there are serious parallels between lotr and naruto hear me out. I don’t have the brain cells to properly articulate this, but they’re both about finding hope through the darkness. they’re both about finding strength in love. they’re both about the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how long that tunnel might be. and yes they are both gay, and in that sense, they are both following your beloved into the darkest depths of hell just so you can drag them back out at the end. in lotr, this takes the form of sam following frodo no matter what, even though frodo tries to leave him behind for his own sake. he follows him all the way to mount doom no matter how hard it gets, to save middle earth, yes, but also because he loves him and has to see him through this. sasuke is deeply scarred and traumatized and is sinking into the darkness that threatened to engulf him for years. for frodo, it’s the darkness of the ring, his family’s curse, but it’s still darnkness, and sam pulls frodo out of it. naruto chases after sasuke, determined on saving him even if it costs naruto everything, because sasuke is everything to him, so looking at it that way, if he loses sasuke, he’s already lost everything. sam can’t lose frodo even when frodo doesn’t feel like he can make it. sam is his strength. naruto is sasuke’s strength, his faith in himself when even sasuke cannot believe he could ever be good. naruto can and he will never stop. yeah and they’re both gay as hell

hey, so I was thinking again about how Ben would have been effected if Anakin survived after ROTJ, and thought it'd be really cool if Ben learned Anakin's fighting style, especially Darth Vader's immovable murder-fridge stance.

...but according to the wiki, "The Way of the Krayt Dragon" was controversial because of how it encouraged aggression and domination, which is (fairly) viewed as a dark-side gateway.

so how funny would it be, how hilarious would it be, if Ben gets taught under Anakin to help deal with his bad-vibes disorder (later found to be Snoke's meddling), and Anakin teaches him a bunch of useful things like general discipline, breath control, mind-shielding, etc. etc.

...and also Immovable Beskar Darnk-side Gateway Death Dragon Stance, because after Luke and Ahsoka, Anakin wants to train survivors who could beat him in a fight (because if they can do that, they can survive anything, and the First Order/Knights Of Ren/Snoke would be after Ben...)

So Luke, Ahsoka, Leia, etc. are just like "thank you so much for helping Ben with his- YOU TAUGHT HIM WHAT?!"

A1: When I was young I really liked Vakama. I always felt bad for him and I liked his story arc about gaining confidence. By extension I really hated Onewa because his whole thing was that he was an asshole to Vakama and didn't really have anything else going on as far as I could tell. Until I read Voyage of fear (I owned the collection of chapter books that only went up to Darnkness below and only found the rest online in high school.) To me the turning point was the scene where Onewa saves Whenua from drowning and we see a little more into his motivations being a strongly driven and practical person. But when he needs to be he has a soft spot and the willpower of a mountain behind a heart of gold. So now he's my favorite.

B15: For sets I couldn't tell you which one edges ahead of the others except 2003 was particularly weak to me. For story I would say 2004. Lego was trying to distance itself from the Maori influences it had gotten in trouble for appropriating, the flashback years in my mind is the last time Bionicle felt unique and inspired in a way that wasn't being done. Ignition was great at story telling and drama but the world building was... different. The sci fi felt more "store bought" and familiar. Metru Nui is different because nothing about it feels stolen. It's completely alien in a super interesting way with all the different customs, cultures and technology of this secretly biological 'living city.' The toa dynamic was the strongest out of any team possibly due to the generous supply of chapter books lego budgeted to them.

C5: I don't really trust anyone at lego to write it. The story team themselves have admitted to it not being one of their strengths or interests. And it should have just been left at that. But instead we got really redundant explanations and lore fluff to why toa and matoran can't have it. What particularly rubs me the wrong way is that one of the primary reasons is lack of sexual organs. And then you have the Kiina loves Mata Nui thing which just feels like uninspired damage control. It doesn't add anything and never comes up to my knowledge. That being said I'm a sucker for a good love story and I think it could thrive in the bionicle universe. The best example being Macku and Kotu in Water Pressure by Peri animates.

Update on medication:

Turns out while I feel fine mentally, adderall’s side eefect of making me feel like I’ve darnk 7 cups of coffee is *bad* and I feel bad. I’ll try moving to something else soon but right now, my hands r cold n sweaty and I can feel my blood in the worst way and my belly is real bad :(
