whats the reason why you hate babs in that comic

First, I’m self aware enough to acknowledge that I dislike Dickbabs. I consider it a “first love” type of thing where they both mature past each other and remain friends. I think it holds them both back and too many iterations make it toxic. Second, I love Dick Grayson. I am very much biased in his favor.

I’m unfortunate enough to have started reading DC comics when Babs kissed Jason and Dick was “Ric” and she called him selfish (or something in that vein). Dick has a history of being dumbed down, often in favor of other characters, and it hurts my soul.

Now we have Babs, who I already didn’t love, becoming the “main character”, Dick is sending her sexy dreams, and she somehow outsmarts him, takes him down and is now vampire queen. I refuse to believe that Dick Grayson wouldn’t notice the smuggling of UV lights into Gotham. I refuse to believe he wouldn’t target the bats with more fervor. I refuse to believe that he’s suddenly so prideful that he must hunt down humans and not target his past allies? He’s not stupid.

It’s so condescending and nonsensical. Where would she get the idea that he was some sort of purist? Most of this is on the writers, but Babs’ writing has a tendency to make her weirdly arrogant. Why would she want to be vampire queen? Nothing has changed, she’s just the one heading the farm. Vampirism seems to make you more sociopathic, not stupid.

The whole series is dumb
