Thinkin' about Nebula and Gamora in the kids AU.... this is at a point in time before they've given up hope on each other. While they're still craving family and love and friendship, rather than walling themselves off to it (yes, yes, they never hoping or craving, but they shut that part of themselves away behind layers and layers of calcified coldness).
Anyway, tiny Nebula falling over at one point and skinning her knee and refusing to cry because she's had SO MUCH WORSE, but little Gamora sticks out her hand to help her up anyway. And little Nebula accidentally shoots her a smile, without quite meaning to - then gets really flustered about it
Gamora is practically wriggling about with joy because her little sister smiled at her for the first time since Thanos had her beat Nebula into the ground...

i hate the commercialisation of the avengers inside the mcu both bc i find it cringy and meta but also bc it narratively doesn’t make sense.
we spent ten years establishing that the avengers are a contentious presence, civil war was literally about people not trusting them bc of what/who they are and now it’s almost completely erased and everyone loves them now? and don’t even get me started on rogers the musical
the way clint reacts makes it seem like the writers are trying to say it’s in poor taste but it’s less bc it trivialises a literal alien invasion but bc clint misses natasha and it hurts him to see an interpretation of her. not bc people are singing and dancing about an event that got hundreds if not thousands of people killed. the closest american equivalent i can think of is 9/11. people can’t even joke about it without being torn apart and it happened over 20 years ago. the battle of new york happened 10 years ago in the current mcu, the snap happened maybe a year ago, you’re telling me everyone’s chill with a musical about one of the worst days of their lives?
“i can do this all day” being their tagline encapsulates everything i dislike about it. the only people steve said that to were nazis that were immediately killed, tony who would never talk about what happened in siberia and the 2012 version of steve says it to him. no one else would know that phrase and acting like it’s something he crowed from the rooftops is at best a plot hole and at worse, an indictment of how little care the writers are having for the new era of the mcu

Gunn said the first movie was about the mother, the second about the father and the third about the self. And if I think about it, all characters finally come to terms to who they really are or want to be:
[SPOILERS]
• Mantis goes her own way, after following what Ego wanted and then what the Guardians wanted for all these years;
• Drax, that called himself the 'destroyer', finds his place as a 'father', even after his daughter's death;
• Groot: now that he is an adult again, it's pretty clear to us that he's phisically and mentally different from the GOTG1!Groot. He respects and supports everyone's choices in his family and makes us part of it too at the end (→ now we understand him too);
• Nebula, now free from Thanos, is now a leader and helps kids in need like she was as a child, following what she and Gamora talked about at the end of vol 2;
• Gamora learns why her 2018!self found a family between the Guardians, but feels she's different and chooses another path in the end;
• Rocket "ain't no one like me but me" accepts he's not alone in the world anymore and deserves to keep on living. Also, he calls himself "racoon" for the first time without it being a offense for him;
• Peter, always away from his planet, faces his fears and comes back to the Earth, where he lost his mother, and meets his granddad.
I don't like all the choices Gunn made in this movie (about Gamora's arc for example), but GOTG3 made me cry and laught and cry again and I'm happy we finally got to see the ending of this beautiful trilogy.

Okay but imagine: The Calamity Trio MCU AU as in it takes place in Earth 838 and Marcy, Anne, and Sasha are the reserve members of the Illuminati with Marcy as Moon Knight, Anne as the Superior Iron-Heart, and Sasha as the Human Torch. Also the three grilling and firing Mordo from the Illuminati after the events of Multiverse Of Madness because he was indirectly responsible for the whole thing with Marcy switching to Darcy then took him out back and he seemingly killed himself (his body had three gunshot wounds)
