Can we have Ryan Choi in The Flash pleaseeee? They are both scientists, dealing with physics, they can totally work together at Star Lab, both a bit goofy, i can totally see them being the 'hottest things on Earth' while bending the laws of physics to save the world

Black History in Superheroes on Film and TV:
Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg from Justice League
Victor is a former college athlete who after a car accident, becomes enhanced with cybernetics and alien technology that are reactive, adaptive, and biomimetic. Although initially reluctant to join Diana and Bruce, he is called into action when Steppenwolf and his forces kidnap his father. Through his enhancements, he has the ability to fly, employ various weapons, and is technopathic.

Note
I can't stop thinking about how much good stuff was cut to make time for the nonsense that Whedon added tbh. Having seen the film as it was always intended to be, I can't imagine cutting the Silas and Victor stuff. The quiet but worthwhile character moments. Like??? To make time for that random family he added? How someone looked at both cuts and said, 'we'll take the one without the heart and team building and explanations, thanks' is beyond me. Unreal.
I couldn't agree more, anon. Like yes, 4 hours would never be released in theaters, but there was so much more worthwhile stuff within those 4 hours that would have made more sense to include in the theatrical release than anything Whedon added.
Like why the fuck would he make it so that the Parademons are attracted to the scent of fear? Just so he could add that dumb scene with the random goon on the rooftop and the Russian family cowering in their house? Just so he could take away Wonder Woman's badass head chop and replace it with the stupid Parademons taking out Steppenwolf? Like why did he add such a random ass Macguffin that just ends up hurting the story? Not to mention the fact that in order to add these two random scenes he cast a bunch of random white people who don't even have names while he completely cut out Ryan Choi who, as I've said before, I expected to be in like one scene, but he was in basically every scene at Star Labs. Like this movie really was gonna be Zack's vehicle to introduce the Atom and Ryan Choi to the entire DCEU and have him eventually get his own solo movie the same way he did for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg (if WB can ever get its shit together) and Joss and the studio completely erased him instead, they could have had the first East Asian superhero on the big screen and given him his own solo film by now, but no the Russian family was the better choice. As well as severely reducing all of Cyborg's story and his parents' for what? For what WB? What did you get instead of this beautifully tragic story arc about a disabled black man learning to navigate his new life while dealing with the death of his mother and his estranged father? What did you get? You got a CGI mouth and brunch. Congratulations, fuckos, I'll see all you executives in hell because I promise you, your personal hell will be me playing both of these movies side by side and pausing every time I want to know why they'd cut that scene from the Snydercut for that scene in Josstice League over and over again. Anyways, fuck WB, Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg.
Oh also Restore the Snyderverse

From Man of Steel to Zack Snyder’s Justice League: A Complete DCEU Timeline
https://ift.tt/3eYjG5C
This article contains spoilers for Zack Snyder’s Justice League and other DC movies.
The timeline of the DC Extended Universe began in a fairly clear manner, with most of the events of Man of Steel set in 2013. As more films were released, containing flashbacks, or lacking a clear chronological setting, things became increasingly complicated. And by the time we got to Birds of Prey film, its precise placement in the DCEU is downright murky. But there are contextual in-universe clues in the form of media, gravestones, mugshot photos, or throwaway lines of dialogue that provide some clarity.
With the long-awaited release of the Snyder Cut of Justice League hitting HBO Max, it’s a good time to break down what we know so far about when some significant moments in DCEU history took place.
100,000 B.C.
The Kryptonian Expansion: Krypton begins interstellar exploration and launches scout ships into the void of space. They colonize and flourish for 100 thousand years until artificial population control is introduced. (Man of Steel)
18,000 B.C.
A Kryptonian scout ship crash lands on Earth; one Kryptonian escapes the craft, leaving behind an empty pod. (Man of Steel) According to a Man of Steel prequel comic that may may not still be canon, her name was Kara Zor-El.
Thousands of Years Ago
Darkseid seeks to conquer Earth, but is foiled by the combined forces of man, Atlanteans, Themyscirans, Olympian gods, and at least one member of the Green Lantern Corps, Yalan Gur. Three Mother Boxes are hidden across the planet: in Atlantis, on Themyscira, and with mankind. (Zack Snyder’s Justice League)
Millennia after the Amazons are created, Ares goes to war with the Olympian gods, and kills all of them, including Zeus. Themyscira is created with Zeus’ remaining power. Somewhere during this period, Atlantis sinks beneath the waves. (Wonder Woman)
The ancient wizard Shazam imbues a champion with the powers of six mythological figures, only for him to become corrupted by the power. (Shazam!)
Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Queen Hippolyta, grows up on the hidden island, and trains to become a warrior under General Antiope. (Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman 1984)
1918
Diana saves Steve Trevor who has crashed on Themyscira. He warns her of the great war, World War I, raging across the globe. She joins him in the world of man, and together they seek to stop the evil Dr. Maru and General Ludendorff (who Diana incorrectly believes is the God of War, Ares). Steve Trevor dies. (Wonder Woman)

After the explosion of his homeworld, Kal-El of Krypton crash lands on Earth, and is taken in by Jonathan and Martha Kent of Smallville, Kansas. This date is approximate, but while being interrogated in Man of Steel, Superman says he’s been on the planet for 33 years. (Man of Steel)
1981
Thomas and Martha Wayne are murdered in Gotham City, leaving their young song Bruce an orphan with a serious grudge against criminals. (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice)
1984
Diana Prince operates in secret as the heroine Wonder Woman, while also working by day at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. After unwittingly using the Dreamstone, she resurrects Steve Trevor (who inhabits another man’s body). Barbara Ann Minerva, also through the use of the Dreamstone, gains superpowers and is ultimately transformed into Cheetah. Businessman Max Lord wishes to become the stone itself, and uses his powers to create global chaos. (Wonder Woman 1984)

Lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry rescues and falls in love with Atlantean queen Atlanna; Arthur Curry, aka, Aquaman is born shortly thereafter. (Aquaman)
Circa 1995
Bruce Wayne begins operating in Gotham as the vigilante Batman.
