🐚 Thursday 18|04|24 🌊
Hi guys! I have to surrender to the fact that I'm not well, I think it's because after graduation I'm releasing both the adrenaline and the tension, all the stress held in the last year and particularly in the last few months, so now my body is letting go and I have to give him time and a way to find balance.
I'm trying not to wrap my head around it, take things as they come, do what makes me feel good and not get too angry if I can't do something; I try to pamper myself and take care of my psychophysical well-being, I drink a lot of herbal teas for example or I read and this is doing me good.
It's hard to relax when you're not used to it, it always seems, at least to me, like I'm wasting time that I could have used differently, that's not the case obviously, but maybe I should learn to relax without feeling guilty.

• 9/100 days of productivity
Todays was very productive. I did math, chemistry and physics.
Physics seriously needs some practice and work. Upcoming week, I need to sit down once and try to grasp the theories on forces as that’s the foundation.
But chemistry went amazing. I’m 1/5th done with the exam preparation.

The "Alt" NaNoWriMo Challenge
I'm a big fan of NaNoWriMo and the energy the event breathes into the writing community. Hundreds of thousands of people start working on their novels at the same time. Lots of people share their progress and cheer each other on. Several now-famous authors have started their best-selling novels during NaNo over the years.
That said, it's not for everyone. Writing 50,000 words per month is a serious commitment. Doing it alongside school or work is no joke. In fact, most people who sign up don't finish. According to these stats, only 1-2 out of every 10 participants complete the challenge.
I've never joined NaNoWriMo myself. I'm a slow writer, and I know that I would burn out. Instead, I set a different writing-related challenge for myself every November.
In 2018, I started reading one short story every day. It turned into a regular habit, and I ended up reading hundreds of short stories over the following few months.
Last year, I wanted to build a 30-day writing streak. In the end, I wrote for 232 days in a row. 2023 became the most productive year of my writing life by far with over 250,000 words written.
This year, I will be doing something similar, and I want to invite you to come along for the ride.
The Idea of "AltNaNo"
The idea of finishing a novel in a month seems outrageous to most people. That's what makes it so compelling. It's like standing at the foot of a snowcapped mountain with a rope and a couple of ice picks. The challenge itself is inspiring.
The AltNaNo challenge is the exact opposite. The goal is as small as possible on purpose. The focus isn't to achieve this massive feat but to squash all excuses and merely start writing.
You may not be able to write 50,000 words in a month. But almost everyone can find 15 minutes to write every day.
The Challenge
Tumblr media
The goal is simple: Write for at least 15 minutes every day in November.
Writing 100 words and calling it a day after 15 minutes is a success.
Spending longer and writing 500 words is a success.
Wrestling with a difficult scene for 15 minutes and writing only a single sentence is a success.
Spending 15 minutes trying to write after a long day and not producing a single word is a success, too.
Be a tortoise. We all know how the story goes.
How to Join
I've set up daily challenges for the first week in Writing Analytics, if you wanted to join us there:
Day 1/30 ✅
Day 2/30 ✅
Day 3/30 ✅
Day 4/30 ✅
Day 5/30 ✅
Day 6/30 ✅
Day 7/30 ✅
I'll be posting daily updates on the blog as well.
PS: If you'd like to learn more about developing a writing habit, check out this free course I launched a few weeks ago.

Zodiac Legacy Challenge
Welcome to the Zodiac Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4. This challenge was created entirely by me, @liisims, with the help of information from the internet and inspiration from the people around me. The challenge is based on the 12 zodiac signs, with each generation representing one zodiac sign.
Rules:
- Play with a normal lifespan.
- While I don’t recommend using money cheats, it’s up to you.
- The heir can be any gender (for simplicity, a female heir is used as an example).
- Complete the aspiration, max out the career, and achieve the max level in all listed skills unless instructed otherwise.
- Utilize the specified traits; their order doesn’t matter.
- The suggested number of children is a guideline, reflecting my vision for each generation. It’s not obligatory; feel free to interpret it as you wish.
- If you share anything related to the challenge (screenshots, gameplay, etc.) on Tumblr, use the hashtag #zodiacliisims .
I recommend reading at least one generation ahead before starting the challenge. For instance, if you’re currently on generation 1, make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules and description for both generation 1 and 2. This is particularly helpful as it often provides insights into how the current generation grew up. Of course, how you play is entirely up to you!
