no caller ID pops on your screen, pulling your attention away from your previous task at hand: not fucking up your eyeliner. you typically wouldn’t care if it was a little uneven, but you’re going on a date tonight, for the first time in so long, and you want everything to go as smoothly as possible.

which is why you groan when you end the call, and that same no caller ID pops right back up seconds later. you know who it is—who else would it be? you figured he’s already seen your story of being excited for going on your first date in a while, on the only app you hadn’t blocked him on. petty? perhaps, but it’s on him to be keeping up with you despite you cursing him out for wasting your time and then blocking him right after.

you watch it ring though, contemplating for a while longer than you should. you blocked him for a reason. no need to entertain his same shit that he always spews to you when he realizes that he might be losing you once more?

….but it doesn’t hurt to hear the hero beg for you.

“What do you want, Bakugou?” You sigh irritably as you finally answer his call, putting him on speaker as you go back to even out your eyeliner. You hear him huff on the other side of the phone at the use of his surname, but he doesn’t say anything about it, instead, quickly telling you what he’s been bothering you for.

“Who’s the fuckin’ loser that’s gonna drool over how good your tits look in that stupid green dress you love so much?” Bakugou grunts, and you instantly feel your face heating at his crude words. You glance over with a frown at that same green dress that makes your tits look good, where it hangs on your closet.

“None of your damn business, Bakugou.” You snap at him, wondering if it’s too late to find something else to wear. “Not like you ever took me out in my stupid green dress.” Your voice holds a level of bitterness that only he can bring out of you, and you hear his sigh through the speakers.

“I told you this before, I’m always—”

“Busy.” You cut him off, voice suddenly thick as you think back on the countless rejections he’s splattered at your feet every time you tried to further your relationship with him. “You reminded me of how busy you’ve been since you first started this whole situationship.”

“Situation—? Huh? We were dating!” Bakugou protests with a huff, and you can hear how he paces the floor quickly. You glare at your phone, setting down your liner to instead pick of your (his) favorite lipgloss.

“You’d have to ask me out to be dating, Bakugou. You’d have to court me to be dating, Bakugou. You’d have to make time for me and take me out on dates and not hide me to fucking date me, Bakugou.” You spit at him, venom dripping off of your lips in waves. You don’t know why you answered, why you even entertained him. You shake your head with a huff when the line goes quiet, eyebrows quirking up when your date sends you a text to make sure you’re still on for tonight.

“I’m sorry.” Bakugou mutters pathetically, his voice suddenly soft. You hesitate, for some reason, when it comes to texting your date back. Why do you always hesitate when Bakugou is around?

“Let me make it up to you, court you, and shit. I can take you to one of my favorite places, you can wear that pretty green dress and that gloss you know I love.” His voice is pleading, thickening and sweet and suffocating. You shouldn’t respond, should reply back a yes to your date.

“Please? You know how much you mean to me.” Bakugou mumbles, and you can hear the earnestness in his voice. Why haven’t you said yes to your date yet?

“I’ll do better this time. Just one more chance, sweetheart.” Bakugou’s voice is so soft, you’ve never heard him this vulnerable before. You sigh with a shake of your head, slumping back into your seat in defeat.

Sorry, I can’t make it tonight. Something came up. Maybe we can reschedule for another time?

🌲 the beast • mykolas

· mykolas isn't any specific creature. he's kind of just his own thing with no real origin. he’s incredibly tall (over 8 feet with the antlers), bipedal digitigrade, glowing white eyes and a skull-like face, he definitely doesn't look like anything naturally occuring in nature either. some believe he's the offspring of a devil worshipper who was abandoned in the woods, others think he's some sort of werebeast who can't transform back into a human. mykolas himself has no clue either, and mostly responds with non-answers if you ask him about it.

· behavior wise? he honestly acts like a mix of domestic animals. he purrs like a cat, whines like a dog, throws little stompy tantrums like a bunny, all while being built like a tank lmfao. additionally, he’s VERY territorial after meeting you and will pick a fight with anything and anyone that invades the space he deems your home.

· before you, he wasn't really.. living. he just kind of existed, moving through each day without a sense of purpose. your existence grounds him and makes him feel alive, and that's why hes so obsessed with being by your side. he loves nothing more than cuddling you for hours on end, and being away from you gives him anxiety

· he DOES speak, but his english is pretty busted and his voice is rough from hardly being used. pronouns, adverbs, and adjectives are rare to hear from him and his grasp on grammar isn't the best. he doesn't mind if you teach him but he does get self conscious about it if you bring it up to him.