1997
Jonathan Kent dies in a tornado after discouraging Clark from using his powers to save him. (Man of Steel)
2013
This is a bat-signal in the dark, but this is a reasonable estimate on when both Dr. Harlene Quinzel becomes Harley Quinn, and when Dick Grayson, Batman’s partner Robin, is murdered. Suicide Squad lists Quinzel’s date of birth as July 1990. It seems unlikely she would have become a psychiatrist, and assigned to the Joker in Arkham before age 23. Still, Robin is dead by October 2014 (and presumably dead by the Black Zero Event in late 2013, as shown in Man of Steel). This allows for about a year for Harleen to help Joker escape Arkham, take a transformational acid bath, and help the Clown Prince kill Grayson.

Barry Allen encounters a parallel universe version of himself in STAR Labs. Though it is unclear when in his timeline the encounter occurs, it is before he has adopted the moniker of The Flash — which is given to him by the Arrowverse’s Barry. Based on his reaction to the meeting, it can be assumed this takes place before Barry has explored other realities via the Speed Force. (Crisis on Infinite Earths)
2020
Harley Quinn and Joker break up, and she establishes a new life in Gotham. She goes to war with Roman Sionis, and the Birds of Prey are formed. The events of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) take place after both Suicide Squad and Justice League — and at a time when Batman has gone missing.  (Birds of Prey)

As seen in the epilogue of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, in a potential future, Superman has succumbed to Darkseid’s anti-life equation following the death of Lois Lane. As a result, he becomes a powerful weapon wielded against humanity, and his former teammates, including Batman and Flash, as well as Mera, Slade Wilson, and Joker. Many heroes of the past, meanwhile, have perished. (Zack Snyder’s Justice League)

Arrow (2020)
After being chased by the Anti-Monitor, Grant Gustin's Flash winds up in a memory of STAR Labs inside the Speed Force where he comes face-to-face with Miller's Flash. The meeting of TV and movie Flashes is played for laughs as Miller asks if Gustin is cosplaying, while Gustin calls Miller The Flash, a name the latter has yet to go by in the movies - before both Flashes reveal that they're named Barry Allen. The scene ends when Miller fades away, saying, "I told Victor this was possible," presumably referring to his buddy Vic Stone aka Cyborg.
This means that the Arrowverse is a parallel universe to the DC movie universe (referred to by fans as the DC Extended Universe or DCEU) where Miller’s Flash resides and the events of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam! took place.
This crossover has been a long time coming. Back in 2015, Miller told MTV about how he was psyched about there being two different versions of the Flash and how he wanted to interact with Gustin’s version of Barry Allen.
“I think it's awesome,” Miller enthused. “And come on, we're the Flash! It's parallel universes! Grant Gustin is the Flash and I'm the Flash, don't you see? It's the event horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chillin'. We're gonna have a race, it's gonna be dope. Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day, it's gonna be dope."
Source: IGN
The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover confirms the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is part of the Arrowverse with a cameo from Justice League star Ezra Miller, who plays Barry Allen aka. The Flash. The network launched its small-screen shared DC universe in 2012, while Warner Bros. worked to launch its own DC Comics franchise on the big screen. That big screen series, come to be known unofficially as the DCEU expanded in a big way in 2016 with the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which introduced key heroes like Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Miller's The Flash. The heroes united in 2017's Justice League, but The Flash movie is still to come in 2022.
Last month, The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths event kicked off and proceeded to confirm all manner of DC movies and TV shows as canon within the Arrowverse. DC Universe's Titans, the classic 60s Batman series, the short-lived Birds of Prey TV show,  Smallville and more have all been confirmed to be included in the Arrowverse's multiverse. In Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 4, though, The CW makes arguably its biggest confirmation - and has its most surprising cameo - yet.
Partway through Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 4, Miller's DCEU version of the Flash appears in the Speed Force while The CW's Flash (Grant Gustin) is searching for his friends. After a short conversation, Miller's Flash disappears, and their brief exchange ends with the DCEU Barry Allen saying, "I told Victor this was possible." This is a clear reference to fellow Justice League member Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
Ever since Miller was cast as the DCEU's Flash in 2014, fans of Gustin's version of the Scarlet Speedster have wanted the duo to meet on screen. Now, The CW has brought the fan service moment to life in Crisis on Infinite Earths. The brief conversation between the two Flash heroes includes Miller's character asking Gustin's if he's cosplaying, treating the CW superhero like a fan. When Arrowverse Barry introduces himself as The Flash, DCEU Barry looks contemplative, hinting this is how the Justice League character gets his superhero name. They compliment each other's costumes, and go to shake hands, both saying, "I'm Barry Allen," at the exact same time. The exchange ends with Arrowverse Flash alluding to the destruction of the multiverse, saying, "This should be impossible now." Miller's Flash seems confused, but then fades away, making the reference to Cyborg.
