Coming Out
An idea I've had for a while, even before Zero, but after Zero came out I thought that'd be the perfect way to present the idea. This page in particular, the dialogue has been floating around in my head for probably well over a year now. Also testing out TrueGrit's halftone machine on this comic and... I gotta say y'all, I kinda love it! I've been wanting to do more halftone work but haven't been able to find a look I like or a method that fits well with my workflow. [Image description: Comic page, 2 panels. Panel 1 shows a young Lupin and Jigen, where Jigen is facing the left and angrily bending himself forward while Lupin is behind him worried and reaching a hand out. Jigen’s yelling “Lupin! I’m gay! …okay?”. Panel 2 shows an open panel with no borders or background, a shoulder up shot of Lupin’s concerned face. Lupin says “So?” Comic with four panels, done in black and white with halftones. Panel one shows a young Jigen with his back to the camera and his shoulders tense. He says “So…?” Panel two, a larger panel with a close up shot of his face as he turns around and looks to the right, his expression is pained and there’s a tear in his eye. He yells “Doesn’t that bother you?!” Panel three is a wide panel with young Lupin in the center from the shoulders up. He’s mad as Jigen accuses him. He says “No. Should it?” Panel four is an open panel of the two boys looking at each other from a side view. Jigen is leaning back away, while Lupin leans in closer with a determined and expectant expression. Comic with three panels, done in black and white with halftones. Panel one floats atop a big open panel. Young Jigen is startled and unsure of himself, he says “N-no…” Panel two is a big open panel with no borders or backgrounds, it shows a confident young Lupin with his hands on his hips and his eyes closed. He says “I mean my grandpa is into guys too, you know. So I know what’s up!” Panel three is a big wide panel with Jigen in the center from the waist up. He’s blushing and looking down and to the left with his shoulders by his ears, still a bit tense, but smiling now. He says “Uhh, yeah. Okay. Cool.”]

How to trick Lupin & Co. into falling in love:
Zenigata: tell him, show him, what he deserves. Let him know he's pretty. Love him for more than his unhealthy work ethic, for more than his family legacy. Force him to take breaks from work, care for his aching bones not so he can get back to the chase but so his body can feel at ease. Give him a hug & take away that half empty bottle of booze. Be his distraction instead & don't let him feel guilty about well deserved love.
Jigen: Give him peace. Fill the world with silence, soft touches & long glances as a new form of communication. Leave space inbetween words. Allow open ended questions to go unanswered but always, always, listen with intent when he whispers out a reply. Be patient for the days where his lips spill paragraphs. Follow up on the little things. A pain he'd mentioned a while back or the worries he scarcely speaks on. Care for them both despite his bickering not to.
Lupin: Love him as an average. Be impressed at his nack for thievery yes, but be astounded at their French cooking. Focus love not at his talent for disguises but at, how in drag, she does her makeup with near perfection. Complement the way his hands seem always warm, not always acknowledging that those digets can break into any safe worldwide.
Goemon: Praise him & ask nothing in return. Clap at his swordsmanship but whisper meaningful compliments to him alone about his hair & smile. Be gentle but never afraid. Take care with what he is proud of but reason with his stubbornness when determination hurts. Care for the wounds he's gained due to over work & love the scars across him.
Fujiko: Laugh at her jokes genuinely. Tease her about the right things the right amount. Never fail to take an opportunity to woo her in public, private, loudly, silently etc. Leave her alone. Give her space but ensure she doesn't forget by not being forgettable. Be amazed but not tripped up or too tricked. Fall in love wholly but not deeply, let her open up. Be girls together, apart, & hardly against. Love what she loves hate what she hates, introduce her to new muses.

I’m eating jellybeans so it’s time for the obligatory Gang and their favorite candies headcanons!
Lupin:
* he likes sour stuff I feel like?
* also a big chocolate fan but he would rather have chocolate coins than like a chocolate bar y’know? He’s picky about that
* tbh I don’t know much about international candies but you know he stole from French candy stores (not small businesses though)
*I feel like he also chews gum based off of candies. Sour patch gum? Yes.
