I fee like people are milking the Anger Management ship a little too often now when there are other ships they can go with. The only Danny x Cass ship that sailed and I’ve seen is in Lex Luther’s Ascent from Supervillainy to Fatherhood 😃 I kind of want to see Jazz and Dick getting closer because of being the oldest and/or Danny and a super kid! Danny x Duke is a ship that no one wants to dip their feet in 😔 they could bond over having powers or maybe everlasting quartet 🤔 (sam x danny x val x tucker) sorry im good at giving ideas out im just horrible at executing them 😭 also, Jazz x Babs? their ship Name could be Oracle Specter? Bc some hc jazz as a liminal and oracle liminal doesn’t sound as good 😀

Friend, I'll be real with you, I don't see the point of this message.

The following answer is not for you specifically, is to everyone out there that has said something similar. I can't just ignore it anymore.

I will say this once: why the need to stomp on something to highlight another? Why start with "I think Anger Management is too common/used/repetitive, when we could be doing this instead."

I'm sorry but this rubs me the wrong way, and I cannot find in me the energy to play nice when it isn't the first time I've seen people stomp on my favorite ship for the sole purpose to try and highlight other ships.

The sad part? I like other ships. Jazz/Dick (Nightbirds), Danny/Cass (Dead Silent) and all those you mentioned are okay.

(Jazz/Babs is Red Dead Redemption, but it can be changed)

Like, what's the point? Guilt trip people into making content for other ships? Make me feel bad enough so I write for other ships instead? I am not the DPxDC ships wizard, I don't wake up one day and decide which ship becomes popular.

I just saw the potential for Jazz and Jason, how interesting their dynamics could be, and run with it. I'm happy that my rarepair has become so popular that it has antis and detractors, it's such an honor to have started the fire that took my OTP out of rarepair hell.

But, please.

If anybody out there likes other ships? That's great!

Now go make content for it.

Don't go into mine, or other writer's, inbox and try to guilt trip people into making content for your ship. Or make vagueing posts in the Anger Management tag complaining about it.

Be the change you want to see.

I wrote nearly 100k words of my ship before I saw other people that wasn't me making posts and AUs about them. Before I saw more fics with that ship posted in AO3.

I just sat down and made content.

"Why are people sleeping on these ships?"

"Why isn't [CharacterA/CharacterB] more popular?"

"Anger Management is great, but I'd prefer if it was done this way instead."

THEN GO MAKE THE CONTENT YOURSELF.

Again, this isn't an attack on you personally, is a PSA to anybody out there being pissy about Anger Management and shitting on it just to make other ships look better or more interesting; or wondering out loud why this ship is popular and their ship is not, behaving as if it were all a plot to make Anger Management more popular on purpose.

Stop that.

Multiple ships can coexist in peace, no need to put down the popular ships unnecessarily. Is not rocket science.

ahhh I have manyyy bc I usually hyperfixate on one ship per fandom but i do also enjoy a lot of canon side pairings (and also combos that include my OTP)

- i really love Sam/Eileen, Willow/Tara, Xander/Anya, Angel/Cordelia and Wesley/Fred

- i think the concept of Dean/Cas/Jimmy, Cas/Jimmy or Dean/Jimmy is really interesting

~5yo - Sailor Moon/Pokemon: baby's first fandoms in that i was drawing, cosplaying, coming up with my own stories, asking for merch, and my family and friends knew that i Really Liked This Stuff (my 70yo italian nonni were watching SM with me and buying me mewtwo plushies ahhh~)

10yo - Stargate SG-1: the first piece of adult media i got into and also Jack/Sam was the first non-established/assured ship i got invested in, tho I didn’t really “make” anything for the show, tho i did get my first experience of fanworks via a series of comics

14yo - Danny Phantom: probably what most people would consider my first actual fandom! (happy 20th anniversary today !!!) i watched one episode and immediately decided i wanted to learn how to draw the artstyle and it's the reason i started drawing people more than animals! i became very quickly obsessed with the show and wanted More™ between weekly episodes and that’s when i discovered online fandom! i learnt about the concept of fanart and fanfic and i lied abt my age to make a DA account so that i could read a fancomic! i did my first RPing on (iirc) TV.com! but despite drawing and crafting and cosplaying and plotting stories, I was still very much just lurking online

18yo - Hetalia: I finally decided to actually start interacting with other people online after making an LJ account and seeing the chaos during the Bloodbath events and wanting to participate :’D made friends in the main comm, and i credit them with convincing me to make a tumblr so that’s how i ended up here lol

I did not take it seriously it was mostly for fun. But it is pretty shitty they used queer-baiting and sterek to promote Teen Wolf. Their primary age teenager and young adult, Stiles and Derek were 15 and 25 when they met they should have not have been encouraging that kind of age gap to their young audience. Though you can not convince my Still was not bi-coded, bi people can still ended up with in a relationship with someone of the opposite gender/sex.

