He doesn't quite plan the date so much as it falls into his lap.
A week later, the other photographer at his work takes time off after their dad dies. From lung cancer. Not from Jed, he'd only ever seen the man once in passing at a company party. The man had left for five smoke breaks in only two hours so it wasn't a real shocker to hear. Unfortunately, that left him to take the nature photos for the third tourist luring fluff piece this month.
Not that he was opposed to tourist pieces. The opposite, really. His little killing spree wasn't the best for local businesses, even if he never really understood why it made tourists so afraid. He was a stalker! He stalked people who lived in the towns he killed in. Tourists were the safest people in town! He truly couldn't see why no one else had put that together yet.
Instead, they churned out fluff pieces. Like this one.

If you're up for it, would you be willing to do another reader with a high pain tolerance prompt for some more characters? I'd like it to feature survivors and have at least one of the gals, but other than that it's dealer's choice. Please and thank you.
Throw back to my first request. Kyah! Nostalgia! I can absolutely do that. Please enjoy.
With a Reader who has a High Pain Tolerance
Meg, Ghostface, Yui
Meg Thomas
She has a pretty high pain tolerance herself.
So don't be surprised you get hurt and she kind of blows it off.
It isn't that she doesn't care.
She really does.
But, since her pain tolerance is so high, she doesn't really register that it might actually hurt you.
She ran a race with a leg that was nearly broken.
She gets stabbed, cut, slashed, and everything other killers do to them on a daily basis.
That's the norm for her.
So, no, a little stab won't hurt her.
And it shouldn't hurt you either, right?
Meg couldn't see herself with someone who whined about every little cut.
Sometimes she'll show you her scars and cuts and tell you the stories.
Do the same to her.
"Shit, that's narly."
"Nice."
If you get really hurt, she'll worry.
And you're going straight to... The nearest person with any medical skill.
Because she has none.
But she won't freak out.
Because that won't do anything but make the situation worse.
And she doesn't want to make things worse for you.
Ghostface
You think he'll freak out?
Ha!
No, this ass hat is going to make fun of you.
For the little things that is.
A book falls on your head?
"Ha! Loser."
Trip over something.
"Walk much?"
But if something serious happens?
If you fell off a roof?
Or got stabbed?
He'd be freaking out!
Like full on hysterics.
Flat out grabbed Sally and basically threw her at you.
But, while Sally was patching you up, you seemed just fine.
It was creepy.
"So like, you don't feel pain?"
He'll want to test that.
Sometimes he'll just shove you into the ground.
And you get back up like nothing happens.
"Damn, you're tough babe. That's hot."
He has zero pain tolerance.
He likes to be the one causing the pain, not receiving it.
So a little cut to Danny is like, the end of the world.
But he's trying to 'man up'.
So he'll jump off the roof and get really hurt.
"No sweat."
He's actually screaming on the inside.
Get him medical attention.
He's doing all this to impress you, so at least act impressed.
Yui Kimura
She's got a pretty high pain tolerance as well.
If the realm doesn't enforce it, her previous life sure did.
You don't simply hop on a motorcycle and ride just fine.
You're bound to wipe out at least once.
And when you race them?
Let's just say she has her fair share of bruises and scrapes.
And she wears them with pride.
Each one tells a story.
And she'll tell you each and every one.
You having a high pain tolerance is actually great.
Yui never liked to live life on the quiet side.
She's always had this insatiable craving for adventure.
She probably couldn't handle someone with a low pain tolerance anyway.
Who wants to stay at home and do nothing when you can go on an adventure, right?
But even she has her limits.
It's like you don't feel pain.
And that worries her to no end.
"You just fell through the floorboards! How are you okay!?"
But she's also impressed.
Like, shit, that's pretty badass.
And, let's be honest, to be her significant other you're going to need to be a badass.