*also enjoys a crunchy candy
*#1 Nerds fan
Jigen:
* he’s old school about his candies but in a gross way?
*black licorice, saltwater taffy, candy cigarettes
*someone take his candy privileges away
*he does have a good amount of sense to try other stuff though
* normal choices include gumballs, jellybeans, chocolate, and good taffy like a Laffy Taffy 😌
Goemon:
* he doesn’t indulge much at first but when he does? Someone get him a bulk bag!
*despite his sensory specific choices for most foods, he isn’t picky about his candies and tries a bit of everything
*huge sweet tooth frankly
*lots of chocolate and frosting and marshmallows
*wouldn’t steal steal from the others but if he was craving candy enough he would
*he really enjoys gummy candies!
*gives the sour ones like the worms to Lupin but he enjoys a good gummy bear
Fujiko:
*she’s classy with her choices
*chocolate is a way to her heart, obviously
*make sure it has variety though! And NO COCONUT LUPIN (it’s so gross)
*does indulge in gum or jellybeans from time to time
*her go to is suckers/lollipops though. She very obnoxiously pops them out of her mouth to make points and look hot lmfao
Pops:
*his diet is basically candy, fast food, and packet ramen, he takes what he can get
*kind of like Jigen in his tastes?
*doesn’t like chocolate surprisingly unless it’s something like pocky
*or gum (it makes such a mess and he was one of those kids who believed that if you swallow it it stays in your stomach)
*he basically kinda just eats candy bars and the occasional gummy candy
*get this man some variety

Yes yes mutual pining culminating in an angsty misunderstanding followed by a grand declaration is great, and all.
But what if Lupin and Jigen gradually, naturally fell in love without really noticing it, until they wake up one day and realize: oh shit are we married???

More Thoughts On Lupin & Co. (This one is a little long)
lupin is super picky about his coffee and WILL get pissy if he doesn't get it how he likes it.
Fujiko made Lupin coffee for the first time along time ago after their first night together when they started their little situation-ship and Lupin has drank his coffee like that ever since.
Fujiko drinks energy drinks and Lupin is repulsed by them. Lupin caught her drinking one but she’ll deny it until the day she dies.
Jigen drinks his black because he can't handle too much caffeine. (for context, black coffee has a pretty low caffeine content for those who don't know.)
Lupin was a track and field kid. As seen in the events in Lupin Zero -sorta spoiler warning for those who haven't seen it-, his dad wanted him to live a normal life, so he convinced his son to do something normal kids do to get his energy out rather than stirring up shit. Lupin was reluctant but fell in love with the sport.
Jigen has really pretty hand writing but Lupin’s is shit, so Jigen writes all of Lupin’s cursive calling cards, but Lupin signs them. Sometimes Lupin just makes Jigen write things for him when he doesn't need it because he just really likes his hand writing.
Lupin likes drawing doodles on all of his notes, letters, etc. Without fail, Lupin's papers are littered w drawings of him, his friends, sometimes Zenigata, or whatever treasure they're after.
Zenigata doesn’t cook often, nor is he the best at it, but he really enjoys doing in nonetheless.
If Lupin doesn’t get his ‘beauty sleep’ he just turns into a full blown bumbling idiot, like I’m talking walking straight into door frames, tripping over his own feet, all of it
On top of that, if someone interrupts his sleep, he gets incredibly pissy and short tempered.
^^Jigen kept blasting opera over the radio once in the hideout, resulting in Lupin being woken from his nap. Without even a second thought, Lupin rolled over on the couch, shot the radio, and rolled back over.
Lupin has A LOT of scars, it comes with the territory of nearly dropping dead with every job he takes on, and he uses his skills as a disguise artist to cover them up because he feels self conscious about them.
I feel like he's a perfectionist so he would see these scars as reminders of how he could have done better or could have done more.
Fujiko is a big spoon and you can pry this thought from my cold dead hands.
