Tonight I am hunting down venomous and nonvenomous snake pictures that are under the creative commons of specific breeds in order to create one of the most advanced, in depth datasets of different venomous and nonvenomous snakes as well as a test set that will include snakes from both sides of all species. I love snakes a lot and really, all reptiles. It is definitely tedious work, as I have to make sure each picture is cleared before I can use it (ethically), but I am making a lot of progress! I have species such as the King Cobra, Inland Taipan, and Eyelash Pit Viper among just a few! Wikimedia Commons has been a huge help!

I'm super excited.

Then they start to doubt their own intelligence and all the false assumptions it’s based on, and the system starts to crumble. You use any means necessary, because that is your constitutional right, just as they use any means necessary to hold onto the power they stole from you. They stole your birthright, and it’s your legal duty as an American citizen to seek a redress of your grievances, using whatever it takes. Under no pretext.

So, using AI art, I asked NightCafe to make Hordak from He-Man/She-Ra in the style of Yoshitaka Amano & Tetsuya Nomura.

You will note that, while this design looks very cool, it also does not look much like Hordak.

Which, I did not get, until friend of the blog @therobotmonster showed me the dataset, and it turns out a lot of not-Hordak things were very much correlated by the AI with Hordak.

Which, I think shows some interesting things about the nature of AI Art and datasets, really.

I really appreciate the future and goals you strive to achieve for, but i would really warn against using ai art, especially if you're attempting to make peace with the artistic community. ai art generators as they stand today only exist due to unethically unconsensually sourced artworks and photos made by human artists who are not compensated at all. some data sets even include private medical photos that were never meant to be released publically. i admire your desire to see a future of ethical ai, but supporting these unethical programs in an attempt to "reform" them is not the way to go.

As an dual art major, who is struggling to find employment in the design field, I can recognize a lot of the problems with AI generated art.

AI generated art is not problematic because it can replicate other artists works, artist do this all the time. Master studies, tracing, being commissioned to replicate another’s art at a cheaper price? It’s part of the trade. AI art is problematic in that the programmers don’t ask artist if they can include their art in their dataset.

AI and its programmers cannot hold the copyright to the images they produce, so if you can prove the AI used your image as input for its generation and is profiting off your design you have the ability to sue for the earned income and even lost income if it’s in direct competition to your art.

In the end, I think AI art is just another tool artist are going to have to adapt to, learn to utilize, and rigorously monitor, just as much as human bad actors.

Edit: I think adding the sources in the SCP added the minimum level of nuance I would add in a longer post. I’m willing to answer more questions or make a longer format post about specifics.

Data Science is the field of finding out solutions to a particular problem by analyzing the data that are fact-based and real-time in nature. For instance, suppose a company is facing problem with its sales or marketing or profit margin is shrinking etc. In such a scenario, the company will reach out to a data scientist who will execute a particular process. The process could be in the form of :

Identification the data analytical problem ie whether the fluctuation is due to pricing not set right, or specific marketing fluctuation which is constant for all other products or is it specific to this organization alone. So all these are analyzed and the data scientist will find out the actual underlined problem.

Gather all the information related to the problem in hand.

Dataset could be in a structured or unstructured form. Structured form could mean a file in a tabular form such as excel, mysql, sql server etc. Unstructured form could mean images, videos, audio, social media site etc.

Data collected from various sources must be cleaned and validated to ensure accuracy, completeness and uniformity.

Try to find out what model that fits the best for the given problem. The dataset is aligned to a particular model and algorithm is applied to this data, and the data is analyzed and different trends and patterns are extracted out of it.

Once patterns and trends are found out, the interpretation of data to discover solutions and opportunities is done for our company and find different solutions.

Communicate these findings to stakeholders using visualization for better understanding.
