Imagine being Bob and Helen from the Incredibles. You have a daughter and you decided to name her violet. No reason, you just think it’s a nice name. Then suddenly you find out that she can turn invisible. You laugh at the coincidence of her name being similar to ultra violet, but you don’t think much of it.

You then have a boy, and you both came up with the name Dashiell, but you call him Dash for short. Again, no reason for this either. You just find the name nice. This kid then develops super speed. This one kept you both up at night. That’s 2 kids with names corresponding to their super powers; surely this can’t happen again, right?

Then you pop out a 3rd kid, and you decided to name him Jack-Jack. A very simple yet silly name that can’t really mean anything at all. There’s no way his powers can correspond to his name, right? Correct, cause he didn’t develop any powers at all, so that means it was all some sort of coincidence, and you naming your kids didn’t have anything to do with their powers.

Then a fucking carrot top lookin’ punk ass bitch decided to kidnap Jack-Jack, and this causes your baby to use his powers. And what are his powers? A bunch of random shit that ranges from turning his skin to metal, to teleporting around places. Basically a Jack of all Trades…..

Got a question for y’all. What is one media that you watched as a kid that was marketed for kids, but didn’t realize until years later that it was more for/would be appreciated more by adults? It can’t just be from your childhood, it has to be marketed towards kids, so it can’t be something like “Hellsing” or “The Mummy”.

My answer: The Incredibles

* Calls out insurance companies for screwing over people

* Main villain gets chopped up by an engine

* Bob and Helen’s conflict is written like a cheating plot, with Mirage as the “mistress”

* Bob’s main arc is basically a mid-life crisis

* That one uncomfortable scene where Bob and Helen are arguing about Bob’s mid-life crisis and that he’s neglecting his son, which ends up scaring the kids

* The level of violence. We got an attempted suicide, dozens of supers are violently killed off-screen, the villain gets chopped into pieces, gunfire, kids getting attacked, and so on

mr incredible as a character is so interesting because unlike other main “good guys” his main drive is that he loves being a super hero. he’s fired from multiple jobs, uprooting his family every time, because of he can’t not be that guy. he listens to police scanners and coaches people through abusing the insurance company because he’s so desperate to get even a slice of that feeling. of course he likes helping people, sure, but he’s so desperate to be heroic he lets himself get reduced down to being muscle for hire to a crazy shady company just so that he can be mr incredible again. Like, how did we get here? what is his origin story? what made him like this? who taught him that his worth is synonymous with his heroism? with what his body can do? how did we get here.

after that first successful race, dash still had a bit of trouble regulating himself when it came to his races. he knows he's good and that even without powers he's pretty sure he'd leave his opponents in the dust, so constantly holding himself back is a challenge.

through elementary and middle school its a breeze, but when he reaches halfway through middle school some of his teammates are damn good, and being faster than them might bring a bit much attention.

nevertheless, he decides to stick to track and goes to try out for the track team, which is going on as some of the other more outdoor sports practices.

that's the first time he sees you, trying out for the girls track team running beside him and keeping up your pace with him ?????

as soon as practice is over you know he's coming up to you immediately and introducing himself because he HAS to know the name of the non-supe who was able to easily keep up with him.

he didnt expect you to be as snarky as he is though, so while he doesn't take it to heart it does start a littl rivalry between you two.

(although violet is always teasing him that he was a crush on you ???? because he's constantly bringing up annoying things you did during practice at dinner but she's just crazy.)

it's also constant teasing in the hallways, throwing disses to the other like "you should see a doctor, parr. you looked pretty green when i left you in the dust yesterday."

he had to admit, it was both infuriating and entertaining.

eventually may comes, the end of the track season and time for the biggest races of the year. the girls' team was a day before the boys, and dash took his mom's advice to be a bigger person and go see you race.

you were nothing short of amazing, and he never though he'd be so glad someone other than himself got first place.

his mom insists you come to their house for dinner to celebrate, much to his protest, and you happily agree while giving him that look that says "im going to make things so much harder for you."

and if you ignored his parents never ending questions, his sisters constant teasing and jack jack almost revealing his powers, it was a nice dinner!

the next day is dash's race, and for the first time in years he's really nervous. the guys competing against him have gotten more skilled over the course of the year, and there's over a hundred people in the stands.

but then, in the middle of the countdown, he sees you sitting with his family, wearing the biggest smile he's ever seen and giving him a thumbs up while saying "you got this."

its safe to say he won that race.

What If Miles Morales Meets the Incredibles

(I do not own The Incredibles or any characters from the Spiderverse, just this idea)

Ok so from what we have seen in "Across the Spiderverse" Miles Morales is not only the only Spider-man of his dimension, but also the only Superhero it would seem. So that got me thinking what if he was (forcibly) sent to a dimension where superheroes are more of the norm? Like similar to what happened to the Gwen Stacey in the first movie. Miles ends up trapped in another universe and for some reason doesn't glitch. (This can happen either before "Across the Spiderverse" or after "Beyond the Spiderverse") Then Miles, while trying to find a way home, ends up meeting not only more superheroes but an entire family of superheroes. I am of course referring to The Incredibles. How would Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet and Jack-Jack react to meeting a Super from another dimension? How will Miles try to fit in a world where other people have super-powers? and how will Edna Mode think about Miles Spider-man costume? These questions are for you the storywriter to decide.
