Notes: I've missed writing hookhausen so much!! Thank you for requesting this honestly. As someone who can go hours to days being mute, I relate a little too much to Hook in this one. But I hope you enjoy!!

– When Danhausen first met Hook, he had to get used to a couple different things, such as Hook's touch aversion (which was a tad difficult for a touchy Danhausen), the days he would go mute, and the fact that Hook didn't like being around most people

– But Danhausen tried to get used to those things and other small things that made them the complete opposite

– Hook could see he was trying his hardest to not hug him, pat his back, touch his shoulder, and Hook truly did appreciate it

– Danhausen would go on to learn ASL, and he still is learning, but he knows the basics and while he does stumble a few times or does the wrong thing, he knows what Hook is signing more often than not

– He always lights up a little when Hook smiles slightly from how hard he's trying, because besides Taz and Ricky, no one else could really communicate with Hook while he was mute, so of course, he was absolutely happy that Danhausen was trying

– As time went on and they got closer, it was like the barrier between them was gone and Hook felt actually comfortable to lean on Danhausen, hold his hand, touch his shoulder, and he never minded when those touches were returned either

– And soon enough, Hook had found himself falling so hard and so fast that the feelings actually scared him or at least until he was able to talk to Danhausen about it

– It now isn't unusual to see them backstage, leaning on one another, Hook pressed to Danhausen's side, or even sat on the floor with Danhausen having his head in Hook's lap

– It felt good to have someone Hook could rely on and have close by and he wouldn't want anyone else as his boyfriend

Thinking about Danhausen being the best ler. He’d be so gentle yet teasing and would have you laughing already before he even really starts just from the silly things he says while doing it.

3 times hookhausen almost kissed and 1 time they did; drabble

It had been weeks. Weeks of staring, weeks of Danhausen following Hook, weeks of Hook ignoring him when he thought he’d be noticed, and weeks of close kisses that never happened.

The first time. Danhausen tried yet another strategy to get Hook’s attention, which had resulted in getting shoved against the wall, so close that it made Danhausen’s heart stop for a second as he froze. Hook wanted to. Danhausen wanted to. But neither made a move. It felt like time slowed, but it was only a few seconds before Hook stepped away.

The second time. Hook ran into Danhausen at the gym. Well — Donovan, actually. Without the makeup, Hook didn’t see him as Danhausen. Still, he greeted Hook in his very Danhausen way, waving and smiling like an idiot. And somehow it had turned into the two working out together, spotting each other, and talking. Or really it was Danhausen talking, Hook listening. And when Hook had dropped his water bottle, both of them bent down to pick it up and their heads had knocked together, making them both hiss. But as they looked up, they were so close that Danhausen had that same feeling again. The only thing that had stopped Hook from leaning forward was the sound of Ricky calling his name.

The third time. It was right after Hook ran out to save Danhausen. He saved him, shook his hand, and went backstage. But he still waited for Danhausen behind the curtain. He wasn’t sure why he waited, but when he had shook his hand again and stepped a little closer, he wasn’t sure what to do besides mutter a ‘see you later’ as Danhausen hesitantly nodded his head, letting them linger like that for a little longer before Taz walked by and Hook pulled away so he could leave to avoid being questioned as to why he saved the man.

But the fourth time .. neither of them backed out the fourth time. Danhausen had locked himself out of his hotel room, sitting by the door as he waited for Ethan Page to return since he was his roommate.

“What are you doing out here?” Hook asked, hands in his hoodie pockets, making the other look up with a slight pout.

“I left my keycard inside.” He admit shyly, glancing back down at his lap. Hook didn’t bother to wait for an invite to sit, instead just sitting down next to Danhausen, putting his bag aside.

For awhile, it was just silence. But it was comfortable. A silence that neither of them minded. Which Hook had to admit was weird, not hearing Danhausen speak was like the sky turning green. Hesitantly, Danhausen rested his head down on Hook’s shoulder, which caught him off guard enough to pull away.

“S — Sorry, I —“ Danhausen started but when Hook looked over, he cut him off by placing a hand against his cheek to pull him into a kiss. He didn’t give it a second thought. With Danhausen blushing and stuttering his apology that wasn’t necessary, it was too cute. And Hook had been hesitating too long. Hook was gentle, which was surprising, but it didn’t last long. Soon enough, it turned hungry, rough, teeth bumping against the other man’s lip. And Danhausen tried to match his energy, but he was a little flustered.

“What are you two doing?” Ethan’s voice interrupted, making Hook pull away, giving him a smirk. Ethan was only smiling though, chuckling softly from catching the two.

“Jeez get a room.” Ethan teased, unlocking the door once Danhausen moved out of the way. Hook helped the man up to his feet, but didn’t let go of his hand.

“Grab your things. You’re coming with me.”

Headcanon/mental image time

I think Danhausen should have at least 4 extra teeth.

He has an extra set of lateral incisors both on top and bottom, and his canines are barely visible when he smiles, giving him an eerily uniform, square-toothed "cartoon character" smile.

It's not immediately obvious to most people exactly what's "wrong" with his teeth. Just that there's something unusual about them. Britt obviously noticed right away, and demanded to count his teeth. 32. He has 32 teeth, not counting wisdom teeth. But there's no reason to take them out. They're straight and he takes care of them just fine (although she disapproves of his bubblegum toothpaste), they're just Weird.

Every so often, you find yourself in a horror movie mood, and so, you decided to ask Danhausen if he wanted to do a movie night

You had an outstanding date with Hook pretty much every week, so you decided to just merge these two things

Danhausen gets a wide variety of movies ready for the three of you to watch

He sends you to the store to buy chips, and Hook helps you carry it all back to the hotel

Hook cuddles up next to you on the couch while Danhausen sits on the floor like a kid watching their cartoons

He is excitedly rattling off factoids and little things about the movies that neither you nor Hook knew

Hook jumps a few times when you get to the more modern movies, and you pretend not to notice

Danhausen eventually joins the two of you on the couch, where the three of you fall asleep

You fall asleep first, followed by Danhausen, and then Hook

If Hook wakes you up in the middle of the night to check on you, you pretend that it's just because he wants to make sure you're not scared.
