I always had this question in mind. Are Dean fan girls really the reason why we didn't get to see more of Dean and Jo together because that feels like an exaggeration. I mean I love Dean but I would have totally loved it if Dean ended up with Jo or at least for them to form a deeper connection.
No, fangirls are not the reason why neither Sam nor Dean have girlfriends. Robert Singer and Jensen like to blame fangirls but Sera Gamble had claimed otherwise, that fans are actually in favor of brothers having their own relationships.
Trust me, you all don’t have as much power as you think you do other than a few minutes of fanserving.
Former CW president Dawn Ostroff wanted regular female characters on SPN as she was trying to turn CW into a female-oriented network and she made it no secret that she hated the testosterone-loaded SPN. But Supernatural is not even built for additional male characters outside of Sam and Dean. Hello, they killed off John Winchester. Hello, 12 seasons of plot-device Castiel. Romance was never going to be in the cards for either Sam or Dean because SPN was a modern Western where the good guys on (steel) mares go from town to town to rid it of evil and baddies. Think back to your dad’s favorite spaghetti Westerns and could you honestly tell me that there were regular female characters or romances until the last season? It was never in the cards for Sam and Dean until maaaaaaybe the last season but we all know what happened, the right ending.

Interesting tidbits from my deep dive:
• rumors about Danneel being banned from SPN set dating as far back as 2008
• Neil Patrick Harris hated Danneel, apparently she was a huge bitch behind the scenes on both How I Met Your Mother (she was in one episode, s4e5, which aired in 2008) and the Harold and Kumar movies (she played Kumar’s girlfriend and had a small role in all three movies)
• Danneel bullying extras and other cast members (only girls of course) on the set of OTH. These rumors date all the way back to her very first appearance (season 3) in 2005, so pre Jensen meaning her stans can’t really attribute the rumors to jealousy
• Rumors about Danneel hating Gen // being jealous of her dating all the way back to 2009. Not shocking given that neither of them attended each others wedding and didn’t really start interacting until J+D moved to Austin, but I was a little surprised because for a few years (2015/16 until the end of SPN) it seemed like people were dead set on the narrative that they were friends
• Finally found those lesbian rumors! Dating back to 2008, people were convinced that she was dating Elizabeth Harnois because she brought EH with her everywhere (notably to the My Bloody Valentine Premiere and on a trip to Australia with Jensen) and EH has been a rumored lesbian for a very long time. Found a taptalk board about closeted lesbian actresses from 2013 and EH was a very big topic (and beloved by lesbians apparently). I wasn’t even aware that EH was famous enough to garner that kind of attention
And weirdly enough, the most interesting tidbits didn’t involve Danneel at all. The first is pretty relevant given how often Jensen has been speaking about all the opportunities he missed due to SPN, and the answer is apparently not that many. He wanted to break into the movie scene and film during SPN’s break from filming, but was unsuccessful and not happy about it. Would try out for things/have his name thrown out there, and wasn’t getting anything back which caused a rift between him and his agent. Jared on the other hand apparently had a decent amount of offers, specifically for action movies. Notable roles were lead role in Conan the Barbarian (2011) and Poseidon in The Immortals (2011). Inclined to believe this rumor based on a few factors. The rumor about off season work for J2 was posted back in 2009, and the poster claimed to work for the CW. All of their other posts (mostly about Gossip Girl and Dawn Ostroff who was the president of the CW at the time) have proven to be true, so I don’t think they would randomly lie about this one thing. Then you have Jared himself, who really bulked up in seasons 4-6 of SPN and had the perfect action hero physique. Why put in all that work unless you’re prepping for potential roles?
The second rumor is something that I had never heard before, and it’s about Jensen. It’s something that I think a lot of people don’t want to hear/are going to push back against, so I want to do a bit more research before bringing it back out of obscurity. The Ackles really do love to bury things…
A little disclaimer, all of this is obviously gossip and with all gossip we have to take things with a grain of salt. And for those that are curious, I found all of this information on old livejournal boards, datalounge threads, now defunct fan forums and blogs. Obviously these places aren’t great sources and won’t be passing any academic scrutiny, but gossip isn’t the most regulated field. I had to sift through a lot of J2 timhatting and obvious fanfiction, but there were some gems. My process for whether or not something was legitimate enough to include was how often it’s been mentioned throughout the years, what point in the timeline it was introduced, if someone was claiming to have insider have their claims been proven true in the years leading up to now, if any proof was attached, how biased the post was (if it was clearly a Jensen/Jared stan trying to discredit or take down the other I wrote it off), and my own discerning eye for potential truths (I’ve worked in archives, have a degree in history, am currently working on my masters and have been honing my gossip researching/lie detecting skills since I read my first tabloid as a preteen).
Her set track record matches her lack of credits currently. People don't want to work with arrogant actors. My guess is she burned a lot of bridges by acting like a b and also by acting badly, let's face it she has no talent and no technique so her career only went as far as her fake boobs took her.
Really curious about the Jensen part now, if you feel like sharing please know I can keep the secret.
Thank you for sharing all of that, I loved reading it and I love how you wisely added a disclaimer to it as well.

Get ready for Case 63, a new scripted podcast starring Oscar Isaac and Julianne Moore that will be premiering next tomorrow!
In the show, New York psychiatrist Dr. Eliza Knight (Academy Award winner Julianne Moore) begins treating Peter Ryder, a patient registered as Case 63 (Emmy nominee Oscar Isaac) who claims to be from the year 2062. What begins as routine therapeutic sessions quickly turns into a story that threatens the boundaries of the possible and the real.
All 10 episodes of Case 63 will drop next Tuesday, October 25, exclusively on @spotify.
Case 63 is produced by Spotify’s Gimlet studio, Moore’s production company FortySixty and Isaac’s Mad Gene Media. The series is directed by Mimi O’Donnell and produced by Katie Pastore. Moore and Isaac serve as executive producers alongside Spotify’s O’Donnell, Dawn Ostroff and Julie McNamara. The Chilean (Spanish-language) podcast that Case 63 is based upon, Caso 63, was created and originally written by Julio Rojas.

