Yes I would like to vote. Yes I did vote yes. And yes I am incredibly bitter about the amount of people in the tags and comments saying Babs and Steph aren't really BatFam members.

Like one, the fans at large didn't fight fucking hard to get Babs and Steph as officially recognized as BatFam members.

And two, Jim and Bruce are friends there's no way that baby Babs didn't call Bruce Uncle at least once. Dick//Babs is a Cousin Ship and I will die on that hill.

The minute they’re back at the Batcave, Damian just wants to disappear to his room.

He has to get away from everyone, but his fingers are trembling as he tries to get out of his uniform.

“Hold up, Little D.”

Damian lets out a sigh. He’s ashamed at how much that warm voice makes his heart pound. And when he turns to look at Grayson he just wants to melt on the spot.

“Wanted to say thanks,” Grayson says softly, eyes sparkling. “For saving me. It’s not often I’m the one being saved on a mission.”

It’s like the beginning of one of Damian’s fantasies. He’s imagined this countless times; rescuing Grayson and then beaming with pride as Grayson swoons over him.

Grayson isn’t swooning though. Instead he gives Damian a friendly clap on the shoulder and ruffles his hair, and Damian hates himself for being so foolish as to entertain the idea that Grayson would ever want him like that.

“Don’t think the Demon Brat wants any thanks,” Todd interrupts with a grin. “I think he wants something else from you, pretty bird.”

Damian’s face burns.

He thought he’d hid it well; he thought he’d been strong. But if even Todd noticed, he must be weak weak weak-

Father gives him a fond smile. The smile of someone who knows his son has a hopeless crush.

Grayson just laughs. “What are you talking about, Jay?”

“Oh c’mon, Dick. We all saw the way he threw himself off that building for you. Didn’t even hesitate. He could have died.”

Damian would do it again.

“Shut up, Todd,” he growls. “Your opinion is unwanted.”

“Just saying it as I see it,” Todd says with a shrug. “Nothing wrong with it, kid. You’re seventeen; it’s about time you popped a boner over someone. And everyone pops a boner over Dickie at some point.”

Grayson gives Damian a look that he can’t quite read, and he wants the floor to swallow him whole.

A few years ago, Damian would have responded to a disrespectful comment from Todd by launching himself at the older man and instigating a fight that would earn him a scolding from Father, Grayson and Alfred. Todd would always just laugh it off of course, being the annoying idiot he is.

But Damian now knows how to better push Todd’s buttons, just as Todd clearly knows how to push his.

“I’ve seen the way you look at him, kid,” Todd taunts. “The way you fawn over him like a little puppy desperate for approval. And the way you stare at his ass when you think he isn’t looking.”

That’s the moment Damian snaps.

A few years ago he would have reacted with his fists.

But now he wordlessly marches over to where Drake has been watching this exchange silently. He can tell from the way Drake instinctively goes into a defensive stance that he thinks he’s about to be attacked, and he can hear Todd swearing at him, but a stunned silence descends on the room as Damian grabs Drake gently round the waist, dips him slightly, and kisses him.

Drake is stiff in his arms but doesn’t push him away, clearly caught off guard. Nobody else seems to know how to react, so Damian just keeps kissing him. He’s big enough and strong enough now that he can support Drake’s weight, and if this were happening in a different context it might actually be quite nice.

“What the fuck,” Todd says eventually.

That prompts Damian to pull away and set Drake upright, because he’s pretty sure he’ll be the one getting punched if he carries on. Todd looks murderous.

“See?” Damian hisses angrily, his eyes blurry with angry tears. “You don’t know a thing about what I want.”

He’s very aware of everyone staring at him, and Grayson just looks sad. The awkward silence fills the room again.

Damian gives Drake what he hopes is an apologetic look, and Drake gives him a reassuring smile. It’s the first time that Damian has noticed that Drake is almost as beautiful as Grayson.

When he feels the tears on his cheeks Damian turns on his heel and heads back up to the manor, ready to die from his humiliation.

Batcest warning!! Look away if uncomfy

One of my favourite convoluted love triangle headcanons is Tim likes Jay who likes Dick who has had an unrequited crush on Bruce for years who just thinks of his boys as...his boys. Dami also has a crush on Dick AND Tim but will never admit it.

