The sun was setting just down past the mountains.

It had been a busy day and everyone was exhausted. You had all gone on a couple of yachts out to sea to dolphin watch and then come back and swam in the sea onshore.

After the end of tour, Harry had invited all of his family out to spend a month together in his gorgeous Italian house in the countryside. It was perfect for everyone, because it had endless garden land, a hot tub and a large swimming pool. It was a great house for the kids.

Harry’s family’s children were hear, and could be currently heard running around the garden with Nerf guns Uncle Harry had bought them to play with.

Currently, everyone was sat outside on the large patio area. There were bean bags, L-shaped sofas and other various comfortable chairs for people to sit on and none were spare.

“H?” Gemma asked, “Where’s Y/N?”

“Toilet I think.” Harry answered.

“When are you and Y/N getting married then, H?” Harry’s uncle, Dave, asked.

Harry laughed in shock and a few people cheered to that idea.

A lot of people were nursing beers and a few others with various cocktails they’d made for themselves. You had helped Harry set up a help-yourself bar for everyone to make whatever they wanted.

Harry himself had a Corona in hand, with a lime in the top because apparently that’s the best way you take it.

“Oh, let them be!” Anne shushed her brother up. “They’re still in their honeymoon phase.”

Anne watched as her son got all shy, blushing as he thought about how in love he was with you. Anne smiled, knowing her boy would always be happy with you by his side.

“They’ve been in that phase for six years now. The poor girl will run if he doesn’t ask soon.” Dave piped up again.

“Y/N can ask me too, y’know.” Harry suggested, shrugging his shoulders.

“We all know you’re too romantic to let Y/N do that.” Someone else piped up, to which they all agreed.

“Heyy!” Harry protested, but deep down he knew they were right.

Harry had always wanted to get to ask you the big question. Being engaged and looking forward to his own wedding has been something he has looked forward to, ever since watching his first romcom.

Harry won’t settle for giving you anything less than the perfect proposal.

“I do want to be alive to see you get married, love.” Harry’s nan, Marge, chimed in, making everyone laugh.

“You will be, nan. I promise.” Harry held up his beer in promise to his nan. “And anyways, why aren’t you all nagging at Gem - whom is also still not married.”

Harry knew exactly why.

“Don’t believe in marriage, H.” Gem said. “Plus Michal says it’s too difficult choosing a ring.”

“That is true.” Michal nodded and agreed, making Gemma laugh and cuddle closer into his side on the sofa.

Harry looked at them and then towards the house, missing you after only two minutes. He wondered where you were.

“Have you gone ring shopping yet, H?” One of Harry’s aunts, Linda, asked.

“Yes.” Harry shot his head back around to face the conversation.

“Is it going to break the bank?” Dave asked.

“Nothing could dent that boys bank, Dave.” Linda laughed.

Harry smiled along, knowing the ring safely tucked away in his suitcase was just what you had asked for. It had been a reasonable price and it’s beauty outshone everything else.

“Y/N trusts me to pick out the right ring.”

“Good lad.” Dave nodded onto Harry.

“Excuse me a minute.”

Harry put his beer down on the floor and left his family to go in search of you.

He wandered into the house and because it was very open, he was able to tell you weren’t downstairs. He shouted your name up the stairs, but no one responded.

“Babe?” He called again, standing at the bottom of the stairs.

He was getting worried now and ran up the stairs two at a time. He wandered down the hall and straight into your shared bedroom.

No one was on the bed and no one was in the bathroom.

“Y/N?” Harry shouted again, a little more sternly this time. “Where the fuck is—”

He looked in and out of all bedrooms upstairs and the bathrooms too, but no sign of you.

As Harry rushed back down the stairs and opened the front door. He was ready to shout your name again when he saw you sitting the hammock by the front garden gate alone.

He closes the front door and furrowed his eyebrows as he walked quickly over to you.

“Baby? Where have you been?” He asked, dodging in between the cars as made his way to you.

You looked up at him and smiled, but it was one that did not reach your eyes.

Harry watched as you brought a small tissue up to your noses and wipe underneath. He put together, as he moved closer towards you, that you had been crying.

“Baby…” Harry said softly, coming down to crouch in front of you.

You swallowed a lump in the back of your throat and rolled your eyes at your own emotions. Harry was nothing but patient with you, waiting for you to gather up whatever thoughts you wanted to say.

Harry stayed crouched down in front of you, hands clasping yours to stop you from picking away at the skin by your nails - a nasty habit he was constantly telling you off for.

“It’s my mum. She’s back in hospital.” You sadly smiles, watching Harry’s face drop too.