Sam & Freddy, Seddie (iCarly)

If Freddy was a girl and Sam was a boy, their friendship/relationship would have considered abusive and bullying. Boys hitting girls is a big no no.

So, just a question- what was your first ever otp and did you love about it? Mine was from an old underrated anime I rewatch once in a while. It's from my childhood and while the anime didn't explicitly tell us they were a couple, it was obvious. And it literally had everything I look for now- enemies to friends to lovers, jerk with a heart of gold done right, shit ton of angst, protectivnis ( especially on the male side) and eventually happy, open ending. Plus, both characters were willing to let the other be happy even if they couldn't be together. It was cute!

Technically my first 'ship' was Danny/Sam (I predate Amethyst Ocean bitches it's always DxS in my mind) from Danny Phantom but I never like, invested in it. At the time I think I was like 'well this is the canon ship so I gotta support it'.

I think the first time I emotionally invested in a ship was Edwin and Royai from Fullmetal Alchemist. I think that affected my desire for ships that were strong, built on years of trust and love and mutual understanding and not decided by lust. Those are the only ships I can believe in, ones where they're friends first, emotionally compatible, where you can see the impact (positive and negative) being in a relationship has on the other and just sheer comfort and safety from being together.

My top OTPs are Edwin, Doctor/Romana, Timkon, Dickbabs, Tododeku and uhhh I think that's it. I don't think I ship anything else haha.

the first character i ever fell in love with: Sam!

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: I wouldn't say don't like, but it is infuriating how the show just refused to acknowledge Sam's flaws or pretended they were strengths, and it got especially egregious towards the end of the show.

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: For the same reasons, I don't find Sam/Danny as much of the uncomplicated positive as I used to.

my ultimate favorite character™: It is...still Sam, haha. I just see a lot of my teenage self in her.

prettiest character: I mean, they're all cartoons. I can definitely look at Vlad fanart for a significant amount of time, though.

my most hated character: Whoooooo in season 3 annoyed me the most, who in season 3 annoyed me the most...

my OTP: It was Sam/Danny for a very long time but these days it’s mostly Vlad/letting his hair down. Show us the locks, old man!

favorite episode: Oh man it’s been a million years since I watched the show, but I remember having a particular soft spot for “Pirate Radio”. I just love ‘ordinary people working together defeat supernatural threat’ and ‘the peripheral supporting cast get drawn into the Secret World somehow’ and ‘rivals/enemies/nemeses are forced to team up against a greater threat’.

saddest death: I mean technically nobody perma-dies but also technically all the ghosts are dead. But we don’t actually know from canon how most of them died, and Poindexter’s afterlife is sadder than his death imo - what about that Danny clone who melted? I think his death. He didn’t ask to be made! He had no idea what was going on! He was, like, minutes old! None of this was his fault!

favorite season: It has, as mentioned, been a million years, but I think season 2 was really where the show hit its stride.

least favorite season: Season three can eat my shorts.

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: I just don’t caaaaaaaare about Dan that much. There really aren’t any other interesting stories to tell about him. I’m okay with never seeing him again.

OMG, I was a NY addict. It's so nice to revisit my old fandom!

OTP(s): Flack/Angell was my main one. I had issues with Danny/Lindsay when I was still watching the first few seasons, but when I went back to the show in the last season it seemed like they were doing pretty well together. And I was a huge Mac/Stella and Hawkes/Stella shipper. Also, Flack/Maka and Danny/Maka, even though Det. Maka wasn't on much.

What bad take/opinion/trope gets under your skin? I don't think I have one, other than the way they handled the aftermath of Jess's death was really fucking stupid.

What actor best embodies their character? Gary Sinise. He is basically Mac Taylor, as far as I can tell.

Who would you recast? No one. The cast was amazing.

Biggest surprise: The shit they pulled on Marty. It came out of nowhere and was just...WTF-inducing.

Which company in the show would you like to work for? The NYPD crime labs.

Besides the gray ghost angstlist, what was the other fanmix you had for them? Also do you have any headcanons for them?

HEY sorry I took so long to get to this, had a busy weekend and also like, had just started working on another gray ghost mix the day before you sent this?? and was hoping to finish it before i answered?? but it's gonna take some more time to get everything together so!

