Warmth
ShigaDeku IzukuxShigaraki Midoriya Izuku x Shigaraki Tomura | Shimura Tenko
The hand that he didn't even notice was scratching at his throat was suddenly enveloped by warmth. He was startled and turned to the warmth that sat down next to him on the couch. He'd nearly blinded by the sweet smile that's turned his way. Izuku finally made it down from changing into his pajamas. It was movie night and Tsu chose a horror movie filled with clowns. Do you know what Tenko Shimura hated? Clowns and horror themed movies. He had enough horror to deal with in real life, alright?
Villains were constantly trying to recruit him into their little boy band and his some people in the school refused to believe that he could ever be hero with his quirk and upbringing. He wasn't the one that murdered his mom, he loved her with his whole being! How could they even think that?! He's not the only one with this quirk! Everyone seems to forget that he inherited it from his birth male parental unit. Tenko was just happy he was taken from the asshole at a young enough age to not turn to what his biological father was trying to force him into. His adoptive father was a quiet but kind man that helped him come to terms with his quirk and helped him learn to control it.
So no. Tenko did not like horror movies filled with clowns. He did however find comfort  that his small green boyfriend did like them and watched them frequently. Because he watched them so often, there's very few he hasn't seen. Zuku knows he hates horror movies but loves to be and feel included with the class and will put up with whatever he felt he needed to, to be apart of the group. His boyfriend will let him snuggle into his side and give him kisses on top of his head before every jump scare or particularly evil clown is supposed to make an appearance. He'll hold both of his hands, middle fingers wrapped in the tape Mei made for him, and rubs small circles in the backs of his hands to sooth his nerves.
He's an amazing light in Tenko's life. He's supported him from the very beginning. He was never scared of Tenko and always trusted him when Tenko touched him. Gifted him with special lotions that healed, soothed, and softened his dry and cracked skin the second he found out the side effects of his quirk. He stood up for him with the occasional asshole that decided picking on his, his looks and his quirk were a fantastic way to pass their time.  Izuku is his first and best friend. And he's an even better boyfriend.
When they first started to date Izuku was a giant ball of nerves and awkwardness. Well that was until he saw that Tenko was even more so. That was when he developed a confidence that even had Bakugou reeling, with the way Izuku took to reassuring him whenever he could. Everywhere you saw Tenko you saw Izuku giving him the hugs and random touches he never received as a child. He was three hundred percent a spoiled boyfriend and he enjoyed every second of it. He felt like a protected treasure and he did everything in his power to make sure that Izuku knew just how much he was appreciated and loved, even if he knows there's not nearly enough in this world that could come close to what Izuku truly deserves.
He's pulled closer to Izuku and allows the boy to maneuver them till around till his Greenie is laying under him with his legs propped up on the arm of the end of the couch closest to the television. His green head of hair rested on the pillow Tenko brought down in preparation for the night. The baby blue haired teen was shifted and pulled to lay on top of his boyfriend with his head on the warm, broad, muscled chest and his legs twined the others. His right arm was under Izuku and his left hand was being caressed gently and a thumb passed across the back of it lovingly. A content sigh leaves him and he snuggles his nose into Izuku's soft sleep shirt.
A chuckle rumbles in the chest he's snuggled in and it brings a light blush to his cheeks. He loves that rumble. Loves the laugh. Love the aspiring hero that they belong too.
There's a hand running through his hair and a kiss pressed to his forehead. "Love the new shampoo. You smell like coconuts." He blushes harder and digs his face deeper into Zu's chest.
"Stop." He whines into the chest he's decided would be his final resting place. "You're so embarrassing."
The hand that was smoothing through his hair pulls away and for a moment he's afraid that Izuku was going to push him off. He should have known better but even now he's scared that Izuku is just going to wake up one day and come to his senses and leave him. Instead of shoving him off though, the arm goes around his shoulders and he's squeezed in even closer to the warmth that is his Ku Bunny and his quirk. It's two and a half years and he still marvels at the way Izuku runs warmer with the electricity that runs through his veins.
"That may be, but you love it, Kitten." It's whispered into that sensitive skin behind his ear  with a little nip to the shell of his ear that gives him a full body shudder and a strawberry red face.
"Oi! Quit your shit Deku! The movie is about to start and we don't need any hanky panky going on again while clowns are trying to murder this family!" His boyfriend's best friend yells from the couch right next to them a small throw pillow comes flying with the words. I hit Izuku in the back of the head and lands softly on the floor behind him.