Harry let out a tut and a heavy sigh, sagging his head in sadness.

“Cancer came back. She’s been in for a month and has only just told me.” Your words started to come out in splutters towards the end of your sentence as you began to cry again. “Fuck, m’sorry.”

Harry popped his head at your apology. “No, don’t you start apologising for things that don’t need an apology. Don’t care that this is celebrating post tour. All I care about is you and seeing that smile on your face. If you haven’t got a smile today, that’s okay but we’ll work together to put one back there again.”

You nodded your head in understanding.

Harry moved to sit next to you, laying you both down on the hammock. Harry sat so his feet still touched the floor, but you moved so your whole body was on the hammock and you could tuck yourself into his side. Harry rocked the two of you slowly and rubbed his hand up and down your back, whilst you closed your eyes and listened to the sound of Harry’s heartbeat.

“We can go see her when we’re back, can’t we?” You asked.

“Of course. Why do y’ask?”

“Just checking, in case you had music plans or anything.”

“Baby. You know I’m yours now for the foreseeable future.”

“I know.”

“We can go see her every day if you want.” Harry suggested, “And also. I don’t care what you say, I’m paying for any extra treatment and care to make sure she’s as comfortable as she can be.”

“Ha—”

“No I’m not arguing with you on this, love.”

“But…”

“Yeah, your butt is lovely, I know.” You could hear his smirk as he patted your ass lightly with his hand.

That put a little smile on your face anyways.

“Thank you.” You said softly.

“It’ll be your bank account someday soon too.”

And you smiled again, knowing the prospect of an engagement was soon approaching.

Carrying the Banner Chapter 10: Jail Break- Spot Conlon x Quinn Harper

Word Count: 2.3k

A ragtag group of girls in a mix of dresses and pants, all shapes and sizes and races led by their small but mighty leader approached the theater in an organized manner, filing into the theater and sitting. Quinn stood standing, looking around at all of the people. Spot and the rest of Brooklyn was already there and had just walked back over to his boys after talking with Davey for a bit. Once he noticed Quinn he smiled involuntarily as he approached her.

“Fancy seeing you here” he joked. Quinn met him halfway with an air of confidence about her. The moment she approached him, audible giggles and murmurs rose from the group of girls. She ignored them and stuck out a hand for him to shake.

“Likewise. I hope I made the right decision in being here,” she responded in a slightly warning tone.

“You and me both,” he mumbled as he shook her hand shortly before Gemma called out to Davey.

“Hey Dave, where’s Jack?”

“Yeah! Where’s Jack?” Albert shouted, prompting the kids around them to begin chanting for their second leader. Quinn crossed her arms and looked up at Davey, already displeased that Jack wasn’t there to shake her hand and thank her for being there, especially because she hadn’t seen him in person since before all of this started. Davey shot Lucy a panicked look before timidly stepping onto the stage. Everyone grew quiet and watched in silence as he cleared his throat.

“Newsies of New York... look at what we've done. We've got newsies from every pape and every neighborhood here tonight. Tonight you're making history!” He exclaimed, earning cheers from the different boroughs.

“Tonight we declare that we're just as much a part of the newspaper as any reporter or editor! We're done being treated like kids. From now on they will treat us as equals!” He called, which made the newsies cheer louder. Spot crossed his arms, but he couldn’t stop the smile that formed on his face. Looks like the walking mouth could actually blab his mouth for something good after all. Right after Davey finished speaking Jack suddenly pushed past Lucy to reach the stage.

“You wanna be talked to like an adult? Then start actin' like one. Don't just run your mouth. Make some sense,” he grumbled.

“Hey, it’s Jack!” Albert shouted, warranting some cheers from the crowd. Davey was all too eager to step back beside Lucy and allow Jack to speak. Jack held up his hand, which successfully quieted everyone.

“All right. Pulitzer raised the price of papes without so much as a word to us. That was a lousy thing to do,” he started. “So we got mad and let 'em know we ain't gonna be pushed around. So we go on strike. Then what happens? Pulitzer lowers the price so's we'll go back to work. And a few weeks later he hikes the price back up again, and don't think he won't. So what do we do then? And what do we do if he decides to raise his price again after that?” His question confused everyone.

“Fellas, we gotta be realistic. We don't work, we don't get paid. How many days can you go without makin' money? However long, believe me, Pulitzer can go longer,” he continued as the crowd started to boo him. “But I have spoken to Mr. Pulitzer and he has given me his word: if we disband the union, he will not raise prices again for two years. He will even put it in writing. I say we take the deal. Go back to work knowing that our price is secure. All we need to do is vote ‘NO' on the strike. Vote no.”