Arrowverse Flash has a point that he shouldn't be able to run into another Flash from the multiverse considering the Anti-Monitor had destroyed every single Earth. However, it's possible Barry ran across a remnant or memory of the DCEU's Flash within the Speed Force since it connects to the multiverse - it just wasn't his own memory. It's unclear how exactly that works, and it's possible the Arrowverse producers were focused more on bringing the fan service moment to life than on explaining how and why it's possible. For the fans, seeing two Flashes interact on screen was no doubt an exciting moment in DC TV history, and they can have even more fun speculating about what it means for not only the Arrowverse, but the DCEU and The Flash movie.

Hey guys! So here on Anemoia, we will be allowing character histories and personalities from the three primary canon comic timelines (new earth, prime earth, and rebirth), with any amount of in-mixing from those or any other DC adaptations. For example, if you wanted to play Bruce Wayne from New Earth but preferred the way rebirth handled a specific event or facet of his personality, you’d be more than free to add that to your characterization! The same concept goes for DCAU/DCEU/etc timelines, or other adaptations. Anemoia is meant to be a mixing of canons, so we definitely encourage making characters your own!
Because we won’t solely be following any one single canon timeline from the comics for the site’s history, we’ve written our own timeline specific to the Anemoia universe. These are the only solid, unalterable events in our universe, so they’re pretty important! As such, our TIMELINE will be the first site preview and can be found under the cut! Enjoy, and feel free to send a message if you have any questions about specific events!

If I Go Back In Time Part 2
I realized that were I to actually pitch the movie, the executives and producers would probably ask about more movies going forward. After all, this is supposed to be a cinematic universe to compete with Marvel. I've given it some thought- firstly, the casting of the heroes will be the same, because as far as I'm concerned they all did okay. Secondly, here's a list of possible films in my version of the DCEU:
Man of Steel 2
Plot: See the old post.
To Be Released: Given I said I'd go back to 2012, earliest release would probably be mid 2014
Marketing Notes: Keep it to a minimum. Maybe 2 trailers and a handful of tv spots. Around 4 minutes of footage total, all of it from the first half of the movie. Lower people's expectations a little so they can be surprised if it's any good.
Wonder Woman
Plot: Mostly the same as the one we got for real, but a few significant changes...
Lois Lane is the one conversing with Diana about the photograph, not Batman.
Ares did not kill all of the gods, they simply withdrew from the world of man once humans got too violent. They're in some pocket dimension version of Mount Olympus, waiting for future movies.
Diana does not think that Danny Houston's character is Ares. But she does think he knows where Ares is, because she has a very black-and-white view of the world right now, and Steve told her that Britain and their allies were the good guys. So obviously Ares is on the side of the 'bad' guys, the Germans.
Towards the middle of the movie, when Charlie the sniper is having his breakdown, Diana takes him aside and tells him that the older Amazons still have nightmares about battles from thousands of years ago. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It tends to help them when their friends are nearby. Now, they're not going to force him to fight, but they do want him to come with them. After all, if he stays, who will sing for them? I just think that having that conversation beforehand would be a bit more respectful of his condition. Also it comes back in the climax, Diana at one point has a gun to the back of her head in the middle of a fight, and Charlie shoots the guy first.
When Ares shows up towards the climax, he's actually a good guy who's been trying to end the war peacefully. Turns out, the mythology Diana was taught was wrong. The gods withdrew towards the end of the reign of the first Amazon queen, Otrera. Otrera according to the real world myths had a fling with Ares, which probably ended badly. Here, she would have lied about the reason for the gods' leaving just because she doesn't like Ares. And turns out, mankind really are just a bunch of warmongering assholes. Sometimes.
The real big bad is Doctor Poison. She uses Diana's discarded sword to stab Ares in the back, poisons Diana to weaken her, then huffs some of her own super-serum gas to make the boss battle a fair(-ish) fight.
When Steve comes up to Diana to tell her about his plan to destroy the plane, she can hear him and actually gives him her blessing. So no more 'hung up on her ex' version! It's just not possible if she told him to do it.
There are a couple bits of set up for the next film. First, at some point underwater ruins are mentioned, and Diana asks if Atlantis has fallen in the war. Steve asks if it actually exists, to which Diana replies, “Last time I knew...” The second part is a mid-credits scene where Lois sends Diana another message, asking her to look at a video. The video is exactly the same as the one we got in BvS, of Aquaman underwater stabbing the camera with his trident. During the clip, we hear a part of what will be Aquaman's theme, same as how WW's theme played in her pre-credits scene.
To Be Released: Probably late 2015, early 2016
Marketing Notes: Nothing is released or announced regarding this film until after MoS 2 has been in theaters for a week. I want people to go absolutely fucking apeshit in theaters when they realize that Wonder Woman of all characters will be the next film. Considering how she'd been regarded by Warner Bros. in the past.
The Aquaman
Plot: It's like a crazy Star Wars/Black Panther/Moana fusion. An Operatic Superhero Political-and-Family Drama based out of a futuristic Polynesian magitek version of Atlantis, with only a few scenes above the water.
To Be Released: Mid to late 2017.
Marketing Notes: Don't have a lot of action in the trailers. There will be action in the movie, including a badass final fight, but it'll be less than most superhero films. Focus on the drama in the trailers to accurately represent the movie.