"Only if you promise no more hand jobs to Denki under the blanket. Make sure Kiri's head doesn't accidentally fall into your lap again when he falls asleep. II'd like to make it through the whole movie tonight you guys." The waggle of Izuku's eyebrows and big bright smile has Katsuki flaming red, Kiri sputtering and Denki pouting. Meanwhile the rest of the class had their jaws dropped and they were laughing. Everyone knew what the trio did when the lights went out on horror movie nights, and nine times out of ten the exhibitionists would pick up and head to one of their rooms but the last few times over the last few months were just a little different.
"Oh look the movie's starting!"  A red Kiri shouts out and catches everyone's attention and directs it towards the television before anyone could really comment on what was just said.
It was a subject that was discussed and agreed on but it was almost an unspoken rule no to call anyone out. Katsuki knew how embarrassed Tenko would get if he hinted at what happened a two Wednesdays ago. Where Izuku  may or may not have had him rutting against his leg like a bitch in heat that set off everyone else to get hot and bothered and led to the movie not being finished and everyone getting a lecture from Aizawa the following day for everyone being too loud. It was a mess.
Maybe with both the class labeled power couples being called out they'd get to finish the movie tonight. Not that Tenko wanted to watch the movie, no he hated the genre and character costumes.
But the warmth of his most beloved holding him close is enough for him to behave and maybe even fall asleep early tonight regardless of what was playing on the television in front of them that was VIOLENTLY SLAUGHTERING A FAMILY OF FIVE IN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES OF THE MOVIE?!
Yeah no maybe Tenko would start something.

The Weight of a Name
Some meta on Shigaraki, Kotaro, All For One, and the Japanese adoption system.
So, I was thinking the other day about Shigaraki, family names, and the illustration of power that is All For One wresting Shigaraki from the Shimura family into his own.  To wit: I had occasionally wondered about Kotaro's resentment of his mother; about whether his adoptive parents, whoever they were, were cruel or distant with him, or whether he was so deeply wounded by his perceived abandonment that no arrangement would have been happy or supportive enough to lessen his trauma.  Also, why in heaven's name wasn't his name changed?  If Nana was concerned that All For One might hurt him to get at her, why wasn't the simplest and most basic aspect of his identity, his family name, altered?  Upon further reflection, though, I remembered some of what I've read about family law in Japan and came to a realization: I don't think Kotaro was adopted.  This has significant implications for both his own upbringing and the statement All For One makes in “adopting” Tenko.
While adoption numbers look high in Japan--the second-highest in the world--in reality, over 90% of adoptions in the country are adult adoptions of men in their 20s-30s, usually for the purposes of inheriting businesses.  Foster care is rare now and was once even rarer; the majority of children in the care of Japanese child services grow up in overcrowded, understaffed institutions, and scant few of these children are even eligible to be adopted due to family law stating that putting a child in an orphanage does not equate to surrendering one's parental rights.  Often, children are placed in orphanages due to the parents' financial difficulty or history with abuse, with the possibility that they might come back for those children when they get their lives back on track--though in reality, this is quite rare.
Why are these ties kept so strong?  Well, it goes back to family ties and bloodlines, and the ways in which modern Japanese society is built around those things on some very, very bedrock levels.  In the West, we have individual documents for our major life events, but in Japan, since the 1870s, there has been the koseki.
The koseki is a family registry--one is entered into one's parents' registry at birth, with all information about the family's births, deaths, marriages, divorces and adoptions being kept in the same place.  The registry for a given family is maintained for two generations, with children typically only beginning their own family registries when and if they marry--sometimes not even bothering until they have a child!  The koseki--theirs and each of their parents'--will also have references to one another, allowing a diligent person to track a family line and its major events back for generations by simply following the paperwork.  Being recorded in a koseki is the primary indicator of Japanese citizenship.  "Family" as recorded in the koseki governs inheritance rights, and in turn carries expectations about children looking after their parents in the latter's old age.  While in recent years, limits have been placed on who can access koseki, as recently as 2008, anyone who was even curious about someone else's koseki could walk into the relevant government office and ask to see it for only a basic fee.  This contributes to enormous privacy concerns and societal pressure to not do anything that would "sully" the family koseki, as doing so could not impact just peoples' views of you, but of everyone else in your family.  (cite)
The whole schema for the koseki assumes a heterosexual, nuclear family dynamic, with a predictable difficulty in forcing that framework fit outlying cases--single parents, international or same-gender marriages, divorce, surrogacy arrangements, gender changes, and--most relevant to this discussion--adoption.  Because of the perceived sanctity of the koseki, adoption of children for purposes other than inheritance remains vanishingly rare--combine that with the rarity of parents who give up their children ever returning for them, and what you have are too many children in too few facilities, a recipe for misery.  Children in Japanese orphanages are often considered--by both people in society at large and even the children themselves--as "unwanted."  Studies about children who grew up in such institutions suggest they lag behind the rest of their age group in development and in school, that they have little experience in forming long-term bonds with others; "many struggle with basic interpersonal skills like empathy and regulating their emotional state."  Adults who come out of such institutions often fail to finish school or seek higher education and wind up working low-paying jobs or relying on government assistance. (cite, but also see: Bubaigawara Jin)
While Kotaro--if he was raised in an orphanage--clearly overcame the odds very admirably regarding his schooling and employment, he equally clearly came out of the experience still nursing emotional scars and ill-equipped to deal with children of his own.  This glacial societal resistance to mucking with family records probably also explains why his name was never changed--if he was never adopted by another family, there would be no other koseki to register him to, and Japan doesn't have a witness protection program.
