I just read an interesting isekai, harem uppermoons x reader (gender neutral) fanfic on ao3 called the awakening of the demon king by wholesome_sliced_bread and plot so far is amazing!

In a nutshell, reader found a dead Muzan and ate him and they became the Demon King. (I find this terribly disturbing and funny at the same time).

You were just a student but then you stumbled across Muzan’s corpse and nom nom nom. ✨ expensive mukbang ✨ You got isekaied to the Demon Slayer world. (I drew another version of reader for another fanfic— I’m not running out of ideas at this point. But I drew them female huhu I should’ve drawn them ambiguous.)

Since you became the Demon King, all of the demons under Muzan’s creation, especially the Twelve Kizuki are under your control.

The original story of Demon Slayer might change depending on Reader, who is a fan of Demon Slayer in the real world, meaning they know everything what will happen to the story, who dies and survives, and how the original story will end. The fate lies upon their hands.

Muzan walked into your room. You haven't made a noise since he put you down for a nap.

He found you staring at the flower themed mobile. He cooed at you as he picked you up.

He had you in his hip while he took a walk around the castle letting you see each demons domains.

You babbled as you played with the buttons on his best.

"My Lord I didn't know you had a kid." Douma commented, seeing him walk by.

"I Don't."

"Please stop pulling my hair." Kokushibo said while grabbing your hands that were tangled in his long locs. You were standing on one of his legs while he was sitting.

Once he got a hold of both of your hands you started to dance

"Da Da Da" You babbled.

"Yeah, that's right dada. Can you say it?"

"Da da... Dadaa."

"Yeah, I'm dada." His blew raspberries into your cheeks.

You giggled and squirmed.

He knew you were a half demon from the start.

You were presented to Douma as a present from one of his followers, you're unique like him. Visually different (I was thinking something like an albino or vitiligo) but still adorable to look at.

"Aww you look so cute Y/n!" He exclaimed as he took you from his follower's arms. You had on an outfit identical to his with a matching hat.

You giggled as he tickled your stomach before sitting you on a soft pillow next to his own.

You always sat next to him and his followers came and visited.

"Do you want your binkie?" Akaza tried to calm you down but nothing was working.

He tried feeding you, cradling you, swaddling you, putting you down for a nap and more.

You would not stop crying.

There was one thing they he hadn't tried yet but he was too embarrassed to do it. Your screams were enough to drive him to do it.

He sung to calm you down.

It worked.

"Ready or not here I come." Daki took of running to find you.

You giggled, not so quietly, as you watched her run around while you were hiding behind Gyotaro.

"Gyotaro where did they go?" Daki whispered as if she didn't know you were behind him. He shrugged cause you to giggle harder.

"GOTCHA" She exclaimed and tried to reach around her brother. You screeched and tried to run but she caught you and threw you in the air.

"HAHA I WIN."

"DON'T THROW THEM!"

• Would be horribly alarmed

• wouldn't know what to do because of his loyalty to Muzan but also his loyalty to you as your boyfriend

• he'd be stunned knowing you could walk in the sun amd understand muzans interest in you but after a while of thought he'd hide you somewhere safe

• well he thought was safe

• He'd have to repeatedly find different places for you to hide as Muzan kept finding you so you'd be in a different place every day.

• he'd be suffering aswell at Muzans wrath but also his own inner conflict about where his loyalty actually lies

• Muzan would use threat after threat after threat and even physical things to get Kokushibo to tell him where you were but he wouldn't no matter what

• because his loyaltys lay with you.

Douma

Would make the people of his cult help hide you

He'd straight go to hide you because you are the only person who has shown him proper affection and he doesn't want that to go away

He would admire you and beg you to tell him how you managed to walk in the sun but would remind himself there were bigger matters to handle

No matter the torture he underwent by muzan and the others in the 12 kizuki he wasn't letting go of you

Would always make sure nobody was following him on his way to see you

After finding out that Muzan wants to eat you he would try and be his normal self whilst mentally shitting himself thst someone would find you

He would always have someone to protect you whether it was him or one of his followers

He'd give false locations of where he had 'seen' you last but always in the day knowing that Muzan can't go in daylight just like thr rest of them

He isn't giving up on you anytime soon

Akaza

He would refuse to harm you or let anyone else harm you so his first instinct was to go into hiding and not inform anyone at any point of where you two were

Avoiding Muzan like the plague

He'd be wary about going out and only going when you two got really hungry to get a human

He already lost Koyuki, he refuses to lose you to especially to Lord Muzan

You guys would go from one hiding spot to another every week to make sure there was no risk of him or any of the others finding you

Would be desperate for Muzans praise but also doesn't want to lose the feeling you give her and the affection you show her

She would half hide you half leave you alone whilst she made her decision

If she chose to hide you, she would have to flee the Entertainment district and not tell anyone where she was going

If she chose to turn you in she would probably have that on her conscience for the rest of her days until eventually slain

Gyutaro

First reaction would be to flat down refuse and not turn you in to Muzan

You were the first one apart from Daki who showed him the love he actually deserved, who made him feel worth it when he didn't himself.