Knight of Gotham
Plot: This movie will be the smallest scale movie in the franchise. It'll focus in on Batman's detective skills more than anything (though he'll still kick major ass). When the movie begins, all of Batman's more famous foes are locked up in Arkham Asylum. He hasn't been seen much lately. So smaller criminals are starting to think it's safe to operate in Gotham again. Mob boss Don Carmine Falcone wants in on it. So he puts out a hit on Commissioner Gordon, the only non-corrupt official in the city. The first taker is Deadshot (setting him up for you-know-what, but a better version). After that a couple of small-time killers. Then Ra's Al-Ghul shows up and tells Batman that every assassin not a part of the League will likely be heading to Gotham to try and kill James Gordon. However, there's only one to really be concerned about: a man named Victor Zsasz. The rest of the film is a cat-and-mouse game between Batman (plus Jim and Batgirl) and Zsasz, culminating in a boss fight that would rival both John Wick movies put together. At the end, Zsasz is a sore loser and blows up Arkham, releasing the villains for future films. At some point, Batman talked to Deadshot in prison and got him to give up Falcone as the one who put out the hit, so Falcone goes to jail and Deadshot is placed in lesser security, with his name marked under the Task Force X label.
To Be Released: Early to mid 2018.
Marketing Notes: Give a significant amount of focus to Batgirl's involvement. People will love that, so long as there's no hint of anything between her and Bruce (there won't be).
Justice League
Plot: We introduce The Flash and Cyborg as a comedic duo of superheroes from STAR Labs, with a dynamic not too dissimilar from Deadpool and Cable, or maybe Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. The villain of the film is Abra Kadabra, a Flash villain from the distant future who uses nanomachines to do... a lot of different things. He styles himself after a stage magician. As a character in the film, he wants to shunt the Earth into a pocket dimension (make the whole world... disappear!) in order to save it from future disasters. However, the process would kill most of humanity, which is why the League have to stop him. It takes all five powered heroes to hold him down, while Batman delivers the disabling blow using one of his gadgets.
To Be Released: Day after New Year's, 2019.
Marketing Notes: In the film, Abra Kadabra will use his powers to shape shift into the heroes at multiple points. We can use this to run a “Who can you trust?” tagline, with emphasis on the fights, because this movie is spectacle incarnate. With a simple plot.
Man of Steel 3
Plot: This is the one where Lex Luthor reveals his true nature. The big fight will be Warsuit Lex vs Superman. Kryptonite will be introduced here. Other than that, I'm not sure.
To Be Released: Fall 2019.
Marketing Notes: Fake anti-Superman propaganda clips put out by Lex Corp.
Wonder Woman 2
Plot: Villain will probably be Cheetah, since she's the one of the most popular. Might be good to have Diana team up with Flash, just to bring that fun element in, and maybe some time travel stuff. Possibly bringing Steve Trevor back.
To Be Released: Late spring 2020.
Marketing Notes: If Flash is involved, focus on his and Diana's dynamic.
Gotham Sirens
Plot: Catwoman and Lady Shiva have been partners in thievery for a while now. They're hired by Silver St Cloud to steal a sacred amulet (it's actually magic), and they decide to team up with Arkham escapees Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn for the extra muscle. Ivy has her own plans, however, and it involves using the amulet to turn the whole city into a jungle. The reason they needed the extra muscle to steal the amulet is because it was guarded by a private security firm named Grayson and Sons. One guess to who the survivor of the Siren's attack is. Yeah, this movie introduces Nightwing (he skips the Robin identity). He teams up with Batman, Batgirl, and most likely our two thieves to stop Poison Ivy.
To Be Released: Mid fall 2020. Hitting a rhythm now.
Marketing Notes: One half of the material is about the all-girl villain team, the other half is about the growing Bat Family.
Fall of Justice: Tower of Babel
Plot: After Abra Kadabra's tricks, Batman realized how dangerous the rest of the League were and created weapons to stop them if they ever went bad. Unfortunately, someone (maybe Joker? Who would not be played by Jared Leto- I'm thinking Nicholas Hoult, considering his performance as Nux in Mad Max Fury Road) has stolen those weapons and the League is in genuine danger. If not the Joker, perhaps The Rogues came over from Central City and this is Leonard Snart's origin as Captain Cold (the cold gun is in the weapon cache).
To Be Released: Spring 2021.
Marketing Notes: This'll be the darkest entry in the canon so far. Someone will probably die, though who I don't know. Probably a supporting character, but an important one.
There will of course be more movies, but I'm not sure of the order or most of the details. Here's a really quick list:
Constantine (introduce the weird mythos of Dream and the Endless)
Dark Justice (aka, Justice League Dark- the villain will be Enchantress)
Titans (a second superhero team is started by Nightwing and includes Beast Boy, Starfire, and a couple others, and Deathstroke is the villain)
Crisis on Infinite Earths (eventually)
Fall of Justice: The Crime Syndicate (evil versions of our heroes from another Earth)
Flashpoint (without the major reboot aspect)
An Untitled Green Lantern Film (used to introduce planets like Thanagar and Tamaran, as well as the Manhunters)
Identity Crisis (without the “Doctor Light is a serial rapist” part)
Final Crisis (not the last movie)
Suicide Squad (alternately titled “Task Force X”, with a different villain)
Untitled Justice League Sequel (with the Legion of Doom as the bad guys)
Untitled Titans Sequel (with Brother Blood as the villain)
New Gods (I don't know enough about them to even speculate, but this oughta be cool)
Untitled Man of Steel Sequel (uses “Death of Superman” plot)
The Dark Knight Lives (at some point, probably in a League film, Bruce Wayne retired and Batman was believed to be dead. Now he comes back, because Gotham City truly does need him)
Batman Beyond (so it turns out Bruce needs to retire, too, so he finds a protege to take his place)
Justice League Kingdom Come
Man of Steel: Rising Son (deals with the “multiple heroes trying to be Superman” scenario from the comics, before bringing Kal-El himself back)
Shazam
Green Arrow
Untitled Flash Movie
Untitled Green Lantern Sequel
Untitled Justice League Dark Sequel
Blue and Gold (Blue Beetle and Booster Gold buddy comedy film)
All Female Justice League Film
The final film in the entire universe would be titled Fall of Justice: Blackest Night (the “FoJ” title is applied to all the truly dark entries). This is the finale because it would include every character ever introduced in all the films, at least as a cameo; even the dead ones would return as Black Lanterns.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: EASTER EGGS, TRIVIA, AND THINGS YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED
Disclaimer: I did not find all of these easter eggs myself. I watched many Youtube videos and read many articles and gathered the best easter eggs or references I could find and I compiled them into one organized post. Also, this post will definitely contain spoilers from the movie. Enjoy!
