So I actually have created a small and simple timeline for my Arslan AU. ( I am actually writing a new chapter for the story and yes I am really, really slow). The Timeline is not fully complete, for example the year where Narsus became Lord of Daylam missed and I am not really sure with every canon data. So they will mixed up a bit with my AU and the canon data. A big thanks @tired-reader-writerfor the help to collect some year numbers and canon events.
In the timeline are some events from my AU that are a bit of a spoiler and I hope I can dissolve them with the new chapter I actually write. Hopefully I can posted it in a few days xD.

I the Jester X Knight post was good and then I saw the tag asdffgjjj. You know every time Gieve calls Daryun a beast the ship gains a sail
NGL they've been one of my crack/rareships from the first time i saw them together. the wannabe-cassanova bard and the stoic take-no-shits knight? i love them

Random sleepy question (hello I was napping and woke up to your post, what an evening): how well do you think the ArSen cast can sing? I've been thinking about one of my ArSen OCs and then my thoughts drifted to the canon cast. Would they like singing? Are they good at it? I've tried searching up stuff sung by the VAs (Katsuyuki Konishi was actually the first I looked, LOL) but all of the songs were... not very much to my taste. Why do VA songs tend to be very loud and shouty and stuff? Where are the quieter, softer songs? Am I just very bad at looking??? 🤣
Either way, please answer this only when you feel like it— and have a nice day!
Oh, I’ve got something good for you! There are actually a few Arslan Senki character songs, sung by the voice actors in-character! These were able to be unlocked in the Arslan Senki x Musou game, and were later released on a CD included with the sixth S1 Blu-ray/DVD release in Japan. You can listen to them here! The tracklist is as follows:
1.   Kazeshirube (風導 -kazeshirube- lit. Guided by Winds) by Arslan (CV: Yūsuke Kobayashi) 2.   Tatakai, Sore wa Kishi no Shinjitsu (戦い、それは騎士の真実 lit. Fighting, This is the Knight's Truth) by Daryun (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya) 3.   Bigaku no Shōzō (美学の肖像 lit. A Portrait of Aesthetics) by Narsus (CV: Daisuke Namikawa) 4.   Namonaki Hoshi (名もなき星 lit. A Nameless Star) by Elam (CV: Natsuki Hanae) 5.   Koto no Hane Oto no Sora (言の羽 音の空 lit. Feathers of Words, The Sky of Sounds) by Gieve (CV: KENN)
...I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t looked for songs by Katsuyuki Konishi before. It’s been a while since I last listened to them but I remember quite liking Koran, if only because I amused myself by imagining salaryman Shapur from Corporate Warrior Arslan being persuaded to join the other Pars Corporation employees for karaoke and singing it (and of course he’d have to be drunk to do it, so drunk in fact that Kubard’s going to have to help him get home despite his protests that he’s fine). In terms of softer songs, you might like 祈念 (Kinen).
As far as canon characters go, I know of one canonically good singer (Manuchurh, he apparently had a very beautiful voice) and several bad ones (Kubard, Innocentis, Don Ricardo). There might be some others mentioned, those are just the ones I can remember. Singing is also part of Turanian culture! Burhan sings at one point and so does Jimsa. For the others, it’s not something I’ve really thought about before so I don’t have any headcanons about specific characters yet ...actually wait, I lied, I do headcanon that Gurgin has a pleasant singing voice, not that he tends to use it recreationally, or at all when he’s with Team Zahhak
I remember Farangis singing to lay the dead to rest in the anime (S1 E25). In the novel, it just says that she prays for the fallen. Perhaps melodic chanting / singing is incorporated into the work of priests and priestesses, too? I’m not sure about whether it’s directly mentioned somewhere else in the novels, but I like the idea.
Not directly related to what you’re asking, but it amuses me and I think you’ll enjoy it, too — some of Isfan’s heroic deeds later become the subject of a ballad (something like “Isfan and His Two Wolves, Protectors of the People”). I’m not sure at what stage it went from a story being recounted multiple times to being immortalised as a folk song, but on the offchance Gieve ever found out about it, I am 100% certain he sang it in Isfan’s hearing just to piss him off.