Would probably force Daki to hide you for him against her wishes as she is loyal to Muzan

After separated from her, he would constantly be at your side and in the day Daki would force one of the girls from her house to be with you instead

He would make you go into different spots regularly to throw any other demons off of your trail in fear of someone finding you

Would be constantly paranoid about everyone and everything around you

10/10 would make you trail after Daki if for his sanity more than yours

Summary- Short story for each demon interacting with a human child- Kokushibo, Akaza, Douma, Hantengu, Gyokko, Daki

Kokushibo

As Kokushibo walks through a peaceful village, he notices a small child playing with a wooden sword. Intrigued by the child's innocence, he decides to approach and kneels down to the child's level. The child stopped and looked at him wide eyed, '' Are you a samurai, mister?'' Kokushibo expression softened, ''Indeed, little one.''

The child jumped up in excitement, ''Wow, Can you show me some cool moves? Pretty please!?''

For a moment, Kokushibo, contemplates the request. Surprisingly, he decides to humour the child. With grace and precision, he performs a series of fluid sword movements, creating an intricate display of swordsmanship.

The child clapped in glee, '' That was amazing! Can I try too?''Kokushibo hands the child a small, wooden practice sword, showing them a basic stance. The child mimics his movements, albeit with less finesse. ''Excellent effort, young one... With dedication, you may become a skilled warrior.''

Douma

''Why do you have fangs? Are you a scary monster?"

Douma was taken aback but then chuckled softly, amused by the innocence of the child. "These fangs are a part of what I am, I need them to eat!''

The child, not completely satisfied with the answer, pointed to Douma's mouth and said, "Can I see them up close? I want to look!!''

Douma hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to allow the child to get so close. However, he had no ill intentions and decided to humour her curiosity. With a nod, he opened his mouth wide, revealing his sharp fangs. Unfazed by the intimidating sight, The child leaned in closer to inspect the fangs. She reached out tentatively and touched one of them with her small fingers.

"They're sharp," she observed with wide-eyed wonder.

Douma, surprised by the child's boldness, couldn't help but smile. "Indeed, they are. But remember, appearances can be deceiving. It's essential to look beyond what you see on the surface."

Akaza

The moment the girl spotted Akaza, her eyes widened with excitement. She approached him fearlessly, her curiosity overcoming any apprehension she might have had. "Wow! Your hair is so pink! It's like cherry blossoms! Can I touch it?" she exclaimed, her enthusiasm contagious.

Akaza, taken aback by the girl's boldness, hesitated for a moment. Demons were not accustomed to such innocent interactions. However, something about the child's pure fascination touched a chord within him. "Uh, well, it's not something people usually ask," he replied, unsure of how to respond to such an unusual request.

The little girl beamed, undeterred by Akaza's initial uncertainty. "Please? I promise I won't pull it or anything. I just want to feel it! It looks so soft and pretty!"

Akaza couldn't help but crack a small smile at the girl's sincerity. Slowly, he nodded, allowing her to approach. Gently, she reached out and delicately ran her fingers through the strands of his pink hair. The texture surprised her, and a giggle escaped her lips. "It's softer than I imagined! Your hair is really nice, mister demon!"

Akaza found himself chuckling. Emboldened by the positive response, the girl continued to play with Akaza's hair, creating impromptu hairstyles and sharing her infectious laughter.

Hantengu (Main body)

The child's eyes fixated on the peculiar lump on Hantengu's head. "What's that big lump on your head?" she inquired, her concern evident in her voice.

Hantengu's faces displayed a mix of embarrassment and discomfort.'' I- I dont know, I've always had it! I'm not lying this time either!''

The child, being a compassionate soul, couldn't bear to see anyone in distress. Without a second thought, she took a step forward and planted a small, innocent kiss on the lump. Hantengu's face immediately transformed into expressions of surprise and gratitude.

"There, now it's better," The child said with a smile, her eyes sparkling with kindness.

Hantengu, touched by the child's pure heart, felt a warmth spreading through his body. "Thank you, little one. You possess a kindness that is rare even among humans."

Gyokko

Gyokko observed the child doodle in the dirt with a small stick, a display of untapped creativity. Intrigued, Gyokko decided to share his passion for painting with the young artist.

Gyokko teleported beside the child. In his hands, he conjured a set of vibrant paints and brushes, as if summoning colours from the very air. The child's eyes widened in amazement as Gyokko presented the tools of creation.

"Art is like the dance of a butterfly," Gyokko spoke, his voice gentle like a breeze. "Let the colors flow, and your heart guide the brush."

Gyokko dipped his brush into a pool of blue paint and began to demonstrate fluid strokes on a blank canvas. the child, fascinated, mimicked the motions with a mixture of excitement and concentration.

Gyokko and the child painted side by side, creating a masterpiece that mirrored the beauty of their newfound friendship.

In the quiet of the night, Gyokko spoke words of encouragement to the child. "Every stroke tells a story, and every colour holds an emotion. Let your imagination soar like a bird in the sky, young one."

Under Gyokko's guidance, the child discovered not only the art of painting but also the power of expression and self-discovery.

Daki

Daki's beauty was enhanced by the intricate layers of silk, vibrant colours, and elegant accessories. She moved through the crowd gracefully, her presence drawing both admiration and whispers. Unknown to her, a wide-eyed human had been trailing behind, mesmerized by the ethereal vision.