Lupin has a little collection of those 3d puzzles, even rubix cubes, and he fiddles with them to keep his mind working during stretches of travel or when he can’t think
Both Goemon and Jigen have tried to use said puzzles out of curiosity but got frustrated when they couldn’t figure them out
Because Fujiko rides motorcycles a lot, I like to think she has a lot of automotive knowledge and has tinkered with the Fiat once or twice.
Lupin doesn’t let her near it often because she isn’t afraid to sabotage the car if she plans on double crossing them.
Lupin is great with kids, but is incredibly irresponsible. He isn’t a big fan of dealing with them but once he’s got attached to them, all hell breaks loose. He is the kind of person that if they asked for ice cream for dinner he would absolutely respond with “WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT”
Goemon rarely sleeps on missions, in part because he always wants to be alert but also in part because he sleeps like a rock. Like, if a shoot out fight started right over him he would be snoring on cloud 9.
Goemon tried smoking like Lupin and Jigen once but he coughed everything up for a solid minute and hasn’t touched another cigarette since.
Lupin will borrow Jigen’s suits once in a while when he needs to tone down the color a bit but Jigen refuses to touch Lupin’s stuff with a ten foot pole no matter how much Lupin insists he would look good with a pop of color.
Jigen has perfect pitch, which is one of the main things that plays into his taste in music.
Lupin has trash taste in music, like absolutely horrid and he is banned from touching the radio in the car or the portable one on look outs.
The gang will regularly play cards together, and of course Lupin, Jigen, and Fujiko are cheating but Fujiko will actively sabotage Jigen and Lupin if Goemon starts losing really bad. Goemon knows how to cheat, he just refuses to.
Based off that one McDonalds commercial with Goemon ordering ahead on his phone, I like to think that when he discovered he could order food over his phone he went a little nuts ordering his favorite food from the local Japanese joint down the street. Like, I'm talking several hundred dollars worth in a day.
Lupin and Fujiko aren’t the best at apologizing when they get into a fight with someone, but I like to think that when they try and apologize, it's sorta just a thoughtful gift they’ll slide to the person they were arguing with.
Lupin has never once forgotten Pop’s birthday and leaves him a little something every year. It's never anything stolen because he knows Zenigata wouldn't accept it if it was.
Lupin’s fur coat from his green jacket days (the one he was wearing in TWCFM) was one of the first extravagant things he bought with money he stole.
Lupin writes everything down, he’s the kind of person when presented with a riddle or a puzzle, he needs to do a hand full of scribbles that only make sense to him and then he’s got it solved. More specifically, he writes in his grandfather’s journal he found in the movie Blood Seal of The Eternal Mermaid.
Lupin has a pretty high pain tolerance but when he so much as gets a small cold, he’ll moan and groan about it.
Yikes, this got long! But I still have so much more, what is a little guy like me to do! Guess ill just have to actually post more rather than just rebloging stuff at 2 am...

I've been cooking, folks. Grilling. Simmering. Boiling. Various other synonyms. About *JigZeni* of all things. My fixation ship just HAD to be a rarepair, didn't it?? I tried to condense pretty much all of my thoughts into one post and I might have gotten a *bit* carried away, oops. It's probably not THAT long, but still. I regret nothing.
Tumblr media
- I imagine (in a general sense, headcanons aside, characters as base as can be) that if Lupin were to never make a move and continue with the coy "will we won't we" shit with Jigen and Zenigata, that they would get fed up to a point where they might attempt to seek solace with each other on a somewhat frequent basis.
It'd probably happen on accident at first; a chance meetup at a bar, the gang gets split up, Zeni has Jig cuffed in the back of a squad car just-another-day-of-the-week style, and one gets to talking while the other decides to humor for once. And I doubt either would be against chatting again after, and lord knows these two like their seedy bar trips, so why not let fate decide when?
- This can be to varying degrees of intimacy!! I love how all of the ships let you do that in some capacity, but JigZeni feels like one of the more flexible ones.
