My Train of Thought for the Night
*Watching Owl House* *Watching Hollow Mind**Thinking up Star Wars and Owl House plots*
Belos: Out of all the grimwalkers, you looked the most like him...
Me, randomly: Who'd say this to Anakin? Doesn’t seem like Sidious, more like Plagueis, maybe Tenebrous? He’s cool looking.
Me: Back up a moment, whose Anakin the clone of here?
*Remembers Darth Bane is voiced by Mark Hamill*
*Remembers Bane’s TCW mask resembles Vader’s mask*
*Remembers Plagueis’ Midi-chlorian experiments*
Me: Theoretically, I suppose it’s possible via Magic Microbial Madness to...transmit Bane’s DNA into Shmi Skywalker if Plagueis had a sample. But why tho?
Me: Well...Bane founded the Rule of Two, and Plagueis, if provided with a sample of his DNA, might seek to create a superior version to finish off the Jedi (I’m admittedly feel like I’m reaching here)
*Remembers Bane was known as the Sith’ari, a Chosen One who’d lead the Sith into a new era*
Me: Plagueis wasn’t a superstitious Sith, but he might appreciate the poetry.
Conclusion:
Crack AU: Anakin role reversal, a clone made from the DNA of Shmi Skywalker & Darth Bane. He WAS meant to be the Chosen One, but the Chosen One in question was actually the Sith’ari, like his genetic forebear
Me: Wait, Anakin being RAISED by Plagueis is a given here, but if we’re including Shmi, was Anakin cloned, or was he one of SEVERAL virgin birth experiments? If so, what’s the timeline here? I feel the other Sith’ari would have to be his grown predecessors, thus implying several decades worth of effort.
...
Ooh! Darth Tenebrous launched this plan, (he likes telling the future, maybe tie that into the prophecy?) and managed to either kill or override/merge consciousnesses with Plagueis, allowing the Sith to continue the Sith’ari experiments relatively uninterrupted.

If Darth Plagueis/Hego Damask ll & Darth Tenebrous/Rugess Nome were in Angry Birds Star Wars. “Ironic, he can save other pigs from being sentenced to the slaughterhouse....but not himself.”

Bit of a random post, but…

The name Ben came up with as a child is "Kylo". If I had to guess, his train of thought was:
Skywalker + Solo = Kylo
I genuinely love that The Rise of Kylo Ren hints that it's not some eldritch moniker but just a "cool name" that a kid came up with. Like, this is probably how JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan came up with the name, and years later: boom, it becomes lore that's tailored to the character's personality. Pretty neat.

You know what, no. I refuse to believe that Palpatine is part of a secret unbroken line of Sith stretching back a thousand years who have secretly been biding their time for generations. The Sith are megalomaniac egotistical bastards bent on galactic domination who are so incapable of thinking ahead that they had to be reduced to two people to avoid total self destruction, you’re telling me that those people sat by and waited patiently for centuries so someone else in the future could gain victory over the Jedi? Or that the Jedi somehow missed one of the two people that comprise the Sith? Or that the master apprentice chain didn’t just collapse in on itself when they killed each other in a promotion gone wrong? Yeah, right. Unless there’s a magical Sith meter with “The Republic must be THIS corrupt to destroy the Jedi”, one of them would have tried taking over the galaxy with 50 years of the fake extinction. At best.
What I bet actually happened is either Darth Tenebrous or the Sith directly before him found some Sith artificacts, declared themself a Sith, and lied to their apprentice for legitimacy, and it was just dumb luck that it lasted to Sidious’ time without one of them snapping and blowing their cover early. They’re as much ancient Sith as any of the people who declared themselves heir to the Romans.