With her innocent curiosity, tugged on the hem of Daki's exquisite kimono, her eyes filled with admiration. Daki, though known for her short temper, couldn't help but soften at the sight of the little girl.

"Wow, you look so pretty!" The child exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with wonder.

Daki turned her attention to the child, a small smile playing on her lips. "Thank you, little one. You seem to have an eye for beauty," she replied, her voice as silky as her attire.

Undeterred by the imposing aura of a demon, asked, "Can I look pretty like you too? I want to wear such beautiful clothes!"

Daki crouched down to the child eye level, her long, silky hair cascading around her. "Of course, you can, little one. Beauty is not just in the clothes we wear but in the kindness of our hearts.''

As Daki spoke, she noticed the simple charm bracelet on the child's wrist. She reached into the folds of her kimono and took a delicate flower hairpin. "Here, take this. It will make you look even more beautiful."

The child's eyes widened as she accepted the gift, a radiant smile spreading across her face. Daki, for a moment, found herself enchanted by the purity of the child's joy.

"Thank you, miss!" The child exclaimed, twirling around with newfound delight.

Daki watched as she skipped away, her heart touched by the innocence of a child who saw beyond the dangers of the world. As the festival continued, Daki couldn't help but feel a warmth in her heart, a reminder that beauty, in its truest form, transcends appearances and lies within the bonds that connect people.

As soon as you walk up to him, you realize he basically doesn't even have any cheeks.

Your confused and not sure what to do, but ends up trying to pinch whatevers underneath his lower pair of eyes

Hes confused, staring at you with all 6 of his eyes basically demanding an explanation

But when you walk away without saying a word he gets even more confused, starting to get a bit mad from it being unreasonable

You ended up being on your knees infront of him the next night...

He greets you happily, asking what your doing here thinking your here because you miss him

When you suddenly pinch his cheek, he dramatically leaves his mouth agape acting shocked

Suddenly acts happy, pinching your cheek aswell giving your other cheek a little kiss

It ends up backfiring with you as red as a tomato, sitting beside him as some followers come inside the room because he forced you to do so..

A small ’huh?’ can be heard from him

surprisingly he flushes a little red but turns back to normal instantly.

Asks you why you did that out of the blue

“I thought it'd be funny.” he turns confused, but chuckles feeling amused.

He screams, horrified dodging your hand as you were about to pinch him

Hes basically crawling on the wall beside you now...

You had to end up apologizing trying to reassure him you weren't trying to do anything harmful to him

(I'm too lazy to do his clones)

You took a while to convince her into teleporting you near her just so you could pull this off

You had to slip your hand under her long ass curtain bangs, just to pinch her cheek.

She doesn't respond, but eventually realizes what you did after a while

You fall into a shoji door below you teleporting you into the platform infront of her again.

"I love you, but don't do that please." You apologize to her but she somehow ends up apologizing too..

Hes confused when you randomly just walked up to him, pinching his cheek.

He starts to seem amused, kissing your cheek while tackling you onto the ground

"You're cute when your flustered.."

You pinched her cheek suddenly as she was doing her makeup,

She turns her head to you looking confused with you two having a staring contest for a while.

"Huh? Are you feeling okay?" She just thinks its because you miss her attention and starts showering you with some love

Hes confused. Scratching his neck, wondering why you did that

"Sorry, I just wanted to see your reaction" He stops scratching his neck, his mouth slightly open seemingly confused yet surprised

"Ehhh...m'kay then...?" He says in confused tone, planting a little kiss on your forehead as he leaves going back to what he was doing.

Hello. How about Upper Moons + Muzan's reaction on their S/O, upon learning that they are demons, going full "okay" mode and offer some of their blood? I can't help but think that this is quite romantic?

Daki

(Platonic)

Daki normally didn't care what humans thought but when it came to you she was terrified of telling you she was a demon. She didn't want you to be scared of her :( but after her brother gave her a pep talk she started to consider telling you. You would probably find out eventually so it would be best now to tell you. She told you she was a demon expecting you to scream or cry or run away from her but all you did was nod and hold up your arm. "Demons need human blood to live yes? You can have some of mine."

Gyutaro

You could tell your boyfriend was anything but human. And this didn't bother you. Even if you didn't know what he was you figured that he would tell you when he's ready. Now Gyutaro had no knowledge of any of this. He was sure you thought he was a human. He prepared a whole speech for you explaining that he was a demon and how he's sorry that he kept it from you for so long but he didn't know how to tell you. In the middle of the speech you just started laughing hysterically. Gyutaro stopped "what's so funny?" He asked kind of worried. "I know your a demon dear you didn't do a good job with hiding it" you said still laughing. Gyutaro had never been more embarrassed in his life. Just as he was about to open his mouth to say something you said "hey demons have to have blood to survive. Are you hungry do you need some of my blood?"

Gyokko

It wasn't exactly hard to figure out he was a demon. He didn't hide the fact that he was a demon because you could honestly tell. He did however hide the fact that he had to eat humans. He didn't know how you would react and he didn't want to find out. He would never forgive himself if he made you scared or uncomfortable. But eventually you did find out and you understood. It's how he has to survive so your not going to stop him. You offered him some of your blood and he of course declined claiming he didn't want to hurt you

Hantengu

He was really worried about scaring you:( again you could tell that he was a demon. But he tried to hide most of what being a demon really meant. Meaning he didn't tell you about eating humans or how he could regenerate his limbs. But when he did tell you he was a nervous wreck holding your hand begging for you not to be mad at him :( you of course weren't and did something that completely shocked him "hey do you need any of my blood?" you asked. He shook his head "nonononono I could never take any of your blood!!!"