Whether it be as simple as complaining over drinks for a few hours or taking things a step further and heading back to some motel to "get it out of their systems" in "other" ways, ahem ahem.
Either way, they find that they enjoy the other's company and, to their abject horror, whatever weird friendship thing they've developed ends up turning into something genuine and (even worse) autonomous from Lupin.
Because what are they without him? What would they become?? They sure as hell don't know!! But hey, at least there's one other human being on this planet who GETS it.
- And I say that with relative confidence because I see Jigen and Zenigata being on the more (since a better word escapes me) *monogamous* side?? Like they put a lot of weight into a few singular relationships.
They have acquaintances, yes, but how many can they truly call a friend? How many can they trust, *beyond question*, to have their backs, to keep their secrets, to protect their lives, even?? Because trust is a big thing for these two!! Losing someone close hits them way harder than most, to a point where it's actively harmful and discourages them from pursuing anything concrete (also doesn't help that their luck with partners is absolute *shite* and things rarely ever end on a decent/ non-tragic note).
Jigen got SO lucky with Lupin. They ooze trust for each other, and the same goes for Goemon, too. And for a guy like Jigen, having not one but TWO whole-ass people he can depend on is absolutely WILD to him. They're all he needs, really. Zenigata still hasn't found something that concrete yet (on HIS side of the law, at least), and given the nature of the series and his role within it, there's an incredibly low likelihood he ever will.
But at least Jigen knows that pain. He's been there! He can relate! He can console! And Zenigata KNOWS it's legit because he's read, like, *so* many files about this guy. He's Lupin's not-that-much-better half ffs. Zenigata knows Jigen's Been Through It and the fact that Jigen even TRIES to relate despite his rough-ass persona really gets through to him in a way that no one else can.
- All of that baggage would bleed into why they're hesitant to blatantly pursue Lupin. Even though they know that Lupin CAN and WILL reciprocate (enthusiastically, even), Jigen and Zenigata, deep down, also know that he'd never be able to give "all of himself" to them like they are willing to for him.
Jigen is dissatisfied (probably even jealous) of Lupin and Fujiko's goings-on even though he knows it's a *consensual* sort of give-and-take, and you CANNOT tell me that Zenigata isn't the slightest bit jealous of Lupin's tight-knit camaraderie with his crew. "I could treat you so much better", "I wish I could have that attention all to myself" sorta vibes. Don't even get me STARTED on how the excluded party would feel about JigLup/ LuZeni, yeesh.
- Lupin loves them profoundly, no doubts there, but Lupin also loves *everyone*. Which basically turns into if they can't have all of *him*, then at least they can have all of *each other*, y'know??
Even if their friendship (or something more) lasting is impossible, at least they can pretend for a little while.
At least SOMEONE gets it, and that someone also happens to look pretty damn handsome in a fedora, too.
Plus Zenigata is Jigen's type. End of discussion.
now that you're down here in the trenches with me we can hold hands and enjoy overanalyzing hat trick together <3 <3
I DO wanna hear other people's thoughts, though! I can't help but think I'm missing SOMETHING despite writing them for so long (and there's only a handful of people out there who know I have been *writing them*, hooh boy). Hopefully I'll be able to get some of that stuff out there one of these days, but MAN am I a slow writer. Fingers crossed.

But not tired enough to turn one of his IV covered hands palm up to grab at Jigens hand and him doing that alone is enough to break Jigen cause in the end Lupin still trusts him to make the right decisions no matter how heartbreaking He just wishes, as Jigen cries into his neck, that Jigen didn’t have too
When Lupins unconscious, in these few long and tenuous hours before his drugs start to wear off and he's allowed just a few brief moments of lucidity, there are moments in between where Jigen will sit with him and wait for him to wake up, spending often all the day with him if he can before he's put back under just as Jigen has to leave.
During the bad period, that lengthy span of time when things often went from bad to worse and Lupins health deteriorated, he was put under for longer periods of time in the hope that his body would heal in his sleep.
