Chapter 1

Prompt: Mermaid AU, where instead of being ectobiologists, Jack and Maddie Fenton study wildlife from under the sea— specifically mermaids. Amity Park is next to multiples large lakes and rivers, the Ghost Zone is underwater, all the ghosts are mers, and Danny is struggling to find a way to explain his sudden aversion to any things water.( By @erebecula )

Summary: Danny Fenton was just fourteen when his parents built a submarine. It was designed to travel to a world unseen. When it couldn't handle the water pressure, his folks quit, but Danny was stupid and went inside of it.

This is chapter one of this series which will probably become my pet project this month.

        Drs. Fenton are marine biologists who have been trying to prove the existence of mers for years. One of their pet projects was a special sub that could help them capture a specimen or two, as well as travel deep enough to find them. Danny was cleaning their lab when he noticed the sub in all its glory. He was curious about the strange vessel and decided to board it. While he was looking around the cockpit, he accidentally bumped a button on the control panel. An alarm blared as the sub was dropped into the depths of the surprisingly deep lake.

    The sub went down and cracked under the pressure. Water rushed in and filled the cockpit. Danny started to tread water. It was no use. Eventually, there was no air left in the sub. The lake water stung his eyes. Danny held his breath as long as he could. He needed to inhale, but he couldn't. Water rushed into his airway, and he started to choke. The lake filled his lungs and he couldn't breath. This was it. He was stupid for ever boarding the sub. His vision blurred. He'll never get to say goodbye to his family or his friends. Danny will never get to be an astronaut. At least, he'll be among the stars. Goodbye world. Everything went black.

     "We got a pulse!" A muddled voice spoke. Danny's eyes flew open as he lurched forward and coughed out a bunch of water onto the blanket on top of him. He was in a hospital, sitting on a gurney. He looked over to see a doctor and nurses as well as his family. His head ached like there was no tomorrow. How did they find him? He was at least 5000 ft below. 

    "What happened?" He asked groggily.

    "We were wondering if you could answer that," his mom said, "we found you washed up on the beach. You-you didn't have a pulse and you weren't breathing. Jazz called the doctor while I started giving you CPR. We were so scared Danny! We thought we were gonna lose you."

    At this point his mother started to cry and pulled him into a hug.

   "Those damned mer probably did this," his dad replied, "I, Jack Fenton, swear to tear them apart for what they did!"

    Danny knew at some point he had to figure out how he got on shore, but in the meantime he was tired. He decided to get some sleep. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be able to go home.

    A blue man with a whipy beard appeared. His complexion was both young and old at the same time. His form appeared to shift with the shimmering in the water between a child, an adult, and an elder. His face wore a gentle smile. He summoned a ball of blue light and blew it towards Danny.

  "You're destined for great things young halfa. You will unite the land and sea. It's only a matter of time."

    The man smiled and faded away.

    Danny woke up super thirsty. He looked around the hospital room for some water. Thankfully, he was given some breakfast which included something to drink. Today he had to do some final check-ups so he can go home.

    The day dragged on. Most of the time he spent texting his friends Sam and Tucker, telling them that he was okay. The doctors came and cleared him. The only concerning thing was his slightly colder body temperature, but that should hopefully go away soon.

    The Fenton Assault Vehicle (equipped with harpoons and nets) rolled up into the driveway of their house. It felt good to be home. Danny walked up to his room and pulled out some clothes for a shower. The grime from the ocean still clung to his skin.

    Danny turned on the faucet in the bath. He ran his hand under the water to see what temperature it was at before he turned to place down his clean clothes. Not a moment after he set his clean clothes down did he notice something shiny on his hand. Were those scales? Sure enough on the back of his hand was blotched with iridescent black scales. He rubbed his hand with a towel, and they disappeared. Maybe he should just go to bed. He's so tired he must be seeing things. Yeah that's it. Just tired.

     Danny laid down in bed and looked out his window towards Lake Amity. He watched the water lap slightly against the sand. It was quite peaceful. A sense of longing filled his heart as he stared at the still, murky waters. He wanted to be out there in the stillness. He has no idea why, especially since he literally drowned like two days ago. He watched the light shimmer against the water and the temptation grew worse. He NEEDED to be out there. The water was calling.

     Danny told his family he was going for a walk and strolled to the rocky beach. He walked over to a part of the cove where he could be alone. The water was calling him.

     Danny stepped into the water and walked in. Scales grew wherever the water touched. He felt rejuvenated. Finally, he walked so deep his head was the only thing above water. The supernatural draw of the lake caused him to go further still, until he was fully submerged. His legs fused and grew into a beautiful black tail with green fins. The black in his hair melted into a snowy white, and his eyes became an emerald green. Gills etched their way on his neck that enabled him to breathe. Webbing grew between his fingers. A dorsal fin sprouted on his back, punching a hole through his shirt. He was no longer just Danny Fenton, the son of  weird marine biologists . He was something new. He was a mer, or at least half of one.

   The water called him, and he answered her.