My love for challenges started by watching Clare Siobhan play the amazing not so berry challenge from @lilsimsie and @alwaysimming . When I looked more into other challenges I realized I wanted to create my own, and well here I am now! Sharing my first challenge. Before creating this challenge I made sure to look at no other zodiac inspired challenge as I wanted it to be 100% my own. Disclaimer: this is based on some things from the internet and people I know irl. Take it with a grain of salt! Enjoy!
Generation One: Aries
You’re a career driven overachiever. You love fitness, like LOVE. You can barely go a day without some physical activity. Day 14/100 productivity challenge
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good morning, my favourite studyblr community!
31th of december of 2023. Today I started studying at 4 am. I am currently studying Pathophysiology and I show you in the pictures how I blurt and correct with red. This technique has been a game changer in order to memorize things and exactly revise what I tend to forget. Last night I went to the city to whitness the beauty of the Christmas lights. It was family time, it also felt like a fresh air breeze for the soul, which is also important for motivation. I went with my mom and my cousin.
Today's study tips ✨✍🏽🪄🧠
The night before: plan ahead your next day with real goals. Chunk the topics and subtopics.
Use the first two hours after waking up to make the most difficult task (e.g. the subject that is harder or longer).
Create a mind-mip in the difficult topics of your study session and revise it after two hours.
Use flashcards!
Have a wonderful end of the year, a blessed and productive day! Iveth.

Melsie’s Sims 4 World Map
Many months ago (well before Growing Together came out) I teased a world map I was working on... but never actually ended up posting the finished product. I’ve FINALLY polished it, and even added where I thought San Sequoia might be located.
I thought I’d share it with you guys and explain a bit how my map will end up influencing my gameplay.
Tumblr media
Here we have a full map view with all of the different continents. Every grid square is 20 miles (32km).
Under the cut there will be a grid-less option too, as well as a written list of all the worlds in each continent. Feel free to use either map for your own gameplay or if you want to incorporate it in your challenge rules! Just make sure to give me credit and maybe link my Simblr! Thanks in advance and happy simming!
I use Kuttoe’s Home Regions mod and have configured the settings so that NPC sims can only show up in worlds that are located within their specific continent. Clearly some worlds will be a lot more populated than others, but I think it’ll still be a very interesting way to play!
For my current legacy challenge (Vega Legacy) my active sims will have no specific rule as to where they can travel, but I will try to keep the traveling to a minimum: once a day if they stay on the same continent, and once a week for worlds that are on different continents.
I previously intended for sims to pay 100 simoleons per grid square traveled (200 simoleons if it’s an ocean square) and will probably still do that eventually... once my legacy founder has funds to spare.
Tumblr media
I’m also providing a grid-less option for those of you that prefer a sleeker look and don’t care about the specific distance between places.
Continent 1
Willow Creek
Newcrest
San Sequoia
Copperdale
Granite Falls
Moonwood Mill
Magnolia Promenade
Brindleton Bay
Continent 2
Henford-on-Bagley
Britechester
Windenburg
Continent 3
Glimmerbrook
Forgotten Hollow
Continent 4
Selvadorada
Tartosa
Continent 5
Oasis Springs
Strangeville
Del Sol Valley
Continent 6
Sulani
Continent 7
Mt. Komorebi
San Myshuno

One Piece Live Action Review
Now that I've had time to watch and digest all the episodes it's time to discuss how I feel about the adaptation. This break down will be full of spoilers, so read at your own risk.
One Piece Live Action is good, actually.
Live action anime adaptations have a tendency to be soulless cash grabs that either don't give a shit about the source material or bank too much on just showing things the fans recognizes in place of an actual story.
OPLA loves the source material. It is clear that this production is a celebration of the manga series. The easter eggs and small nods to the series are not just there to make you point at the screen and say "There's the Thing!" They are apart of the world. Taking a note from Oda's writing to make the world of OPLA fill just as rich as the manga.
However, it is not a one for one recreation of the East Blue saga. How could it be? It would be impossible to take ~100 chapters of story and cram it into an 8 hour tv show season without it being a powerpoint of Luffy's Greatest Hits.
The story had to be changed to fit the medium and the pacing. Overall, I think the pacing is good and the changes made are for the better. But it's not perfect.
Episode 1 (aka mostly Zoro's intro):
Of the entire season, this was the weakest episode in my opinion. It had the most to introduce which is quite a challenge and it does so fairly well, but there are changes made here that I'm just not a fan of and I believe make the story weaker.
Zoro's introduction being changed to his face off with Mr. 7 is fine. It shows us him praying for Kuina, him being sassy to a bad guy, and ultimately him killing Mr. 7. Awesome start!
