WTF MAN!!!!???? i was deleting saved posts from instagram and i came across one of daniel lissing in a hallmark event or something like that and i just started stalking his insta just to see what he’s been up to yk bc ever since he left i’ve barely watched wcth (literally haven’t watched since 2020 maybe). SO i see that in his feed he had a selfie in his mountie uniform with lori so i thought: oh how cool a tbt! but when i entered OH MY GOD JACKS BACK????? So my brain started to function: the both of them can’t possibly be back in wcth at the same time so what is this so i hit up google and searched daniel lissing, went on to news and quickly found: “'When Hope Calls': Daniel Lissing on His Return as Jack Thornton and Reuniting With Lori Loughlin” AND I SCREAMED. I had literally never watched when hope calls lol. The articles states it’s just one scene etc etc so i go to the ep mentally prepared and I’m like ok it has been what, 3 years since jack died? this should be fine, it shouldn’t hit me hard, besides it’s abigail he’s seeing bla bla bla.

GUYS YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH I CRIED I WAS LITERALLY A BABY IT WAS HORRIBLE. THE WAY ABIGAIL WANTED TO SAY SO MUCH BUT DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ONNNNNNN THE WAY AT THE END SHE RAN AFTER HIM TO SAY SOMETHING!!!!!! GUYSSSS I CANT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW

‘When Calls the Heart’ Stars Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing Reunite for 2024 Hallmark Christmas Movie ‘Santa Tell Me’

It’s a “When Calls the Heart” reunion Hearties have been waiting for. 

Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing, who portrayed Elizabeth Thatcher and Jack Thornton, respectively, in “When Calls the Heart,” will reunite for a new Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, “Santa Tell Me.” The movie will be part of the 2024 “Countdown to Christmas” lineup, the network announced at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday.

The actors previously starred in the period drama for five seasons from 2014 to 2018. Lissing’s Jack was killed at the end of Season 5. He later appeared on the Season 2 premiere of the spinoff, “When Hope Calls” in 2021. Both Krakow and Lissing have starred in multiple holiday movies for Hallmark.

Okay, so there wasn't a ton of new information released today via the TCA panel.

There will be a Daniel Lissing and Erin Krakow reunion with a Christmas movie. Kind of surprised by that one considering he quit When Calls the Heart because it was too difficult for him to be a leading man (boohoo) and threw everything into a tailspin. I know fans really wanted a movie with them... 5 years ago.

HM&M is rebranding to Hallmark Mystery and that potentially opens the door for them to have shows on that channel as well. They didn't announce anything that we didn't already know was coming.

J’ai enfin vu ce film qui m’intriguait tant !

Difficile en effet de ne pas être au courant que ce film de Justine Triet a fait l’unanimité dans la critique, obtenu divers prix dont la glorieuse Palme d’Or à Cannes… la bande-annonce et cet air lancinant au piano, tout ça avait fait monter une forte curiosité et une forte attente également.

Quand j’ai vu la durée du film, 2h30, j’ai un peu soufflé, pff, pourquoi cette manie des films fleuves, maintenant que je suis pas mal habituée à regarder des séries, donc de courts épisodes… et puis, c’est la vérité vraie, ce sont 2h30 qui passent sans qu’on ne le sente, on est happé de bout en bout, on retient presque son souffle, il y a une tension tout du long qui fait qu’on est très attentif, suspendu au moindre, mot, silence, regard, plan, on ne veut rien rater du puzzle qui ne se reconstitue jamais totalement, ni même comme on s’y attend.

Premier atout donc, cette surprise constante, où tout paraît essentiel même si on est toujours légèrement frustré de ne pas avoir les révélations que l’on souhaite : la mère est-elle coupable oui ou non ? Le film déjoue nos attentes comme il déjoue les codes du film de procès en rompant avec une esthétique solennelle et lisse, et déplaçant le terreau du suspense.

Deuxième atout, c’est la liberté d’interprétation constante du spectateur, même si elle est vacillante, et sûrement un peu frustrante. Mais précisément, je crois que le film parle de ça justement. La vérité des faits existe mais ce n’est pas celle qui compte dans un procès, c’est plutôt celle que l’on conte -ce n’est pas un hasard que l’accusée soit autrice de fiction- les récits des uns et des autres qui se superposent à l’élément manquant de celle qui sait si elle a tué ou non (on n’a jamais accès à l’intériorité du personnage de l’accusée) ; discours où l’accusée est défavorisée par le langage, puisqu’on la somme de parler le français qu’elle maîtrise mal, étant native d’Allemagne et parlant anglais avec son mari et son fils. Somme de discours qui ne se superposent jamais bien et qui n’ont pas le même pouvoir de persuasion ou de séduction. Il y a le récit qui passionne le public mais aussi le récit que fait l’avocat de l’accusation qui excelle à prouver que Sandra n’est pas une jeune innocente comme ce serait bien pratique (pour sa défense) de paraître. Elle est la plus puissante du couple, elle est même bisexuelle (!), elle a même trompé son mari, elle s’occupe de sa carrière, elle écrit, elle sait ce qu’elle veut, tandis que son mari est comme empêché de l’égaler, il n’arrive pas à écrire, il se perd dans des projets (comme le dit Swann Arlaud dans le rôle de l’avocat de la defense, toujours aussi génial) qui n’aboutissent pas, et tourne donc à l’homme au foyer frustré, et vexé. Et si c’était cela que l’on reprochait à cette femme au fond ? Sa puissance (et son opacité -troublante Sandra Hüller-) ? N’est-ce pas cela qui la rend suspecte ? Thèse qui est hyper intéressante et ô combien moderne.

Enfin, évidemment, à travers la victime collatérale, l’enfant, Daniel, mal voyant mais peut-être extra-lucide, il y a cette beauté aussi suggérée dans le film, cette ambiguïté qui persiste : et si c’était lui qui décidait de tout ? Sans trancher entre l’explication rationnelle ou l’explication sentimentale, les deux possibilités demeurent. Les deux sont acceptables : soit il sait la vérité, il la comprend, soit il en décide, par amour. (Ce jeune acteur est assez extraordinaire.) Là aussi, c’est une thèse émouvante et remuante.

Un grand film sur le couple et le langage, les mots que l’on dit, ceux que l’on ne dit pas, ceux que l’autre entend, sur le pouvoir qu’ils recèlent, les fictions qu’ils permettent, qui sauvent ou qui coulent les « histoires » d’amour.
