Do you have any recommendations of books, movies, or shows that feature a fictional character who you'd consider to be submissive?
This is such a fun ask! I have quite a few recommendations but I'll stick with a lesser-known one for now. The first movie that comes to mind is a (rare?) German film called Lila Lila.
Lila Lila is a fun and charming romcom whose main character David Kern is actually too adorable for his own good. David is a sweetie and I would date this subby boy in a heartbeat. Unfortunately for him, the plot is centered around his increasingly questionable decisions that he makes in order to impress the girl he’s crushing on.
Tumblr media
I stumbled across this film while making my way through Daniel Bruhl’s extensive filmography. The movie is in German but it has English subtitles (bless). Anyways, if you’re interested, the link will take you to the free version on youtube!
Featuring:
questionable decisions
unexpected plot
midnight ice skating date
awkward flirting
books and literature
chaotic characters

Cinema of Trangression. p1
Where Evil Dwells
Tommy Turner, David Wojnarowicz. U.S, 1985, 28 min
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Where Evil Dwells

CINEMA OF TRANSGRESSION
Over the course of my future posts, I will suggest that you discover or review the films of the Cinema of Transgression - "Cinema Of Transgression", subversive, chaotic and depraved, essential to the scenes of the No-Wave movement of the 80s and underground cinema. New Yorker.
Key transgressive filmmakers, including Nick Zedd, Richard Kern, Casandra Stark, Beth B, Tommy Turner, Tessa Hughes-Freeland, and others like Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman and David Wojnarowicz, along the lines of pop-trash 'Andy Warhol of course, by Paul Morissey, Jack Smith, George & Mike Kuchar, or John Waters and many others.
IIustrations, performances, rare and often sounds disturbing, Cinema of Transgression is a chaotic and spontaneous, sexual, marginal, brutal and stillborn movement. Nothing you can't ignore.
Beware all the same it will shake! Keep the fragile ones away.
These are not films to summarize. But to watch
Here are the first two for today. (Second one follows in another post)
Originally titled, Satan Teens, Where Evil Dwells is an unfinished collaboration with Tommy Turner. In September 1985, Wojnarowicz and Turner began writing a script based on a 1984 report on Long Island about a teenage boy worshiping Satan committing murder. The script took three nights. Ricky Kasso, the chief abuser of PCP, murdered his 17-year-old friend Gary Lauwers in Northport, Long Island by stabbing him repeatedly and tearing out his eyes. Kasso bragged about the murder, showing Lauwers incredulous friends breaking down the body, while claiming that Satan had approved. He was eventually arrested and hanged himself in prison before his 18th birthday. Wojnarowicz and Turner not only found the humorous but also symbolic story of the generation
The film was originally filmed on an 8mm Canon camera, which Turner borrowed from Richard Kern. Although Turner claims that the audio and images were lost in a fire, Fales Library and Special Collections has two reels of Super 8mm film directly from the original camera. The film can be viewed with original audio fragments, including voiceovers spoken through a Howdy Doody doll and Wiseblood's song Where Evil Dwells.
Jim Thirlwell, at the time a leader of the group Wiseblood and known as the leader of the industrial metal group Fetus, offered his song to Ricky Kasso for use in the film, provided that the title of the song is also the film title, Where Evil Dwells.