During this bad period, when Lupin would be under Jigen would stay with him for longer time lengths, as if he was afraid of Lupin slipping away when he wasn't there by his side. And during this time, when Jigen would be alone with him, Jigen would often talk to him, when he was absolutely certain Lupin could not hear him.
It would be little things, small conversations about his day, things you would often talk about to people in these sorts of conditions when they couldn't enjoy the day themselves.
But as the day's would go on, and progress would continue to grind to a halt, the conversations got more personal; secret confessions, hard kept secrets, things he was certain Lupin doesn't know, and that had it not been for the current situation, probably would never leave Jigens mouth.
After a particularly bad spell, when Jigens nerves are shot and Lupin's body is all but weakened and beaten by the various ailments and issues plaguing him, Jigen finds a small spot beside him on the bed, and talks to the unconscious man.
Jigen is not stupid. He knows things are bleak. He also knows this has been a long time coming; poor Lupin, he had been falling apart for years, he hadn't been the same when they reunited as young adults. . . who knows how long ago now. . hell he wasn't even the same back when they were kids after that train accident. Something always felt off after it, but Jigen could never pinpoint it.
Maybe even now he still couldn't.
Lupin had not been right for years. The incident with Goemon, Albert and Tomoe had beaten him in far more wort ways than anyone outside of Jigen could have imagined, no matter how well Lupin kept a lid on it, and Jigen knew that deep down those new situations had been partially to blame for Lupins weakness in both spirit and body, amongst other things of course.
He knew Lupin was failing in many ways and that everything was boiling down to the penultimate decision in Lupin's life of what would come of this moment and whatever came after it. But deep down, in the small private and secluded darkness in his head, Jigen had begun to wonder idly if there ever would be an "after" or if they would never move on past this point.
When Lupin's progress completely stalled, that familiar darkness in his head grew each day and Jigen never knew how to handle the thought that came with it. But still he held out hope that he was just being paranoid, that this was simply the fall before the rise. That was until a whitecoat had pulled him to the side and told him about the infection growing in Lupin's battered and broken femur that had started to spread throughout his body.
Upon hearing the news Jigen had actually laughed, a laugh so breathless and winded and mildly insane sounding that the doc staring at him might have actually had thought about throwing him in the psych-ward.
But it was not Jigen cracking.  . .not yet anyways.
No it was simply Jigen laughing at the absurdity of it all. Why if he didn't know any better at this point he would swear that Lupin was trying to di-
. . . . .
no. . .
maybe. . .
but why. . .did he really want to leave. . .did he really wanna leave him behind?
No. . .No Lupin may have been cynical and jaded at times but he was never cruel, he wouldn't intentionally leave him behind. . .
. . .would he. . .?
That thought had plagued Jigen for days after that. When the time finally came when the doctors couldn't combat the infection in a timely manner and a decision had to be made on whether or not to let the leg go, Jigen found himself once again by Lupin's side, sitting in that small space beside him like he had been for weeks at this point.
Lupin had just fallen asleep, having weakly given Jigen the go ahead to make the decision for him. Because he trusted him, even now. . .even now he trusted him and long after Lupin had fallen back to sleep, Jigen had pressed his face into his hair and silently sobbed into the dark strands when he knew Lupin couldn't hear him.
Because the look in Lupin's eye that he had seen had given him a weird empty feeling, one that had cemented the thought of Lupin finally wishing to give up in his head. Lupin looked tired, exhausted even. But it was far from the drugs and even the pain that combated them that caused it. Because he had seen that look in Lupin's eyes before. When Lupin was at his lowest, bleakest moment when Jigen was lucky to pull him away from the edge and nearly failed doing so a few times.
Was this it?
Was Lupin really ready?
. . . . .Was Jigen ready.