GREEN LANTERN
Green Lantern is one of the founding members of the Justice League in the comics, and it was widely speculated that he would have a cameo in the film or in the post-credits scenes (especially since there’s a planned film in the DCEU called Green Lantern Corps); even though we didn’t get that in the film, when Diana was explaining to Bruce about Steppenwolf’s origins and the Mother Boxes, we see a Green Lantern get killed in battle. The Green Lantern we see fighting Steppenwolf also wears a cape, which could be an homage to Alan Scott, the first Green lantern in the comics. This easter egg officially confirms the existence of the Green Lanterns in the DCEU films and foreshadows Green Lantern Corps (2020).
Tumblr media
STEPPENWOLF AND DARKSEID’S RELATIONSHIP
The villain of Justice League was Steppenwolf, who is minion to the villain Darkseid. In the comics, Steppenwolf is Darkseid’s uncle, wheras in the movie, it’s revealed that Steppenwolf is Darkseid’s nephew.
CLARK AND JONATHAN KENT’S GRAVES
When The Flash and Cyborg are digging up Superman's coffin you can see the tombstone next to his reads Kent, referencing that he was buried next to his father who died in the Man of Steel movie.
Tumblr media
JOHN WESLEY SHIPP
When attempting to break into the Kryptonian ship, Barry’s fake credentials show the name Wesley Shipp, which is a reference to John Wesley Shipp, who played the Flash in the tv show from the 1990s.
Tumblr media
DO YOU BLEED?
One of the many callbacks to Batman v Superman is the line “Do you bleed?”. In BvS, Batman says it to Superman during their first encounter, and now in Justice League, Superman says it back to Batman during their fight.
Tumblr media
AQUAMAN AND SUPERMAN HAVE MET BEFORE
Jason Momoa who plays Aquaman has revealed that in the DCEU, Aquaman and Superman have crossed paths before; in Man of Steel, there’s a scene where Clark almost drowns after saving people from the exploding oil rig, and apparently Aquaman pushed him back to the surface.
Tumblr media
RED SKY
In the final battle against Steppenwolf, the Mother Boxes are united and the sky turns red; in the DC Comics universe, a red sky symbolizes a time of crisis - this first happened in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” in 1985.
Tumblr media
SCENES STRAIGHT FROM THE COMICS
The plot of the movie draws inspiration from DC’s New 52 Comics, with scenes in the movie taken right from the comics and put into the movie such as “Aquaman talking to fish” and Batman’s first fight with the parademon, which was from the comic story arc “Origin” written by Geoff Johns, who is also the co-head of DC Films.
GAME OF THRONES CONNECTIONS
3 actors from Game of Thrones are in Justice League:
Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) plays Aquaman
Ciaran Hinds (Mance Rayder) played Steppenwolf through motion capture
Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton) plays an unnamed criminal fighting against Wonder Woman
Tumblr media
BLACK MASK
During the same fight against the parademon, there’s a rooftop with the company name “Janus” on it, which is the name of the company run by the villain Black Mask.
Tumblr media
ARES AND ZEUS
The “gods” in Wonder Woman’s storyline and backstory are seen in the flashback battle - including Ares (played by David Thewlis) and Zeus, who zapped the Mother Boxes apart.
Tumblr media
THE PENGUIN
During a conversation between Bruce and Alfred, Alfred says he misses the days when their biggest threats were “exploding, wind-up penguins”, which is a reference to the famous Batman villain, the Penguin.
Tumblr media
THE SPECTRE
At the Gotham City Police Department, Alfred talks to Crispus Allen, who in the comics goes on to become the cosmic entity “The Spectre”.
Tumblr media
ACE CHEMICALS
When Batman talks to Commissioner Gordon on the rooftop, in the background you can spot a sign for “ACE Chemicals” which is where the Joker fell into a vat of chemicals that bleached his skin (in Suicide Squad we see a clip of Harley and Joker in ACE Chemicals).
Tumblr media
DOOMSDAY CLOCK
Bruce makes a comment about the “Doomsday clock having a snooze button”, which is a reference to the Watchmen, and “Doomsday Clock” is the title to the sequel of Watchmen, written by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.
Tumblr media
WAYNE MANOR / HALL OF JUSTICE
At the end of the movie, Bruce Wayne returns to his family home, Wayne Manor, and tells Alfred they’ll be needing a table and six chairs around it (or maybe more..) alluding to the fact that it could be the “Hall of Justice” aka the Justice League headquarters.
Tumblr media
BARRY & HENRY ALLEN
At the end of the movie, Barry gets a job as a forensic scientist, motivated by the desire to clear his father’s name (when Barry was a child, his mother Nora was murdered and his father Henry was charged with the crime). Henry Allen is held at “Iron Heights Penitentiary”, which is where most of the Flash’s enemies end up in the comics such as Captain Cold and Weather Wizard.
Bonus fact: In Justice League, Henry Allen is played by Billy Crudup, who played Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen movie, a DC Comics film also directed by Zack Snyder (though not a part of the DCEU).