What all of this illustrates to me--along with shedding some light on what Kotaro's childhood post-Nana was probably like--is what exactly is being communicated by All For One's adoption and subsequent renaming of Shimura Tenko.  Kotaro was leashed to the Shimura name all his life, even after his mother gave him up, even after she died.  He could never escape his status as "an unwanted child"; anyone who wanted to look him up could do so (including, very possibly, All For One himself, depending on how much of Shigaraki's backstory you think was orchestrated from the beginning).
By contrast, Tenko is severed cleanly from the Shimura family name, given another name not listed on any koseki (at least not one updated within the last two hundred years).  He's cut out of the Shimura family entirely, adopted at a young age by a man who wants him, a man with such utter disregard for societal systems and values that he's able to just take the child he wants, difficulties with adoptions and names and family registers be damned.  In a stroke, at his whim, the unyielding weight of Shimura is nullified, and instead, Tenko becomes Shigaraki Tomura, a child who doesn't exist anywhere.  Not recorded on a koseki, he is thus without family or nationality, his Quirk unrecorded, his date of birth unknown.  There is nowhere any proof of his existence.  All told, it's a pretty profound statement about the lengths All For One is willing (and happy) to go to in stamping out all traces of the One For All bearers' legacies.
(...And yet, perversely, Shigaraki also kind of fits the model for Japanese adoption--All For One explicitly intends him to be a successor, after all.  In that light, you could say that he was adopted into the Shigaraki family to inherit the family business.  I have to imagine that All For One thought this was pretty funny, though probably no one else agrees with him.)
A note: The stats and info I reference above are relevant to modern-day Japan and, of course, My Hero Academia isn't set in modern-day Japan, not quite.  It's set in Japan 200-300-odd years in the future, with the caveat that the development of super-powers and the resulting massive social upheaval stunted societal and technological growth  such that the setting still looks mostly like modern-day Japan, only with super-powers.  That being the case, do we assume that the ongoing updates to the koseki system had already been made as of the emergence of Quirks, enduring through the plot as we know it, or do we assume that changes to the system were made on a roughly even time-scale as in modern times--e.g. did employers stop being able to ask for a copy of one's koseki in 1974 or merely "forty-five years ago"?
Given the chaos that was wrought by the appearance of Quirks, the alleged lawless periods, as well as the existence of a mandatory Quirk registry and the phenomenon of "Quirk marriages," I am disinclined to believe that the problems represented by the koseki have been addressed much at all since early-2000s Japan.  If anything, the conservative influences in the Japanese government that are so resistant to legislating changes to how the koseki functions today would probably have even more reason to push back against those changes if faced with Sudden Super-Powers.  My Hero Academia is intended to speak to a modern Japanese audience--the issues facing its villains, in particular, are reflective of real problems people face in Japan--and thus, to me at least, it's counterintuitive not to interpret the series' characters with that modern Japanese context in mind.  Who is Horikoshi writing for, and what in his society is he trying to comment on?  With that lens in place, I think the koseki is exactly as much a problem in MHA's world as it is our own--possibly even moreso.

Heroic Tomura Shigaraki (Tenko Shimura) Head cannon ideas
So my sister and I were talking about Shigaraki the other day and wondering what sort of person he would be if he was a hero over a villain. The funny thing is that he could have been that if some small things had happened differently. So we figured, why not do a head cannon of what a Heroic type of person Tomura could have been. This is what we figured out so far. So by no means is this the end of things.
As a Child Head cannon
Tumblr media
Grew up to a point with his parents until they were attacked by All for One.
Didn’t know Nana was his grandmother nor a super hero. His dad didn’t even know so he couldn’t tell him that.
Nana still died but before she did, she let Grand Torino know, via letter, if something were to happen to her, where to find her son and his family.
When her death happens, Grand Torino is the one that finds Tomura in the alley way before All for One get’s there.