Unfortunately, we suffer when we cut to Zoro at Shells Town. He's only tied and imprisoned for a day, if that. And that's not even where Luffy first sees him. Instead, Luffy first sees Zoro at a bar starting a fight. Taking away the impact of him seeing Zoro's strong will after being tied up for days.
And it gets worse... Luffy just let's Zoro out, no strings attached and Zoro fetches his own swords. It takes away from the charm of the original scene where Luffy (a little bastard) blackmails Zoro into joining his crew to get his swords back. This change takes away two things: a showcase that Luffy is willing to be a stubborn shit to get what he wants and Zoro's willingness to give up his resolve because Luffy kept his word and brought him his swords.
While we're here, time for a Zoro tangent;
I'm really not a fan of how the character was adapted. This is not Zoro, this is some smug, emotionless samurai. All the beats were there. There were references to him being lost and a few jokey moments, but they are all delivered in the same monotone. Rarely is this Zoro shown to emote. Nor does he ever get to be goofy because YES! Roronoa Zoro can goofy. He's just a teenager in the East Blue saga, and yet OPLA plays him like he's alcoholic Batman.
Tumblr media
Episode 2:
Oooh boy, give it up for episode 2! And Buggy, my little meow meow Buggy! I love him <3
As for the episode, the change from having Buggy being some shitty pirate just camped nearby and annoying the village to being a pirate who enslaved the village into being his audience was excellent! It's so fucked up and campy and even more fucked up.
Buggy's desires are for attention and fame. He wants what Shanks has and yet he's still stuck in the East Blue, desperate for a map that he can't get his own greedy hands on.
Buggy was such a stand out character in OPLA. I love Buggy in general and this version is a bit different than the pathetic Buggy we love from the manga, but he is like a evil cartoon villain chewing the scenery! I'm so glad they roped him into the plot to keep him throughout the season.
Tumblr media
Episodes 3 & 4:
These are fine. Some people aren't fans of the changes and yeah, I agree taking away a lot of Usopp's agency sucks. It really doesn't feel like this is Usopp's arc, more like that he's just some guy who happens to be there.
But I was never a huge fan of the Syrup Village arc. I felt like it was poorly paced in the anime and the changes made at least kept the story condensed and Kuro's plan seemed more well thought out.
Biggest highlight of these episodes was Usopp! Jacob Romero does an amazing job at bringing the character to screen. He has so much charisma that it's hard not to smile when he's in a scene.
Tumblr media
Episodes 5 & 6:
Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE the Baratie arc! And this adaptation... is fine. Much like how Usopp is an after thought in his arc, Sanji is sidelined here to make room for PLOT.
Changing the Big Bad who threatens Baratie from Don Krieg to Arlong is a great choice. Don Krieg was always a lame, forgettable villain, so having Arlong show up to help push the plot towards the next arc is smart.
Much like Zoro's introduction, I'm not happy with Sanji's either. Specifically with how he meet Luffy. The scene where Sanji is the crew's waiter and has to fight some rowdy pirates is charming. But then Luffy say, "He's a great fighter." and UGGGHHHHHH
Luffy does NOT recruit Sanji for his strength. Nor does he recruit him for his cooking abilities. He recruits him because he is KIND. This is the same gripe I have with the Zoro intro. Luffy sees Zoro fight before recruiting him. When really he's supposed to want Zoro after seeing him tied up and learning that Zoro was captured because he saved a little girl from Helmeppo's dog. While Zoro and Sanji are the two strongest fighters on Luffy's crew, he never recruited them because they could fight.
ANYWAY
Luffy does see Sanji's kindness, only after seeing him fight and trying his food, and the two actors have great chemistry on screen. It's easy to believe that they are becoming fast friends and you can see in Taz Skylar's acting how much Sanji admires Luffy right off the bat. It's cute!
Unfortunately while Sanji is sidelined in his own arc, so two are the reveal of his backstory and the famous All Blue dream talk. His backstory is revealed in a random trauma dump to the crew which is only used to further the Zoro losing to Mihawk story. And the All Blue talk is just dropped randomly and has nothing to do with Sanji learning to pursue his own dreams. That's just done with a short shouting match between him and Zeff. Whatever.
Tumblr media
Episodes 7 & 8:
Arlong Park was a good place to end the season. And the adaption of the arc is once again fine. Nami's backstory is rushed and the change to having no one in the town knowing her true intentions is a weird one.