FIRST OFF my secret is that i am always working on like a billion different gray ghost mixes, because i have a lot of songs for them and a bunch of different configurations for how they could go together! they have a lot going on!! right now the one i almost have done is more focused on the phantom/red huntress dynamic, and the most concrete idea i have for a followup is one specifically about the flirting with disaster moment where they were actually dating

and i do have some headcanons for them (as well as a pretty thorough understanding of how things would develop between them In My Rewrite but that's for another time)! under the cut because this got a little out of hand:

- tbh even when Danny turned his interest to Sam I still think he was really not over Valerie, the fact that Double Cross My Heart opens with him still pining over her and the rest of the episode is meant to convince us he and Sam are the real otp by having them fight the whole time... anyways

- I do think Val still has feelings for Danny at that point as well, she's just better at hiding it and also convinced it's her heroic duty to keep him safe! when Sam and Danny get together she tries dating other people (of any gender bc Val is bi thanks) but finds that none of them seem to get her the way Danny did

- For one they are not nearly as forgiving of her being late or just having to skip dates entirely bc of reasons she can't really explain, whereas Danny was fine with it bc he also did that all the time

- On one of their first dates they go see whatever Blockbuster set in Space is out at the moment and Valerie lets Danny complain about all the inaccuracies on the way home. Val texts Star that she can't hang out bc she's on a date with Danny and Star sends back a screenshot of this

- Valerie is by far the Coolest Person Danny's even been friends with, much less dated. Unless you count when Paulina was being possessed by Kitty, which I do not! Mostly this just means she's significantly less socially awkward than his other friends and follows normie meme accounts and knows tiktok dances

- Meanwhile Danny is by far the least cool person Valerie has ever dated, and she does tease him for being weird sometimes but also thinks it's cute and refreshing and it feels like he just likes her for her, bad parts and all (which really comes into perspective post-reveal)

-this is less a headcanon and more an observation but i think about the part in Flirting With Disaster where Danny tries to convince Sam and Tucker that he and Valerie dating is a good idea and brings up her having a ninth-degree black belt as a PRO like, constantly. The Fentons love women who can fight what can be said

- in fact Danny probably recognizes that if Valerie was the one with the crazy ghost powers and he just had the conventional weaponry he would be a little ectoplasmic goo stain by this point. He certainly does well for himself, but Valerie just has a natural athletic affinity and skill for this kind of thing that he doesn't

- she sucks at video games (in the way people who didn't grow up playing video games do) though, so ha

- i could certainly come up with more (and at multiple points in this i started to ramble about my rewrite timeline and had to cut it back) but this is already so long woops. thank you for giving me an opportunity to talk about them though this was fun

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?  I believe it was in season 1 when Cory pretends to be sick while on a date with Topanga. She brings him soup and they discuss how they aren’t ready to date. They’re just so cute and understanding of each other from the very beginning. 

2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2?  Tons and tons, please suggest more. I’m really in the mood for a future Lucy story. I’ve always wanted more about her diary or how Natsu reacted to her smell/death.

5. Why is 1 so important?  In my opinion while the story telling could have been better this was one of the few cartoons I remember doing character development as well as it did. I remember just getting butterflies watching Danny and Sam fall for each other. Plus I’m a huge sucker for the whole best friends to lovers trope. 😂

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship? Serious. While they have their toxic traits I was so emotionally invested in this ship and I just wanted happiness for both characters. 

7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?  That’s so hard because I love each and every one of these ships. But I have to say Derek and Cassie. They bring out the best in one another and remain a challenge and constant to keep the other grounded. It’s like they complete each other.

8. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond?  Cory and Topanga, no questions asks Cory and Topanga.

9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom?  Currently on my third watch.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?  That’s hard to say because both 3,6, and 7 are married, but I’ll give it to Cory and Topanga since they’ve been together since childhood.

11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up? I believe 3 or 4 times? I may be wrong.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?  Fuck, that’s hard because Natsu and Star are both pretty badass. But I think my little throuple would pull through.

14. Is 4 still together?  Okay so 4 isn’t really cannon, put in my heart yes they are 100% together and have at happy family.

If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?  I think it would turn into a fight to the death between Damon and Natsu over their need to be alpha males, but in the end Lucy would kick all their asses (aside Natsu who would probably sacrifice himself over harming Lucy)

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?  I guess technically Mr. Starr, he did pause Austin’s contract over their relationship.

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond? I refuse to pick which of my children are my favorite.

the first character i ever fell in love with: Josh Lyman. Asleep on his desk, it was love at first sight. 

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: I still like Andi but I like her a lot less than I used to because I cannot figure out what is going on with the pregnancy arc... like have they just not discussed how they plan on raising the kids they are intentionally having together? Toby is doing it badly but at least he’s thinking about it! Andi is just not planning for the future at all. It doesn’t make sense. 