· he’s carnivorous, but he mostly eats fish because he doesn’t like the mess that hunting makes. trespassers are an exception to this.

· outside of the above, none of the tales that the people he lives near spun about him are true. he’s not a bloodthirsty beast, nor is he evil. he’s just lonely, and he’s not capable of fixing that on his own

Am I the only one who low-key loved that they showed:

1. Lucy’s anxiety induced blabber and Tim’s 😳 in the background - because I feel like while ppl were being like “oh that rant was so annoying and over the top” but in reality that rant is literally so accurate as a stream of thought of anxiety and overthinking , not only that I think the fact that this rant was included is so telling of their relationship because as someone with anxiety I can confirm that those types of thoughts STAY inside thoughts unless we are super comfortable with the person because WE ARE AWARE HOW UNHINGED AND IRRATIONAL WE SOUND

2. The chenford fight- when you have two mentally ill people in a relationship spoiler alert they will sometimes say shit they don’t mean and will sometimes screw up AND THATS OKAY AND REALISTIC like any mentally ill person will tell you that when they are spiralling, almost always they will unintentionally take it out on the person closest to them or who is supporting them the most and that’s not because they actually want to it’s more so that their brain subconsciously knows that that’s a safe target that they can be a bit of a screw up with them and they won’t stop loving them, this is literally the most common example of displacement (trust me I’m a psych student🤓,jk jk fr tho this is an actual thing)

Like when I heard initially that chenford would have issues this season I was so worried the writers would pull that old cliche of making stupid out of character drama that made no sense and felt inorganic but THIS this is so good to see how anxiety can affect a relationship and eventually how they get over that obstacle and it came out in a way that felt very realistic and in character

Lucifer: 

•At first he assumed you were simply shaken up by suddenly being forced to adapt to life in a new realm.

•He knew humans were slow to adapt to new environments.

•The second one to notice there’s something… off about you.

•The way you froze up whenever anyone tried to talk to you.

•How you would always find a reason to quickly excuse yourself from any situation that required social interaction.

•He would go out of his way to help you with your schoolwork so you didn’t have to ask the instructors for help.

•He’s surprisingly soft with you, it’s probably because he thinks you’re extremely fragile. 

Mammon:

•He thought you were too enamored by his greatness to hold a proper conversation.

•The last to notice something is wrong with you. (Satan eventually points it out to him.)

•Mammon tries realllllyyy hard to look into this anxiety thing…

•Meaning he read half of an article and considered himself an expert on the matter.

•Will drag you to all kinds of parties to try and see if exposure can help ease your fear.

•He does all of the talking for you!

•He speaks up for you, advocating for you when you can’t find the courage to do so yourself.

•You’re his human, so it’s the least he can do…

•It’s not like he finds your shyness adorable!

•H-he doesn’t like you, not one bit!

Leviathan: 

•Knows almost immediately.

•He takes you under his wing.

•You share your little victories with each other.

•He thinks you’re just like one of his favorite anime characters.

•He feels like he can be brave when he’s near you, so expect him to hold your hand tightly when he’s advocating for you!

•You both support the other.

•He listens intently about all of your interests, they’ll soon become his own.

•He truly respects and admires you.

•Expect to become an anime fan of you aren’t already one…

•He understands your struggles, and willingly allows you to come to his sanctuary and unwind with Henry even if he’s not home. He trusts you that much.

Satan:

•Oh, he’s going to enjoy this.

•”What’s wrong, MC, cat got your tongue?”

•He eventually realizes your problem is a bit more severe than he was expecting.

•…You weren’t just shy, you must have a serious case of social anxiety.

•He will be a shoulder to lean on, but be warned, he will push you out of your comfort zone much more often compared to Lucifer.

•He celebrates the small victories.

•He finds you adorable, perhaps even comparing you to a cat.

•He does his best to control his temper around you.

•He would never forgive himself if he scared you away…

•Tell him if someone is bullying you. He can make sure this person doesn’t bother you again.

•Like Lucifer, he will help you with your studies.

•He leaves little notes of encouragement in your room, they always make you smile after a particularly rough day.

•He is the second to last to realize something is wrong.

•First he thinks you’re intimidated by his beauty. (How could anybody not be~?)

