Today I noticed Martini violently shaking his head when he walked and occasionally flailing about and knocking against the glass. I spent about 2 hours looking up neurological issues in geckos.

After watching him a little more carefully, I came up with a crazy theory and held up a small mirror to his face. He immediately started shaking again.

...He's trying to intimidate his reflection in the glass.

Two adorably cute day geckos were surrendered to the rescue and I picked them up! These both seem to be male (see the pores by vent) and decently healthy in body condition.

Anyone know more about these guys? Are they both the same kind? I've been researching so hopefully their lives will improve from here on out, but dang they are feisty AF!

One is probably getting picked up by another volunteer - they will want to adopt. But the other I'll hope we'll hold for the required time and be able to adopt out. Such pretty boys. 🦎

Update on the day gecko terrarium! Try to spot all three geckos ;) I believe im up to 5 currently but there's only 3 visible in this pic. The growth of this tank is unreal though, I almost lost the baby tears on the bottom but they're making a steady comeback and everything else is going nuts!