Nakime

Nakime did a pretty good job at blending in with humans but she couldn't keep it up forever. She had a good excuse on why she couldn't go out during daytime but she felt bad rejecting your cooking or not being able to stay with you a lot during the night so she eventually told you. "Okay. Thank you for telling me" you said to your girlfriend. Nakime was expecting a bit more of a reaction but she was happy you weren't scared of her. You later offered her some of your blood and she accepted your offer she only took a little bit though she didn't know how much blood loss it took for it to be dangerous for a human but she didn't want to risk it.

Akaza

Akaza understands why you would be scared of him but on the other hand it filled his heart with sadness to think of you being scared of him or running away from him so it took him a while to tell you. But after a year or so of you two dating he figured he had to tell you. One night when you got home from work he greeted you at the door and guided you to the kitchen. He held your hand the whole time he was telling you. Scared you would run away from him or try and back away from him. But you didn't do either of those things you just patiently waited for him to finish talking. You nodded and said "thank you for telling me." Then smiled at him. After that you started to offer him some of your blood. He declined everytime. Even if taking a little bit wouldn't hurt you he doesn't think he's worthy of drinking your blood.

Douma

He knew it was dangerous being in a relationship with you. All the danger it put you in but he was sure to protect you. And Douma thinks not telling you he's a demon is protecting you and arguably he's right but in the back of his mind he knows that he would have to tell you sooner or later. One winter night he came back with 2 small children. There names were Daki and Gyutaro. He knew that if he was going to raise them and turn them into strong demons he would have to tell you about who he actually is. You sat there with the two children asleep in your lap as he explained everything. You nodded your head after he finished talking. "Do you need any of my blood?" You said looking at him. He grinned "just a little. I don't want to take to much~"

Kokushibo

Somehow he was able to hide the fact that he's a demon from you for a good while but when he did tell you he wasn't worried. If you ran from him or were scared of him you simply weren't the one. No matter how much his heart ached to think of it his mind he knew that was the truth. One night he sat down and motioned you to come sit on his lap. And as he played with your hair he figured this would be a perfect time to tell you. He told you that he was a demon. You turned to look at him. "I see. Do you need my blood are you hungry?"

Muzan

For the first time in forever he was worried about what someone thought of him and that upset him because how dare you???? He's the king of demons he shouldn't be concerned over what a mere mortal thinks. But here he was trying to find ways he could tell you he was a demon. Not just a demon the king of all demons. When you got home from work you were met with your husband pacing back and forth looking awfully worried. You asked him what was wrong and he just responded with "we need to talk" his words kind of scared you. Was he mad at you? You couldn't remember doing anything to make him upset. You sat down and Muzan explained to you that he was a demon. And after he was finished you just pulled your sleeve down and said "don't worry I don't mind. Are you hungry? You can have some of my blood."

However, he knew that you weren’t human. You didn’t smell like human flesh. He asked about it, and you giggled while stating that you don’t give information out for free. He had a few jokes up his sleeve, but it was more like quick bits of sarcasm. It was enough to get you to laugh, though.

So, you took off your top hat and brushed your bangs out of your face. Muzan got a full view of your phosphorescent eyes, and he was entranced. You explained that you used to be a grim reaper who was still obsessed with death, and you were from the year 1876 in England, which was very intriguing to him.

As much as he wanted to preserve bodies for you to experiment on, it was usually always messy when a demon killed a human. If you wanted, he would give you a messy corpse to try and ‘fix it up’ and make into a doll. There was one time where he watched you do it and he saw the cinematic record of the person. In fact, he was kind of glad that you had this power over him because he was secretly afraid his hunger for power would hurt you in some way.

Douma

He kind of burst into the funeral parlor when he smelled flesh, but what he did not expect was for you and one of your dolls to come out of two coffins that you had presumably built. He’s seen people use corpses as sacrifices, but he hasn’t seen people reanimate them into self-reliant (kind of) dolls.

I feel like he would also know that you weren’t human, but he wasn’t able to sense the power you actually held. He always made you laugh, so you told him that you were a grim reaper. You even showed him your eyes, and he thought they were beautiful (but not as beautiful as his).

You told him that you were a foreigner, originally hailing from England. Even though you were retired, you were still very involved in death. You designed coffins to make a profit, but you would experiment on the bodies before they had to be locked in the wooden boxes.

He would use some of his worshipers to give you as cadavers (I like this word for some reason) to experiment on. He once watched you as you made a doll, and he got to see the entirety of the person’s life because of the cinematic records. He was amazed at the things you could do.

When he learned about your scythe, I think he was a bit intimidated because 1) only you could wield it and 2) you were able to kill him in less than a moment’s notice. But maybe that was for the best. He thought it much better to be killed by the person he loved most rather than Muzan, since it would be ironic because you actually made him feel love.