Quinn was red with rage as his speech ended. She watched as Jack began to walk backstage, but was stopped by Morris Delancey with an envelope. That was the final straw for her. Quinn’s face distorted into complete anger as she hopped up onto the stage and approached Jack.

“You think this is funny?” She shouted. “You put my kids in danger, got Hilda arrested and you sold out?” She shoved him by the shoulders. Spot, meanwhile, faced Davey, who stood slack jawed.

“You dragged us all the way here just to watch your ‘leader’ sell us out?” Spot questioned, growing angrier by the second. He definitely wasn’t quite as mad at Quinn but damn was he heated now. Lucy stood in front of the boy and attempted to tell him that they hadn’t known this would happen, but he stopped paying attention when he heard a thump followed by Quinn grunting. He turned and realized that Jack had shoved the girl back hard enough to knock her down before leaving with the money in his hand. Without another word to Davey or Lucy he hopped onstage to help her up.

“Let’s get out of here.” he grumbled. Quinn grabbed his hand and began to walk out, her face red with embarrassment and anger.

“What the fuck was that?” She hissed as the boy followed. He shook his head.

“I don’t know, I didn’t know any of that was gonna happen,” he answered with a huff, making the girl shake her head as well.

“That dirty bastard,” she grumbled “C’mon, we’re going to the refuge. For everyone, this is ridiculous.” The boy followed her without hesitation. Thunder rumbled above them shortly before a downpour began. While Spot took a moment to glance up at the sky, Quinn marched along, unfazed by the weather for now as she was too wrapped up in her anger.

They reached the large fence that surrounded the refuge in no time. Quinn nimbly jumped up, grabbing a hold of a crossing section as she pulled herself up. Once she was sitting on it, she leaned down and held out a hand for Spot.

“If you wanted to hold my hand, you could’ve just said so,” he joked in an attempt to lighten the mood, though he grabbed her hand and pulled himself up. He smiled with pride when Quinn blushed.

“I just didn’t trust that you could climb up here on your own,” she joked back before the two of them jumped down onto the other side of the fence, rendering them officially in the refuge. The boy laughed quietly then glanced up at the building, immediately noticing Oscar Delancey in one of the windows. His brows furrowed in confusion and worry.

“Hey, ain’t that Hilda’s room?” He asked, pointing up to Oscar. Quinn followed his finger, then huffed in frustration.

“Damn it, I can’t go up there with Oscar in there with her,” she muttered, then set a hand on her forehead as Oscar closed the window. “Now we really can’t get to her.”

“What do we do, then? Try to reach other kids?” He suggested, looking at her. The girl nodded, glancing across the other windows.

“We have to,” she answered decidedly, running over to another window, her feet splashing in the puddles that were forming, and starting to climb her way up the side of the building. Spot, meanwhile, opted to stay on the ground to help the kids down.

Quinn secured herself in the windowsill and told the kids to back up before kicking the bars in. She began to help kids down, starting with the smallest, picking them up and reaching them down, dropping one at a time quite a ways into Spots arms. The boy was diligent in catching the kids and carefully setting them down, instructing them to be quiet and stay against the building so they weren’t spotted.

As the kids became old enough to get down on their own, Quinn moved to the side and let them climb down on their own. She looked down and gave Spot a signal to get them out through the gates as the last few kids from that cell climbed out. He merely nodded and led everyone to the gate, lifting them over the fence so they could climb down the other side. It didn’t take long for Quinn to lead the last group of kids over to the gate.

“I think we’re clear,” she muttered as they watched the older kids climb the gate.

“Good,” Spot sighed in relief as the two of them followed after them, hopping down the other side.

“They should be on their way just fine, I had some of the older boys promise me they would help the younger kids get home,” she informed him.

“We should probably get you home then.”

“You can stay in Staten if you want, it’s a long walk to Brooklyn from here,” she offered.

“You sure? I don’t want none of your girls threatening me for being in your space” he teased, but the girl merely shook her head.

“It’ll be fine, don’t worry about them.”

“I’m trusting you here,” Spot joked as he began leading her to Staten Island, earning a laugh from the girl.

“Sure you are.” The boy hummed in thought before looking at her.

“We’ll come back for Hilda soon, but we shouldn’t do it tomorrow. Breaking into the refuge twice in a row is too risky.” Quinn nodded, glancing up at him.

“I know that. I’d get my ass handed to me by Snyder, and he does not go easy on anyone.”

“Tell me about it,” he huffed out a laugh as they approached Staten’s lodging house. “He almost broke my leg when he saw me sneaking food towards one of the kids.”