I think it says something when you have a platoon of producers, good number of notable guests, yet you still flop and essentially get fired before even thinking about another season of the podcast. This confirms too that Spotify massaged the numbers, her squad as well tried to manipulate the number of plays per episode too. Also cements the fact that employees are in a revolving door, and she must be difficult to work with.
Notice how they always make a huge deal when they hire someone but only comment on someone leaving when the press finds out.
They have lost more staff in the 5 years they have been married than most corporations.
Here is a list of who worked on the Serena Williams episode which I am counting 23 people.

I do wonder what the major factor holding Sera Gamble back as showrunner on SPN was. Inexperience? Dawn Ostroff? Bob Singer? Because, while I'm very "meh" on her tenure as SPN showrunner, her work as showrunner on You has been nothing short of amazing.

The Fifth Element

by candygramme
The world is being menaced by Evil, and only one person can save it. Fortunately he has help!
This is not a story for the faint of heart. There were so many opportunities to lampoon, that I really didn't know where to begin – and if you read then you will certainly notice that I didn't have the sense to know when to stop! All I can say is that I am deeply sorry.
In here you will find a villain the likes of which has never been seen before. You will find a hero of truly monumental ability, and a being who is just about perfect. You will find character death, bravery in the face of impossible odds and a variety of TV heroes past and present, from Star Trek to the X-files and beyond.
I wish to reassure readers that no Tom Wellings were harmed during the making of this movie. It was all done with smoke and mirrors. He will be fine, I promise.
My thanks go to spoonlessone for her stellar beta, and for the way she joyfully joined in the silliness. I also wish to thank the script writer of the Fifth Element, and tinkabell007, whose words I frequently stole. The story was written in 2008.

Is there something to this karma stuff? by u/Mickleborough
Is there something to this karma stuff? At a very high level - karma is a concept in Buddhism and Hinduism concerning cause and effect, specifically an individual's: good deeds result in reward; bad deeds attract bad outcomes.Let's examine the evidence:- March 2020: The Sussexes abandoned their royal duties to arrive in California to ride the wave of celebrity - who wouldn’t be keen to rub shoulders with royalty? But they arrived in the midst of a global pandemic, in which life was shut down. The last global pandemic was the Hong Kong Flu outbreak of 1968. (NB It's debatable as to which was the last great pandemic before covid - I'll leave this to those with an interest to thrash out.).- June 2023: Spotify lays off a further 200 people in its podcasting division after announcing a 6% staff in January 2023 (which saw the departure of Dawn Ostroff, chief content and advertising business officer who had headed the podcast division and had signed on the Sussexes). This downturn possibly contributed to the Sussexes’ contract being terminated; Spotify’s financial situation may have led them to avoid paying the full amount of the contract. In 2021 - just under 2 years ago - Spotify had invested nearly $1 billion in podcasting. Ostroff had said that Spotify expected podcasting to be worth $20 billion. This implied that Spotify was in podcasting for the long haul.- July 2023: American actors and writers go strike. Apparently the Sussexes have various projects with Netflix, but that inevitably involves actors and writers. The last time both actors and writers went on strike was in 1960. 1980 was the last actors’ strike. Each of these looks like once-in-a-lifetime event. But for all to occur? It does look like some being has it in for the Sussexes… However, no deity could’ve been responsible for other things which brought them down:- The ‘f***ing grifters’ work attitude. Lockdown would’ve been perfect for building a podcasting fan base - although of course the quality had to be there to begin with.- The ill-judged near catastrophic pap chase - whatever possessed them to come up with such an unnecessary, stupid story? This has led to greater focus, by more people, on all of their other unnecessary, stupid stories. post link: https://ift.tt/J1lKLFD author: Mickleborough submitted: July 17, 2023 at 09:31PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

Hello how are you?
I wanted to ask, do you think that a spin-off of the son of Sam would have had the desired success compared to The Winchester?
Should the CW run a new supernatural spin-off as a show for men like Supernatural was in its early days and not for horny middle-aged women who just want to watch two straight white men get fucked?
I think it could.  For years I wanted Sam to have a kid to carry on the WInchester legacy and I’m certain a good chunk of the general audience did too.  A sequel ( a real one, not that retconned thing-that-shall-not-be-mentioned) would be a natural progression that audiences generally expect.
The spinoff could follow what Dean II is doing, if he is living a civilian life or a hunter life.  If he’s not  hunter but has knowledge of the supernatural maybe he re-opens the MOL bunker for other hunters.  If Jared and Jensen doesn’t visibly age a great deal they could make appearances as flashbacks and showing how the new heaven works and what Sam and Dean is doing up there.
Supernatural was made for men into its latter seasons as well, it's why the female side characters continue to be attractive looking, Dean continue to hide from his emotion, and there were very little focus on romance. It was former CW president Dawn Ostroff who wanted SPN to appeal more to women because she was trying to turn CW into a female-oriented network, and she made it no secret that she hated the testosterone-loaded Supernatural. Dawn was eventually fired but her effort was moot anyway because Supernatural wasn't even built for additional male characters outside of Sam and Dean. Hello, they killed off John Winchester. Hello, 12 seasons of plot-device Castiel. SPN was a modern Western where the good guys on (steel) mares go from town to town to rid it of evil and baddies.
