Is it possible for Danny to have a female clone as a male?

Short answer: Kinda. There are multiple options.

I'm not an expert by no means, but I'll try to simplify cloning for you. Also, reproductive cloning of humans is more of theoretical field than anything.

Let's start of with this: Dani probably isn't exactly a clone. A cloned embryo is essentially an identical twin of the original organism. She isn't that, because she isn't the same sex. Even if clones are genetically identical with one another, they will not be identical in physical or behavioral characteristics, because DNA is not the only determinant of these characteristics. That's why she is shorter, not as thin, behaves differently etc. Dani was made by reproductive cloning - the process of cloning an entire organism.

So, how to make Dani out of Danny?

To create a female clone from a man you could take his cells and turn off the Androgen receptor genes. The person will develop as female with XY chromosomes and will have Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. This method creates genotypically male individual but phenotypically female, making them intersex. This would make a clone, but it wouldn't be "genetically" female.

Deleting the Y chromosome. This will create a female child with Turner's Syndrome. Most of the effects of which can be countered with hormone supplements at appropriate development stages.

Duplicate the male X chromosome - turning an XY into an XX. Though the resulting individual wouldn't be a perfect clone because the proportions of source DNA wouldn't be right, all the source material would come from the original male.

Bring in donor chromosomes from an unrelated female. All other genes will be identical to the "parent's" genome, and by controlling which X is active (only single X is active in a female). The 'clone' wouldn't be as identical as the other methods.

So yeah, either Danny is trans or Dani is intersex :D

Regarding The Ancients (Part 2)

I think this screenshot says it all. In the last post I talked about the Ancients in general and there are a lot of great candidates for who they were in the Danny Phantom cast. After all, villains could count among them too because all Skulker said was that “...a group of powerful ancient ghosts banded together in a last ditch effort to defeat the King” which when you think about it doesn’t necessarily mean they were all ‘good’ ghosts. They probably had no choice but to become allies to take down someone who threatened the balance of both worlds...

Still, I like to think of most of them as the good guys so we’ll start with them.

Clockwork is obviously the most logical choice because not only is he already wearing a purple cloak that’s extremely similar to the Ancients in the flashback, but he also has statues of the Grim Reaper, aka Death, all over his tower along with lots of scythes. But it makes sense given how he’s probably old enough to have known Death personally. Bonus points if they were brothers since time and death go hand in hand.

Sorjourn is another mysterious figure we know very little about but it would make sense for him to be one of the Ancients too, perhaps even their leader. In fact, before they defeated Pariah he probably had to make himself scarce since he didn’t want his vast knowledge of the Ghost Zone to be abused. Especially since he’s the only ghost rumored to have found a path to the Elsewhereness, aka their version of paradise or heaven. My personal headcanon is that he CREATED the Infimap and then entrusted it to Frostbite who we’ll get to in a second.

Frostbite is definitely up there too just like @ecto-stone​ pointed out since he’s implied to be old enough to have been around with his tribe during Pariah Dark’s original reign of terror. His cloak may be tattered, but he’s wearing one too which is a good sign in my book.

Nocturne is definitely another prime candidate and ironically, I wrote in one of my fanfics that he DID help trap Pariah Dark in an eternal but dreamless sleep so he couldn’t plot anything while imprisoned. Obviously he’s not wearing a cloak but since Nocturne is literally shrouded in shadows its pretty much the same thing. I like to think he didn’t used to be all that evil, he just got tired of having to live off of the ‘scraps’ of human dreams and later on decided to take matters into his own hands and put them to sleep by force to harvest a lot more energy at once.

As much as I like Undergrowth, personally I can’t see him as an Ancient only because from what I can tell he’s been dormant on Earth for a long time and even Frostbite is wary of him when he mentioned him to Danny, implying that he’s never met him but knows how dangerous an enemy he is. I can’t see him working with anyone since his priorities seem to lie with protecting plant life from foolish humans which are mostly found on Earth anyway so I doubt the political affairs of the Ghost Zone back then concerned him much.

That, or as a plot twist maybe he could have been one of Pariah’s allies.