Tenko, which is what his name is, is terrified as his dad told him to go and hide and a guy had come to try to take him out of the alley way and Tenko had touched him melting him to ash. So when Torino finds him he’s scared and at first won’t come, and Torino winds up having him come over by using his cape to pull him away because Tenko is scared he’ll melt him too.
Grand Torino takes him to the police, hoping to get some info on who attacked him, but he’s too scared to talk. The chief of police, who’s friends with Grand Torino, asks him if he wants to take the boy home with him till they can find his leagal guardian.
Grand Torino puts in papers for becoming his guardian the next morning.
While growing up with Grand Torino, Tenko get’s taught about not touching everything, or rather how to do it without decomposing it.
When he’s seven Tenko first meet Toshinori, who thinks Tenko is Grand Torino’s great nephew –or so he tells him.
Toshi befriends him, and thinks he’s adorable.
As a child Grand Torino found out the best way to deal with Tenko’s dry skin was to give him oatmeal baths and later him up with lotion. This is something Tomura still does to this day to keep his skin from becoming a mess and itchy.
As he got older Tenko started to figure out that Grand Torino was a superhero due to his activity, and is worried that Torino sees him as a bad person because of his powers. Torino and Toshinori both comfort him and tell him that his powers don’t make him a bad person and that he can be a hero too.
Torino works hard to teach Tenko how to  control the speed of his decay as he goes in to school. Eventually Tenko can control the speed at which things decay by his touch, based on focusing on it subconsciously. He also learns to hold things with four of his five fingers at all times.
Calls Grand Torino, Grandpa or Pops, or Geezer later on. All in a loving way.
While in Elementary school
Tenko was more alone and shy when he first went to school and didn’t have friends as he was seen as the weird kid.
Teachers were a bit scared of him because he was still learning to control his powers and at least once in second grade he got upset about someone teasing another classmate and yelled at them, but hit the desk with his full hand and decomposed it.
Toshinori at this time really works on being his buddy and keeping him happy. He starts calling him Ten-kun
By the time he’s nearing the end of elementary school Tenko figures out who Toshinori is, and pretty much one night while they’re sitting outside in the summer (Tenko is Ten at the time) and while Grand Torino is right there, and they’re eating some frozen treats, he blurts out, “I know you’re All Might Toshinori.” Nearly causes Toshinori to choke on a slice of watermelon.
Tenko starts to wonder about his family and Grand Torino’s connection to his grandma other then they were friends. Eventually Grand Torino has to tell him that his Grandmother died, but he wants to know why.
One day while he was doing some work with Torino, he fell and grabbed Torino’s arm, and injured him. He still blames himself for that to this day.
Middle school for Tomura
By the time he’s in middle school he’s still the loner but now girls seem to find him mysterious and hot. He mostly keeps his hair trimmed but still looks like he rolled out of bed as his hair is kind of naturally messy.
He tried to slick back his hair one day and Grand Torino said it made him look like an old salary man. Which made him turn back around and dunk his head in water to clean it off and he went to school half wet not wanting to look like some old geezer like Torino.
His uniform was always wrinkled because he was worried that if he tried to hang it up, he would accidently destroy it somehow.
Tenko started to adopt cats in middle school. One followed him home, so he hid it and kept doing that till Grand Torino figured it out, but by then it was too late and he had around ten cats in his room.
Every cat is named randomly –game characters for some, ice cream flavors for others, objects in the house (there’s a cat named Tables) and at least one cat that will only answer to “Hey stupid cat.”
Tenko tends to do the shopping for dinner because, as he put it “Gramps never bought anything healthy, it’s why he shrunk so fast as an old man”. He can tell which food is the freshest due to his quirk and recognizing any form of decay.
Tenko was seen as a good student and also good at test taking, much to the annoyance of some students. His teachers in middle school seemed to like him more.
One day he was attacked by a man who tried to kidnap him but he managed to get away. After that Tenko stared to wear glasses and kept a hoodie on to keep people from noticing him.
His eyes being red were a stand out feature that a lot of girls liked, but he never dated because he didn’t know how to react to them asking him out.
During this time was also when he started to realize that his grandmother may have some ties to the All for One Event.
At this time Toshi started to visit less because of the crime rate going on and other things happening.
U.A. High school
Tumblr media
Tenko decided to go to UA High school suprising Torino, but it made Toshinori really happy.
Toshi offers to let Tenko live by him so he’s closer to the school and so that they can train for the test.
Rather than Deku’s sort of training they focused on stamina and endurance, so that he could move quickly and stealthily around.
During this time Tenko decided to change his name to Tomura Shigaraki as a means of covering up who he was and so the guys that tried to kidnap him before couldn’t find him.