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: I have complicated feelings about Toby/Andi. I shipped them when I first watched the show five years ago and I still think they have chemistry... I just want them to be a family... but watching now I think them getting together would be a bad idea. Also I’m always pro women turning down marriage proposals and meaning it. 

my ultimate favorite character™: Josh. It’s still Josh. 

prettiest character: Oh jeez. Uh. CJ??

my most hated character: Bob Russell. I blame him for Will and Donna turning into completely different people. 

my OTP: Honestly this is hard. Like the obvious choice is Josh/Donna, but I engage in Josh/Sam and CJ/Danny more. I’m generally here for the friendships and found family, the ships are secondary. 

my NOTP: CJ/Toby as a romantic pairing. I absolutely love them but I can only see it as platonic, and I also think it’s more interesting that way. It used to be Josh/Amy, but while I still think they’re awful together, I’ve been finding a lot more about their relationship interesting lately. It’s Josh’s first relationship since almost dying, that’s interesting.

saddest death: Leo, but I feel like that’s cheating. I know they didn’t have a lot of options with John Spencer’s unexpected death, but having Leo die under nearly identical circumstances to Josh’s father was really A Choice. It’s Mrs. Landingham otherwise.

 1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?

Star Trek: Voyager, I suppose at least for reading. Started writing with Stargate SG-1.

 2. What is your latest fandom?

I dip in and out of lots of fandoms on and off, the most recent ‘pick up’ is Ballam from Eastenders, I don’t watch soaps, but Robron and Ballam both appear a good bit on my tumblr, so I eventually gave in to checking them out via fic and youtube – thank god for youtube, lol! I still don’t watch soaps, but I watch those storylines!

 3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

Gosh, that’s... actually no that’s really easy. Primeval. For anyone not familiar, it’s a ‘silly little dinosaur show’ produced in the UK. It had 4 short seasons, with a somewhat revolving main cast – although they managed to keep 3 of them through all 4 seasons – but the fandom was/is amazing. I made life long friends through the fandom and even though I don’t write much any more I still read some and still talk with those people.

 4. Do you regret getting involved in any fandoms?

I would say no. I can’t say every fandom has always been amazing – ship wars anyone! – but mostly fandom has been a very positive experience in my life.

 Stargate SG-1: Jack/Sam, I just... no. I’ve read a few where it’s a background or secondary pairing, but it always makes me wince a bit. I’ve read a few with Sam/Daniel as a secondary pairing that didn’t make me react that way and I’ve read Sam with other characters, but Jack/Sam just is a nope for me.

Stargate Atlantis: McKay/Keller – no, just no. that was horrible. She treated him like... awfully, trying to change him to suit her, just... no.

Marvel: Contentious, but Tony/Pepper, also Peter Parker/Tony Stark. Maybe because I saw the movies before I ever looked at the comics, but meh.

Due South: Benton Fraser/Ray V – again, contentious, but honestly I think Ray V was kind of a shit friend to Fraser.

Firefly: Anything with Jayne. No really, I just can not stand the character. I spent most of the series wanting to punch him in the face and sometimes you get characters you love to hate, but I just hated him.

Buffy/Angel Verse: Buffy/Spike, Willow/Kennedy

Harry Potter: Ron/Hermione, Ron/Harry, Harry/Ginny... basically, Ron and Ginny should just be loveless hermits who live by themselves. Ok, no, that isn’t fair... but as much as Ron was Harry’s first friend, he was selfish and bitter and Ginny/Harry just... never sat right with me. Ron literally says she spent ‘all summer talking about’ Harry, when she’d met him for all of three seconds. She didn’t know him. It always felt like she fell more in love with the *idea* of Harry Potter, than Harry Potter himself.

Sherlock: Sherlock/Molly, he’d eat her for breakfast. Serious, she’d never survive him.

Primeval: Oliver Leek and anyway. Arg. Creepy little dude is creepy and evil.

NCIS: Ziva/DiNozzo – ugh, just no.

I dabble in several fandoms at once... but if we go by ‘most recently picked up’ as ‘current’ we’re talking Ballum, which hey, it’s always fun to have an actual canon pairing be my OTP, that’s rare for me, lol.

 10.  Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?

Well (so far) I haven’t written any Ballum. (I say so far, because I’m a realist, lol). I rarely read in fandoms and not end up writing in them at some point. Although I have probably dabbled in a few I’ve not written for, but if I read it with any sort of consistency, I mostly end up writing it. I am weak!

Okay, so that list above, just basically go with that. While I do drop in and hour of fandoms and some I certainly read in more than others, I do tend to go back to fandoms... If we were talking about what I’m mostly focused on writing atm... Steve/Tony, Mycroft/Lestrade, Harry/Draco and Robron are ones I’m currently working on most.

 12. Who is your current OT3?

I’m not currently writing anything that’s OT3 with any real focus. I have a couple of Neal/Peter/Elizabeth WiPs that I will at some point finish, but they aren’t a big focus just now. I did recently read a fabulous Neal/Peter/Elizabeth fic that’s been on my tbr list for ages.