BUT! Something I hadn't mentioned before, the sets are really fun! Arlong Park is a good example of this because it takes the design from the manga/anime and adds its own twist. The twist? Making Arlong Park look like a fairway at an amusement park. Which is a fun (horribly depressing) nod to something fans of the series can pick up on.
Other notable sets are Buggy's circus tent, Kaya's Tim Burton themed mansion, and the Baratie. God the Baratie is an amazing set! The detail of the lighthouse on top is *chefs kiss*
Tumblr media
Something else I didn't mention before, is that there is a B plot throughout all 8 episodes following Garp in pursuit of Luffy while training Koby and Helmeppo. It's loosely based on a cover story the manga ran early on and it's fine.
The characterization of Garp is a little odd, as he seems more strict and book smart than his manga counterpart. (I cheered when we saw him finally throw some canon balls!!) But it all lead up to a moment of him meeting Zeff. Two men of the older generation. A former pirate and a marine sitting down over a glass of wine and steaks. And they discuss having to accept the changing world when really the conversation is about accepting their boys moving on follow their dreams. It's a simple scene, but it's one of my favorites.
Tumblr media
NOW the Arlong Park battle is good, if not a little short because they have to make time for the Garp stuff. There is one line in particular that really bothers me. There is a moment where Luffy agrees with Arlong and says something like, "Maybe I can't defeat you." and... that's not Luffy.
Arlong Park has one of Luffy's most iconic moments. A moment that defines his character and the entire series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think that's how I feel about the OPLA as a whole.
It's good, but it's not One Piece. Well- it's not the One Piece we already know.
This Luffy is different. OPLA Luffy has a moral compass. He has snappy lines and has maybe even read a book in his life time. He's not the same Luffy from the manga, and that's okay. Inaki Godoy is a joy to watch on screen and his version of Luffy is just as wonderful in his own way.
Tumblr media
One Piece Live Action is witty and very charming. Filled with great action scenes, lively sets & costumes, and actors who are giving it their all in every scene.
Despite some changes I disagree with, this was an amazing adaption that is a celebration of the fans and an introduction to the wacky world of One Piece to new viewers.

🌷💖 1ST SEMESTER GOALS AND PLANS 💖🌷
a new semester is about to start and with it another fight for survival! xD
from the 1st day of classes to the last possible day of exams, it totals at 145 days. i'll be taking 4 classes specific to my course, 1 required humanities class in another faculty and i'll be redoing 1 class i failed last year.
since the 100 days of productivity challenge worked so well for me last year, i'm going to extend it to fit the whole semester and hope for the best. i think it'll be much harder than it was because the 1st semester is always 1000x more difficult than the 2nd for some reason 😮‍💨 but i don't really have an option at this point soo... yeah
there's a bunch of stuff i'd like to implement and a bunch of stuff i'd like to do so i'm going to begin the juggling act and see what can survive the harshness of my existence at uni :)
🌺💕 GOALS 💕🌺
-> pass all my classes: 6/6 ✅
-> keep my duolingo streak alive ✅
-> learn how to do friendship bracelets and wall-hangings with cute patterns ❌

༻`` 18 & 19 Mar 24 — Monday and Tuesday
100 days of productivity 61 + 62/100
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yesterday was not too bad of a day but I did spend 5 ½ hours at church yesterday.... at least 4 of which were spent staring into space... I was so exhausted by the end of it and was home only after 11. Planned on getting some chemistry revision done after mass, but I was expecting to only wait around for 2 hours, not over 4....
Today my mum had a kind of heart to heart with me, mainly because of yesterday's talk at mass and confession. It was nice but very strange.
Didn't get any studying done today either but I did get down and wrote out a page of notes! It's really not much but considering I did practically nothing this past week, plus the lack of wanting to do anything, I'm happy that I did something. Excited on getting back into some routine tomorrow.
30 Day New Year Momentum 4/100
Honestly, I may have forgotten about this challenge but I'm looking forward to getting more involved with it again!

12 Tips for Making Your Creative Writing Sessions More Productive
When you’re ready to sit down and make some progress on your current WIP, get in touch with your productivity to reach your goals. Check out a few ways to hack your brain and make your creative writing sessions more productive. You’ll defeat writer’s block and potentially overshoot your usual writing goals.
1. Set a Goal
Creating goals and reaching them is the easiest way to know you’ve been productive. Writing goals can take many forms, but you can consider using one of these goals to get started:
Write 100 (200, 300, whatever you feel comfortable with) words
Write for 15 minutes without a break
Write 1 (2, 3, etc.) page
Finish the current chapter
Even if you think a goal is too small, it could be just right for your writing abilities and schedule. Every person is different, so every writer’s productivity goals will be different too.