Akaza

Not only did he smell blood, but he also was sent there to gather information. He was told that you were not to be killed because you were a powerful ally, but he had his doubts. However, his thoughts of you changed when he saw a reanimated corpse in the lobby of your funeral parlor and you giggling about how you got closer.

It’s then that he knew you weren’t human, which might be the real reason why you were on the safelist. I feel like he could be pretty goofy when he tries, so he did make you laugh in order to get information out of you (which was a weird and certainly unique experience).

You explained that you were a grim reaper that came here from England. You had retired from your original job and decided that starting up a funeral parlor would be the next course of action because you still wanted to be involved in death. You even removed your top hat to show him your face, and he had to admit that you were beautiful. 

Again, when a demon kills a human, it’s totally messy. Unless you wanted a messed up human carcass to fix up and make into a doll, you aren’t getting any more human bodies aside from the ones that died in a more normal way. He wasn’t completely apathetic (as seen when Rengoku got turned into a donut), so when he saw the Cinematic Record he knew that they lived a wonderful life up until the end.

When he learned about your scythe, I feel like he fell for you even more. You were the only one who could correctly wield it and use it, and you were able to kill him if you so desired (not that you did). He always gravitated towards strong people, so you and him were a perfect match.

Daki

She was ordered by Muzan to go ask for information from you, and she thought you were a human so this was going to be easy for her. Unfortunately, what she did not expect was for you to come out of a coffin from the right and one of your ‘dolls’ to come out of a coffin from the left.

That’s also how she knew you weren’t human, as necromancy was looked down upon by all of humankind. Even though she was a bit disturbed by it, she was even more weirded out when you told her your price for information. She got pretty annoyed, but eventually she did it.

You told her that you were a retired grim reaper from England, and that you decided to start a funeral parlor in order to see if you could bring life to the dead. No experiment had been successful since you couldn’t put a soul back into their bodies, but you got closer. Daki became super interested when you said that you were from a different country, so she continued to ask you questions.

I feel like if she is in a good mood then she would bring a dead human body for you to toy around with and fashion into a doll, as long as she got to actually dress the doll up. She’s still a bit childish, after all. I feel like her favorite (but also least favorite) part would be seeing the person’s record because it’s the only way she got to see how a normal human life was supposed to be like.

She was definitely intimidated by your scythe since it could easily kill her with just one swing. However, she figured that you loved her too much to use it out of a random urge. So maybe it was a good thing that you had something that could stop her.

Gyutaro

Daki had told him how weird you were, and he was intrigued. So he decided to pay you an unannounced visit. The moment he opened the door, he was ambushed by a doll that he could sense was (or at least used to be) human. It didn’t take long for him to rip it to shreds, but you were a bit annoyed.

He then asked what exactly you were, to which you responded that you didn’t give information out for free. Gyutaro was completely concerned when you stated your price since almost anyone could get you to laugh for valuable information, but the more he asked questions the more he got to know about you.

You were an ex-grim reaper who dipped your feet into necromancy fairly often, trying to see if it was in fact possible to bring someone back to life. You have had partial success, but the beings didn’t have a soul or that same sparkle in their eyes.

I don’t know if he could actually bring back a well-preserved body back, but if he could then he did and it was like a special treat for you. I would say he would silently watch the cinematic records because they were interesting to him. However, he did get jealous whenever he saw the joyful moments in their life. You reassured him that he would be able to experience those moments with you, and that you would try your hardest to make it a reality. That’s when he fell for you.

Gyutaro was kind of indifferent towards your scythe, but if you were going somewhere without him then he would insist that you take it with you (completely forgetting that you were a reaper and therefore weren’t easily killed. Just listen, otherwise he would follow you in the sun (with proper protection, of course).

It all began the fateful day Mitsuri's lively presence collided with yours. Quite literally collided, because the girl was dashing through the Ubuyashiki Estate, late to the Hashiras meeting, only to smack into a crash that was entirely her fault. To her credit, she had the split-second reaction time to grasp your biceps with her hands, pull you closer before you fell sideways and hit the wall. You still ended up in a tangle of limbs on the ground, though.     

Flustered at her own carelessness, she immediately looked up to apologize, “Oh, gosh, I’m so s–” but her breath caught in her throat halfway through the sentence. 

Her green eyes flew open wide, the blush on her cheeks only deepening. Your beauty radiated like the first light of dawn. She completely missed the first thing you said –that it was all good, or something– because, that sweet smile you gave her? It could melt the iciest of hearts. It certainly did a number on hers.

Without thinking, she reached up to brush the lock of hair that had fallen over your right eye. “I’m… really sorry.” came out in a breathy whisper. “Let me make it up to you?”

Ice-cream after the Hashiras’ meeting, her treat, Mitsuri insisted. 

Little did you know, half the things said in that room flew right over her head, with how occupied it was with thoughts of you.

Shinobu Kocho - Admiration To Love

It was often that the demon slayers praised and idolized their most elite warriors, the Hashiras. Not as often that one of the Hashiras came to greatly admire someone from the lower ranks. 

Kinoto or not, you made a lasting impression on Shinobu. Your drive to protect humans that seemed to render you immune to the pain of your injuries, that laser-focused look in your eye as you stared a Lower Moon down and trusted her to deliver the killing blow in time, before the monster decapitated you first. When the battle was over and adrenaline started to die down, your wounds caught up with you. You collapsed forward, but she was there to catch you, gently lowering you to the ground.