I like to think Tim confessed to Jay and Jay was like "fuck off" but started looking at him differently. Perhaps they meet up for a makeout session every now and then but Jay's feelings are with Dick who he refuses to confess to.

"I will bury this feeling under multiple layers of snark and disdain until I die-for reals this time."

Dick knew lil Jay had a crush on him but didn't think post-lazarus pit Jay still held the same feelings so just treats him as a brother. He's still pining for his father/mentor after all. Dick was so obvious with his feelings as a kid but Bruce never picked up on it and eventually Dick gave up, burying his feelings in redheads and work. Part of his leaving Bruce so dramatically was realising his crush would never come to fruition.

Damian's crush on Dick developed after Bruce's death and Dick took such good care of him. He slipped it into conversation a few times but Dick didn't take it seriously, thinking he was just confusing familial love with romantic love. His crush on Tim on the other hand is something he refuses to admit but most of his bro's have caught onto it. Even Tim knows but refuses to acknowledge it, weirded out by it enough. He's grateful when Jon comes into the picture and takes Dami's attention away from him.

Now Bruce may be the greatest detective but he is shit when it comes to romance and even more so when it involves his boys. Selina knows pretty much all of it but doesn't want to out the boys before they're ready-and besides who wanted to break the news to such a love-adverse, awkward man like Bruce?

I didn't mention Duke in the intro but that's because he's not part of the triangle (hexagon?) and altho he knows a lot of who is crushing on who there is absolutely no form of torture that could get him to talk about it.

Steph and Cass are the only ones who have it together because they've been dating for a while and are pretty open about it. Even Bruce knows and acknowledges them. He will protect his girls if anyone says anything homophobic to them and u can quote me on that.

What made you ship it? I wouldn't be able to say exactly what it was. I think I've been lowkey shipping them since forever, then at some point I started warming up to Omegaverse AUs (in the sense that I've always loved ABO but my head had to sort of "make it work" in a DC superheroes situation), and at that point I was like YES, OMG Y E S. Especially because of Damian's clear-as-day crush on Dick.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Dami is a possessive little shit, and Grayson is his. Dick in skintight suits was surely his sexual awakening and his first crush, and I can easily see how the little demon would fixate on the idea that as soon as he's old enough, he and Dick are supposed to be together. In an ABO situation it works even better, especially when Dick is an Omega and Damian and Alpha because it validates the aforementioned mental process - "after I present me and Grayson will be together as mates". Dick meanwhile is there smiling like "he's a kid, he'll grow out of it sooner or later". No he won't :) (and also, I don't think Dick would ever be able to tell Damian no in whatever circumstance which makes it even juicier, intermingling with Dick's sense of shame and inability to resist when someone pressures him into something, which is something that Bruce took advantage of for Dick's entire life) If we're talking about a Reverse!Robins situation it also works amazingly. (I know, I know. I a lot of people hate the whole reverse!robin thing. "Damian shouldn't even be called Robin because that's a Dick Grayson thing!", "Stephanie makes no sense as Red Hood because she wouldn't care about Batman not avenging her!" LISTEN!!! I know. You are correct. However it is FUN to imagine the batkids with their ages reversed and their roles blurred, especially for shippy reasons, therefore I do not give a fuck ♥ Love you) Like imagine adult, bitter, troubled Damian finding the light of his life in this kid who lost his parents in such a gruesome way, having to teach him and guide him, be his mentor and his moral compass, in turn learning how to work his own skewed sense of justice. Imagine adult, touch-starved Damian having his heart beating so fast when this kid hugs him and falls asleep in his arms, needing comfort and giving so much warmth at the same time. Imagine stone-hearted, disillusioned Damian experiencing so much wonder at seeing this kid grow up and treat him like the most wonderful, precious human being that ever existed, even if Damian perceives himself as cold, unforgiving and unlovable. And when this special, one-in-a-million kid starts blushing every time they take their suits off, and getting clingy and jealous or anyone who buzzes around Dami, and obviously feeling for Damian something which is not just brotherly love, well. At that point what is even Damian supposed to do - Dick is his everything, and he wants to keep being Dick's everything in return.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Probably what I just wrote, meaning that I normally prefer the ship when it's a Reverse!Robins situation (but I like it in any form anyway)