Tumblr media
BARRY’S HOME - BLACKPINK AND RICK AND MORTY
When Bruce goes to recruit Barry to join the League, the song “As If It’s Your Last” by K-POP band BlackPink can be heard, and an episode of Rick and Morty can be seen playing in the background (season 1 episode 9); the scene shows Rick & Summer defeating the Devil, which mirrors the actions of the League in this film, as Steppenwolf is considered an allegory for Lucifer.
Tumblr media
GORILLA GRODD
In the same scene, Barry says he known “gorilla sign language” which is a reference to the Flash villain “Gorilla Grodd”, who is an extremely intelligent gorilla with psychic powers.
Tumblr media
PRINCE AND DAVID BOWIE
A newspaper article can be seen remembering the deaths of Prince and David Bowie alongside Superman.
Tumblr media
THE KRYPTONIAN SHIP
The Kryptonian ship which plays a big role in the film, is the same one that General Zod arrives in in Man of Steel, Lex Luthor created Doomsday in Batman v. Superman; we also understand from the movie that the ship has been taken from LexCorp by STAR Labs.
Tumblr media
VICTOR AND GOTHAM CITY UNIVERSITY
Victor got his powers after suffering an accident while he was a student and football player at Gotham City University. A scene was cut from the movie that showed him in a GCU jacket and his days as a football player. Bonus Fact: In Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition, we see a scene of a football game between Gotham City University and Metropolis, with GCU losing 58-0, and they’re doing so badly because Victor isn’t on their team anymore due to his accident.
Tumblr media
BOOYAH
After the fight with Steppenwolf, Cyborg says “Booyah!”, which is his signature catchphrase in the Teen Titans animated series.
JOHN WILLIAMS SCORE
Danny Elfman used a bit of Superman’s classic score by John Williams but “gave it a darker twist” in the film right before Superman fights the League at his monument.
16TH ANNIVERSARY OF ANIMATED SERIES
This film was released in the US on November 17th, the same day the animated series Justice League (2001) first aired sixteen years earlier.
1978 JIMMY OLSEN CAMEO
Marc McClure, who plays Jimmy Olsen in the 1978 Superman movie has a cameo in the movie as the police guard in the jail when Barry visits his dad.
Tumblr media
SUPERMAN V. THE FLASH - 1ST POST CREDITS SCENE
The first mid-credits scene shows Superman racing against The Flash to see who is faster; this has been a subject of many comic book stories with the answer never being truly resolved and always being “up in the air”.
Tumblr media
LEGION OF DOOM - 2ND POST CREDITS SCENE
The second post credits scene shows Lex Luthor to have broken out of Arkham Asylum and aboard a yacht with Deathstoke (aka Slade Wilson), with Lex telling Slade they should form “a league of their own”. This is a reference to the “Legion of Doom” or the “Injustice League” , a group of supervillains from DC Comics including Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, Riddler, Braniac, Solomon Grundy, Sinestro, Scarecrow, and more. Bonus Fact: Lex Luthor’s look in this scene is more true to how he looks in the comics as opposed to how he looked in Batman v Superman.
Tumblr media
CLARK’S FUNERAL OUTFIT
We see that Clark was buried in a navy blue suit, white shirt, and red tie - this is one of Clark’s iconic outfits from the early comics.
Tumblr media
THE ICONIC SUPERMAN POSE
Another iconic Clark Kent outfit is the tan trenchcoat, glasses, and hat, and at the very end of the film, the first time in the DCEU, we see Clark wear this outfit and pull open his shirt to reveal his Superman outfit - an iconic Superman scene.

The Flash movie will feature several superheroes from the DCEU. While Grant Gustin has been playing Flash in the Arrowverse for almost seven years now, the Scarlet Speedster is going to get active on the big screen very soon. Ezra Miller will be carrying the torch as DC's super-speeding hero as he'll star in his own film that will be draw inspiration from the iconic Flashpoint storyline. Even though it won't be a straight adaptation of the comic arc, it will have ramifications for the DCEU going forward, because of Barry's time travel.
Miller will soon be seen as Flash in Zack Snyder's Justice League where fans will get a taste of him traveling back in time to change the future. However, the Flashpoint-inspired film will be on a whole different level as it not only deals with time-travel but also the DC Multiverse. Barbara Muschietti, who is producing her brother Andy Muschietti's directed film, has teased that there will be a lot of DC characters showing up. The film has recently gone into production and will be filming for several months, maybe longer due to the global pandemic affecting TV and film production.
RELATED: Iris West's Role In Zack Snyder's Justice League Cut Explained
As The Flash development and production progresses, more heroes have been added to the cast. Originally, Ray Fisher's Cyborg was going to appear in The Flash movie, but Fisher's character has since then been removed from the script following the battle between him and WarnerMedia, in which he's alleged mistreatment on Joss Whedon's part during Justice League production. It remains to be seen if other superheroes from the DCEU will reprise their roles, given Barry's actions will alter the entire universe, but so far, the film already has an interesting lineup.
Tumblr media
Barry Allen aka Flash first appeared in the DCEU during a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice through archived footage. He is seen stopping a robbery while grocery shopping, likely in his early days as a speedster. He then showed up in another cameo in 2016's Suicide Squad where he briefly encounters Captain Boomerang before locking him up. If the Whedon cut of Justice League is excluded, then there hasn't been a lot of Miller's incarnation of the DC hero so far. The last time fans got to see Miller was in the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths where he and Gustin's Barry Allen get to share the screen for a brief moment. That cameo, however, is how Miller's version of the character gets the name The Flash.