During the summer training he also met Sir Nighteye.
Night’s eye thought the kid could have been dangerous, but also sees his potential to be a hero for those with darker quality quirks that others fear.
Tomura was seen to be a bit on the reckless side, because he was driving himself hard to get in so that he could be a hero to get access to the police files and find out who killed his family and why. He got pissed off easily with himself and came off as a bit of an ass to Night’s eye, who also saw him as being too sarcastic at times for his own good, and a bit too standoffish.
Night’s eye told All Might about this, and says that Tomura would become part of the Billboard hero group.
Tomura tells him outright that he gives to shits about that and his main goal is to become a hero to help people and he doesn’t care if he’s number one, just as long as he can keep some kid from having to loses his family like he did.
During the testing he impresses the judges by showing heroic tendencies.
Unlike the others who were rushing around gaining points he was trying to keep others from being hurt by the falling debris and clearing paths for others.
Nezu was really impressed by him, and put him in the hero classes.
To Tomura’s surprise he gained a small group of friends in school: Mirko (who later becomes Rabbit Hero Mirko), the boy that later becomes Native, Ryuko Tatsuma (who later becomes Dragoon Hero Ryukyu), and the girl who later goes by the name Sirius, and another boy who goes on to work with a hero team.
However even with friends he’s still aloof.
During the Sports festival he actually manages to get in third place by using stragey over brute strength to get past his opponent but lost out to a guy that could use bubble attacks as he couldn’t break out of that with his decay powers.
Tomura had several offers from various heroes, including All Might and Endevor.
He declined them both. For All Might the tells him it’s because he feels it would be favoritism on Toshi’s part since they know one another.
For Endevor, he tells him straight up he just doesn’t like him.
During the summers when he stays by Toshinori’s place, Toshi has to chase him around to get him to put the lotion on because he hates being lathered up as it feels gross to him. It still does but he deals with it.
As a student he tried to do digging on his grandmother’s death and the name Shimura, but the police kept blocking him.
He was jealous during his teen years of Night’s eye due to the fact that he actually wanted to work with and help All Might, but was always worried that he was going to hurt him somehow like he did Torino.
When he was able to get a dorm room, Tomura decorated it with posters of groups that he liked, among them the Wild Wild Pussycats. His favorite being Pixie-bob.  Though a good portion of it is empty due to his quirk, as he didn’t want to destroy something he liked by accident since the room was small. He also liked Eraserhead, and thought he was cool,  but never got the hub bub over Midnight.
During his time at UA, Tomura was seen as being a good student but aloof, and people were a bit intimidated by him so he never really got bullied or had a rivalry like some of the other students did.
He did like his teachers in UA, and mostly his Home room teacher, whom he had a slight crush on.
During the time he was in high school he started to have nightmares about the guy that tried to kidnap him and that he turned to dust.
When All Might and Night’s eye had their falling out he tried to help Toshi but there wasn’t any love lost in regard to Sir Nighteye departing.
During his time as an Intern he met Kamui Woods, who still to this day tries to get him to hang out with some of the pro heroes as he thinks Tomura is cool.
Tomura had trouble getting his license due to the fact that the commission was worried that his powers would be seen as too dangerous or scary to the public.
Nezu went to bat for him and to this day Tomura feels like he owes the little rat.
While he was in his third year he went out on his first date. Toshinori was more excited than him about it, he just thought it was okay.
Pro Hero time
Tumblr media
Costume tends to be a black and gray hoodie with decayed and distressed appearance. Black pants with gray designs on them, a shirt up to his neck so he doesn’t scratch at it –it’s still a habit of his, also has a mouth mask that let’s you see his eyes, but the front has a sort of decayed look to it, and he mostly uses this when he’s dealing with criminals. When around citizen’s he just zips up the hoodie to his nose to cover it and look less scary to them.
His thought process was if someone scary looking could be heroic then people may not be so scared about the scarier quirks in the world.
Although he has a pro hero name, the press has dubbed him State of Decay, and he really dislikes it.
Most of the Pro heroes, the younger ones at least, try to get along with him but it doesn’t always work as he tends to not be the social type.
He is a team player though, but stays to the back and doesn’t like the press or people really watching him.
Tomura tends to try to keep the damage and debris to a minium if he can help that. He also tends to play clean up duty when other heroes make a big mess and leave a wreckage that needs to be broken down to protect the civilians in the area.
Like Eraserhead he’s a night person.
Has a really clean apartment but he looks disheveld naturally. Tends to be really tidy but is lazy about his own looks, but is always clean and oddly smells like mint.
Has a cat that he picked up, it was a stray.