Danny couldn’t stop the future. That much was true. Despite not cheating on his CAT and doing every single thing by the book to make sure that this future was not a reality, it had happened anyway. The nasty burger had blown up. His parents, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, they were all in the building when it happened.

With his friends and family dead, Danny goes to the only place he thinks is safe. The infinite realms.

As Danny attempts to move on from the tragedy he manages to get summoned by cultists, build a new family for himself and even find love. Not all in that exact order.

Tim Drake thought getting kidnapped by cultists was probably the most annoying thing to have ever happened to him. Little did he know it would also be the best thing to ever happen.

He’d balked when she told him her favourite hero the second time they’d hung out just the two of them. The sun was bright in the sky and already threatening the integrity of the top scoop of his ice cream.

“You don’t just stop looking up to your hometown hero just because you move to a bigger city, Dick,” she’d pointed out with a laugh while he recovered.

“Okay, point. But you’ve been in Gotham a few weeks right? Got any opinions on the Bats’N’Birds?”

She hummed, taking a lick of strawberry while appearing to consider it. “Hard to say without running into any of them,” Jazz started, keeping down a grin of her own when she caught a smirk curling his mouth, “but Red Hood is pretty impressive.”

The smirk dropped into something that could almost be called betrayal and it was all she could do to not snap her fingers with an Aha! as her suspicions took root. “He’s your favourite? Not Nightwing? Or- Orphan? Even Robin?”

She patted his arm, but her smile was mischievous enough to put a ghost to shame. “I didn’t say favourite, it’s just impressive anybody would take on the Narrows for their haunt.” The word crossed her lips before she even realized it. She pressed on before he could ask about it. “Besides, isn’t Nightwing in Bludhaven not Gotham?”

He shrugged, having recovered from his brief pout. “He comes over often enough to lend a hand. He got his start in Gotham you know, before spreading his own wings.”

“It’s good he’s come into his own.”

That got rid of the rest of his hurt pride to give a smile warmer than the sunlight.

Danny Phantom/Gravity Falls idea:

Danny decides to become a sideshow guy in Amity bc ghosts sell and its the most haunted place on earth PROVEN.

But he knows shit about sideshow attractions.

Enter in self discovery in your late teens/early twenties Road trip.

His car breaks down in Gravity Falls bc of course it dose. He's 19, odd and is very much of the if cops aren't around crime isn't a thing persuasion so he ends up working with Stan to get some insight into the sideshow business. He's upfront about it and Stan seeing the opportunity to finally shoe HIS skills not his brothers eats it up.

This is the summer the twins turn up. Danny has one of the spare rooms in the shack and wakes up to the twins knocking on the door.

He becomes their guide to all things actually supernatural but keeps it on the downlow.

They call him their cousin even though theres no blood he's just got Stans kinda vibe so it works. Anyway.

Just Danny as an older teen trying to keep two 12 year olds from getting themselves killed and trying to balance his respect for Stan who he's been working with for a while know with his suspicion because things aren't right with his boss.

Also I need everyone to think of that short mini series they did for GF where its the twins solving or disproving things from the journal. Specifically the episode where its the look behind which we only see at the end when we discover its following dipper. The really creepy reveal bc it looks right at the camera? That's important bc Danny is stalking his "cousins" in the woods using his ghostly claim to keep the worst spirits away.

Also just think of protective Danny being ready to fight Gideon the MOMENT he hears Mabel is being made uncomfortable.

Tim Drakes sleeping habits save the earth

Part 8 The beginning of the storm

Ellie was asleep on clockworks lap, covered in bandages. There was not much for them to do but hurry up and wait until they were needed. Frostbite was watching the three different groups Clockwork had pulled up on his portable viewing Mirrors. The yetis face was a cross between anger at the GIW and joy that his friend Lazarus had returned. Lazarus had been a good friend they had grown up together with Undergrowth, Vortex, Nocturne,Clockwork, and Morrigan. The 7 of them had rained holy terror on the Realms growing up. To young, to powerful and to board they explored the infinite realms making Friends, enemies and new Discoveries along the way. They Learned and made mistakes but they were all together. Through thick and thin they remained good friends and grew into their powers, gained mantles and responsibility.

Things were Bright and Joyful Lazarus had done the impossible and United the Realms into one kingdom, Clockwork had taken the mantle of time keeper, Nocturne became the Guardian or Dreams, Vortex was the Crazy Trouble maker of the group was learning to control the weather. Undergrowth was working to grow things for the Green, Frostbite had taken over the far Frozen from his father and Morrigan, sweet little Morrigan who could get the six most stubborn people in the universe to behave had become a goddess of Death and had Married Lazarus.

They had kept in touch giving each other advice and helping one another everyone in the realm had been happy to learn Morrigan had become pregnant with twins. Haroldas Fright knight and Lady Pala Gotham had been born with much fanfare and were little Terrors gowning up but the birth had not been and easy one and Inanna had never quite been the same after their birth. She fought so hard but by the time the Twins were in their teens Morrigan had started to fade, and so came to pass the first Phantom Queen of the Infinite Realms. Morrigan Stayed but it was a near thing he was finally starting to heal when Dark Parish had started to rise to power. His obsession was power he had created a ring that amplified his anger and started to take over the kingdom territories at an alarming rate. Finally he attacked Lazarus and would have killed him if Clockwork hadn't intervened.