Jigen loved Lupin, he loved him more than anything he had ever loved before in this world. More than his gun, his hat, his reputation, hell maybe even his family. Lupin had been the best thing to ever happen to him, and Jigen would do anything for him, and Lupin knew that. But Jigen wasn’t certain if he had the strength to do this, to let him go if Lupin was truly ready to go. He wasn’t sure he would survive it. He barely did before during their separation, and he was lucky that Lupin even came back to him. If he made a decision now then. . .Lupin would never. . .he’d never. . .never come- no no no Jigen starts to cry again. Because he can’t. He can’t and he wont. He wouldn’t survive losing lupin, not again, not now, not ever and he tells the sleeping man that, pleads to his hair to not leave him behind please don’t don’t leave me now. . I won’t. . .I won’t- A sob, a heart wrenching gut sucking sob. It tapers off a little, and Jigen sternly tells the sleeping man under his arm:
“Tomorrow’s the day We make the decision. If you wanna go you can, I won't stop you if that’s really what you want, you know I wouldn't be able to anyways.  .  . I just want one thing-” “Just take me with you. . .. please just take me with you if you go. .”

Follow-up question! How did Jigen cope with his decision to leave Aiko behind?
putting this under the cut because WOW this got a LOT longer than i thought it would
the same way he copes with everything else /hj
but frfr, in a way, he didn't? or at least, not the first time.
i didn't really cover any of this in The Aible since it was more jigen's story than aiko's, but basically the headcanon is: jigen initially takes up stealing so he and his sister can survive; he's just a kid and it's not like their dad's doing a good job taking care of them, so he's just doing the best he can with such limited options. it starts small, gradually building up to bigger and better things, and once his dad takes notice of his skill, he exploits the hell out of it.
before long he more or less becomes his dad's little unwilling partner in crime, and though he doesn't like it, it does lead to his dad developing a weird sort of respect for him, and life gets a little bit easier for both him and aiko as a result.
then his dad gets into debt with the mob and asks him for help selling off his sister in order to pay it back.
he shot him and ran without hesitation.
problem is, dear old dad was pretty well regarded in the underworld, and by killing him jigen had basically put a big red flashing target on his back. if he went back to aiko, someone would surely go after her sooner or later in order to get to him. he hated the idea of leaving her all alone, but it was better than the alternative. so he layed low for a while, playing with the cards he had been dealt. he stuck with what he was good at, not caring if he was just digging his own grave at that point. there wasn't anything else left for him to do and he'd much rather ruin his own life than his sister's.
he had already dabbled in alcohol and tobacco before, but he especially doubled down on it after that. drugs, booze, sex; he drowned himself in whatever vices he could get his hands on just to get his mind off of home. after a while that became his new normal.
over the years he garnered quite the reputation for his skills as a hired gun. problem was that most people interpreted "hired gun" as just "hitman" and little else. truthfully he didn't mind all that much--he was so detached from everyone and everything around him that he never paid any real mind to what he was doing anymore--but after a while it just got monotonous. boring.
then a certain monkey-faced thief shows up and starts causing a lot of problems for a lot of people.
some guy wanted him dead, and the first time jigen got asked to kill him, to his surprise, he couldn't. and not due to lack of trying, mind you. it was the first time since he could remember that he'd emptied the chamber of his magnum on a hit. and he liked it.
more and more people wanted that bastard dead, and each and every one of them wanted jigen to kill him at some point or another. and each and every time, he just couldn't do it. it was the most invigorated he had felt in years. it almost became a game between them, and he couldn't get enough of it.
then someone brings his little sister into it. needless to say that was his last job as a hitman.
lupin immediately noticed that his sparring partner was acting strange, and as soon as he found out why, he quickly devised a plan to help him. he claimed it was just because he couldn't stand to see anyone mistreating such a cute girl, and there was certainly some truth to that, but it was more because he had actually come to like the guy. it was the first time the two of them had ever worked together, and they made a surprisingly good team. everything went off without a hitch.
jigen, meanwhile, wasn't really sure how to feel. obviously he was happy his sister was safe, and it felt good to see her again, but at the same time, there was no denying that things were tense at first. they had both gone through hell, and it was wearing on both of them. the sudden realization that she had grown up without him didn't help, either.