In exchange for Undergrowth, I think Pandora is a great fit since she already created Pandora’s Box to contain the greatest evil so wouldn’t it stand to reason she could use her skills to build the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep too? Plus, there’s more skeleton symbolism at the altar her box is kept. Greeks had Sarcophagus’s too, but theirs were literally more like ornate coffins or ironically boxes.

Then again, the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep looks more Egyptian than Greek. So maybe an unknown Egyptian ghost was one of the Ancients instead?

The Observants obviously care a lot about maintaining balance but they even say all they can do is watch so I kinda doubt they had an active role in defeating Pariah apart from giving council. Honestly, that’s probably why Clockwork detests them so much because they're all talk while HE and the other Ancients actually did something proactive to stop Pariah.

So anyways, long story short I think Clockwork, Sorjourn, Frostbite, and Nocturne are pretty much locked in as Ancients in my eyes which only leaves the remaining three. Pandora might be one along with an Egyptian spirit like Anubis which I would absolutely love since he’s a god of the dead. I only say A god because I think a lot of different religious figures are real in the world of Danny Phantom and are more likely to be ancient god-like spirits.

Lastly, to go along with Anubis, it’s possible that Death takes on many different forms so they could be the same entity or entirely separate ones. If it’s the latter, then it makes perfect sense that the classic Grim Reaper would be one of the Ancients.

And that makes seven.

In the end though, these are just my personal thoughts and there is no right answer since there’s just not enough information to go off of. It’s all pure guess work which is both a blessing and a curse in the phandom. Still, I hope you enjoyed hearing my thoughts and I’d love to hear more of yours too!

Ah, and before I forget, here’s a bonus idea. I have a personal headcanon that some of Aragon and Dora’s ancestors fought against Pariah and lost, hence why he has skeleton dragons in his army.

Sam is her middle name.  She HATES her first name and will throw hands with anyone who uses it.  Her parents laugh off the idea of letting her legally change it.

She could go by a nickname but a nickname is going to prompt questions of “What’s your real name?” and she knows that there will be some people and some settings where they will just refuse to call her by a nickname.  Mr, Lancer for example would never refer to one of his students so informally.

But a middle name is still a legal name and no one would suspect that it’s not her first.

as he develops and truly accepts that he partially died in the portal what if his lichtenburg scars appear more prominently and then transform in appearance to look more like snowflake crystals (to reflect his ice core)

So I know this is probably old hat by now, but hear me out.

When danny entered the portal his soul(a part of him or something else) was sent into the ghost zone preventing him from dying entirely. Given this when ever he would transform he would create a portal around him and passing through it his ghost would come though, as well as in his first few months would be difficult for him to gain control over is powers because his soul was split in two and the other in the ghost zone. It's almost like his own ghost his possessing him. Just think of the the fact that somewhere in the GhostZone is Danny's Ghost half, maybe one of the ghosts are keeping it safe. Clockwork maybe.

It makes a lot of sense that there would be a lot of haunted videogames, now that I think about it. Like, in classicvexamples it's a tangible item that has strong emotional associations for the deceased. It's a gateway to a world built to be a get-away from reality, immersive and fun and with tasks- purpose. And, honestly? The level of control could hit that niche for a haunt, like a snail moving into a shell vs a bird building a nest.

The ghost wouldn't even need to be that strong ro just inhabit the game itself, and the longer it's there the more it could influence. Meaning you could have something on-par with a creepypasta or just some npc no other person has ever heard of nor documented in this one part of a tavern in your rpg.

The trend of making games with digital download vs physical cartridges/disks could significantly affect this however. Where the majority of the game isnt even attached to the physical item it's a matter of downloading onto the console.

We know that ghosts with an alignment to tech CAN enter digital space because of Technus. Which makes the pc space of haunting a whole thing unto itself. From what I've heard with Nintendo limiting releases and accessibility to games, the lack of control over the digital space for a ghost could be an issue ghosts who lingered on older generations of games didn't have the same trouble with.

The potential for it being under the Ghost King's duties to hear for motions of action for affecting the living world for the security/viability off haunts connected to that realm!