Harry Hart/Merlin, those two are Bro’s until the end and I will fight you on this. Also, Eggsy/Roxy! OMG they are such a BroTP! And Tony/Pepper/Rhodey – I may no like Tony/Pepper as a pairing, but I love them as best friends and of course, our Rhodes, because again, I will fight you on this, they are awesome and Tony needs his best friends!

 15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I’m not sure there is. I suppose I’ve read a few fics for some random pairings over the years, but nothing that’s made me really ship-ship them. I like Clint Barton/Bucky Barnes, after seeing it as a secondary pairing in a Steve/Tony fic, but I’ve seen that pop up a few times since, so maybe it won’t stay obscure for long!

 16. Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?

Jack/Sam, Tony/Pepper, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Buffy/Spike – they all seem to be het pairings, oops. But I am mostly a slash fic reader/writer, so I suppose that’s not too surprising.

 17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite?

Jack/Daniel from Stargate SG-1. I still love them. I still read them, although it has been a while since I’ve written them on their own (I have got some SG-1/SGA x-overs where they feature)

I’m genuinely not sure... without going and counting (and I’m not going any counting!) I’d guess Jack/Daniel, McKay/Sheppard, Jack/Ianto and Steve/Danno.

No, not that I can think off. I either like it or not. I do occasionally feel bad for not reading a fic if it’s an author I really like, but I don’t read that fandom or pairing, but nothing specific.

 21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?

 Stargate SG-1, Jack/Daniel, a story called The Dare, The Disaster, The Almost Happy Ending, And The Very Happy Ending – it was awful. Don’t go looking, lol!

 22. Is there anything you regret writing?

Don’t we all? No, I wouldn’t specifically say so. There are certainly fics, especially older ones, I wish I could have written better, but nothing I’d go, ugh I should never have done that.

 23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

Uh... honestly that’s really hard. I... um... yeah, I don’t know, really. I wrote a nice little flower one in POI that I felt worked rather beautifully. The Language of Flowers. An I wrote an SGA fic for NaNo a few years ago, called A Different Life, but it’s not online, because I didn’t finish it yet and I knew I wasn’t going to finish it any time soon, so I didn’t feel it was fair to leave it up unfinished (there is a reason I don’t read WiP fics and I don’t post them either, because I know how much I hate unfinished WiPs) Edit: After writing this I reminded myself of a POI fic I wrote called Hours of Separation – It’s a Harold/John break up story that I always intended to write a sequel too where I ‘fixed’ them, but I just couldn’t do it. I broke them a little too well. But I really love it actually.

 24. What fic do you desperately need to rewrite or edit?

The afore mentioned A Different Life needs to be edited and finished, lol! Also a Primeval fic with the working title Crypt Keeper (don’t ask) that I worked myself into a bit of a corner on and I figure out how to fix it, but I haven’t done it yet, so it’s still needs fixing and finishing, lol!

 25. What’s your most popular fanfic?

I haven’t the foggiest.

 26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?

Sometimes, really easily, a quote, a line from the fic, a song title... other times it’s like pulling teeth, hence working titles on things like ‘crypt keeper’ which is a reference to one scene near the very start and has no actual hint of the plot, lol!

 27. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?

Oh the titles. Summaries you can just copy a few lines from the fic if you are desperate, if you had to post ‘untitled mcshep fic #67’ people would get cranky, lol, hell I’d get cranky!

 28. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?

Oh... I... huh. I mean who wouldn’t love fanart for their stories? Any of them honestly! But if I had to choose just one... I guess something in my Animal Instinct verse, which is Primeval (although I always intended to write other fandoms in the verse) where some people transform into animals, based on their ‘spirit animal’ and some art of the characters with their spirit animal form would be awesome.

 29. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not?

Sometimes, look if you’ve read this far, you know I write in a lot of fandoms, lol. In some fandoms it’s easier than others to find beta readers. Also, sometimes if it’s just something short, I won’t bother. But I do try for my longer fics.

 30. What inspires you to write?

That old adage, if you want to read it, sometimes you just have to write it? Spite? Boredom? Honestly sometimes I just have ideas I have to get out of my brain and it’s write or go mad(der)

 31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?

That it inspired them to write something.

 32. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band or genre of music does it for you?

Sometimes, sometimes I find it distracting when writing because I end up singing along and forgetting what I’m writing, lol! I do sometimes get inspiration from songs, I guess mostly from the lyrics, but no particular band or genre – although I listen to a lot of country music!

Around 60k, I think.

I have. Primeval had/has a week drabble challenge, mostly when I’ve written drabbles it’s been for a challenge, with a specific prompt.

