dangelo wallace has a new video

it is about idubbz and its very weird because he basically takes his side and makes reasons why he forgives him which i dont get, while backpedalling saying he understands that slurs are wrong (but because his apology was "sincere" he forgives him, which wasnt even really sincere enough, he waited 6 years until he made a statement)

it is also about charlie (penguinz0) who responded to idubbzs video literally saying he shouldnt have apologized for saying slurs. then dangelo is saying yeah thats pretty bad n stuff but in the end says that he doesnt think charlie is a racist. like thank yew for nothing but being an apologist. i believe he made the video because he did something very bad in the past that made him look bad

The reason why people may consume mass amounts of media is because of dopamine deficiency. It's so easy to feel short term happiness because of things like tiktok or otherwise, and that's a great source of dopamine for a lot of people. There's nothing shameful about needing to be stimulated in order to stay happy/focused. It's the stupid conversations that focus on the wrong thing, are the issue. If not by people's phones, it will be through books, through exploring, through movies, through music, through television, through eating, through stimming. People will find gratification through anything, but that's not an inherently bad thing, and that's not something you should punish people for.

We have always had the same amount of attention span, just like in the past, it's just that some of us cannot control focus/attention. It's incorrect to say that the newer generations have less and less attention.

So if individuals are not the issue of sudden and aggressive content being pushed out all the time, then what is? It's capitalism. Bo Burnham says it better than me, so you can watch that here. But basically, the reason why content is formulated in an instant, easily digestible and constant stream, is because of companies that want your time and information. Short attention span content is because of corporations taking more and more of our time.

I know most people have seen the 8 hour Victorious video, I know that hour long videos have made many content creators popular, such as Dangelo Wallace. I know streamers post their vods, or just stream in general and people will watch them for hours. The problem is not the general populace getting a shorter attention span, that's huge misinformation. The problem is corporations and companies curating content to sell information, colonizing every single second of our lives so we can buy their products.

I find it stupid that I still see posts or articles talking about how young people are too obsessed with "instant gratification". The reality is, capitalism is obsessed with selling us products and stealing our information.

TLDR: "Instant gratification" discussions miss the point. Firstly, I think it's frankly ableist to push the idea that stimulation is a bad thing. Secondly, the reason why the internet is like this, is because capitalism, not individuals. Bo Burnham says it best. People are not obsessed with their phones, capitalism is obsessed with making people feel the need to stay connected.

not sure who you watch but JarvisJohnson, Dangelo wallace, Danny Gonzalez, Drew Gooden, Kurtis Conner all do reports on drama (drew has a few vids about the ace family and their scams lol), Def worth watching some!