Like Sydney Pointdexter's mirror. It would make sense that if there was some level of protections on that mirror to have protected it from the living causing harm or disturbance to it given how it lasted so long without a single crack. The fact that Danny did could be from his being partially a ghost and potentially partially the fact he switched bodies with Sydney and might have become recognized as a part of that space.

So to round it all out, Danny fulfilling some kingly duties with help from Tucker on finding out more about the current state of video games and what stories of glitches are legit.

NEW HEADCANON

Ok so i’ve had this idea ping ponging off the inside of my skull for a while so time to inflict it on you guys. Danny’s power copying isn’t actually unique to him, and it isn’t even a ‘power’ so to speak. this idea is basically that on a technical level, all ghost powers can be used by all ghosts, ectoplasm is ectoplasm after all, but in practice, since a ghost’s powers are expressions of their own psyche/soul/mentality yadda yadda you get the idea, that using someone else’s powers requires you to Relate to them, like big time, full on, recognition of the self in the other kinda stuff. The reason Danny keeps pilfering powers left right and center is a combination of a desperate need to understand his state of being causing him to pay a lot of attention to his foes, and his heightened empathy for others. The only powers that Danny has that are completely HIS are the ghost sense, the ice powers, and to a lesser degree making his family’s tech actually work (as we see with the thermos in episode one), and the transformation between human and ghost forms, the Wail is shaky territory but i’ll get into that. He gets duplication from Vlad, easy to see where he’s getting that connection from with the only other Halfa

Telekinesis is something we’ve only seen him use once and that was after the biggest insecurity of the Box Ghost was revealed, which was not being taken seriously gee i wonder if Danny might relate to That. Remind me what Boxy does with those boxes he’s always after? Makes them float around you say? Entering people’s dreams seems to be an extension of overshadowing but we only see him do it after he’s come into contact with Nocturne’s power, Nocturne feeds on people’s aspirations and in a warped way wants to give people what they want, so the emotional comprehension seems to be happening in reverse but it’s still present so it’s on theme.

Possessing technology is something he gets from Technus, obviously, and it wouldn’t take much for an underappreciated ‘freak’ to vibe with another one, even if it’s one he doesn’t like.

Weather control seems like it only exists briefly but we do see Dan use it so eh, but the entire point of that episode is that the weather powers are not controlled with his mind but his emotions so again, emotions and copied powers being connected is once again a factor.

and then there’s the wail, which is still technically Danny’s own power, but he copies it from his future self. And i really don’t need to explain how it fits in with this idea, of course recognition of the self in the other is gonna be going on when the other is literally you

Hello, everyone! Today I will talk about interesting and unusual theory.

Ghost King status is not what we all think it is.

I had that idea when studied the concept of "Rat Lion" or "Rat King" (sorry, don't know correct english equivalent).

If talk in general, Rat King are a cannibal rat who grew bigger, stronger and become more aggressive than other rats. Prefers other rats for food, but doesn't mind eating other animals or even humans if the opportunity presents itself.

Obviously, other rats don't like that "apex predators" and tries to avoid meeting with them at any costs.

That's remind me of Pariah Dark and his relationship with other ghosts.

When he was released from sarcophagus ghosts ran. Not tried to fight him, bribe, negotiate or cheat, just ran in terror.

I mean, yeah, if he were their king in the sense that we usually put in this word, he might be a terrible person and leader, and he were insanely strong even without his "steroid jewelry", and also have an army, but if he was a king in a classical meaning, it wasn't anything ghosts can't handle. Kings have advisors and retinues that can influence them, after all.

(Pariah have a Fright Knight, but I think he was just attracted by all the horror that Pariah inspired and King didn't eat or kill him because Knight was useful)

But what if he's not only rules, but also does something terrible with his people?

Like, brainwashing, devouring them and their powers.

For ghosts, this must be even worse than death or torture, because their afterlife is directly related to their mental state and powers.

In my opinion, that might make sense, because if Pariah Dark was just a bad king with a little too much of "political hunger" that constantly climbs him and his people into new wars, ghosts could handle it.

Are we talking PARROT or goldfish!? One has the average intelligence of about a human 4yr old and the other is a FISH! People get RIGHTFULLY furious when you treat INTELLIGENT animals badly.

