wasting his night away on a lowlife bar located in the outskirts of Tokyo.
Because if he ran into her right now, he would end her right on the spot, using only his bare hands, almost breaking the promise he made to himself of never laying a hand on a woman with hurting purposes.
As much as she deserved it.
"Uhm... sir?" A soft voice snapped him out of his reverie. Lifting his gaze, his eyes bore into gentle ones "I'm sorry for disturbing you, but we're closing for the night." The woman said to him.
"Oh, right. Gimme the bill, please" She looked worriedly at him.
"Sir, you only drank water the whole night. Water is on the house." She stated the obvious, wiping the counter. The name tag on her chest glinted under the dim light; he paid no mind to it, returning to look past the woman's face.
"Oh, right" he was astonished. He was supposed to be sad and drinking his heart out. Maybe, in bloodlust for revenge.
Is this how emptiness feels? He wondered.
"Then, can I have a swill of whiskey before I go?" He asked, an uncertain tone lacing his voice; the woman smiled warmly at him, grabbing a glass.
"Of course. We have scotch, tennessee and a bottle of Yamazaki to offer. Which one do you prefer?"
"Yamazaki. Neat, please" He asked, analyzing her features.
She was pretty. Her body held a delicate constitution he never saw before. Doe eyes with long lashes that resembled doll ones.
Pretty, he realised, but not quite my type.
"Here ya go, sir." His concentration was broken by the screech the glass made on the wooden surface after the woman slid it to him.
Chugging down its content, throat burning in the process, he then banged the glass onto the counter when finished.
The bargirl let out a little squeal at the sound.
"I apologize" he whispered, hands running through his verdant hair while he looked around the place.
The bar wasn't even that bad per se, but it wasn't like the fancy pubs he is used to frequent either. Tough it wasn't what tickled him off.
The woman before him didn't fit in the place.
It wasn't his problem. But it bugged him to see a pretty thing like her in a place like this.
He observed as she organized some stuff in the cabinets. He didn't miss the glances she threw at him over her shoulders, eyes almost rushing him out.
Daisho sighed.
"I'll take my leave. How much do I owe you?" The man asked, already reaching for his wallet.
"Nothing really." The words came out in relief. He frowned, feeling pathetic.
"Look, I'm not a charity case." The bitter taste in his mouth felt too much. He didn't come in searches of pity from the worker of a rundown bar.
For goddam's sake, Daisho could buy and burn down the whole city.
The man didn't want her sympathy.
"Oh, I didn't mean to offend you, sir." She squealed, moving her hands frantically "You just look like you could use something warm right now." And after years of being stabbed on the back, he saw sincerity in the color of her eyes; no second intentions behind those irises.
He thanked the girl, finally taking his leave.
Getting out of the place and ignoring the dull burning in his throat, Daisho couldn't understand the feeling inside of his chest — but he knew it wasn't a bad sensation.
Warm indeed, the male thought, starring at the dark sky of Tokyo.

Day 3: Daisho Suguru
December Soulmate Prompt Calendar
“Good luck/bad luck- can give or take from each other”
Warning: HQ Adult Teams, unluckiness, mention of major death events, mentioned cop/investigator reader, being polite to service workers, sarcasm.
Author’s Note: Day 3 and I am still on top of things, yeyeyey!! So I have 2 well known HQ boys, now here is one for the lesser followed boys' fans. He is the one I chose as the main villain for my King Author AU, and I love how easy it is to view him as a bad guy. But, as this is a soulmate story, obviously he himself is not the bad guy here. The story got away from me and then I remembered I had a goal for these things...so yall in for a treat if you like to read things! Hahah
Hope you enjoy!
Every morning you had a choice upon awakening. You could choose to keep your luck or send it to your soulmate. You were not sure when the choices started up, but they’ve been there above your head every morning for as long as you could remember.
And, except for twice in your life, for however long it has been going on you have not chosen to keep your luck.
*dong*
The tone rang out indicating the system took your ‘send luck’ choice. Dragging yourself from the bed you groaned out, the actual act of getting up being the hardest part of any morning.
A slip on your loosely discarded clothes from the day prior made you fall, thankfully able to prop yourself against your hand before your head banged back against the bed frame this time.
You made it to the restroom and completed your morning routine with relatively little problems, and were still on a high from getting cold and not ice for your shower water.
Pulling the blazer over your chosen button up for the day, you took one last look before leaving the enclosed space.
A phone rang from somewhere in your apartment, and you spent so long looking for it that the ringing stopped. A beat later and it picked up again. This happened four more times before you finally found the device during its seventh ring. “Hello!” You answered excitedly.