still, the whole situation put things into perspective. he had given up everything thinking it would keep her safe, and in one fell swoop it all blew up in his face. on the one hand, he was relieved to find he didn't have to completely cut himself off from her anymore. on the other, it only meant that she was still in danger either way.
he couldn't stay, that would only make her more likely to be targeted again. but if he left, she wouldn't have anyone to protect her, either. he didn't want to drag her into his mess any more than he already had, but he didn't want to completely abandon her, either. no matter how much she begged him to stay, no matter how much he wanted to stay, they both knew it just wasn't feasible.
so, they reached a compromise. he still keeps his distance, but they still keep in touch. he visits every once in a while, makes sure everything is alright, wash, rinse, repeat. it works for him, but now he's faced with a new problem: what does he do now? like hell he's going back to taking hits after what just happened, but what else is a newly ex-hitman to do, anyway?
fortunately for him it's not long until lupin tracks him down, and this time he's got an offer. a job he needs a second person for, and one with good aim at that. and while he probably shouldn't accept job offers from people he's tried to kill before, it's not like jigen has anything better to do. plus he did help him rescue ai. he owes him one anyway.
it starts with one job. then another. then it becomes a regular thing. then they start calling themselves "partners". they start living together, lupin gets a girlfriend, they befriend a samurai, you already know how this goes.
for the first time in his life, he doesn't hate himself. he has people who care about him, who make him happy consistently. and he wouldn't trade any of it for the world.
tl;dr: self-destructive tendencies and eventually an actual support system

How Lupin The Third Characters Would Confess Their Feelings To Someone
Lupin: -He is always charming, nothing can change that
-He would take his s/o to a fancy restaurant, buy their favorite meal
-After that he would take them on a night walk around the town, he found a beautiful place before and shows it to his s/o
-Inside is kinda nervous about their response but you live once and he can’t hold it back anymore
-Lupin would take their hand gently and hold it, look into their eyes
-“There’s something new in me, and it’s because of you”
-Cups their face and smiles
-“I have feelings for you, dear. Strong, beautiful feelings”
-Kisses their hand, won’t do anything big, he doesn’t want them to get uncomfortable
Jigen: -He denies those feelings for a long time, he thinks they will pass
-Guess what, they don’t, he can’t make them go away
-It will take him a long time to accept them let alone confess to the person
-He isn’t very formal about it, he just wants to get it off his chest
-Jigen would offer them a silent walk, throughout it he thinks about how to tell them
-Stops at some moment and looks at them
-“Hey uh, can I tell you something?”
-Has his hands in his pockets for comfort
-“There’s something about you, I don’t know what, but… It makes me nervous.”
-“I like your presence, it doesn’t bother me surprisingly. I like your face, it too doesn’t bother me.”
-He feels awkward and wants to stop right there, but he has gone too far to escape
-“I like you, I have strange feelings for you”
-He just says that and waits for their respond
-His ears are red, he has his eyes closed, but they can’t see them anyway
-Just say something nice in response and he’ll be happy
Goemon: -He is very determined to repress any kind of feelings, samurai can’t be emotional
-For him, finding out that he has feelings for someone is dramatic, it can’t be, how, he worked on it so much, how can he be so weak?
-Tries not to show it, but fails
-If Goemon was to confess to someone he’d be very formal, not romantic at all
-He would walk up to them and ask if he can take them for a private walk
-He takes them to a park
-Takes a deep breath and prepares himself
-“My head has been messing with me a lot lately, to the point where I can’t think straight”
-“I am ashamed because of that, I should not have these feelings. But it’s hard to deny them.”
-He looks at them straight in the face, with a serious look
-“To end my misery I’ll tell you what’s been bothering me”
-“I’ve developed feelings for you”
Fujiko: -She like Lupin likes to charm people, but to her close ones she’s softer
-She would take them to a cafe
-She would bring them a fancy present like a piece of jewelry or a book they wanted, something in their style
-“Who would have thought that I would fall for someone so hard? I didn’t!”
