Amor Aeternus: Twogami x Reader

Genre: angst with lots of fluff

A/N: AHH I LOVE THIS IDEA 💕💕💕 Twogami is such a lil cutie, I love him so much 😭

There would never be a string of sentences in the entire world that could possibly be used to describe the way that you cared about your boyfriend. Prior to his “murder” at the party that he had instigated to bring everyone together, the two of you would always find excuses to meet together. With him being the self-proclaimed leader of the group, he decided that you were one of the few sane people whom he deemed suitable to be his co-leader. Nightly patrols and patting downs of the residents of Jabberwock Island led to the two of you discussing your lives prior to the school trip.

For some strange reason, he would clamp up almost immediately and instead gently change the subject back to your life and aspirations. You definitely deemed that strange but wouldn’t press further in order to not offend him. Feelings were definitely blossoming within you, and you were scared absolutely shitless for your futures; the two of you had grown extremely close and the thought of someone hurting him made your blood boil with pure rage. Although you hadn’t known at the time, ‘Togami’ was also struggling with the palpitations of his own beating heart. He was having very similar thoughts of his own, and as such his protectiveness of you grew tenfold.

The two of you always sat together in the hotel earlier than everyone else to eat breakfast in peaceful solitude together. As the stream of residents filtered through the door, the both of you would greet everyone with a warm smile. It was no secret that you were one of the sweetest residents on the Island; comforting Mikan when she fell, admiring Mahiru’s photos, offering help to Kazuichi whenever he needed it and even attempting to make sense of Gundham’s cryptic rambling. Every time that you would hang out with someone that wasn’t him, ‘Togami’ could feel his chest burn.

It was when Teruteru continued to make lewd and suggestive comments in front you did the cold claw of jealousy slow wrap its way around ‘Togami’s’ neck and snapped what little patience he had left.

“Continue to pester my second in command again and I will personally make sure that you will never bother anyone again!” He grunted loudly, grabbing the attention of everyone else in the room. With a nervous grin and nod of his head, Teruturu scampered to the safety of the kitchen. (E/C) eyes lingered upon your friend curiously for the rest of breakfast until he dragged you away to the privacy of his hut. With a swift slam of the door, you took into account that the level-headed leader of Jabberwock Island was panting with pure rage.

“How dare he, making such … vulgar comments! I knew he struggled to keep it in his trousers but to go to such lengths!” He fumed quietly. Soft fingers interlaced with his as you brought him out of his bubble of rage.

“Hey, are you ok? I’ve never seen you so - mmph!” The sentence was ripped from your throat as ‘Togami’ pressed his lips tightly against yours. Your brain faltered for a second before you meshed your lips against his. This kiss was nothing like you had ever experienced; there was no fight for dominance, no aggression or raging boner. Just a sweet, albeit a little desperate, kiss.

Tapping his arm softly, you pulled away and let him explain just how badly he needed you in his life. Not as his second in command, but as his equal true love. Tears of pure ecstasy dripped down your face as you reciprocated his feelings and from then on the two of you were inseparable.

Needless to say after his murder, you became a ghost of yourself. It took until Teruteru was found as the blackened for you to fully understand the fact that the man you depended on was dead, and once the trial was over you buried yourself in his cabin and howled yourself to sleep for weeks. Grief consumed your being as you wept for your lost love, wrapping yourself in his clothes to try to remember his smell. To always keep a piece of him with you, you kept his necktie folded up in your pocket like a little comfort blanket.

Finding out that you were in a simulation however made your heart beat once again; if everyone else is alive then that means-!! Upon the final voting time, your hand slammed against the button.

A sharp gasp of breath ripped through your body as you slammed yourself forward, almost identically akin to an asthmatic with an inhaler. With an unceremonious grunt of pain, worry flooded you as you gazed dazedly out of a glass pod that contained you inside. Hands banged loudly at the glass to let you out and a young woman only slightly older than you rushed over to unseal the pod.

Her hair was a light lavender, the length just above her waist with matching eyes. Mysterious, but very pretty. She introduced herself as a member of the Future Foundation and reminded you of what you and your friends had done and how Junko was defeated yet again. Small tidbits of information snuck in, but all you could think of was a particular blond…

“Excuse me, has anyone else woken up yet? I’m desperate to see someone again,” you interrupted her abruptly.

Her pretty face contorted into something more expressive than her mysterious expression. It didn’t look good.

“Actually, I was hoping you would bring that up. Myself and the other members of the Future Foundation noticed your … bond, and there is something that we need to tell you”.

You hesitantly prompted her to continue. Her mouth pulled into a slight grimace as she produced a thick folder.

“Byakuya Togami is actually a member of the Future Foundation, and he was a student of Class 77, not 78. The Togami that you grew close to is…an imposter. We have not a lot of real information about him,” she began.

What the fuck??

“We don’t even know his real name. All we know is that his Ultimate is ‘The Ultimate Imposter’ and that he can mimic the physical appearance of anyone,” Kirigiri listed off, becoming more aware of your trembling hands.

“Ah, I apologise. I understand this can be a lot, especially since you’ve been in the program for Gods known how long. Feel free to look through the file, I have to go supervise the rest of your classmates,” she offered you a small smile and gently squeezed the top of your hand as she stood up and left.

The beige colour of the file made your throat recognise the bittersweet taste of bile as it threatened to crawl out your mouth. Trembling, sweaty hands closed in on it, gently thumbing the opening and reading its contents.

Is he a member of a gang?? Sent from the Foundation?? A minion of Junko’s?? Would he ever wake up?? Does he still love you??

“My love?”