“Lose your phone again?” Your boss asked shortly.
Laughing a bit before giving an answer, you began to simultaneously grab your gear bag for the day, “Ah you know me boss-man. I’d lose my own head if it wasn’t attached.”
You could hear the sigh fall from between his teeth and before he could say anything further you added, “Sorry, boss. I’m headed in now.”
“Nope. You got a flight to catch. Be at the airport in twenty or you’ll miss it.” He hung up after that, and you groaned for the second time that day.
Rushing so fast out our door after grabbing your go-bag as well that you forgot to lock the door behind you.
You’d been through security a number of times before, and every time you had the same conversation with the security guards. “I have a silver infused mark below my hip line, not in an easy to show location. If you want to confirm I need a private space with only one guard to double-check.”
The guy behind the beltline nodded and motioned for you to go through the scanner.
Of course the alarm went off, as expected, and you had to wait sixteen minutes while some free guard made their way to come take you for a check against your words. It was a longer wait than you were used to but you figured things were just evening themselves out from getting slightly better water during your shower.
“Wow.” The guard exclaimed, finally turning around to give you the privacy of redressing yourself. “Honestly, I should not be surprised as tats can be placed anywhere, but I have got to say this is my first time seeing one...there.”
“Yepp.” You offhandedly confirmed it wasn’t the first time you’d heard the commentary.
Coughing slightly, you indicated you were presentable again, and the guard smiled at you before leading you back to the airport’s gate hub. Nodding a goodbye, you followed the signs to your assigned gate ready to wait patiently for the flight to begin boarding procedures.
“Hello, can (L/N) (F/N) please report to the service desk. Repeat can (L/N) (F/N) please report to the service desk. Thank you!” The intercom rang out overhead.
Sighing in defeat you figured it was one of three things; your flight was canceled and you need to get the next one which is a few hours away, your flight was delayed and again would be a few hours, or your flight was overbooked and your were randomly chosen as the passenger to be moved to a different flight.
“Yes, I am (F/N) (L/N). I was asked to report to the service desk?” You said, placing your bag on the floor between your feet.
The receptionist smiled politely before speaking in the practiced calm manner, “Thank you for a quick response! Unfortunately, we have some bad news. Your flight was overbooked and to keep things fair, we did a random draw for which passenger would be bumped to the next flight out and your name was drawn. Fortunately, because we do recognize that this can be a major inconvenience we offer a voucher worth the same price of your original ticket that you can use with the airline anytime over the next year.”
Smiling politely back, you corrected her since you’d been down this path before. “I appreciate the offer but I know that the voucher can be given as cash instead. I will accept the funds and the flight change. Please and thank you.”
It was obvious the girl had been through this interaction just as often as you had and just nodded, “Gave your luck to your partner this morning?” She asked as she typed on her computer to get you what you asked for.
You smiled before nodding.
“Me too. Hope your day doesn’t get too much worse. And, thank you for flying Brand Airline!” She handed you an envelope which you could tell had cash in it and your newly printed ticket sticking out a bit from the corner.
“Thanks, Hope your day goes as well as possible too.”
Finding your new gate you took a seat and began the long waiting process.
You were scrolling through your phone when a call came in from your boss.
“Missed your flight?” He asked plainly.
“No, was rebooked after arrival.” You answered.
He laughed briefly before moving onto the reason for his call. “You left your place unlocked again.”
“Damn!” You cursed, quickly looking around you to make sure no children overheard. “What’d I lose this time?”
“Electronics...coin bucket...everything else looks par for the course. Gunna have to move you again.” You heard your other teammate from the background.
Shaking your head you took a few breaths before responding, “Just grab the mini safe from the third drawer in the dresser. I'll worry about the rest when I return. Boss, I’m still confused by this email. It says--” A beep in your ear had you move the phone to check, it was at one percent battery and was about to die on you. “Sorry boss, phone’s about to--” Another beep and when you looked this time the screen was black. “Die.” You finished to yourself.
“Well that’s too bad.” You heard from behind you.
“It happens.” You responded.
The person must have taken your response as an invite to open more conversation. “You can use mine to call them back if you want?”
It was a kind offer but you figured with your luck their phone would die as soon as you pressed call. “Thank you, but I would hate for my lack of luck to affect your device too.”
“Ah, well my abundance of luck should counter that perfectly.” A plop sounded and you looked down fast enough to just catch the phone thrown in your lap before it fell off the side of your leg. “See, still in one piece.”