-“I have feelings for you, you made me believe in the beauty of human love again”
Zenigata: -He doesn’t want these feelings, he doesn’t have time for them!
-He thinks they will turn him down and is too afraid to admit to himself that he’s falling for them
-After some time he’ll get himself to tell them, just because he can’t think about anything else
-He would take them to the museum, or a park, or just his house, depending on his situation
-Is very nervous, but won’t back up, not now
-“There’s something I need to tell you”
-“To put it in short, I… I like you, too much, I mean in a good way!”
-“Just needed to get it off my chest, I completely understand if you don’t return the feeling”

ok so the cute but also kinda sad angsty idea has to do with a concept i love very much in Lupin, especially PT2 so you know how the gang know tapcode
well in LJS Lupin gets hurt right and because of the machines hes on he cant talk, at least vocally Well I had the cutest idea where, the downside to lupin being in the hospital is that Jigen can’t always stay with him, there’s things he has to do, things he’s in charge of when Lupins down for the count that he has to take care of and as a result he does leave once in a while but always makes sure to come back at a specific time.
Well one time when he’s coming back, he passes the nurses station and overhears a conversation between two nurses as he does. Their both talking about a patient in a room, and Jigen recognizes the room number their talking about. It’s Lupins, so he listens in to the conversation and it’s interesting.
As it turns out, once in a while, when the drugs that keep him under start to wear off, the patient starts to move a little and rhythmically starts tapping his finger(s) against the metal of the bed with his finger nail all up until they put him back under again.
One of the nurses mentions how strange this is, considering all the patients she’s had in the past simply wake up trying to rip their stuff out.
The one she’s talking to agrees, then mentions that the pattern is so consistent that she can almost do it her self, and as a joke starts to do it herself, it’s not as precise, but when Jigen listens in he’s really surprised by what he hears
It’s tapcode And not only that
it’s Jigen’s name
Lupins been sleep tapping his name
Now
Cut to a few weeks later, the situation changes, Lupin has to be transferred out from the facility he's in for his own safety to a more secure location Lupins memory is excellent, but so is his olfactory memory, he recognizes things by smell, and with his eyesight near trashed at this point, smell is the best thing he has to go on. He recognizes the smells of people closest to him, he recognizes the smells of the nurses and docs and of the room he was in.
So when he comes too almost immediately after transport to the new facility, he basically panics, nothing smells familiar, no one no thing, nothing it’s all different, and the different smells scare him cause it’s nothing he’s come to recognize, plus there’s no Jigen smell or even the lingering sent of him anywhere so of course he’s nervous.
But there is one scent. One scent he recognizes, and it’s strong too, and he hears it so obviously it’s there and it’s talking to someone.
So he starts tapping, but he’s confused, he’s taps Jigens name first and suddenly the voices stop and his brain doesn’t compute the lack of voices so he keeps tapping, still tapping Jigens name and frantically asking where he is.
But it’s not Jigens voice who calms him, tells him what’s going on where he is and just basically tries to calm him down because his heart rate is sky rocketing and faltering despite the drugs because Lupins basically panicking and his body can’t handle the stress of it right now
But the voice is strong, burly, one he recognizes and over the years one he’s come to trust, so little by little he does begin to calm down, the drugs they also give him to relax him also help too.
When everything calms down, the burly voice stops talking to him and Lupin hears footsteps, so he starts tapping again all tired telling the smell not to leave, not yet anyways,
don’t go. . .please don’t
The footsteps stop some feet away, Lupin can’t tell, but he hears the voice, the voice sounds sad, but after a few seconds of silence and the soft creaking of wood like the voice is leaning against something, the voice says it will. The smell comes back, he hears the creaking of a chair and the scent is strong and it’s close by and it’s calming.
And the recognizable smell is still strong long after sleep takes hold, and the voice finally leaves

I want to know what y’all think about the gang and panic attacks. Who has them, what triggers them, all the details. You figure as someone with panic disorder I would be good at panic attack headcanons but nope…I am not…