don’t you also ship daryun x narsus? If they were together (in your hc) when daryun went to serica then why did daryun fall in love with another person? i have only dated 1 person (i’m in hs) but id be really upset if he fell in love with someone else and i think he would be upset if I fell in love with someone else
I both ship them and don't ship them. I think the story reads well both ways, and sometimes I'm in the mood for a wholesome friendship and sometimes I'm in the mood for a little angst :)
One of the reasons I like this situation as much as I do is because adult life is full of difficult choices in between career, family, friends, and love. I am around Daryun’s age, and I have made those challenging (and profoundly heart wrenching) choices myself.
Daryun chose duty, career, country, and (given who his uncle is) family instead of staying in Serica. He canonically says that he doesn't regret this choice (link contains novel spoilers) because it means he could support Arslan (though Arslan can tell he does have some regrets). And this choice allows the Narsus/Daryun ship to sail.
Shinryan/Daryun are canon (with minimal content) whereas Narsus/Daryun are not, so it takes a little finagling (AKA, headcanons) to make either work, and there’s room for both because headcanons are full of potential.
Maybe Narsus was upset. Or maybe Narsus understood and had his own relationship(s) in Daryun's absence. Maybe Daryun and Narsus never talked about "what" they were, so there’s nothing for them to angst over. Maybe if he had stayed in Serica, Daryun would continue to just see Narsus as a friend.
As far as my headcanons go:
It certainly was a difficult parting, though Shinryan understood the call of duty — she couldn’t follow him to Pars for the same reason.
Daryun was excited to tell Narsus about her, and seek his insight in how he could make a more permanent transition to Serica. He couldn’t, arriving home to find his close friend had been exiled. As he advanced in his career, Daryun’s rank and responsibilities meant he had to stay close to Pars.
He keeps an ear out for news from Serica, especially information about a brave warrior princess. Thus far there has been no announcement of an engagement, but he has steeled himself for the fact it may come — it is one of the best ways to make an alliance, after all. He wouldn’t harbor any ill will toward her.
He still holds a torch for Shinryan, but reuniting with Narsus ignites another. This is difficult and frustrating for Daryun, a man who prides himself on loyalty. Narsus seems to understand, and he knows Shinryan would too. If they could meet in person, they wouldn’t engage in petty games like two noble girls fighting over the same eligible lord. He loves them all the more for it. Sometimes he hopes that Narsus will find someone or Shinryan will marry, so he doesn’t have to make a choice.
Though he is confident returning to Pars was the right choice, he dreams of a more peaceful timeline, one in which the stars aligned so he could stay in Serica with Shinryan. That dream is a big one — it’s as much about her as it is about sparing Pars from the Lusitanians’ destruction, and Arslan and Elam and Alfarid from bloody battles. He wishes he could ask Uncle Vaphriz for advice.
But he can’t pursue either until Shah Arslan is crowned and Pars is in repair, so he holds them both in his heart. And he waits.

Arslan x Estelle Novel Summary (Book 15)
Elam once again mentions the matter of marriage to Arslan:
" 'This may be redundant, but most of your subjects wish for Your Majesty to marry soon, so please reconsider.'
'They all say that? What would Gieve say?'
'Your Majesty can't take him seriously!'
As soon as Elam finishes, Arslan can't help but laugh.
'I'm sorry to let you concern over this. But the matter of marriage must wait longer! Maybe I can reconsider in another ten years. The crucial matter now is peace in the kingdom. If I marry now, it might even cause trouble for the prospect.'
At that moment, the figure which appears in Arslan's mind is that of the female Lusitanian knight."
From there, Arslan changes the subject to Elam's prospective marriage, which Elam vehemently rejects. Later, Arslan brings up to Elam the possibility of Elam x Aisha, a maid in the royal court.
In a later part of Book 15, Arslan can be seen visiting Estelle's grave by himself:
"In within the low-rising stone walls, submerged by blossoming autumn flowers, stood the small tombstone, surrounded by cosmos, wild roses, platycodon, dianthus, and other flowers found nowhere else in the royal palace, such as imported chrysanthemum. Bending over against the stone wall, Arslan can be seen lost in his thoughts. He hears a cautious approach from behind and turns.
'It's you, Kasim.'
'Ah, forgive my intrusion, Your Majesty'
'It's okay, I'm just here to daze.'
Arslan leans against the stone wall and says.
'You've taken good care of Estelle's grave, thank you.'
'No no no, as your subject, I'm only doing what I've ought to do. Ah, I'm just here to have a look, I'll be going now.'
The servant known as the nephew of the Prime Minister Lushan lowers his head practically to his knees.
'Don't worry. As I've said, I'm just here to daze.'
Arslan grasps at a few strands of golden hair drifting through the autumn breeze."
Elam soon arrives, as does the maid Aisha, who stumbles in with a bouquet of flowers to lay before Estelle's tombstone. Elam catches her from falling, rebukes her for being so clumsy, and for having such a lack of common sense as to place a bouquet in a garden already full of flowers. Arslan's response:
" 'The more flowers the better, this will ensure that Estelle's spirit of valor and chivalry can be perserved for eternity.'
Upon hearing those words, the three subjects stand in awe."
(In a nutshell: As Narsus and Daryun already suspect, whenever Arslan is asked about finding a marriage partner, the image of Estelle lingers in his mind. Even without the mentioning of marriage, Arslan frequently thinks of Estelle. The touching scene with Arslan alone at her gravesite affirms how deeply he treasures Estelle in his heart.)