All thoughts of self doubt poured from your memory as you stared at the man who gave you so much happiness. Eyes pored into one another’s as you stood at a stand still in the cramped office. Salty tears slowly pricked at your waterline as you threw the file on to the floor and threw yourself into his arms, harsh sobs pouring out of the both of you. It took you both a solid hour to stop crying before he sat down in a chair and pulled you into his lap, cradling your face and rubbing soft circles into your cheeks.

Still desperate to know he was real, you crammed your face into his neck and squeezed him tightly.

“This isn’t a dream is it? You’re really here, aren’t you?” You sniffled softly. Twogami smiled at you and gave you a soft kiss on the cheek.

“I’m here my love, and I’m not going away this time.”

This brought you to more tears as you sobbed into his chest, telling him how miserable and grieving you were for the rest of the ‘trip’. Twogami petted your head soothingly as you made the mistake of looking at the file. Your body tensed up automatically, causing your boyfriend(?) to look at you in concern.

“Are you alright my love? You feel rather tense,” he thumbed more circles with his fingers on your cheeks.

“Actually, I needed to talk with you. This is really important and I need you to be honest with me,” you took a deep breath before hopping off his lap and retrieving the file. Twogami visually paled at the documents.

“W-where did you get that?” He started sweating a little. You explained to him what you knew, that he wasn’t who he said he was.

Twogami was quiet the entire time you explained what you knew. His knuckles were turning white as he dug his nails into his trousers.

“All of that I can overlook. All I want to know is … do you really love me?”

Twogami’s head snapped up at the question.

What the hell? She just learned that I’m not who I say I am, but she doesn’t care?

“Of course I love you, you were the main reason I threw that party on the island. I was more than happy to sacrifice my life for your own, and I would do it a million more times if it meant you could live your life!” He stood up to face you and took you in his arms once again.

“I am not the physical man you thought me to be, but my soul is still intertwined with yours. Please allow me to explain everything,” he pleaded.

You simply nodded your head and allowed him to sway you in his arms.

Twogami General Dating Headcanons

Gender Neutral Reader

Twogami is fond of food, so anything that you make them will be well appreciated. Whether it be salty, sweet or spicy, they’ll always want to try your food. While not impersonating anyone, they may sometimes cook you up a meal to thank you for times you’ve made them food.

While they’re impersonating Togami, they can be quite rude, arrogant and even downright mean to you. However, that is only because that’s the character they’re playing! Normal ultimate imposter is quite sweet, happy and polite around you and is willing to do anything to make you happy!

If they’re not sure about their portrayal of someone, they’ll go to you. They may even have you roleplay a conversation with them to make sure that the imposter got them just right! If it’s someone you’re around more then them, they’ll ask you to subtly study them and report back.

At first, when they met you they were in disguise as Togami. On the outside they were so standoffish, snooty and just generally a little bit of a jerk. But on the inside, all they wanted was another friend, or potentially someone to go out with them.

Danganronpa 2 boys getting friend zoned (spoilers)

Hello there- so I recently just got rejected and friendzoned by a crush, and while I’m truthfully happy to stay friends I am slightly bummed so I decided I’ll take this experience and turn it into a write. I hope you enjoy!

Hajime

He has to take a long break from talking to them… but not for the reason you think

Truthfully he gets over the crush fairly quickly… but this rejection causes his self hatred to spring into his mind

“Of course they didn’t like you? Why would they like a talentless joke?”

After about a month of his friends helping him with his self hatred, he feels a bit better and starts talking to them again.

While there is a bit of awkwardness present that wasn’t there before… the friendship remains stable

Kazuichi

While they offer to still be friends, he still keeps going for a relationship

This is a mistake he can’t take back causing the friend to cut ties

He tries to work on himself after this, he doesn’t want to make these mistakes anymore… this friendship failed because of him

And he won’t let that happen again in the future

With the support of friends and family, the goal of bettering himself begins

Gundham

While he still loves them, he needs time to get over it

He talks with other friends more, hangs out with his hamsters more and takes more time for himself

He takes up new hobbies and meets new people becoming a overall more happy person

Overall this helped his life and made him more happy in the long term

And one day very soon the old crush will be a friend again

Teruteru

With Teruteru’s perverted nature you would be forgiven for expecting him to keep at it even after rejection. To peruse someone who has already stated there lack of interest

But honestly Teruteru handles rejection pretty well… I mean he’s kind of used to it by this point…

While Teruteru would be semi disappointed at another rejection, he accepts it and moves on fairly quickly

Typically remaining friends with his former crush if there willing to stay friends

(Side note: I head cannon Teruteru acts perverted since his mother wanted to see him with a love before she passed… and Teruteru never learned how to talk to girls properly since for most of his life, he has been in his family diner helping however he can)

Twogami

He’s for the most part ok with it, hiding most of his emotions

Because of this the friend can’t tell how they feel and are confused

This could lead to a rift in the friendship

Fuyuhiko

While he would try to stay friends he would become distant…

I think this would eventually end the friendship and they become awkward strangers

Quick side note regardless if they were friends with Peko before she would resent them for rejecting Fuyuhiko, not understanding how anyone would want to reject Fuyuhiko

Nekomaru

While I personally head cannon him as aromantic (having little to none romantic attraction) let’s disregard this head cannon for this write

He takes the news the best, resuming the friendship immediately without a hint of awkwardness

Overall the friendship remains the same

Nagito

“It’s my fault why they don’t love me”

That was the only logical explanation to nagito

The person he loved were perfect so it had to be him… there probably just pitying him by offering to stay friends…

He eventually cuts ties with his crush… although one day in the distant future… when he learns to let go of his self hatred

Maybe again they will be friends