•Next he assumes you’re barely talking to him just to be annoying.

•When realization hits, he feels absolutely ashamed of himself.

•He makes up for being so ignorant by doting over you.

•He… eventually realizes you don’t exactly like all of the extra attention…

•Like Mammon, he drags you to different clubs and parties to try and help expose you to social interaction.

•He introduces you to some friends of his that also struggle with anxiety. (Leviathan is one of them.)

•He’s the king of hyping you up, he compliments you constantly.

•”You ARE enough! Everyone will love you, and if they don’t… well, you have the most stunning demon in the Devildom by your side~!”

Beelzebub:

•He isn’t quick to catch on, only because he doesn’t really worry about what you act like. 

•He doesn’t let the fact you have social anxiety change his opinion about you.

•He’s not big on talking either, so you both find it easy to hang out together.

•He knows when you’re having a rough day. Expect a surprise hug if you’re having a rough day.

•He’ll take you out to eat if you’ve been making progress working on your anxiety, when you ask him why he sometimes takes you out to eat he smiles softly and shrugs.

•He never admits to knowing about your social anxiety, and he never brings up your social skills. 

•He’ll give you tickets to his sports match, knowing it’s a good chance for you to practice socializing.

•He’s always down for holding your hand or cuddling you if you ask.

•He doesn’t expect anything in return for subtly helping you, he just wants to see you happy.

•He will stand behind you like a bodyguard when he notices anyone picking on you. 

Belphegor (No attic in this case for convenience purposes):

•He teases you, borderline bullying you for being shy.

•When he realizes you actually have major social anxiety he doesn’t treat you any better, if anything the harassment becomes more frequent.

•You’re too scared to tell anybody about what Belphegor is doing to you. 

•One day a lower demon is bullying you for being unable to hold a proper conversation with him.

•He makes sure the lower demon knows that you’re his human, it’s his job to make your life hell. If anybody dares try to bully you they will face the consequences.

•Belphegor eventually decides to just walk you to school, escort you between classes, sit next to you at lunch, walk you back home, and even join all of the clubs you’re in- it’s easiest to make sure nobody is bothering you if he becomes your living shadow.

•Sometimes you swear you can see him smiling at you…

•He likes to nap beside you.

•He could never like a human.

•He’s just keeping you to himself so he has more time to harass you, right…?

I accidentally deleted someone’s anon ask. The question posed was what sort of partner Mello would be and I wrote out a thing and I didn’t like what I wrote so I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to delete the post not knowing that also deletes the ask itself. My deleting the ask does not make me incapable of filling the ask but I felt bad about it so this is my apology.

Mello has a fun thing going on. He is both incredibly insecure but very willing to show exactly who he is to his partner. A lot of your relationship in the early stages, then, is going to be him trying to figure out who and what exactly you are while trying to show you— in his own way— who he is. The idea of you accepting him as an individual is incredibly important to him, so he’s going to ask a lot of questions to reaffirm what his relationship with you is, to confirm that you are both on the same page. For him, a relationship takes as much priority as a job, so he will be very committed to you and will— unlike some of the other characters I’ve written for— set aside time specifically to spend with you, even if that means that his time with you and his time at work overlap. After all, the fact that you’re with him at all is lucky; if you want him, then he wants to give himself to you lest you feel deprived and have to look elsewhere for your fix.

In regards to how he acts once you two are in a rhythm with one another— that is, once the two of you have gotten somewhat comfortable in your relationship— he makes a pointed effort to make sure that you know that he really does care for you, be that by verbally singing your praises (or, more accurately, mumbling them into your skin) or by giving you gifts or taking you out to places you show interest in.

The downside to all the passion he has and how much he values your relationship is that he is constantly anxious about you leaving regardless if you’ve been together for days or years. It’s another reason why he shows you off; people that know him would know better than to go for his significant other for as willing as he is to do what has to be done. If he feels threatened in that regard, he’s quick to go on the offensive. If he feels like you’re not emotionally invested as he is, he’s going to confront you about it. Open communication is a must for him; he’s not telling you things about him and his life for you to write him a biography, so if you aren’t willing to be open the relationship is going to die a slow and agonizing death.

Mello is a high maitence partner, but what he lacks in ease he makes up for in devotion and commitment. You will never have to worry about him falling out of love with you or harboring quiet resentment. Not a very universally appealing pick, but an understandable one.