Also his apartment has a leak and he can’t find the source. He thinks someone maybe squatting on the roof and is constantly trying to find where the leak is coming from as it moves around the kitchen a lot.
Keeps moving a bucket under it to keep the water from causing damage to the floor and the like.
When he started as a pro hero he took one intern who was all water, never did again after that, as he’s always worried about accidently harming someone in the heat of things.
He knows Knuckle duster and the other viglanties and respects him and them.
Shigaraki actually rides a motorcycle around because it’s quicker for him.
He and Aizawa sometimes patrol together at night and eat lunch. Aizawa also knows that Shigaraki has a pet cat, so he’s always bring him some sort of different cat food to try out.
The cat is a picky eater.
Kamui woods tends to ask him out for drinks to socialize.
Midnight thinks he’s attractive but isn’t interested and he tends to get embarrassed by her.
Both can be very serious but she teases him a lot about his shyness.
Inginum knows him and wants to be friends with Tomura.
Tenya’s older bro is one of the few people that Tomura openly admits that he likes as a person, but is scared to be friends with as he doesn’t want to hurt him.
One of the reasons he’s okay with hanging out with Aizawa is because his power can turn Tomura’s off for periods of time so he’s not worried of harming Eraserhead as much as others.
He once got to meet the Wild Wild Pussycats on the job and froze on the spot.
Pixie bob thought it was cute that he was flustered the way he was.
When working with Toshinori the two get along rather well, but they’re always trading comments, with Toshi commenting on the sarcastic nature of Tomura, and Tomura noting that all the sweetness that All Might oozes could give him tooth decay.
Keep in mind it’s all for fun as Tomura cares a lot for Toshinori.
When Toshinori got hurt in his major fight with All for One, Tomura started to get distant from the other heroes.
He became more focused on finding All for One and taking him down permanently.
Tomura is bitter that Toshinori got hurt and feels he should have been there to help, and again, blames himself for the injury.
He became more irritable after this event, and is very protective of Toshi when he’s working and will glare down anyone saying anything against All-might.
Toshinori knows he’s been stalking him when he works and one time called out Tomura for being up for 72 hours straight.
My Hero story proper
Tomura’s first appearance in the series would be when he’s stalking Deku on the beach.
He scares the hell out of Izuku and “tests” him.
All might tells him off for his behavior and Tomura tells Deku that he’s watching him then leaves.
Later he talks to Toshinori about the test and if he’s sure about Izuku, he doesn’t trust the boy he says.
During their training sessions Tomura is hiding all over the place to spy on them and see how Deku behaves.
Later during his time at the school Tomura is watching from the trees, and Aizawa turns off his powers so he can’t decompose leaves to peer out of.
He teases Toshinori some about being a teacher, and asks exactly what Toshi can bring to the table as teacher that’s no different than being a mentor.
All Might has Tomura at one point play a villain for a Challenge for the kids.
He at first doesn’t try very hard, but something Bakugo says pisses him off and he shows how scary his powers can really be when unleashed.
During the time when the first Villains attack happens he actually gets the police to give him the files that he wants on Nana, for the deal of helping them with the Nomu autopsy.
During the tournament All-might invites him to watch and Nezu pulls him into his private box.
Tomura notes that, like him, Bakugo could become a target for villains if he doesn’t keep himself in check with his anger.
When Deku seriously hurts himself he yells at him calling him an idiot, pointing out that damaging himself will not be a boon when he’s in a serious situation and people are relying on him.
During the tournament he has a tense discussion with Endevor after he puts together a few things about Todoroki being Endevor’s kid.
Tomura mentions that if he does anything to cause issues he won’t hesitate to bring up his suspicion to the cops.
Endevor warns him to stay out of his family business or he’ll make sure Tomura gets removed from being a hero.
They absolutely hate one another.
When Enginium gets injured he leaves to check in on him.
One of his friends that he made during his time as hero was killed by Stain and he’s not in a good place.
Goes to see Knuckleduster about Stain to see if he can tell him anything about the guy, but can’t prove anything without getting the Viglanties in trouble.
Winds up reconnecting to Grand Torino when the Nomu attacks.
Came to see Grand Torino earlier when he’s mentoring Deku, and brings veggies for the “Old man” to eat to keep up his health.
Deku learns of Tomura’s connection to Grand Torino, and sees another side of Shigaraki.
During the fight with the Nomu and Stain Shigaraki finds out about Stain’s full MO and feels like the “Creep” has no right violating All-might’s message.
While the kids are in the hospital, he goes to check in on them and surprisingly tells them he gets why they did what they did and wishes he could have figured things out soon to spare them some of the pain they had to suffer.