You held the device out for the overly confident male to take it back, and when he did not immediately do so you turned to face him clearly. “Really, I thank you for the thought. But I have not kept my luck for years. So, please take this back before its contact with me begins to affect it even more.”
You felt the pressure from their seat behind yours leave, and suddenly the seat beside you dipped.
“Again, I have been receiving extra luck, so I have an abundance. I am loaning my personal device to someone, so my luck stays with my device don’t you think?” His eyes snaked over you as he pushed your hand closer to your body.
Shaking your head, you decided to compromise. “I’ll accept your kindness and send my boss a text explaining what happened. Give me a moment.” Pressing send on the device you noticed the battery had only lost about 10% from when you got into the messaging app. “Wow, seems you do have an exceedingly large amount of luck. You only lost 10% of your battery.”
Snatching the device from your hand and double-checking your words, he slightly laughed once seeing your surprised expression. “I mean I knew when people send their luck they tend to take on the bad luck of the other but can honestly say I did not expect it to be that bad.”
“Bad?” You exclaimed, “10% in three minutes is not bad for me. That’s actually pretty decent. I was truly impressed that your entire battery was not drained.”
“Dr-Drai--Drained?!” He was so shocked, he instinctively held his phone up against his chest and turned slightly away. “Sorry, that was uncalled for. I am the one who pressed for it.” He hummed through your silence, “So, this has been your daily for years now?”
Nodding a couple of times, you decided it couldn’t hurt to spend some time speaking to this random dark haired male before your flight. “Mostly. Some things will change slightly. Some better luck with not spilling your coffee in the morning may amount to being 5 bucks short from the meal you want for dinner that night. But nothing ever too bad happens to me, so I take the win.”
“You ever keep the luck, or take your soulmate’s for the day?” He asked seriously.
“Some time ago, yea. Once I kept my luck because I had a test in every class period and my driving test after school. Everything worked out and I figured I would let them keep the luck for the rest of highschool as a thank you. But that same day my friend who’d always been given their soulmate’s luck didn’t get it and their day was so bad...I hated to think that happened to my own soulmate, so I adjusted my thought process. Some things happened later and a third choice appeared, ‘Steal Luck’. I was in a very bad place, and thinking it a joke I pressed the option...I’d heard of more car wrecks, plane accidents, and buildings falling that day then any other and immediately felt like my soulmate was at risk of being in a similar incident. So I just never kept my luck again.” You laughed and gave them a smile, “Sorry, that was a lot of information to dump on someone I’d just met.”
He smiled at you, “Eh, I’m sure your soulmate was not struggling as much as you feared they were.”
Rolling your eyes, you sarcastically agreed, “Yea. Obviously my fears are completely unjustified. Thank you, random person I have literally never talked to before, for that oh so astute insight into the life of another I have never met before.”
“You can hold the sarcasm. I’m just saying that keeping your luck is different than stealing it. You said you got the option to steal once? There are mates out there that get the option all the time, and do so. Those probably are the ones most highly affected.” He sneered, sounding happy beneath his slight reprimanding. “Besides, someone who willingly gives away their luck for years cannot be saddled with someone who is that unlucky on the one or two days they don’t receive their gift. Happen to remember the days you kept your luck?”
Giving him a look, he laughed before correcting himself, “Sorry. Kept one day and ‘stole’ the other. Do you remember the dates?”
Nodding, you gave him a side eye, “Why?”
“Because I remember the only two days I was not given luck from my soulmate, and the first was such basic high school issues that my friends made fun of me for making a big deal out of it.”
Staring the man down, you watched his eyes closely. Trying to discern if he was hiding something behind his snake like pupils, or if he was being a hundred percent honest. “And you remember the date of this first incident?”
“Well, yea. It was the day my girlfriend at the time broke my heart.” He smiled at the memory, and you wondered how someone could smile thinking about a breakup. “Wasn’t the first time our pair broke up. And when I found out she wasn’t actually sending me her luck but had been lying for the duration of our...relations., thing kind of became memorable.”
“Wow, she lied about being your soulmate?” You were shocked beyond belief hearing that. “That takes some guts. How’d you find out?”
He withdrew a bit at the comment, “Ah well I am kinda selfish...I’ve only sent my soulmate luck once. And, she was apparently having a really good day. I asked her what was different and she said, well very suggestively, said it was because of all the goodwill I had sent her recently.” He shook his head before digging into his backpack, only continuing as he pulled out his laptop. “I knew it was a lie because I had marked the only day I’d ever sent my soulmate my luck. What was the day you chose ‘Steal Luck’?”