Uh... I mean, my fandoms really span the genres, but I guess sci-fi or crime are probably my favourites.

Third mostly, I have occasionally written in first person, if it felt like the fic needed it.

Little from column a, little from column b... it depends on the fandom and the story. Sometimes you just need more characters, mostly they are minor roles, I don’t tend to write much established character/oc fic

 39. What is your greatest strength as a writer?

Ability to convince myself people will want to read it, lol! No actually to be honest, I love to know people read and like my stuff, but I gave up a long time ago on trying to ‘please’ people with what I write. I write what I want to read.

 40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

Focus. The problem with 21 years of fandom history, is well... 21 years of fandom history. A lot of fandoms, a lot of pairings and as I say, I never really ‘leave’ a fandom, I just drop in and out and sometimes that means I’ll write on something consistently for weeks or months and then end up getting distracted by another fandom again and not touch it for weeks or months again. Hence, I don’t post WiP fics, because I know I’m easily distracted and don’t want anyone to suffer my lack of focus but me.

I mean, it depends on what they like... probably the Hour of Separation I mentioned above, if they like the fandom/pairing, or my Animal Instinct stuff.

 47. Archive Of Our Own, Fanfiction.net or Tumblr - where do you prefer to post and why?

Archive of our Own. I haven’t touched ff.net in *years* since they started getting super restrictive about what you could post. I do occasionally post stuff to tumblr, but mostly I now post to AO3. I did have my own site and I’ve yet to upload a lot of stuff to AO3 – one of these... months... that will be a project – but it’s amazing. Seriously, having been in fandom 20+ years, going from having to search all over a million different places and now it’s all in one place, where we’re honestly, spoiled and protected. The kids now have no idea how crazy impossible that once seemed.

 48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not?

Yes, but not as often as I should. I love AO3s kudos button, so I can sort of say ‘hey I enjoyed this’ without having to comment, because I sort of hate leaving comments just going ‘hey I enjoyed this’ because I always feel like I should say more, like, oh I enjoyed this specific thing, which yes is an unnecessary hang-up, but there ya go.

 49. Do you care if people comment/reblog your writing? Why/why not?

Of course it’s nice to get comments, kudos, reblogs etc. I’m not as attached to them now as I was when I was younger, because I learned along the way that it was more important that I like what I’m writing than that other people do, but it’s still nice to know that something I’ve created is enjoyed.

 50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?

I went looking for Star Trek Voyager stuff online, pics etc, waaaaaaay back when! And I came across fanfiction entirely by accident... and I read some – het stuff mostly, then I started watching Stargate SG-1, went looking for fanfiction for that, but was not on board with Jack/Sam, found Jack/Daniel went ‘huh really? That’s weird’ read it... and yeah... 21 years later... lol!

Ship Wars. No seriously, just don’t. Like, who the actual fuck cares. I like my ship, you like your ship. I don’t care if it’s canon or not. I don’t care if it’s popular or not. my ALL TIME, dearest headcanon is adhd josh. i just. i love my boy so much. i love my impulsive, ridiculously-sensitive-to-perceived-rejection, loud, hyperfixated boy so much. i don’t know everything about adhd, but from what i know josh is TEXTBOOK. or at least he’s a lot like me! and i’m reasonably sure i have adhd. so. i’m REALLY, REALLY into that headcanon and everything about it. (i actually wrote a fic in which i wrote him the way i see his adhd presenting, because i love him so much. hmm, i should write a fic about josh being adhd. what kind of stims would josh like??)

i love and adore josh/donna, like many many other people. i like zoey/charlie, just because i think they make each other happy and both of them deserve that. i... like cj/danny? sorta? i think they’re adorable, and they have some REALLY good moments (no spoilers but. oh my god. danny really out here chugging his respect women juice and i love him for it). but also i am EXTREMELY ATTACHED to cj/toby and more specifically cj/toby/andy.

HEAR ME OUT. cj has EXTREME wlw energy and cj and toby have A LOT of married energy but then toby and andy... love each other so much, it’s so clear, in literally everything they do, i don’t know if you’ve gotten to the end of s5 yet but i cry. so like?? obviously, because i am who i am, polyamory is the answer! basically the rundown is: andy and toby are a typical couple except that they fight a lot. cj is kinda in the middle. if gay marriage had been legal / socially acceptable in the 80s (because god knows this ot3 has been thinking about optics since they graduated college), cj and andy would’ve gotten married and toby would’ve come and gone depending on who he’d pissed off recently, and everything would’ve been perfect. instead, andy and toby got married and it didn’t work because they really just couldn’t function as a unit, especially since their getting married meant that cj isolated herself a bit more. definitely cj and toby have a couple of SCREAMING arguments about the whole relationship. idk.

but just like. imagine with me, if you will, cj and toby... not dating, while working in the white house, but being exes. friendly exes. friendly exes who are still in love with each other and know it. please imagine that and then think about “i love you desperately / i know” and “you wanna make out with me right now, don’t you? / well, when don’t i?” and “we had it good there for a while / yeah, we did” and then join me in the pit of sadness.

