I get a lot of ignorant comments & tags on my posts about antisemitism, and I’ve already spent way too much time & energy engaging with them. So to preserve my sanity, I’ve made the decision not to engage too deeply with any commenters who haven’t at least read all of these in their entirety:
“Jewish Space Lasers” by Mike Rothschild
“People Love Dead Jews” by Dara Horn
“Jews Don’t Count” by David Baddiel
"More Than a Century of Antisemitism", GEC Special Report
If you’re not Jewish, please read all of this literature before adding anything to my posts about antisemitism.
Jews, please add any books you think should be on the list!
The fact that Judaism is trending because of both the wave of bomb threats on synagogues and Bradley Cooper's Antisemitism Adventure (his huge fake prosthetic nose, and him basically stealing the story from a Jewish man) is so infuriating and so exhaustingly typical.
The fact that I see Judaism trending on Tumblr and immediately think "oh no. Something Bad is happening to us." We're never trending cause it's fucking good. I never get to be excited, it's just cold dread.
The fact that Antisemitism is getting worse everyday and the only ones who ever talk about it are other Jews. The fact that no one else fucking cares. The only ones who support us are other Jews. Even when gentiles talk about Nazis or white supremacists they don't want to help us. We're just their prop, the canary in the coal mine and the perfect victim.
The fact that everyone's uncomfortable with Jews still being here. Reminding them of things they'd rather forget.
The fact that it'd be easier for them if we were all dead. Then they could tell stories about our people, dressed in offensive caricatures, without us making a fuss.
I cannot stress enough how 'Do something stupid' was originally a Taskmaster NZ task, how during the filming of it one contestant (Urzila Carlson) broke a bone, and how that was not even the reason the task never made it to air - it wasn't shown because another contestant, Guy Montgomery, fulfilled the task by putting his dick in a toaster

"Holocaust novels that have sold millions of copies both in the United States and overseas in recent years are all "uplifting," even when they include the odd dead kid. The Tattooist of Auschwitz, a recent international mega-bestseller touted for its true story," manages to present an Auschwitz that involved a heartwarming romance. Sarah's Key, The Book Thief, The Boy in Striped Pajamas, and many other bestsellers, some of which have even become required reading in schools, all involve non-Jewish rescuers who risk or sacrifice their own lives to save hapless Jews, thus inspiring us all. (For the record, the number of actual "righteous Gentiles" officially recognized by Yad Vashem, Israel's national Holocaust museum and research center, for their efforts in rescuing Jews from the Holocaust is under 30,000 people, out of a European population of at the time of nearly 300 million - or .001 percent. Even if we were to assume that the official recognition is an undercount by a factor of ten thousand, such people remain essentially a rounding error." In addition to their wonderful non-Jewish characters, these books are almost invariably populated by the sort of relatable dead Jews whom readers can really get behind: the mostly non-religious, mostly non-Yiddish-speaking ones whom noble people tried to save, and whose deaths therefore teach us something beautiful about our shared and universal humanity, replete with epiphanies and moments of grace. Statistically speaking, this was not the experience of almost any Jews who endured the Holocaust. But for literature in non-Jewish languages, that grim reality is both inconvenient and irrelevant."

if MC has mind reading abilities for a day, what would they “hear” if they walk into a room with RO in it? preferably in the current high romance stage if possible
Ohhh, cute question!!
R - Lots of general excitement about seeing the Crown and being able to spend time with them, like, "Oh, finally, [MC] is here!!! I wanted to talk to them about this, and this, and I should ask them about this thing, and I wonder how their day went-" with matching visual images, and on and on it goes
A - More so attentiveness and/or concern if they haven't seen the Crown for longer than a few hours. "I wonder if they already ate, should I ask the servants to get us some tea? They look tired, perhaps I should grab some pillows... I should tell the guards to keep the court officials away from this wing of the palace... perhaps they would enjoy a nap..."
D - Literally just arguing in their own head and being way too self-conscious. "Don't stare at [MC], you'll make it obvious. But we're in private... no, that's still too risky if it becomes a habit. Keep your distance." [ends up staring at MC anyway] "Ah, dammit..."
X - They don't really have an inner 'voice' like that, they think in pictures more than in words. So in their thoughts the Crown would see an image of how X perceives them in that moment; for a high romanced X, imagine like a dozen beauty filters stacked on top of the Crown with metaphorical hearts floating everywhere lmao