And would, in fact, adapt pretty easy to discovering one of said animal has become HUMAN lvl intelligent. It's easy to grasp the idea of human intelligence lvl dolphin or monkeys. Maybe there was some mutated strain, maybe in uetro tampering. Who knows. But if I tried to sell you a human intelligent housefly? Gold fish? Lizard?

You wouldn't believe me. There is some kind of trick at play.

So if GHOSTS are seen as animals? Everyone nods and then later? Someone comes in TV and very excitedly informs you "we found INTELLIGENT LIFE amongst the ghosts!" You'd believe it. Probably be really excited by your conversation starter for the day. Get a taco and move on with your life.

But? Having to willing sit for a barrage of testing? Is going to suuuuuuck so bad. Poor Danny. SATs all over again. For HOURS. At multiple facilities, just to be CERTAIN it's not a one off. All because he not certain he can insure good behavior from other ghosts and This Is IMPORTANT. He ALSO can't be certain it's even SAFE.

Might be a trap.

But if he has to do it again and again and again? Mexico to Bavaria to China to the Maldives? If this is what it takes for the scientific community to bitchslap the GIW into ORBIT before the UN? Hand him that pencil.

He has no where more important to be.

Regarding The Ancients (Part 1)

We don’t really know all that much about the Ancients who defeated Pariah Dark or what happened to them after they faded into legend, but there are a few things I found interesting about them so I’m here to share my thoughts with you! Now, when Skulker was telling Danny and the others the legend of Pariah Dark’s defeat we saw these representations of the Ancients in the flashbacks but who’s to say if this is what they actually looked like? Personally I like the idea that Clockwork was one of them, but I digress.

Before we get into the rest of it, let’s start with a quick recap of the legend itself!

“It was many years ago. Before you. Before me. Before most of us.

His name was Pariah Dark. And he ruled the Ghost Zone.  He was a ghost of such power and magnitude, only he could control the energies contained within the Crown of Fire and the Ring of Rage. When wearing both- he could do anything.

Until a group of powerful ancient ghosts banded together in a last ditch effort to defeat the King. By locking him within the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep. Or so we thought.”

One thing I really like about the show sometimes is actually the lack of information so we can fill in the blanks or small details that can be expanded upon. For example, while watching a clip of this scene here are a couple of things I noticed:

The Fright Knight brought Pariah Dark the Crown of Fire from somewhere else, suggesting he stole it from someone else, possibly from the Ancients themselves who are safeguarding it for the ‘true’ Ghost King?

The Fright Knight himself placed the crown on Pariah’s head, but Pariah was already wearing the ring so either he ordered the Fright Knight to steal it beforehand as well, or perhaps he personally defeated/destroyed its original owner.

The next part is where it gets interesting for me at least when I noticed a small inconsistency. Up until the end of the flashback there were exactly 6 robed figures, but in the last part there’s an extra, a 7th that wasn’t there before. Did they rejoin the group at the very end to reduce most of Pariah’s Kingdom to ruins? Or were they always there but no one remembers them?

The 7th ancient is really hard to see once they lay waste to Pariah’s Kingdom, but they’re definitely there since there’s a seventh energy ray aimed at the castle. And personally, I like the idea of there being 7 in total because 7 is symbolically seen as an angelic number:

The number seven also suggests completeness. Six still works too since it’s a perfect balance, but again, seven is a lot more mystical in my opinion. And so my question is this-

P.S. I’m only using Lydia to represent the 7th one visually since her cloak is what inspired me to create my oc Azrael along with the Ancients. I’ll continue with a few theories in the next part.

DP x DC: The Rivalry

It's a little-known fact among the Watchtower residents that there is a fierce rivalry going on amongst its members. On one side, the Flash, a core member of the Justice League. On the other, Daniel "Danny" Fenton, Head of Engineering for the Watchtower.