Do you have headcanons for modern AU Daryun and Narsus? x
I do have headcanons for a modern day AU. The exact setting is not something I came up with by myself, but the basic premise is Daryun is a sport team coach and Narsus is a former art teacher from the same school. The Sports Club (consisting of the younger characters) is in trouble and struggling financially. This is how I imagine their lives. The links are all to songs on YouTube.
Daryun:
His black motorbike is called a Shabrang. He and Kishward go out biking occasionally, Kishward owns a Tahir.
He has weights at his apartment but can do some jumping excercises, too, because he doesn't live over anyone. Has a poster of famous player Rostam in his room.
He makes small shopping trips because he doesn't own a car.
He stops by Narsus' house more often than the other way round to cook there because Narsus has a separate kitchen, that doesn’t make the whole place smell of food.
When he used to play in a team himself he had the number 12. His current coach jersey is a custom black one.
Narsus:
Has at least a speck of paint on every item of clothing he owns. He put some on his motorbike helmet he got from Daryun on purpose, though.
He likes to sing cheesy songs on the radio like 80's Love Ballads while he and Daryun cook together (they have basic household skills in this, Elam needs to go to school and have a teen life!)
Has in-depth knowledge of the sport but it's rarely ever on TV, so he snacks on the sofa watching online videos of it.
He makes sure his Ex, Shaghad, knows he made a mistake.
Narsus still orders wine when they take the team out for dinner after a game, safe in the knowledge that usually Daryun will drive him home later
Other:
Narsus sponsors Elam.
When they rent a bus to go to competitions Kubard is the driver.
Gieve is a Music teacher, Farangis a Religious Education teacher
Etoile later joins the Pars Team
Rumours about a ghost go around school. But Biology Teacher Isfan's brother is just fine, he just left to work at a different institution.
Guiscard is actually kind of boring and is happy to be a coach for Lusitania, it could be worse, he could be running a country during a war in another life.
~Short Story Pitch~
When playing against Shindhura, the Pars Team are losing and Daryun is coaching from the sidelines. Behind him, Narsus notices something isn't right and the children could get hurt. He texts Gieve and Farangis a reference to a TV series and they catch on that they should mess with the playing field in some way to get the match called off (There's no way Narsus will incriminate himself with something so basic like TEXTS). Investor Rajendra offers to sponsor the Pars Team because he can see the potential in some players, but it's also power play. He tosses a jersey at Daryun with a massive embroidered Tiger on it. Rajendra suggests they think about it, gets into his car, and drives away laughing. Daryun: *"Tch" face* He thinks the shirt is so hideous he gives it to a charity shop the next day and thinks he can move on with his life. The club needs the money, but not for this.
A few weeks later the rematch takes place. The Pars team are nervous, but they have a new strategy. Just before the match, Narsus shoves something into Daryun’s arms. Daryun: "This i- How? Why did you spend money on this." Narsus: "A fiver, we'll live. It was professionally cleaned, at least, and..." Narsus points to a little wiring on the shirt. "Elam's tech classes are coming along fine." Daryun: "What are you planning?"
Tumblr media
Narsus: "Wear the shirt, Daryun. And just be yourself. Occasionally you'll get instructions via the wire" he says, then indicating a little further away to Jaswant from the Shindhuran staff and Farangis. Basically Narsus got some dirt on Rajendra and while the game is going on Gieve, Farangis, and Jaswant uncover it. Daryun needed to wear the shirt so their act was convincing when sweet-talking Rajendra.
Through anime protagonist powers the Pars Team win despite the odds. There's a big meal at the end ("The shirt stays on, Daryun" Narsus clearly enjoys how hideous it is). Narsus celebrates with a drink and Daryun also has some, so they arrange a taxi for later. The kids are driven home in the bus.
(The rest is this Pet Shop Boys song from Narsus’ pov OK just because)
....look I don't know how good the plan was, but I had a VISION of the boomerang hideous tiger shirt Daryun just cannot get rid of.

“Why should I not? What are you hiding, Narsus?”
Daryun asked, a grin stretching his lips to the sides. He knew Narsus well, but he always happened to be proud of his art and want everyone to see it, not the opposite.
Tumblr media
“NOTHING you should be concerned of, Daryun. were you not the first to run quickly had it been to ‘scandalize’ my art? to have you promoting interest in my works may subsists a queer alteration of your nature.”