(sidenote i have a sense8 au for the west wing and the second story is just me being emotional about their cluster for 5k. i have another story vaguely planned that i’ll probably never write about the development of the ot3 and about their cluster and how it functions. but don’t read that story until you finish... the first half of s7? or thereabouts? actually probably you should finish the show before you read the sense8 au in general if you’re avoiding spoilers.)

so yeah. those are my ships. i know a lot of people shipped josh/sam, but i don’t really see it? sam always seemed Way Too Straight for that to work lol, although i DO like the idea of sam pining tragically for josh for years just like donna does. (can you tell i read such a winter’s day a few days ago? it’s amazing. i haven’t left a review yet because i have not been a human being recently, but go read it!! it’s awesome!!)

also, i love the idea of bartlet/abbey/leo, although i can’t really visualize it lol. but there’s some amazing fic for them out there. maybe one day my stupid brain will realize the angst potential and actually let me write something for them, hopefully within the sense8 au. (sam also has a cluster! and i would love to write about them! .....but my brain doesn’t do what i tell it to. ever.)

my favorite arc.... i don’t know. i really loved the early seasons, which were a little more episodic, but ALSO i actually really liked the tone after aaron sorkin left after s4? it takes some getting used to, but it’s WAY more emotional, and i am ALL HERE FOR THAT. i definitely have a least favoite arc, or at least a least-favorite way-that-they-handled-a-storyline (spoiler alert: i hated how they handled the end of bartlet’s presidency in the white house. like. SHE’S ALL ALONE IN THERE- anyways. trying not to give detailed spoilers!)

favorite episodes: hmm. i love the thanksgiving episodes. i loved any episode with the ainsley-and-sam dynamic. noel is a phenomenal episode. 26 could make anyone weep. the flashbacks are the best. the fucking- the fucking what’s next motif.

honestly, probably i’d have to say my favorite episode is either 4x20 (evidence of things not seen, for “stupidly noble cluster” reasons and cj/toby reasons and bartlet & charlie reasons. also i feel like there’s some good josh/donna there too but i can’t remember exactly?) or 7x21 (institutional memory, because i’m pretty sure the writers reached into my id and pulled out EXACTLY what i needed from them to be okay with the show ending. jesus CHRIST i have never felt so satisfied after an episode. literally everything i ever could have wanted happened in that episode. i’m STILL reeling. it’s a perfect episode.)

my favorite characters are... literally everyone? i know that’s cheating but i love them all SO MUCH (except mandy and amy, of course). josh is my favorite, always and forever, but i love cj more than words and sometimes i can’t breathe for love of toby. leo and bartlet and charlie and sam and donna- here i was thinking i was gonna resent will forever but i LOVE will. ainsley is an amazing woman. abbey is such a good character, god, talk about a flawed woman who’s allowed to be a good person.

AND THEN THEY MADE ME ROOT FOR A REPUBLICAN. again, i doubt you’ve gotten to s7, but the republican nominee in the last election... jesus christ. i love that man so much. arguably, i’m very biased, but also how D A R E they expect me to root against him. how DARE.

(i swear this will make more sense once you meet him. i just love the actor a lot, okay?)

1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?

The first I got involved in? Not wrote, but just... involved. Mh. It’s gotta be One Piece, that’s where I discovered fanart and fanfiction for the first time. First fic I ever read was some self-insert love-triangle between a Mary-Sue and Luffy and Ace and I absolutely loved it because the mere fact that here, for free, I just got to read about my favorite characters and my favorite anime was absolutely mindblowing.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

I mean. 75% of the ships I love are “obscure”. I... I always find the very obvious mainstream ships... boring. I mean, sometimes I find them nice in canon, but mostly I find canon to provide enough about them that I don’t really need fandom to get more of it, you know? Or, which also often happens, I find the mainstream ships have more of a very strong friendship-dynamic, or even a sibling-dynamic in some cases, and I just can’t really find it in myself to want to see them in a romantic way.

So, if I have to pick an, as in one, obscure ship, I will have to go with my top OTP. Jagnus. Jace and Magnus literally lived together, in both the show-canon and the book-canon, yet somehow it is an “obscure” ship. I mean, not somehow, we all know why. It’s the unwritten fandom rule of “canon mlm shall NEVER EVER BE BROKEN UP HOW DARE YOU SHIP ONE WITH SOMEONE ELSE”. You have no idea how often that rule has come between me and my OTP. Basically every time there is a canon mlm ship, really.