Nobody knows when the rivalry started. Some rumors say that it began when, after hearing the Flash rant about how stupid it is to believe in ghosts, Danny took the effort to reroute all of his outgoing calls to the advice line of the JLD. Others say that after Danny doubled the max speed of one of the jets, Flash took it upon himself to have a joyride in it and then submit a complaint about it being too slow... twelve separate times, each one no more than 24 hours after Danny had finished the last speed improvements.

Ever since, the two have been taking potshots at each other with pranks large and small. Danny arranged a standard maintenance check to change room authorizations... resulting in the Flash being unable to access the kitchens for a week. In return, the Flash spent an entire week replacing every single cup of coffee Danny had with the cheapest, most watered-down decaf he could find - and he swapped out the mugs for Flash-branded ones as well. Danny's modification of the Flash's suit to change colors to randomized sets of the most eye-searingly-bright, clashing colors possible for exactly one second after being exposed to the Speed Force were met with "Kick Me!" signs taped to Danny's back.

But... surely this has gone too far, right? Flash... really can't think of what he can do to top this.

He stares as every single Watchtower engineer zips between tasks using the Speed Force as if it's nothing. It's not a permanent change, thank god, he can see the packs on them that apparently give them the Speed Force, but it's still ridiculous.

You know what, no. He's just... not gonna engage with that. He turns around and leaves the engineering department.

It becomes a lot harder to avoid engagement when, over the course of the day, he has to witness each and every member of the Justice League speed around with a Speed Force pack of their own. Shouldn't Batman and Wonder Woman be above this sort of thing? Why does Superman need to be faster?!

I have a theory!

Duke groaned, his head tumping against his desk on his side of the room. He had heard these words often enough by now to know that his roommate was going to start ranting about something strange but weirdly fascinating again.

The last time his roommate started with that, he went on a rant how all rich people have a secret basement below their homes or some secretly identities with a bulletpoint list of what to look out for as a warning. Which Duke had a hard time not laughing about as he thought about Bruce, who ended up checking a lot of the bulletpoints.

"Danny what is it now?" Duke ended up asking after all. He knew he wouldn't be able to stop his roommate. No one aside from his sister apparently could, Danny even gave her number to Duke as an emergency number in case Danny ever gets so caught up in his own thoughts that even he himself couldn't stop himself anymore. Yeah that was weird to watch Danny trying to stop himself, but it was fascinating that his sister only needed to say his name twice over the speaker.

"Duke hear me out!" Okay of to a good start, so this meant Danny wasn't a hundred percent behind his own theory.

"Red Hood is a ghost or part ghost!"

If Duke had been drinking something, he would have taken a spit take here. For some reasons he had the image of Jason wearing a bed sheet saying the most deadpan 'Boo' in his head when Danny said that. He coughed, trying to hide that amusement. "What makes you say that?"

"You know how you 'saw' that I am a 'Meta'?" Danny ask him in return and Duke nodded still feeling a but weird with how Danny sounded when he refred to himself as Meta but also vividly remembering how his roommate pretty much blinded him on the day he moved into the dorms. "I can kind of see something similar. Like I explained how I have a ghost sense and all that, right?"

"Yea, you did." Duke nodded along, he new his roommate became a Meta through a lab accident. Once Duke had asked him and they had the cleared the air about both of them being Metas, Danny had somewhat opened up a bit on his whole weird family and Duke thought his family wasn't normal but compared to the Fentons the Batfamily might as well could be.

"Well last night I ran into him when I went scrap collecting for my engineering project!"

"DANNY!" Duke couldn't help but scowl. One the school was providing materials, Danny didn't need to do that and two, if he met Red Hood aka Jason that meant Danny wandered far enough to end up near or in Crime Alley! He would need to bug Jason later to find out more about that.

"I know, I know." His roommate waved him off. "Anyway, my ghost sense tingled. Soooo Red Hood got to be a ghost or part ghost, considering he hit a wall instead of phasing through it when he chased me..."

"Danny!" Duke scowled him again, hidding his amusement behind it. Now, he really had to get THAT story out of Jason later, plus he wanted to see if there maybe was possible video proof of Jason running into a wall chasing after Danny.

"Anyway! I got more than just that! Listen here, you know how I told you about some of my parents' inventions..." Danny instead continued finally starting his rant.