She pulled off her cap and wrung the water out of it as they made it to the stoop. She stopped and looked up at him for a moment wordlessly, her eyes lingering on his face. Spot had already been looking at her, watching her wring out her hat in silence. She was beautiful, even in the rain- in fact he’d dare say that she looked angelic in the drizzle around them. He took a step closer to her, gently cupping her cheek with one hand while his free hand grabbed hers.

“If you don’t want this, tell me,” he whispered, looking into her eyes.

She looked up at him with her doe eyes that not many people had probably seen. She opened her mouth to say something, but instead she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down into a kiss. The boy returned the kiss eagerly, tilting his head a bit as his eyes fell closed. She laced her fingers into his hair, kissing him passionately. She would’ve never guessed that she would be on the steps of her lodging home kissing the big bad leader of Brooklyn, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

After a bit he slowly pulled away to look at her. A smile appeared on his face, a look of love and complete and utter adoration in his eyes. The girl’s eyes fluttered open and she looked up at him once again.

“I didn’t take you for a romantic, I was sorely mistaken, ” she murmured.

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” he responded simply. “But I’d be glad to let you learn.” A blush settled on the girl's face, and she smirked.

“I think I might take you up on that.” That made the boy chuckle as he pressed one more kiss to her lips before pulling away.

“C’mon, I don’t want ya to catch a cold.” That made Quinn laugh.

“Big bad Scout of Staten Island doesn’t catch colds,” she retorted as she walked into the lodging home.

“Yeah well I didn’t think big bad Scout of Staten Island could fall in love, you didn’t think big bad Spot Conlon was a romantic, anything can go at this point,” he laughed as they made their way up to the loft. There were a few girls trying to catch a glimpse of them kissing out the window or going up into the loft without getting caught, but Quinn largely ignored them. Spot, meanwhile, found it funny, and instead shot them a joking wink as he followed her up. A few of them gasped and waved or giggled as they passed, and Quinn rolled her eyes, a bright shade of red as they made it to the top. She tossed her hat aside and ruffled up her hair a little.

“Never thought I’d see the day that Scout got so flustered,” Spot teased lightly. Quinn grinned, still blushing.

“I’m not flustered,” she lied.

“I don’t think your face got the memo,” the boy joked, lightly pinching her cheek. She slapped his hand away with a quiet huff.

“Maybe a little,” she admitted, stepping behind a screen to change. “But not anymore than you were out there,”

“At least I have no problem admitting it,” he laughed. “You do all sorts of things to me, Quinn.” The girl peered around the dressing screen, keeping herself covered with the exception of her bare shoulders.

“I’m sure I do,” she joked before ducking back behind it so she could pull a shirt on.

“The same way that I do things to you,” he added as he moved to stand right on the other side of the screen. Quinn was silent for a moment. She never wanted to admit that a boy was making her feel things, but she eventually spoke up.

“A little bit,” she admitted nervously, then stepped out, dressed in plaid pajama pants and a Henley shirt rolled up on her arms. Spot smiled softly.

“At least I know my efforts aren’t wasted,” he joked, wrapping an arm around her and leading her to the bed. She followed silently, ultimately flopping into bed and pulling him with her. A laugh left the boy as he fell beside her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her right against him. She laid a hand lazily on his chest and looked at him with a smile.

“Things will work out,” she said softly, referencing the strike.

“I think they will,” he agreed with a nod, kissing her forehead as a wave of exhaustion washed over them. They were asleep within minutes, still holding each other.

The Pursuit of a Simple Life: Chapter 37

Summary: Three years after returning to Earth with the other Asgardians following Ragnarok, Loki finds himself working for SHIELD, truly just trying to fight the boredom. While on an undercover mission, he unexpectedly begins to fall for his co-worker Gemma, and she seems to feel the same way…about Dave, his alter ego while in disguise. So...Loki comes home and finds Gemma in an interesting set-up.

Gemma had just finished setting up the master bedroom when she heard the door open downstairs. Her heart started to flutter as his footsteps made their way upstairs, and after looking around once more to ensure everything was ready, she took her position and waited.

The door opened, and she heard him stop and sputter. The entire master bedroom was covered in scarves, shawls, and other soft, dark fabrics. Dozens of candles lit the room with a dim, flickering glow, and the faint scent of incense - sandalwood and bergamot - wafted through the air.

And in the center of the room, kneeling down on a large fur rug (that she just so happened to come across during her little shopping spree), was Gemma, completely naked, kneeling with forehead to the floor, her hair flowing down to the ground, ass in the air and hands folded on the rug in front of her.