“You could have retreated as soon as I arrived.” she stated, staring deep into your eyes, perplexed. 

“Hey, I’m fine. S’all good.” you drawled, dizzy from the blood loss. “Please, don’t be angry. We won. Won’t you give me a smile?”

“I am.” she answered. 

“A real one?” 

Right then and there, you stunned her. Shocked her. You, who met her that night for the very first time, saw through her carefully constructed mask that fooled even her closest associates. But for that one moment, gazing upon your relaxed face, she almost forgot her constant, burning anger. 

And she smiled down at you for real.

She tried. She really did try to bite the fuck out of her growing smile down. In the end, though, it still managed to overpower her. And that kind of marked the point of no return.

Tamayo took you in, cared for your wounds and remained by your side for nights on end. Even unconscious, you seemed agitated at her presence at first, as if you could sense what she was. Gradually, however, you stopped flinching at the touch of her hand on your forehead. Eventually, you leaned into it. 

She couldn't explain why the serene smile you gave in your sleep tugged at her heartstrings so powerfully. Then a twisting worry began to take root inside her, that the moment you woke up your liking to her would disappear, replaced by malice. 

When you opened your eyes, she drew a meter back from you. 

“You. You're the one who saved my life…?” you spoke in a voice hoarse from unuse. “I should thank you for that.”

“No need. It's clear you recognize what I am.” was her reply. Your eyes met. Ancient lavender orbs held your gaze kindly, awaiting your judgment with the patience of a saint. 

A demon, you thought to accuse. The words were perched right on the tip of your tongue. Yet the more you stared at her, the harder they got to voice. Thus…

“A doctor?” you offered, instead. 

The soft, slow smile she gave in response could light up the whole town.

he views any sort of game as ‘dumb’ or ‘childish’

you try to remind him that it’s not in the slightest but it doesn’t do anything much (bro is stubborn)

he’s the demon king? why should he associate himself with the idiotic games mortals play?

eventually he goes give in (bc he loves you in his own weird demonic way..)

strictly on survival mode. doesn’t care what you do but he sees creative mode as a ‘easy way out’ and he wants to be a hard ass (no surprises here)

kills any mob in sight and any mob that comes near you (claims he does it because he’s the demon king and wants to overpower everything and everyone but in reality he just wants to look out for you)

loses his SHIT when he gets dies in the game (triggers his fear of death lol)

you made a joke about him being like the mobs in minecraft because they burn in the sunlight (like him)

he doesn’t play with you after that but he secretly enjoyed spending time with you! (shh, you’ll never hear it from him)

Kokushibo

doesn’t take too much convincing (thank god)

he lowkey enjoys trying out new things with you! you’ve always done everything for him so the least he can do is return the favor.

probably doesn’t really understand it at first so you gotta explain the game to him

gets frustrated easily in the game but it’s more of a silent rage. you take notice of it because his body language changes so it’s not exactly difficult to spot.

douma loves and i mean LOVES playing with you!!

this man is bored. (like all the time) so doing something like this will definitely keep him occupied! but he may grow bored quickly because that’s just how he is.

the type of mf to pick up a flower (specifically a rose) and drop it at your feet in the game.

he too also gets frustrated in the game sometimes and SUCKS at hiding it. he doesn’t have outbursts though (surprisingly)

most likely will rizz you up even in the fucking game😭

then after like a few hours of playing he gets bored and either wants to eat (women) or cuddle with you. (maybe both)

Akaza

Akaza is the most interesting to play with out of them all (because he’s just so goofy when playing)

the only thing that’s annoying is that he’ll chase danger quite literally for fun. he will fight anything. I MEAN ANYTHING.

i pity the mobs who (tried) to attack you..

game rage? it’s in his veins. (it’s semi-amusing to witness him get pissed off)

make sure he doesn’t punch a hole in your TV or your computer (whatever you play on) that shits expensive.

like during his battles bro uses only his fists to kill everything. weapons? nah. pro is anti-weapons. uses his fists for quite literally everything and will throw a fit when he dies.

he’ll praise you whenever you kill anything though! (he’s a sweetheart like that)

he’s like a guard dog even in the silly game. (over protective is an understatement)

he attempts to build you a house (it isn’t too horrible, surprisingly)

one time when the two of you were mining deep within the caves for diamonds Akaza found some and broke/mined it with his fist. (you got so pissed)

he apologized and found you some new ones though! thankfully, he didn’t use his fists to break the block this time.

overall, Akaza really does enjoy playing with you! he grows fond of it and now playing minecraft with him is one of y’all’s favorite things to do together<33

Hantengu Clones

(i’m writing the four of them all together because i’m lazy)

want to know what’s more than chaotic? playing some challenging game with 4 very emotional demons.

At first Sekido immediately rejects the idea of playing the game with you and his three other brothers (the hantengu clones are brothers in this AU)

After a shit ton of persistent begging from you and Karaku and Urogi he only submits in the end and plays (mostly because of you)

Karaku and Urogi literally are beefing the entire time (Sekido’s rage is at it’s boiling point because of those two jackasses)

Aizetsu cries like a baby whenever he accidentally kills anything (except for the mobs)

whenever he sees a mob his scaredy-cat ass sprints away in the opposite direction.