Also he went to hang out with Tenya’s older brother while he’s recovering.
He tells Toshinori when he sees him about what he learned about the connections to Knuckleduster but won’t stop Knuckleduster or the Vigilanties from doing their work.
During the final exam All-Might has Shigaraki watching Deku and Bakugo.
Shigaraki notes that the two could be amazing if they can overcome their own issues.
After the final he talks to Deku and tells him that he hopes that Deku’s ambition to be someone for kids to look up to ala All-might comes true.
Then adds that he has Deku’s back come what may, even if he thinks he’s got a long way to go, but he’s starting to see what Toshi saw in Deku.
He is not involved in the School trip as there is really nothing for him to do there.
When Bakugo get’s captured Shigaraki helps with figuring out a plan to get him back.
All Might doesn’t want him involved as he feels it’s a bad idea, but doesn’t tell him that it’s because of Sir. Nighteye’s vision.
Tomura gets a letter at his apartment that says someone knows what happened to his grandmother.
Before All Might leaves to go on the attack against the League, he gets a call from Shigaraki asking if All Might knew his Grandmother. When Toshi says no, Shigaraki hangs up the phone on him and leaves All-might worried.
While the Pro Heroes are dealing with the Hideout and Nomus in the warehouse, Shigaraki confronts All for One and finds out the truth.
He discovers that he’s the grandson of Nana Shimura who was the former holder of One for All and Toshi’s mentor.
Also he tells Tomura that he killed his grandmother and wants Shigaraki to join him.
Tomura is, rightly, pissed and rejects the offer and goes out of his way to fight All for One.
The battle leaves him badly hurt, but he’s able to give out an SOS just after All for One leaves, which Midnight receives and finds him in a horrible state.
While the earlier part of the Battle between All-Might and All for One is going on, Shigaraki was taken to the hospital and has to have immediate surgery and placed in emergency care after.
Whiel the battle is raging on between All-might and All for one, Toshi finds out about what happened to Shigaraki, that he’s Nana’s grandson, and that he could be dead right now.
At the Hospital Tomura hears the shouting for All-might on the Tv and wakes up, shocking the nurses, who try to calm him down. He yells at the Tv for All Might to fight and that he wants to see his friend again.
Toshinori’s comments of “Your next” tells Deku of his role, but also Tomura sees it as a note that he’s going to have to step up and help Izuku now.
For the first time in a long time, Tomura Shigaraki cries.

How would Shigaraki and Overhaul flirt with their s/o?
I’m sorry if this isn’t what you meant; I couldn’t think of a way for Tenko to flirt with someone if he was already dating them, so I rolled with this. I’m sorry; I went a little overboard with Chisaki o_o I can’t help myself.
-Mod Pasta🍜🍝
Shigaraki Tomura/Shimura Tenko:
✋️When he realized that he liked you, he probably destroyed a whole building out of shock, slight anger, and a fuck ton of jealousy.
🖐Once he finally returns back to the hideout, he finds you giggling and speaking carelessly with Kurogiri. Everyone was in high spirits except himself. He coaxed you out of the main room, then angrily started ranting to you.
✋️“(Y/N), I can’t stop thinking about it, make it fucking stop, it’s annoyingly,” he growled, punching the drywall and making it crack. You flinched, slightly afraid of his fury. He wouldn’t mention what he couldn’t stop thinking about, though.
🤚It took a bit to make him calm down, but once he was, he just stomped off. The next time you saw him, he wouldn’t even talk about the encounter.
🖐You noticed that he would talk to you more, picking you out in a crowd to simple be around.
🖖He was opposed to ever even brushing his fingers against someone whilst talking to them, but now he would lean into you during conversations, his fingers brushing against your own.
🤚Instead of putting Father in his pocket, he’ll ask you to hold it for him if he’s doing a small task. That little bit of trust goes a long way, though.
✋️Sometimes he’ll give you little small gifts. Obviously under the guise of “I don’t want this and I think you would like it,” but he secretly likely got Kurogiri to buy it for him. Kurogiri absolutely ships you two.
🖖On the note of shipping, All for One is in absolute SHAMBLES. His son… crushing?! On a person?! His son growing up, maturing and learning to love?!
🖐Assuming that his crush doesn’t slowly deteriorate, he’ll start to get more bold with what he says, “I liked the top you wore yesterday. Wear it more.”
✋️Compared to any other person you have ever met that has flirted with you, Tenko has the most weird signs. He’s like a child with his first love; he just wants to be around you, but he also doesn’t want to ruin what you already have.
🖐Finally, he up and says to you during a normal day in the hideout; “I want to call you my girlfriend.”