Rosalind Russell and Norma Shearer in The Women (George Cukor, 1939)
Cast: Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Mary Boland, Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine, Phyllis Povah, Virginia Weidler, Marjorie Main. Screenplay: Anita Loos, Jane Murfin, based on a play by Clare Boothe Luce. Cinematography: Oliver T. Marsh, Joseph Ruttenberg. Art direction: Cedric Gibbons. Film editing: Robert Kern. Music: David Snell, Edward Ward.
Despite the novelty of its all-female cast, George Cukor's film flunks the Bechdel test completely: All the women in The Women talk about is men. They don't talk about their jobs because they don't have them: They circulate in a world of cocktail parties, kaffeeklatsches, spas, and venues for shopping. The one exception is Crystal Allen (Joan Crawford), who to my mind becomes the film's real heroine with her resigned "back to the perfume counter" final speech after she receives her comeuppance. Say what you will about Crystal, and the characters in The Women have plenty to say about her, she has a spine and a pretty solid view that the world is still there for her taking by any means necessary. Of course, the nominal heroine is poor Mary (Mrs. Stephen) Haines (Norma Shearer), who gets the final soft-focus scene as, dewy-eyed, she heads off to reconcile with her husband. I want to be a little more generous to Shearer than some have been: She has been given a thankless role -- generous, self-effacing, motherly to a fault -- and is upstaged not only  by a formidable adversary but also a surrounding cast of colorful, wisecracking characters, from Rosalind Russell's bumptious, overdressed gossip to Paulette Goddard's wryly tough chorus girl on the make to Mary Boland's relentless serial divorcee. We are supposed to root for Mary, but why? This is where I think the gimmick, the all-female cast, does Shearer, a disservice. If we actually met Stephen Haines, we might have some clue as to why Mary takes so long to kick him out and then is so delighted to rush to his Crystal-stained arms at the film's end. Shearer is forced to play a role without a motive other than blindly enduring love. That she does it as well as she can gives her some default points, but for most of of the film she has to rely on Shearerisms: chin up, eyes moist, shoulders back. The character comes to life only at the end when Mary decides to fight back by marshaling all the dirty tricks she has been taught, and Shearer is fun to watch as she plays them. Still, her triumph over Crystal is only the product of a tired dramatic formula. Crawford's performance mops the floor with the rest of the cast and earns our respect for Crystal with her delivery of the famous exit line: "There a name for you ladies, but it isn't used in high society ... outside of a kennel. So long, ladies!" Everything else is anticlimax. Cukor gives the film great energy, though the adaptation by Anita Loos and Jane Murfin of the Clare Boothe Luce play (with uncredited help from F. Scott Fitzgerald and Donald Ogden Stewart) is so full of would-be zingers that they begin to get a little tiresome. Sadly, the only respite from the non-stop bitchery is to introduce another weepy scene between Mary and her mother (Lucile Watson) or her daughter (Virginia Weidler). At two hours and 13 minutes, The Women seems at least 13 minutes overlong.

Tory Lanez has been transported from jail to a California state prison to begin his 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
The 31-year-old rapper is now housed at the North Kern State Prison in Delano, about 35 miles north of Bakersfield. He was transferred from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department custody to the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at 10:22 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the online jail roster.
North Kern is a medium-security facility that serves as reception center for new inmates in the California state prison. Lanez likely will be there for a few months before being assigned to a permanent location.
Here’s his new inmate photo:
Lanez was credited for 305 days already served when he was sentenced on Aug. 8, so he’s up to approximately 353 days served, which is 12 days shy of a year.
if you want to read the entire transcript of the sentencing Megann has graciously provided it here
when you take a moment and you read this it is just disgusting. Tory Lanez is a piece of shit and quite frankly anybody who supported him is just the same
Goodbye lil creep. hope you find out what happens to guys like you on the other side of those bars.