Saying the date out loud, you looked at the male sat beside you distrustfully.
“Right, the date circled here in red?” He questioned, showing you his now open calendar on his screen.
You were shocked, but slowly nodded to confirm.
“Lovely to meet you, soulmate.”
“You can’t know that.” You shot back instead, refusing to acknowledge the coincidence.
He shrugged, “You think so? Remember how I said I’d only sent my soulmate luck once? Or, how earlier I said that some people are always given the choice to steal luck from their partner? Yea, when you send your luck, your partner is then given the choice to either steal more, keep their own, or send their own. You said you’d always sent your luck except two days? I have both of those days marked in my calendar as the only two days I did not get the option to steal any more. Today, I was given a fourth option. The normal ones I am used to seeing; keep luck, send luck, steal luck, and a new one, lucky meet. I looked into it, when soulmates accumulate enough luck between them they can choose when to meet. I made the choice, I hope that’s okay.” He held his hand out for shaking, “Daishou Suguru, at your service.”
A cheeky grin did nothing for your nerves. You’d listened to your dark haired seat neighbor as he explained what was going through his mind. When he finished with his introduction you realized how stark still you’d been sat, quickly thinking through all the implications before finalizing on, “You mean to tell me you’ve been stealing my luck all this time?”
“No, I am telling you it was an option all this time and that we accrued enough luck by you sending it and me not accepting it to be able to meet today.” He scoffed.
Narrowing your eyes at him, your mind ran through everything you knew about soulmates and the luck exchange. “I hadn’t heard of a lucky meet as an option.”
“According to the sites I found, which are password protected with the exact spelling and capitalization, you can only find out more when you get the notification.” He stated like it held no real concern for him. “Now, am I going to ever learn the name of my soulmate, or are you going to continue to deny this?”
“(F/N), (F/N) (L/N). And, I wasn’t trying to deny anything. I just like having facts.”
“No, you weren’t denying anything. And that isn’t a cop badge sticking out from behind your backpack. At least it makes sense why you were so against just accepting things for face value. But just so you know, it probably hasn’t been your best bet to send your luck all the time if you’re a cop. What if it causes you to lose your suspect?”
Laughing at the presumed impact of your luck loss, you gave your own insightful commentary, “Well, one, I work with a team so my daily luck level is not too much of an affect on that. Two, cops aren’t the only ones who won’t just accept things that are said to them by strangers. And, third, what do you do then, with all your luck?”
He responded by typing on his laptop and showing you the screen.
“A volleyball player?” You asked.
“Pro, actually.” He answered.
Your pair smiled at one another before he added, “Guess I’ll have to start giving you some luck if I want to make sure your phone is charged up enough for us to get to know each other better.”
“Guess so.” You turned your head towards the gate, as boarding was beginning. Quickly giving him the digits for your number before grabbing your bags and lining up. “Talk to you later, soulmate.”
He winked at you before grabbing his own carry-on items and standing behind you in line, “You didn’t think I was sitting here because I knew ahead of time, did you?”
Holding in your laughs, you shook your head at the absurdity. “Guess not.” You wondered how long this level of luck would continue under the umbrella of a ‘Lucky Meet’.

Haikyuu characters when you wear their jersey to one of their games
Date tech & other
Aone: stares at you for a split second mildly flustered and shocked. He’ll probably hug you for a long time after the game. He really doesn’t like pda but will show just a bit in front of the team.
futakuchi: probably is teasing you. I headcanon that he just teases you all the damn time. Just for fun you know? Anyway, he teases you in front of his team but when you get him he kinda just... clings to you... like a koala...
Terushima: won’t. Shut. Up. About. It. Like he’s kinda just casually glancing at you and waving to you throughout the game too. He’ll be very very clingy when you get home. Like if you have plans? Cancel them. You aren’t moving till the next day.
Daishō: smug as fuck. Low key flustered though. If the match is against Nekoma you bet your ass he’ll be smug as shit to kuroo. Ok for real though he’s like really flustered and loving to you when you get home.
Sakusa: “why are you wearing my extra jersey?”... he’ll just say that and when you ask if he’s cool with it cause you didn’t want to make him uncomfy but also wanted to surprise him he’ll just say “no it’s ok and all but like... why???” He still think a you’re cute though.
Hoshiumi: very clingy before and after the game. He’s very happy and you can see a slight bit of pink on his cheeks. He really doesn’t glance at you cause he’s focused during the game so he makes sure to shower you with love when you get home.