In the DCEU, Barry Allen's father, Henry, is imprisoned for the murder of Nora Allen, Barry's mother. As in other iterations of the character, he gets a job in Central City Police Department's crime lab so he can one day prove his father's innocence. The Flash movie will likely see Barry continue in that part while also seeing the ramifications of time travel play out. Despite having already suited up and operated as a superhero, this is essentially Barry's origin story in some fashion. He's still not The Flash that people know and loves from the comics, but that'll be the journey he goes through.
Tumblr media
A big surprise for The Flash movie was the announcement that Ben Affleck would be back as Bruce Wayne aka Batman. Given that he had already stepped away from The Batman (which now serves as a reboot for Robert Pattinson's character), it seemed like his time as the Dark Knight was perhaps over after 2017. But it turns out that the DCEU's Caped Crusader will be joining Barry for another big adventure after the Snyder Cut drops on HBO Max. What part he plays has yet to be revealed and it's also unclear how much Affleck's Batman is in the actual story.
But the fact that the actor is still wanting to play Batman in the DCEU might mean that Affleck isn't completely done as some thought. Even though Bruce's father won't be in this take on Flashpoint, it doesn't mean Bruce won't be affected by Barry's actions. Perhaps the reason Affleck is in it, is to appear pre-Flashpoint as well as after Barry tries to restore the timeline to some degree. Given who else appears in the film, this Bruce may cease to exist because of Barry saving his own mother from being murdered, which would bring in another Batman.
RELATED: Why Ben Affleck & Michael Keaton Can Both Be The DCEU's Batman
Tumblr media
While Affleck's Batman is showing up, there will actually be two incarnations of the infamous DC detective. Before Affleck was announced to appear in The Flash movie, it was revealed that Michael Keaton would officially be suiting up again as his character from the Tim Burton films. Given that the story is leaning more into the Multiverse concept, it opens up the opportunity for someone like Keaton's Batman to appear. This will be an older version of Bruce Wayne from that franchise that was established to exists on Earth-89 in Crisis on Infinite Earths. When Barry changes the past and returns to the present, Keaton's Batman will somehow be the DCEU's current Caped Crusader as a result of Flash's actions.
This is basically the film's way of having a Thomas Wayne figure (who plays a big role in the comic book) without having the actual character. Barry will get to engage with a different Batman that is still Bruce Wayne, but not the one he is used to. A big aspect that Keaton's Batman brings to the story, however, is that he'll be the one to create Barry's brand new suit. But given that he's reportedly going to be considered for additional DCEU projects after The Flash, it's likely Keaton's Batman is still around post-Flashpoint. Perhaps this paves the way for Keaton's character to star in a Batman Beyond project that takes place in the distant future of DCEU.
Tumblr media
Another surprise that was recently revealed was the casting of Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl. This will be the first time a Latina actress portrays the character in live-action. Currently, Melissa Benoist players the Arrowverse version on her own Supergirl show that is set to end after the upcoming sixth and final season. It's unclear how big Supergirl's role will be in The Flash and if it's a result of the Flashpoint event that she's suddenly in the DCEU. But The Flash movie will set her up for bigger things in the DCEU's future as there's a reason why she is specifically showing up in this film. One scenario is that the Flashpoint timeline rewrites history and has her be the last survivor of Krypton rather than Kal-El. Instead of Clark, Kara was the one to make it to Earth and become the planet's ultimate protector as Supergirl.
This will be the second big-screen version of Supergirl after Helen Slater played her in the 1984 film. There was a Supergirl DCEU film in the works a few years ago that was reportedly paused for unknown reasons. But with Calle now cast as the latest version of the heroine, it's possible the feature film is now being considered again. Since there haven't been any announcements yet on additional installments with Henry Cavill's Superman, perhaps this is a sign from Warner Bros. on who their new main Kryptonian will be going forward. Although, hopefully, this might actually mean that Cavill's Clark Kent will have another family member to interact with within future films. After all, Man of Steel did partially set up Kara's existence within the DCEU through its prequel comic book that came out ahead of the film.
It's also possible the introduction of Supergirl in The Flash movie will lead her into a future (and potential) Man of Steel 2. Either way, fans of Supergirl should have every reason to be excited as this will be the first time Kara gets to engage with other Justice League characters in a shared universe. With Kara now added, it seems she may not be the last DC hero to join the cast. Since the film is currently in production, more characters can be announced very shortly. Whether they are new or old DC players for the DCEU, fans can expect more faces to pop up in The Flash movie.

My Justice League, by Me
I've never really been one to write fan-fiction, not since I was a kid and I used to make dozens of Transformers comics. But one thing I did used to do quite a bit – which is obviously fan-fiction – was write synopses, outlines, and treatments for film or TV adaptations of my favourite properties (this was about 10-15 years ago; I don't really have the time nowadays as I'm trying to write my own original stuff). I think I thought, however unlikely, that maybe one day I'd be in a position to pitch for them, and I wanted to be prepared; and, indeed, I'd be lying if I said I didn’t still harbour some faint hope of one day being in a similar position, even if I don't genuinely think I'll ever get a crack at a big superhero or sci-fi movie or anything like that.
One thing I wrote – back when the prequels were still coming out – was a treatment for a whole new Star Wars trilogy, my own Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. I know the first one was going to be called The Ancient Fear and the last one The War of the Jedi, but I can't remember what I'd named Episode VIII; I do remember I was trying to avoid "The Adjective of the Noun" type titles and go with something similar to The Empire Strikes Back, but I just can't recall what I'd decided - something like The Broken Prophecy I think. Anyway, I might write more about these some day. I also wrote a very detailed outline for a Star Wars mini-series, but I'm not saying anything about that at all, in case I do ever get a shot at pitching any kind of Star Wars story (novel, comic, game, whatever).