hiiiie! prompt/request time
I think this would be interesting to see how a bunch of different characters would react/act in this scenario (ex. Niki, Laszlo, Zemo etc.)
Their reaction to a partner commenting/prasing their facial hair choice (if that makes sense) ex. reader suggests they grow out a beard/shave clean
ok so this one is kinda confusing but I just love facial hair {or lack of in some cases} its such a neat feature and this first gif made me think things
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cat you are literally the only person requesting things from me right now and I love you for it, keep it coming queen.
HCs: The Danny Bunch and Facial Hair
Zemo:
Zemo is definitely more clean-shaven, but like we saw with prison Zemo, he can still have a bit of scruff at times. He'd love it if you praised his clean-shaven look or ran your hands along his smooth cheeks, because I feel like he's the one most likely to put a lot of time and effort into his appearance. He'd not only groom his facial hair, but he'd also put on one of his fancy colognes and use some yummy smelling aftershave. He'd immediately be in love if you complimented how nice he looked or how good he smelled. At times, though, when he's been on a mission or just hasn't had access to a proper razor and mirror, he'll grow some scruff. Maybe even a full on beard. I think it might make him feel a bit unkempt if it goes on too long, but if you say something about liking his beard/scruff, he'd preen and enjoy it.
Laszlo:
Laszlo is a beard king. He keeps it very nice, well-groomed, in the fashionably acceptable way that society had at the time. He would loove to have his beard stroked, to have you run your fingers through it. Any kind of facial touches and he melts right into a puddle of love, wanting to stay there and have you touch him for as long as you want. If you praise his facial hair at all, and I mean like at all, he will maybe blush at first and get kinda shy, but then he'd want to use it as an excuse for you to hold him and pet his cheeks for hours. Laszlo's so touch-starved and will do anything for you to touch and praise him. Not to mention he loves having his beard stroked during kisses as you draw him in closer.
Niki:
Niki is definitely clean shaven. If he ever had any kind of scruff, he'd want to shave it right off. Especially if someone mentioned that he was growing even the smallest bit of facial hair, he'd cut it off. I just see him being very pristine in that way and liking to keep his appearance nice. It also must feel better to not have sweaty nastiness in a beard after racing on a long, hot day. But if you gave him even the smallest compliment on his appearance, especially on a facial feature other than his overbite, he'd internally be a flustered mess because no one really tells him he looks good.
Andrea:
Andrea is a clean-shaven baby. He'd blush when you coo about how you want to pinch his cheeks, or smoosh his cute little face. Honestly I think Andrea blushes really prettily, and his pink cheeks are so adorable. He likes any kind of facial touches or when you stroke the side of his cheek with your thumb. Any praises to his appearance and he'll be an excited a little puppy begging you for attention.
Ernst:
I feel like Ernst has a range and could go either go full beard, scruff, or clean-shaven. Scruff probably most of the time, because he likes to keep himself looking nice and tidy but he usually gets caught up in his work and forgets to shave some days. You would have to remind him to shave. Like during the day, he'd be working on some part of the ship, all focused, and then you'd just pull him in for a quick kiss and smile and say "you need a shave," as you hold his cheeks. He'd blink in a sort of daze and nod, but probably would forget again.
Alex Garel:
Oh Alex is a facial hair king. This Spanish boy knows how to do beards right. Alex has fluffy, unkempt hair. It's always mussed from him (or you) running hands through it while he's working. It gives him a very soft look. He keeps up with his beard and also enjoys your hands running through it, especially when you're kissing or cuddling. 10/10 kissable scruff. Very soft. If you compliment him on it, he'll smile and work to keep it nice for you.
Sebastian Zollner:
Ah yes, Sebastian. He's a chaotic mess and his facial hair would be the same. Most of the time, it's untamed scruff. He really tries to keep it clean shaven, but fails. I feel like he'd think the scruff looks sexy, which is true, but he usually doesn't keep up with it. If you compliment his beard, he'll smirk and wink all saucy like "oh, I bet you like it," but then you'll remind him that you hope he doesn't keep the unkempt druggie look for too long.
Alex Kerner:
Alex is very much like Andrea. Squish his cheeks, tell him his face looks cute, and he's a happy boy. Nothing more to say.
David Kern:
Like Alex and Andrea, David is a baby boy with no facial hair. David doesn't really do this for style or anything, it's just how he's always kept his hair. Plus, he loves it when you put your hands on his cheeks and he can feel the warmth of your palms. He likes that and will never grow a beard.
Konrad Koch:
Konrad has some of the most epic facial hair I've ever seen. That man can pull off any beard, goatee, moustache, etc. and still look good. He'd be really playful and silly and would enjoy you giving him new ideas to try for facial hair. He loves compliments from anyone, especially if it's you.