Chisaki Kai:
💊When he first sees you, he’s already intrigued. He asks his colleague who this “lovely young lady” is. It turns out that you had just come to drop off your brother, one of the Eight Precepts of Death’s lunch. It was a sweet gesture, but now that Precept has to deal with Chisaki asking a multitude of questions about you, probably including where you live.
💊He plans out a weekly rout of walking to run into you a maximum of two times a week. He starts out only saying hello, but it leads into him starts conversations with you. The Precept that you dropped the lunch off to has to ask Chisaki to “lay off of his sister,” but Chisaki simply threatens to kill him without batting an eyelash.
💊“If you aren’t busy, would you like to get some coffee?”
💊He soon wishes that he hadn’t chosen coffee; the coffee place that you took him to masked your smell. He loved YOUR smell a lot more than coffee grounds and chocolate shavings. As he sipped his cup, listening to you speak, he felt a sort of humane normality that he usually never gets to feel.
💊These coffee escapades get him closer to you. He learns that you work as a support sidekick to a very well-known and high ranking hero, and he compliments you in a backhanded fashion, “oh, (Y/N), they don’t deserve you.” He plays it off as a joke, chuckling. You laugh, the beautiful sound similar to a rake cleaning up the clutter of his dark thoughts.
💊Eventually he asks you out onto a real date. He brings you flowers and everything, but he still won’t remove the plague mask. You hadn’t asked about it yet, but now you were curious.
💊When you did ask, he simply waved you off and said that it was a gift that he had grown attached to over time. The date went nicely, and you two exchanged numbers.
💊He’s a very formal texter; he never uses abbreviations, and his texts either formed a sentence or something similar. He definitely doesn’t text like he talks, and he flirts a lot more over text.-What are your plans for this lovely night?~Nothing much. (Precept) decided to come home late, so I threw his dinner away. He’s complaining like a baby.-How lovely; do you often cook for him?~I cook for everyone :D I love cooking
💊He was slightly confused over the next few days. If you cooked for everyone, why wouldn’t you cook for him? Wait; maybe you just didn’t know that he would accept your cooking. He wanted you to cook for him, and the jealousy was gnawing at his insides, but he would never admit it.
💊He’ll leave little flowers on your doorstep at this point, and who’s to say he doesn’t take a nap in the bushes near your house, waiting for you to come home just so that he can see the look of pleasant surprise on your face when you pick the flower up.
💊It takes him a while to ask you out; by the time that he has, he’s already been in your house twice, and you hang out on a bi-daily basis. He’ll mindlessly wrap his arm around your shoulder when guiding you somewhere, and it ghosts there for just a second too long.
💊One day, you find out that he likes white chocolate brownies because you see him buying them, then sneaking them under his mask to eat them. A week later, you make him some white chocolate brownies and present them to him at a mini park date, and his usual calm and collected eyes widen.
“Oh, that’s sweet of you,” he muttered, blinking slowly as he took the box from you. Your smile was like a ray of sunshine as he took a slice out, inspecting it almost like a chef. It made you small bit nervous; did you do something wrong?
“Y-Yeah…” you mumble, rubbing the back of your hand. His next words send you into a frenzy.
“Don’t lovers usually bake for each other?” He questioned, and from the few months that you knew him, you could taste the smirk on his lips. You blush all the way up to your cheeks; it was almost like he knew that you had a growing crush on him.
“I-Um, I just thought you might like them. I saw you with some around town, and I had the ingredients, and I’m rambling,” you end yourself with wide eyes and a breathy voice. A short laugh escapes his lips, and he’s leaning down to your face to inspect it rather than the pastry in his hands.
“If only lovers bake for each other, I guess this means that we’re lovers,” he tempted teasingly, and you groaned to yourself as you hid behind your wrists that were covered by an oversized hoodie of Kai’s favourite colour; dark green. You hadn’t even thought about it when you bought the hoodie, but it was a subconscious decision to wear something that he would enjoy.
“I mean… I wouldn’t mind,” you mumbled, and you squealed when you felt his hand on your arm, yanking you into the small alleyway connecting the coffee shop that you had your first date at and an antique shop. You could even smell the coffee; it was nostalgic.
“Good,” he responded calmly, simply; it was such a Chisaki thing to say. Your flustered expression brought a bit of joy to him, and his hands covered your eyes.
“Chisaki-hey, wait-!” You felt his lips on your own; rough, untouched lips gently caressed your soft, slight lipstick-stained ones. It was breathtaking, yet only lasted a second. When his hand fell from your face, you saw that his plague mask was already back onto his face, causing a small pout to tug at your lips.
“That wasn’t hard, was it?” He sounded like he was more confirming that to himself rather than you.
