Final ILW Survey Results!

Apologies for the delay, but here are the survey results after the It Lives Within finale! We received 558 responses, and this is what they said.

Out of curiosity, I decided to see which final LIs corresponded most with the different endings, and I found the results quite interesting! The options were: Blood, Mixed, Shadow, and Betrayal (all successful), Blood Betrayal, killed by Matthias, and killed by Noah/Devon.

Yay!!! Yessss trans!Michael!!!

I headcanon that Michael realized he was transgender in late elementary/early middle school

He transitioned during middle school

When he came to Berry High he was already socially transitioned and on puberty blockers and really tried to keep his being trans a secret since he didn't really know these people

The first person he came out to at Berry High was Jamie and he came out to them during winter break (in between books 1 and 2)

And yesssss trans!Danni!!!

I headcanon that Danni pretty much always knew she was trans

As a little kid she would tell her parents that she was a girl and they were very supportive of it, although they weren't completely sure what to do, they did their best

They thought it might be a phase at first, but after a few years they were like yeah... she's being for real

So they supported her transition!!

She only kinda changed her name when she was old enough. She changed her legal name from Daniel to Daniela, but she was already going by the nickname Danni which she kept

Once her parents start having financial and health insurance issues around the time of ILB, she feels really guilty for using the health insurance for her hormones and also just for the fact that her transition, you know, wasn't cheap

Like, oh if my parents hadn't had to spend money on my surgeries maybe they'd have more money now kinda stuff

She offered to temporarily go off her hormones to help them save money but her parents told her no

She also does a lot of photography projects related to being trans and the trans community as well as the intersection of gender and class

I’m freeeeeeee! I have finally finished the It Lives Beneath portion of this sim project I started a few months ago and you know what? I’m actually kind of glad I took forever on them because I’m really happy with how they turned out!

As I said when I started it, this project is probably a weeeeee bit self-indulgent, but with the second half of the (incredible) fan project It Lives Within coming out this month, I had to finish these guys with a quickness so I could make my babies the ILW gang! I plan to upload ALL the sims from this series at the very end, so stay tuned for that! I hope that even if you have no idea what the Choices app or the It Lives anthology is that you’re still enjoying this project alongside me!

as we all recover in the wake of that devastatingly AMAZING chapter (bless your brains seriously), could I ask if yall have any crossover friendship hcs with the cast of the anthology? like Tom and Andy are the brotp of brotps, but I think it'd be cute if Lincoln and Imogen bonded over sketchy parents and getting their powers from rituals. Or Abel and Lucas being adorable nerds. Or Ava and Amalia talking about weapons yes 💜

I am a huge fan of a Lincoln and Imogen friendship. They never interact, but I imagined it one time and it was SO cute, like, bonding over terrible parents, Imogen just being so sweet and kind and understanding and offering the kind of unconditional friendship Lincoln needs, Lincoln being protective and validating of her feelings... idk man their friendship would be so wholesome.

I think Danni and Joss would get along really well. Just like, both are protective, both take things seriously. During a crisis, the two would just be completely in sync and understand each other without having to say anything, and their mutual respect just 📈📈📈

Tom and Abel... I'd love to see them interact. They're both such cute nerds, I feel like they'd have a lot of similar interests and a very compatible sense of humor. Tom would go on about mechanics and robotics while Abel is like "ooooh" like, he doesn't understand much since it's not his area but he picks up the concepts quickly and thinks it's amazing, and vice versa with Abel explaining things about history and artifacts.

Amalia and Ava yes I think you're onto something.... Amalia would show off her skills and Ava would be amazed, and Ava in turn shows off her spells and how it works, and Amalia is thoroughly intrigued.