Urogi and Karaku bully him RELENTLESSLY for this. (Aizetsu is a victim)

Urogi is the type to secretly go into creative mode grab a shit tone of diamonds or netherite and is like; “Heyy, lookie what i found!!”

no one falls for his bullishit.

they all protect you in the game and show off in front of you. (it’s embarrassing)

Karaku is surprisingly good at the game but like Akaza he’ll chase danger for fun.

Aizetsu only feels safe around you so he’ll follow you around and cling to you in the game so his two brothers stop harassing him.

Sekido only plays for a few minutes before getting aggravated and just abandoning the game as a whole.

(he is the type to punch everyone playing the game. even you sometimes but Karaku and Urogi mostly fall victim to his attacks)

Sekido surprisingly leaves Aizetsu alone.

the five of you try to create a world where it’s just peaceful (Keep on dreaming, kid. that ain’t happening)

everything goes downhill, half of the world is ENTIRELY demolished and all of you died over 1000 times.

playing with all of them is too chaotic. you can’t really take it seriously. You only can when you’re playing with one of the clones one on one.

y’all didn’t play again after that madness. 😭

Gyutaro

now Gyutaro here is the only chill one to play with. (finally a normal one)

like Kokushibo, it doesn’t take that much convincing! in fact, he agrees to it almost immediately.

at first he is confused and doesn’t understand how to play minecraft but he is a quick learner and figures it out on his own.

Gyutaro doesn’t have a preference for survival or creative mode. He just does whatever you want.

Whenever y’all play in a survival world you two share tasks and duties and actually create a pretty decent looking world!

he still has your back though. Will kill any mobs that interfere with his little home he created with you.

he enjoys building houses and is surprisingly really amazing at it! he finds comfort in building.

however, whenever you, Daki and Gyutaro all play together it’s mostly him and Daki arguing and being all competitive. It’s mostly Daki’s fault because she’s the cause for half of the mayhem that happens in the world.

sometimes Gyutaro plays even without you. (he grew fond of the game quickly and likes the game)

the both of you play together everyday and go onto the same world every time because y’all created a beautiful old-fashioned city on there. (he cherishes it immensely and is insanely proud of the masterpiece of a world the two of you made as a team)

Daki

Daki is infuriatingly annoying but also entertaining to play with at the same time.

she is a giant rage quitter like Sekido and Akaza.

throws tantrums frequently over the smallest things that go wrong in the game.

she will be jealous of any item you get that’s better than hers.

this lil shit steals everything you earn that’s better than what she has. (you notice every time)

you confront her about it and she has the audacity to lie. (like girl yk damn well)

you end up taking your stuff back and she will BATTLE you for it. (you win these matches every time. that alone only adds to her angered state😭)

she will deliberately quit whenever something doesn’t go her way but later come back and declares she wants to try again.

it’s like a endless loop because this happens every. single. time.

(she’s such a brat istg)

will always steal your diamonds and put them in her chest and say she found them first.

while you’re asleep she will secretly go into the world and take all your shit and you’ll wake up back at square one.

(lowkey you want to stop playing with her)

y’all barely even work as a team but when y’all it’s always ha fight (mostly her fault btw)

once she notices your frustrations. She’ll level it down for you so no need to worry! (this earns your respect)

but whenever y’all are in creative mode shes so much more fun and enjoyable to play with!

you two usually build big ass mansions together and with y’all’s godly building skills you two make an incredible looking house and live in it together!

Enmu

Enmu absolutely looooves doing everything with you! he says yes immediately when you ask him to play with you.

after all he’s your personal simp. this fucker will gladly do whatever you say w/o any hesitation.

Enmu has actually heard of the game ‘minecraft’ before but never actually played it and barely knew what it was really about.

oh boy, but when he does he becomes OBSESSED.

I kinda feel like he dislikes survival mode and prefers to be in creative mode! but if you like survival mode he won’t mind trying it out with you.

he likes killing the animals for fun.. will randomly slaughter anything even if it has a family (bro is a sadist after all)

you tell him it’s not necessary to be doing that but he doesn’t care nor listen.

his love language is building you trains in the game. (you love them very much)

Enmu is usually very calm when he’s not on a mission so playing this game only soothes him further and he doesn’t act overly crazy and zesty like he usually does around Muzan

Builds trains every time y’all play and is somehow INSANELY skilled when building them (??)

Similar to douma, he’s the type to rizz you up in the game.

Sulks when you don’t notice him when he attempts to.

He constantly nags you to play with him some more and gets a lil upset when you become tired.

“Oh, Y/N!, how can you be tired? we’re having soooo much fun!!”

forces you to stay up just so he can introduce you his own train world he made for himself. (he named all the trains)

you’re out cold after playing with him every time. High key finds it adorable when you pass out after hours of playing with him. He’s so amused how humans can grow tired so easily.

It’s a quick one, but it leaves you feeling breathless with how he poured every ounce of his feelings for you into it. His lips are cold, but it creates a delicious contrast between you two that has you wanting more.

His hands are barely touching you, afraid of not knowing his own strength.

You could feel just from his lips alone that he cared so much for you that it hurt, and he’d do anything to keep you safe.