Plagueis being sold by his parents to the sith and not good enough for his “adoptive” master who chose instead to train a second apprentice that was probably Darth Tenebrous’ biological son.
Plagueis manipulating Palpatine into murdering his abusive father (and family) only to replace him as an even worse father figure, and sharing the same fate as Cosinga Palpatine at the hands of the boy he raised.
Palpatine’s neglect of a young Maul, being an absent father allowing the child to be raised alone by droids. Intense emotional and physical abuse probably worse than what he ever endured from Plagueis.
Dooku being unable to protect Quigon. A decanonized comic suggests Dooku felt he may have saved Quigon if he hadn’t left the order and totj Dooku feels the council is responsible when he had been working with the sith and is partially to blame.
Maul obsessing over obiwan partially bc his only purpose was to serve the sith and dedicates himself to revenge, and bc he is unable to accept that he wasn’t good enough for his master/fucked up father and that Sidious abandoned him.
Vader would take an essay to explain but he destroyed the sith by saving his son from the sith. The bane line is broken and had Luke joined the darkside the sith cycle of violence would only continue.

the story of darth tenebrous & his chase
Those eyes--
She'd first seen them the day her Master had been killed, the last week she'd been a Padawan. Despite the Jedi Council knowing that the planet of Fjerda was hostile towards Grisha like themselves, they sent their people to aid the Republic-friendly faction against invading Confederates. Jayn saw a Fjerdan, only a few years older than herself, shoot her Master clean through the chest when the woman tried to help the fallen soldier up. Full of sudden rage, Jayn screamed, and a wave of power kicked the soldier yards over. She sobbed, then went to check on her friend, her de facto mother and sister. Just as she looked up to reassess the situation, she noticed the oncoming droids--
And then a dark blur threw itself between her and the droids. It was illuminated by a colored glow, then by the blasts fired. But the blur simply kept moving, until the blaster bolts deflected and destroyed all of the incoming droids. Only when the blur stopped did Jayn see that it was a person, one who gave her a quiet, dark stare before he ran off. Aleksander Morozov, the hero of Fjerda, saved my life.
That was years ago. Since then, Jayn had ascended to the rank of Master, while on the path to becoming a Jedi Shadow. She'd added another blue lightsaber to her repertoire, and she had never taken on a Padawan, aside from volunteering to lead combat training on occasion. She felt lonely sometimes, and she had a few escorts she kept visiting against her better judgment (attachment was forbidden, not sex, after all), but she knew she was fighting for peace. According to the Jedi, that was all she needed to be satisfied. And yet, she was not. The Senate grew more disjointed by the second, Fjerda had joined the Confederacy, and the Confederacy kept upgrading their droids faster than the Republic could learn to counter them with regular soldiers.
The whole time, the Jedi stayed quiet unless directed by the Senate, and it ate at her. She knew that her mother had been killed for being Grisha, because her father had been the one to bring her to the Temple. We aren't doing enough.
The night of the first time she thought that, she dreamed of those dark eyes again. They might be on a glowing advertisement, or on the face of a Wookie, or even in the sky like stars, but they kept appearing, just before she awakened.
Ravka. A group of children had been taken hostage by a gang that had had increased conflicts with the local police. Negotiations were going poorly, so Jayn would go and deal with things herself.
She was just entering the planet's atmosphere, sitting calmly in her starfighter when she felt something strange in the Force.

Separate poll: Your favourite "obscure" Sith?
"Obscure" meaning not put to screen in the prequels, Clone Wars or even mentioned in the "main" media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sidenote: I am thinking of making a Sith-themed abstract painting and I am heavily leaning towards Nihilus due to his backstory)
(I'm also getting the Sith codex as a book lmao)

The hot takes about the Jedi Order being evil and unethical actually are awful but I love how those takes aren't even supported by any of the actual official Star Wars material, like Luceno in Darth Plagueis:
The rend that Tenebrous's Twi'lek Master had opened in the fabric of the Force had been felt by the Jedi, and already the Order was beginning to show signs of circumspection and languor. The Republic, too, had been similarly undermined, by encouraging corruption in the Senate and lawlessness in the Outer Rim systems, which had been the dumping ground for the Core. (p. 96)
The Jedi aren't evil, they didn't intentionally become complicit in the corruption and actual evils of the Republic... They just failed. Outward forces beyond their detection manipulated the Galaxy and created a status quo where it became impossible to do the utmost. By making the Jedi feel the fear of the Dark Side once more, by turning the entity they serve a corrupt and lawless one, the Sith made the Jedi too wary, too afraid to take risks on what they knew to be right, too bogged down by the steel of Coruscant to succeed in the purpose the Jedi exist for.
They aren't evil, they just failed, were defeated.
