i finally got around to watching the owl house and (sighs dramatically) i might have a favourite character

You know, i think young odalia and young darius were quite alike in many ways.

Don't get me wrong, i don't think odalia was ever the sweet girl next door or something. But i do believe she really did care about her friends and probably did have geniun feelings for alador once.

Both young odalia and darius are a bit self centered and display a pretentious attitude. Also a little of holier-than-thou. They are both very determined and know how to get what they want but don't handle it well if things don't go their way.

Odalia cares about her selected few and darius had always more copassions for the people close to him than he let's on. But they have both a mean streak and can often be condescending.

Then they grow up, become more mature. Odalia gets buissiness ideas for her and alador. Darius starts his tutelage under the previous. golden guard. He starts to understand better just how hurtful his comments sometimes are when he feels they are just ofhand remarks. He learns to understand others struggles better and his compassion grows in turn.

Odalia meanwhile understands better how sharp her words cut, too, but she learns to use it as a weapon. She starts to get a better feeling for others struggles, too, but to her they are weaknesses to take advantage of more and more often.

They remain determinated as ever. But darius had grown a desire to do something good that goes beyond him and his immediate circle of loved ones.

Odalia too had an ever growing desire to do something better, but the people included in this grew less and less until it was just her.

Darius grew up to be the best version of himself

Odalia grew up to be the worst version of herself

(And alador lost himself somewhere along the way)