Clockwork grinned, it was not a nice or happy grin. He showed to many teeth and it stretched in a way that would make anything living want to run. It was a feral your going down with me grin. Frostbite saw it out of the corner of his and and responded in a Matching grin their group of friends were no longer as close together with their tethers (Morrigan and Lazarus) gone but some things don't change. Frostbite looked at his old Friend and his almost Grand Nieces. "I recognize that grins Gears what do you see?"

"My Sister Morrigan is Returning and Danny is my Son I gave him my ectoplasam when he turned into a true Halfa. Ellie is coming into her powers as a Goddess of Life, Travel, and a Guardian or Mirror Born's Danny is the Balance and space. Death is needed and she is not Happy about what has happened to her younger co Gods and Nibling."

Frostbite gave a harsh laugh "They are in for it now maybe she can straiten out Vortex and Undergrowth?"

"Before or after she finds out what they did and kills them?

Both looked back at the screens and watches Lady Gotham Preen like a happy cat at Alfred taking care of her. "Should I be worried?" asked Frostbite.

"No he is a good man and he will treat her well when he becomes a Ghost."

Frostbite blinks in surprise and a little worried "he becomes a Ghost?"

"yes one of the few who will become on no mater how he dies he is going to be a ghost he will have a duel Time and shadow core."

"A TIME CORE! but your the only know time core in the last 20,000 years"

"Yes he will help me watch the time lines with hero's he will be family after all and he will be instrumental in helping Phantom recover."

"How?"

"Alfred is going to be powerful he is already getting echos form his future powers. There is a reason nobody wants to mess with Alfred."

Frostbite decided he didn't want to know and turned his attention to a different Mirror. "Do you think that Pandora and Fright will Finally get together Gears?"

Clockwork gowned and facepalmed "Not without outside interference, I am so close to putting them in a an time loop until they get their act together. For two of our top tacticians they are not very emotion smart and they are Born ghost."

"Its only been a thousand years" Frostbite teased.

"They are more emotionally constipated than Batman without therapy." Clockwork flinched all teasing wiped from his face. "They have started to experiment on Danny I am blocking part of the bond to Ellie."

Frostbite became serious again "I know you can't tell me about what is to come but if I list off some equipment can you tell me if I don't need it?"

"Go for it Little Bite"

"I"m Four times Bigger than you Gears!"

"Yet you still call me Gears!"

Ive been binging dr who all night. The bit abiut the void has been sticking with me, the voidstuff had a weird green tone to it so its time to do what any good phan does and slap Phantom into the mix. Pardon my terrible doctor dialogue.

"Rose, no!" The doctor cries out as Rose Tyler slips from the relay handle and begins getting pulled into the void. Pete Tyler blinks into existence before grabbing Rose and returning to his dimension.

The rift begins sucking into itself like a clogged drain then its gone in a flash of light. The Doctor stands there, shocked and heartbroken, his hand on the wall were rhe void once was. "I'm so sorry."

"Ahem," a make voice clears his throat. The Doctor turns and finds a young man in his early twenties with stark white hair and luminous green eyes. He speaks in an american accent, "Sorry, I didnt mean to interrupt anything. I was just poking around this area and felt a pull to come here. Are you alright sir?"

"Fine, never been finer. I've only just lost someone important to me, I told her id get her and her mother back home safely."

"I can understand that, protecting those you care about... If she's only just passed, you might get lucky and find her again one day."

"I'm sorry but who are you?" The Doctor places the old 3-d glasses on as he get a better look at the stranger. "The better question is what are you? You're basically made of voidstuff."

The man laughs a little bit, "I've never heard it called that before but i suppose so. My names Danny, I was passing through; just checking on all these ghost sightings."

"They're not ghosts," the doctor corrects as he circles Danny.

"Of course not, no psychic imprints or core readings. Plenty of ecto readings, through the roof with those but not actually ghosts. I should know. But as I was saying, I'm sorry your friend passed away."

"She didn't pass away! Shes stuck in a parallel earth where I can't ever see her again."

"Oh... yeah those are kind of tricky," Danny scratches his chin, "But still, you helped me without having to deal with the ecto contamination; never occured to me to reverse the portal and suck anything contaminated into the Zone. As thanks, I can at least help you say goodbye?"

The Doctors eyes flicker across Danny's face as hes dropping all of his recent knowledge, "and how would you do that?"

"I'm assuming you're alien of course which is amazing~. I've always wanted to meet an alien but anyways, if you can find a spot in space on this side then I'll find a weak point in the Zone so you can atleast send a message to them."

"Thank you, i might take you up on that. I'm the Doctor."

"Doctor? Doctor what?"