She bit her lip to keep from giggling - she was trying to “set the mood” - then took a deep breath and spoke smoothly, quietly, lustfully, keeping her face hidden.

“Welcome, my Prince. I have been chosen by the Elders to bear your heir. I am at your command, sire.”

top five esoteric pieces of celebrity drama ?

oh this one is so good ty!!

in no particular order, but the first one has obviously been on my mind!

1. Robbie Williams versus “britpop”. literally every beef he has had with a britpop boy is golden.

robbie’s and oasis’s 20+??? year beef at this point is the stuff of legends and I can’t get into all of it but like? it’s got everything! drunk dancing at glastonbury, iconic kissing pictures, their former friendship possibly playing a role in the take that breakup, the whole feud starting just because noel decided to open his mouth and call robbie “the fat dancer from take that”, stolen fiancés and the dissolution of a marriage, multiple songs that could be about the whole thing, a funeral wreath with “To Noel Gallagher, RIP. Heard your latest album – with deepest sympathy, Robbie Williams” (the drama of that one!) sent to oasis after the release of standing on the shoulder of giants, general on-going fatshaming and a little sprinkle of homophobia from the oasis camp (the “this ones for robbie, as usual, understands the letter q” at the 2000 q awards being the most notable), boxing match challenges as brit awards speeches, a very funny statement released by oasis about not “condoning violence” (lmao) after this that I can’t find right now, some of noel gallagher’s cruelest insults (this one cutting robbie and my mentally ill ass real deep) for some reason (one involving a gun and uhhh yeah), robbie putting the whole thing down to just wanting to fuck liam, and mentions of a theoretical throple involving himself kylie minogue and liam gallagher, and so much more that I can’t even recall off the top of my head. although there has been some minor reconciliation???? perhaps? also that time liam referred to robbie as a “whore carol singer” and robbie responded is...a moment

also I just love him basically giving no opinion of blur besides the fact they were all middle class assholes to him, PARTICULARLY alex james, the cheese tory bass player.

you can even make the argument that the success of robbie and pop acts like him is what killed britpop or atleast put the final nail in the coffin which makes all of this even more iconic!

honorable mention related to robbie because the humor is more about how fans reacted than the drama itself: that time in 2018 on X Factor that Robbie Williams said Louis Tomlinson didn’t know what camp wasand made some joke about camp not existing in Doncaster (where louis is from) because he was mean about dance club queen janice robinson’s performance, and directioners (well larries) started calling robbie “homophobic” because he was mean? to louis? a straight man? and classist because gay people do live in Doncaster, even though Robbie himself is also from a working class background and place? It was a lot. (there are posts about this I swear, just look in the robbie tag on this site but I don’t feel like finding them so take my word for it).

2. I can’t get enough of literally anything involving Chrissie Hynde and Ray Davies and their drama whirlpool of a relationship. like the fact they had their house senanced because they thought it was ghosts giving their relationship it’s bad vibes? his brother Dave hating her ON SIGHT for some reason, like its all too much for me and also all so nebulous. love it!

3. This one is so esoteric it’s barely drama or a beef but god I love this Courtney Love quote about Julian Casablancas’ little rich “my dad owned one of the biggest modeling firms in the world am I went to boarding school” ass

4. this one is not remotely niche or esoteric but literally every bit of drama that occurred between Tiffany Pollard and Gemma Collins on celebrity big brother....like this is the blueprint for funny reality show drama. I just feel Iike I can’t make a drama list without mentioning it. It’s just required viewing.

5. if you wanna get REAL niche, all the drama that occurred on The Glee Project (specifically season 1) that only me, my friends and like five other people have ever watched. Lindsay versus Ellis?? When Cameron walked? (literally all of this is niche enough that I can only find fan videos and no real clips, and the only reason my friends and I are able to still watch it is because one of them tormented it in like 2012) it’s all burned into my brain!!

Now for my ideal Terminator sequel and end to the series. Terminator:Resistance. In the beginning of the movie, it is revealed that a part of the T-800 is was still in the factory in the fight against the T-1000. That’s why a Terminator is still sent back to kill John. Sarah will sacrifice herself to save John. John realizes that it’s inevitable, that Skynet is inevitable. So John begins to train himself from his teens to adulthood and recruit for The Resistance. However John was indeed right, Skynet is inevitable. Miles Dyson had a lot of backers in the Military for Skynet, so one way or another, Skynet is coming. John will bring together 5 key members for The Resistance and Skynet will send 5 Terminators will hunt them all before John can fulfill his mission of shutting down Skynet on the eve of judgement day.