And this in no way or shape means to criticize those who only ship canon and are content with it, you do you, but I do find the lack of creativity in shipping in fandom where there is a canon mlm ship... really damn boring. Fandoms without canon mlm representation have the wildest constellations of ships, have a far broader variety of content, but when there is canon mlm, the majority of a fandom tends to just happily sit down with it and hug it and prefer not to be creative with the content and the shipping. And as a certified multishipper, I don’t really get that - like, even if you like the canon, you could have multiple ships?

17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite?

My first OTP was Shere Khan/Bagheera, because gods do I love Jungle Cubs. And while other ships I interact more with have pushed it off the throne, if I see any form of Sheregheera content, I am immediately sucked in, no questions asked, no hesitation. I am utterly in love with this very rare, small, very obscure actually, ship and I will always love it and it still is one of my favorites.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.

Ooof. Interesting one. I’ve done a variety of PJO fics I’m particularly fond of in previous versions of such a question, so let’s go with something else this time. “The Lost Soulmarks”. It’s, at this point, probably my own personal most reread story. I just reread it the other night, actually. It just - it hits all of the right spots in what I want from a fic. Very often, I write to please my readers, with “What do my followers like most?” in my mind at least to a certain degree, but some things are absolutely self-indulgent. And I should really write more absolutely self-indulgent fics because those are the ones I myself keep coming back to. It has ABO-verse, it has soulmates, it’s Jace-centric, with lots of love, misunderstandings but not the kind where one of them is to blame but rather where it’s due to the circumstances, it’s really emotionally painful, but pays off in the end. It’s... seriously those are all the things I love.

1) Ulrich x Yumi (Code Lyoko)

My ultimate OTP whose show ended 11 years ago but is still the ship I will captain forever. Yes, these precious idiots who had the most on/off “We’re just friends but not really” relationship filled with angst cause by your own actions. I love you. You were my childhood. You were fantastic. I lived for blushy moments or where you saved each other or any kind gesture whatsoever. I can find no faults with you except you two were idiots about your feelings for each other even though you both knew you loved each other so much, platonically or otherwise. I wish the writers actually wrote the two of you getting together instead of implying it.

2) The Love Square (Miraculous)

My current obsession. You two are so much like my OG pairing of loving each other but “we’re just friends” at the same time. I love how you have four sides that can be written every which way and still be perfectly beautiful. Once again, I wish the writers wrote you two better and treated you right instead of dragging you two around even more ridiculously than the writers dragged out Ulrich x Yumi.

3) Cheesecake/ Plagg x Tikki (Miraculous)

My dear kwamis, just like Adrien and Marinette, you two are made for each other and I love you two together. More so, I love the potential of the two of you together. You two are far too cute for your own good, and when you are turned into humans by the fandom, I feel your potential only increases and I live for your interactions. I love writing you two, so much, and I swear, I will hunt down every halfway decent fanfiction of you two and live off it.

4) Donatello x April (TMNT 2012)

No hate, but confession time; I used to ship them. Hard. My ship has somewhat faded away, but the reason they are on this list is because they were the first pairing I ever wrote fanfiction for. And it is still on DeviantArt. Donnie, your crush on her was adorable yet painful at times, but your friendship was written nicely and you two cared for each other and we all lived for any little spark between you.

5) Danny x Sam (Danny Phantom)

I have so many that could be number 5 on this list but I came to the conclusion that it should be Danny and Sam because I just... I really liked these two so much growing up. I consider them more fondly than my other childhood ships because these two were just made for each other and I lived for anything remotely romantic between these two in the show. That was one of the main reasons I watched the show; their dynamic was fantastic and I loved them.

G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in itEither Victor and Emily from Tim Burton’s the Corpse Bride or Danny and Sam from Danny Phantom. Those four were probably the first human characters that I tried to do fanart of when I was a kid.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanonRapunzel’s first real slumber party happened after the show and included Cass, Red and Angry, Vex, Freidborg, some of the other ladies-in-waiting, and Adira. After being denied food that was only for the guests, Eugene and Lance decided they’d throw a party of their own and upstage the girls. Their party ended up including Max, Pascal, Stand and Pete, Varian, Ruddiger and Owl. With most of their guests being animals and all of the guests begging the girls to let them join their way more fun party for a few hours, it’s safe to say that Rapunzel and Cass won this round.

I’m constantly torn between wanting to draw my fanart in the style of the show or in my own style. On the one hand, drawing in the style of the show has become a habit and I love the way it looks. On the other hand, if I do it in my own style I could make it look more like a 2-D Disney film which I would love to see and I think others would like to see it too. I’ve just drawn in the show’s style so much lately that it has become the default whenever I do anything Tangled-related.