An absolute tease, you almost have to beg him to be normal for once…

Practically pulls you to her by the arm and kisses you forcefully, pouring all her frustrations into it.

It’s rough, unpracticed, and maybe a little nervous. She prides herself on her image, being poised at all times, along with the years of experience she has under her obi belt. But when it comes to you? She falls apart.

You’ve picked apart her meticulously created self, and reconstructed her into someone who needs you so much it’s laughable.

Her words may imply that you owe her for tainting that image of hers, but really, she just wants you close.

Gyutaro

Voted least likely to ever confess his feelings. He’d rather fight all 9 Hashira at once than admit he likes you.

As always, it’s fueled by his sheer amount of insecurities and envy. He can’t fathom a universe where you’re interested in him like that, and so he refrains from so much as just hinting at his feelings for you.

It comes to light when Daki has had enough of all the pining and longing stares, and calls him out on it in front of you.

He freezes, doesn’t know what to do- until you reciprocate his feelings, admitting you’d always found him kind of cute.

“I don’t know what the hell you’re on, but…I’m not going to waste this.”

His lips are chapped, he’s got your head in a death grip, and he’s so tall you have to crane your neck a little too far back than is comfortable-

But it’s good, it’s enjoyable, and now you’re his forever. He makes sure to let you know as much.

He won’t let a diamond such as you go, now that he has you in his arms.

Kokushibo

He’d thought pursuits of the romantic kind were beneath him for a long time, ever since he turned his back on his wife and children all those years ago.

But you threw him for a loop, and suddenly, he’s finding himself becoming a romantic all over again.

Almost certainly plans the confessing and first kiss, a little too much to be honest. He just needs it to be perfect, for both you and him.

You’re led through the infinity castle by an elaborate trail of flower petals and candles, ending at his room.

He gives you a rehearsed speech of how you make him feel every day, how you linger in his mind all the time, and how he craves your presence.

“There is no one else worthy…of staying by my side. The only option…Is you.”

When you accept, he seals it with a kiss.

It’s deep, slow, and feels like it burns with passion. He’s surprisingly warm, for being a demon, but it’s pleasant.

It happens spontaneously, during one of his fits of rage.

You’re simply a bystander, there because you just…Always are. You’re always in his vicinity, playing a part in his day that he can’t help but reminisce about when alone.

He quickly tires of the pangs inside his chest when he looks at you, becoming infuriated when you smile so kindly at him, trying to calm him down.

It’s unceremonious, how he smashes his lips to yours just then, teeth clashing as he releases all his anger and raw emotion into the kiss.

As unexpected as it is, there is no doubt in your mind what he feels for you is real and genuine. He’s not the type to do this sort of thing, so take advantage of it when you can.

“You damn human…How dare you make me feel these things! What have you done to me?!”

You’re going to have to show him how to be gentle, because you’re the only one he’ll try for.

Urogi

He has plenty of places and ways he wants to kiss you, while singing to the world of his feelings for you.

But his favorite, that he reserves the very first kiss for, is the nest he’s built up in a tree

The only people who know it even exists are you and Urogi himself. He’s given you special privileges, so don’t take it lightly.

During one of the many times he flies you up there to hang out, he seems a lot more touchy and clingy than usual…But you brush it off, assuming it’s just Urogi being Urogi.

It’s not. He’s trying to butter you up, get on your good side before-

“Hey, you know you’re important to me, right? Am I important to you, too?”

Before you can even answer, his lips are on yours. It’s an eager kiss, and he feels almost…Desperate, for you to return the sentiment. As if he’s afraid you’ll reject him.

He really wants your love, and he’ll be ruffling his feathers non-stop the moment you say, of course he’s important to you.

You’re his lovebird, after all.

Karaku

He’s been trying for months to get you to take him seriously.

Honestly, it gets a little pathetic at certain points- He’s trying so hard to convey to you how much you’re on his mind, in his heart, and everywhere else in his life but it’s just not working.

You’re so used to his flirty and provocative behavior that it just rolls right off your back. You think he’s playing the same game he’s been playing since the first time he split off from Hantengu.

He’s frustrated, understandably so, to the point that he ends up taking you by the shoulders one night and plants a kiss on your lips so passionate and heated, that there’s no choice but for you to recognize his feelings.

By the time he pulls away, he’s the one that looks flustered and taken apart at the seams.

“J-just so you know…I really meant that. I like you. No games.”

A huge wave of relief comes over him when you finally accept him as he is.

He’s a demon of pleasure, and there is no greater pleasure than being yours.

Aizetsu

Another one who wouldn’t just simply confess to you. At least not through words.

He’s bound by endless sorrow- In addition to being unable to believe you love him, he also just doesn’t want to drag you down into this dark, negative world of his.

And yet…

And yet he finds himself holding you tightly, right after slaughtering a demon slayer who came much too close to taking you away from him.

“Please don’t be mad at me.”

He says, just before giving you the softest of kisses, hands gently holding your cheeks.

It’s feather-light, slow, almost hesitant. Just like him. Yet it’s also saying everything he’s ever wanted to say, but couldn’t.

It would be an incredibly sweet scene if not for the backdrop of blood and viscera around you two.

When you return the kiss, he supposes he won’t have to be both sad and alone anymore.
