14. where do you get inspiration?

everywhere! a lot of my dialogue comes from funny things I overhear or see on reddit. occasionally, it's stuff that actually happens to me because I'm just a magnet for awkward human interactions somehow. most of my plot inspiration comes from other media - the ring in came from an interview, love game came from watching 10 billion hours of tennis, alta was inspired by veronica mars. sometimes (rarely) I start writing and make it up en route (speak for yourself), but not often.

15. favourite weather for writing

super, super cold and rainy days when I'm tucked up inside. although, writing gets a little knocked around in winter because I spend a lot of weekends in the mountains snowboarding ❄️

16. favourite place to write

home 💜 sometimes in bed, sometimes on this big armchair I have. most of the time with bad posture and always on a laptop. idk how people write on phones - my autocorrect kills me!

happy nice ask weekend! can you talk more about Robron and Emmerdale and share what you love?!

Ooh my favourite subject!

When it comes to robron I just love their love. Insane as it is. I mean their love story has a body count (RIP Katie but you had it coming). But they were (and still are!!) iconic. Especially for a soap couple. I mean they survived SO MUCH. And in the end only a 14 year minimum prison sentence in a prison on an ISLAND on the other side of the country could keep them apart. And even then Aaron couldn't move on. He'll be standing outside the prison gates the day Robert gets out and nothing will have changed between them.

to getting married TWICE in front of the whole village and raising a kid together

And also Robert as a character will always have a special place in my heart because watching him figure out his sexuality helped me do the same. (and hearing him say the word bisexual never gets old)

I just love how robron take the good and bad from each other and just accept it but still push the other to be better. Robert makes Aaron want to solve things without punching the shit out of someone, Aaron makes Robert want to be less of an asshole to people and a better father to their son than his own was (and also Aaron's but that's not very hard to do).

Emmerdale as a whole... without robron, it's kind of hit and miss these days (mostly miss tbh) but... i'm a sucker for soaps and I watch out of habit really. The good stories are few and far between but they still keep me watching. Those 3 seconds a month of characters I like actually existing without supporting annoying characters' plots? yeah i'm here for it.

And also it gives me something to make fun of and bitch at/about for half an hour a day (most of my followers have probably blacklisted my ed lb tag by now lol)

Alex Claremont-Diaz: I relate a little too deeply to busy-ing yourself away from your problems. I love how fiercely he loves, and I love that he's imperfect but trying.

Jo Harvelle: Jo is EVERYTHING to me. She knows what she wants and she won't be told to stay behind, and I respect the hell out of that.

V: Which character do you relate to most?

It's either Alex Claremont-Diaz or David Rose, I truly don't know which side of the pendulum I fall on 🤣

W: A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.

Hate is a strong word, there are writers who could convince me to give almost anything a go, but high school AUs or anything that's significantly set in the main characters' childhood is just fundamentally uninteresting to me.

5. What genre did you read the most of?

romance and mystery!

6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to?

okay so I promise I meant to read Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall. I checked it out from the library, read the first chapter, but I was in a reading slump after starting a new job so I wasn't reading any books and just struggled with getting into stuff. and then someone else had it on hold at the library and I had to return it. thankfully, audio books got me back into reading, so it's on the list for next year!

16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?

this is interesting because it makes me realize that I don't know what it means for something to be over-hyped? maybe Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid?

25. What reading goals do you have for next year?

for the past couple years I've had the goal to read at least 2 books a month and I'm going to stick with that goal for 2024!

15. trembling hands

Carlos knows this is nothing short of a miracle, knows that the man in his arms right now being alive and awake is a blessing he's going to carry with him until the end. However this confirmation doesn't stop the way he’s near-sobbing and shaking pressed up against TK’s weakened frame in the hospital bed.

When his own breathing evens out, he pulls back to look at TK’s face, brows slightly pinched but otherwise relaxed, his eyes heavy like he’s fighting sleep.

“You’re okay,” Carlos rasps like a prayer. “You’re okay.”

“Where’m I?” TK mumbles. His hand, still gripping the back of Carlos’ shirt, slides down his arm. “Where’s—“

“You’re in the ICU. I—we…we thought we were going to lose you.”

TK’s lips slide into what Carlos can only assume to be a very weak smile. It’s small but beautiful, precious, and the fact that he’s witnessing it, struggle or not, nearly makes Carlos sob all over again.

“I’m right here, baby,” he hears him say slowly as he presses his lips to TK’s hair. “Not goin’…anywhere.”

Carlos brings a trembling hand to the far side of his face, tilting it toward him; hasn’t stopped shaking since TK first jerked awake, despite the utter relief.