2. Put Your Phone Away
The average person checks their phone 344 times every day (once every four minutes). Putting it next to you while you’re writing might not be enough to make your creative writing session more productive.
Turn your phone on silent and place it in a drawer. Hide it under the pillow next to you or leave it in the next room. As long as it’s out of sight, you’ll be less tempted to pick it up and flip through apps while you’re working toward your writing goals.
3. Pick a Better Environment
If you’ve been struggling with your writing, try changing where you write. Your kitchen table might be around too many distractions, so write in your bedroom instead.
Need inspiration? I wrote about 10 places to write your stories that could inspire you in different ways. Changing your scenery can help you get a new perspective, which is why people take vacations. Help your brain jumpstart itself by changing your scenery whenever you want to write next.
4. Harness Your Focus With Sounds
Listening to the right playlist can actually help you focus. Instead of distracting you, lyric-less noises or songs may become the background noises that trigger stochastic resonance in your brain. It’s a phenomenon when people focus more efficiently when they only hear specific background noises.
Grab your favorite headphones and try a few playlists I put together with various background sounds. You could write more easily while listening to sounds like rain, forrest noises, snowstorms, or more.
You can also search for instrumental playlists if you’re not into real-world noises. Have fun trying different audio clips to see what works best with your brain.
5. Free Write for One Minute
You might not jump right back into your current WIP because stress is clogging your mind. Free write for one minute by recording your stream of consciousness on a piece of paper or a Google doc. It might not have anything to do with your story, but destressing by facing the thoughts holding your creativity back could be what you need to really engage with your work.
6. Switch Your Writing Time
Trying to write in the evening might not work with your circadian rhythm. Some people have more natural energy in the mornings or afternoons. Reflect on when you have the most energy or when you most easily pay attention to what’s going on around you.
Figuring out when you’re most in tune with your energy could help you switch your writing time to a better time of day for your brain. Try writing at a new time of day to see if it’s easier or more challenging.
7. Add Writing to Your Schedule
This tip revolutionized my writing routine. I used to write whenever I got done for the day, if I had energy leftover after a long day of school, work, or other responsibilities.
Now I add 15 minutes to my schedule specifically for my creative process. It seemed weird at first because creativity is supposed to be intuitive. However, adding more responsibilities to your time limits what you can do and how much energy you have after the day ends.
Schedule a few minutes for writing. Repeat that schedule two or three times a week and you’ll quickly make progress on your WIP.
8. Brainstorm With a Friend
When your writing process feels stuck, brainstorming or venting out loud could help. Call a friend and ask if you can vent about your story for a few minutes. Sometimes hearing your struggles out loud makes them seem smaller and easier to overcome.
You could also post about your process online (hello, tumblr!), text a friend, post in a virtual writing group, or talk to yourself out loud. You might think through your current creative block and get more writing done.
9. Block That Editing Instinct
I know how tempting it is to edit as you write. Catch that instinct as often as possible to save your editing for another time.
Writers need first drafts to start morphing their work into a polished story. Just get those words on paper for right now. You can edit your heart out once you have a draft to work with.
10. Dismantle Your Project
You can also overcome the desire to constantly edit or work on finer story details by breaking your project apart.
Manageable segments might free up the anxiety holding your creavity back. Outline your writing process into steps like:
Character creation
Plot outlining
Plot point development
Writing (by chapter, word count, etC)
Editing (line edits and/or developmental edits)
You could work a little bit on each segment every day. You’ll watch your WIP blossom and potential feel less stressed because you know you’re being productive.
11. Read a Similar Book
When was the last time you picked up a book? Sometimes we need to read a similar story to get our creativity flowing again. Read something similar by getting a book in the same genre, thematic narrative, or writing style.
You might feel your creativity come back to you so writing becomes easier. You’ll also benefit by developing a few extra skills as each page turns.
12. Allow Yourself to Get Messy
Perfectionism finds us all eventually. When it has your creativity locked up, encourage yourself to get messy. Every writer makes mistakes and edits them out later. That’s why there are multiple types of editing after you finish your draft.
Write something terrible. I dare you. You can always transform it into something great later.
You might even discover that your first draft isn’t as bad as you thought it’d be.
-----
Take these tips with you into your next writing session. They may help when your old process isn’t working as well as before!