Those green eyes are practically crossed as TK tries to focus on him, clearly fighting sleep. “Don’t go,” he breathes, but even this sounds like a question, enough of one to make Carlos silently laugh.

Like he’s going anywhere after this. “I won’t,” he promises. “I’ll be right here.”

"I'm looking at the two sets of eyebrows…" – A lovely event with the cast from back in 2016. Eugene talks about how amazing it is to act opposite his son. Catherine talks about how emotional it made her, the first time she was in a scene with them. But she also gets everyone laughing quite a bit. I think this is one of the first things I ever made for the Schitt's Creek fandom.

"I was watching Daniel as David, and watching him allow himself to be loved." – We revisit Patrick singing to David in Open Mic, overlaid with quotes from Catherine O'Hara about what it was like to film that scene. As soon as I found this interview, I could see the gif set in my mind. The end result almost matches my vision, which is a rare thing.

"I just don't think I'm finished with this place." – A parallel set that starts with David and Patrick talking about how they didn't want or expect to be in Schitt's Creek for long…and ends with them finding their home in each other and in that town. I had been playing with the idea for this one for about 8 months before I finally managed to make some decisions and finish it.

"Some of the easiest reacting of my life." – Dan and Noah talk about filming The Olive Branch. Listen, I just love everything about this interview. I could watch it on a loop. And I mean, that's what the gifs are for, really.

"Your dad has promised me that he has everything under control." – Johnny thinks longingly of what he had planned to be able to give David for his wedding, back before they lost the money. And then we see Johnny making everything come together for the actual wedding day. I just have a lot of feelings about this. And I blame @my-nameless-bliss. She wrote a fic, and that fic inspired this gif set. (Also, it was unintentional, but there's a Town Hall before-and-after thing happening in the middle of the set, which I quite enjoy.)

❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

Bold of you to assume I remember anything I've ever written. Uhh. I can tell you my favorite thing I've written recently? The other day, actually, I wrote something I really like:

“David,” Patrick says, voice thick. “What happened? What’s wrong?” He chokes on something like a sob in lieu of an answer, unsure of how to articulate the feelings overwhelming him like a tidal wave. David is drowning in regret; he’s floundering under the weight of relief sloshing around his shoulders. He’s wading through choppy waves of sorrow, kicking and splashing, gulping mouthfuls of angry saltwater as fierce love, love, love burns down his throat and into his lungs.

✍️ What’s your ideal writing setup?

Curled up on the couch, noise-cancelling headphones on (probably playing either brown noise or some instrumentals), cup of tea nearby, and rain visible from the window.

🍬 Do you write for multiple fandoms? If yes, what is your favorite fic of yours for each fandom?

Uh, I don't anymore... Though, I'd like to get more confident writing the characters from the 118 and write some 911 fic. I have written for multiple fandoms, so:

ahhh christine i'm so sorry, i didn't save the psd! i made 3 gifsets of this scene last week and closed photoshop without saving it. since i color everything from scratch 95% of the time, i actually very rarely do save psds, and sometimes i regret it haha

1.) what are your top 3 favorite sets you’ve made? oh god there are so many to choose from!! this morgana pendragon set is something i look back on frequently!! i just love the song, the color scheme, the scene choices, etc. it was when i felt like i rlly got the hang of blending and coloring gifs well imo! a recent new fav, my alicent + brutal lyrics set! i HARDLY ever use green for my colors so it was fun to use it for once! plus i love her and she deserves better !!! and i cannot forget about my one of my all time favorites, my grishaverse major arcana set!! i just love it sm and i need to make more of those types of sets!!

4.) a set that flopped but deserved better? damn there are so many bc the lack of reblogging nowadays. but one i will ALWAYS be bitter of how it flopped considering how much dedication i put into coloring it, my alina + the lucky one lyrics set. i think maybe bc i posted it on mobile at a really shitty time and it probably didn’t show in the tags. i’ve sets that flopped even worse, but this one made me a bit disappointed.

I LOVED New York. And I thought I’d hate New York and would, like, suffer through it cause I scored Hamilton tickets lol. I don’t like crowds and I don’t like stairs so, you know. But holy shit New York was such a vibe and I fell in love. I don’t even know why exactly! We explored all over and just the energy of the whole place was incredible. I just love the movie so much and I've loved doing sets with taylor lyrics so if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears and happy to fulfill requests! I do want to gif more Schitt's Creek too though. my most recent David/Patrick set made me realize how much I miss it and need to do a rewatch!