Something else I wrote – and I'm pretty sure this pre-dates the Marvel Cinematic Universe – was a detailed plan for a Batman/Superman team-up movie. Indeed, it was designed to serve explicitly as a jumping-off point for a wider shared universe; I think I was inspired by the release of Superman Returns and Batman Begins and just wanted the two heroes to share a universe (it might have been even earlier and inspired more by the Justice League cartoon). So here I present, mostly from memory as I can't seem to find my original documents, a very brief summation of Young David's DCEU.
World's Finest: the ideas for this one were the most fleshed-out. It was set about a year into the careers of Batman and Superman. In brief, the plot centred around Luthor attempting to prove that Superman was dangerous and that he was the real hero. In doing so, he ends up creating Parasite (who proved a physical threat to Superman) and also releasing Joker from Arkham, to stage a bit of chaos (Joker's doctor, Harleen Quinzel, is taken hostage at the same time and essentially "becomes" Harley Quinn over the course of the film, although she never donned the costume or fell in a vat of acid or anything). The basic idea was that the film was a buddy-cop movie: Superman was open-hearted but very by-the-book, Batman was caustic, sarcastic, and all about the end result. They never have a physical fight in the film at all, but ideologically they're on different sides until the end of the second act, when Supes realises that Batman is far more of a hero than a vigilante, and Bats realises that he can't win this fight alone and his way isn't always the only way. At the end, they form a loose partnership; the Joker is back in Arkham, Parasite is locked away in STAR Labs, and Luthor is halfway to being ruined politically and financially (although still free as they couldn't pin anything on him).
World's Finest: Trinity: the sequel brought Wonder Woman into the mix. This film was a bit less well-planned. I'm going to try to be honest about my ideas, although in retrospect I think they're a bit "male gaze-y"; not that the film was salacious, but the idea of a "battle of the sexes", however it was framed, is absolutely not something I'd do nowadays, and I disagree with its interpretation of the Amazons. I was inspired by the comics I was reading, and at the time I viewed them as warriors first and foremost, and often quite anti-male. Anyway, the basic idea is that the Amazons start invading and attacking/assassinating prominent (male) figures. But this new character, dubbed "Wonder Woman" by the press, turns up to protect them. Supes & Bats attempt to find out who she is, who these "Amazons" are, and why they're attacking. Bruce has to get a bodyguard, and is assigned one Diana Prince – you see where this is going. Catwoman, Zatanna, and Poison Ivy were all in it. It is revealed ultimately that Circe had bewitched Hippolyta and Diana had been banished for opposing her mother, but at the end the villain is defeated, peace is restored, Diana officially becomes Wonder Woman and remains in the world at large. I still think, broadly, the plot works, but introducing Diana as an adjunct to Batman and Superman rings a bit false to me nowadays, as does introducing the Amazons as enemies (even if ultimately they're redeemed by the finale). Like I said, it's not the plot I'd write today.
World's Finest: Justice: The final part in the "trilogy" so to speak was – naturally – a Justice League movie. Now, by this point, I anticipated having a Green Lantern origin movie, and possibly Flash too, so these characters wouldn't be brand-new or introduced here. This film I'd planned the least; the villain was actually Mongul, who was (I believe) using his "Warworld" (which was a Death Star-like space station bristling with armaments) to conquer earth and build a slave army (I think his ultimate aim was either to defend himself against Darkseid, or win favour by providing him with an army; I forget). He may have used Starros to enslave the populace, I can't quite remember. It was Martian Manhunter who united the League (this was conceived in the days before Cyborg replaced J'onn as a founding member). Robin was in the film – I may have planned for there to be a Batman & Robin movie in between this and Trinity – and played a crucial role in the film's climax, freeing the League when they were all captured. I'm trying to remember who was actually in the League; Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter for certain; I think I may have skipped Aquaman; I'm pretty sure I wanted another female character but I'm not sure who I went for – Zatanna, I think, as she was introduced in the previous film and I always like having a magic-user on the team. As a nod to a wider universe or sequel-bait, it was firmly established at the end that there was a worse threat than Mongul – specifically Darkseid, who was turning his attention to Earth.
So there we go. I had, naturally, planned further – I know that I envisioned a kind of two-part Justice League sequel (I think called Justice League of America and Justice League Unlimited) which was all about Darkseid’s invasion, with a cliffhanger at the end of “episode one” where Superman is apparently killed, and his resurrection being a significant plot point in “episode two”.
Now at the time of writing I’ve still not seen Justice League. I’ve read some reviews and I know it’s not very highly thought-of. That’s disappointing. I don’t know if my ideas are any better; certainly, apart from some concepts from my first World’s Finest plot, I’m not sure I’m awfully fond of most of it myself anymore. I’m not even sure why I’m posting this at all, but I guess sometimes you have stuff that you’re thinking of and it’s kinda nice to get it off your chest. And, for me personally, it’s fun to imagine an alternate universe where a Batman and Superman team-up movie was more optimistic action and sardonic comedy than people miserably shouting the word “Martha” in the rain.

Justice League Cinematographer Shares New Image of Ben Affleck's Batman
Tumblr media
Justice League's cinematographer, Fabian Wagner, has shared a new behind-the-scenes image of Ben Affleck's Batman on social media. Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the character first debuted all the way back in 1939. Since then, he's been adapted for screens both big and small by a myriad of actors. The translations have ranged from knowingly campy to extremely gritty. Affleck debuted as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He later reprised the role for a Suicide Squad cameo, and more prominently in Justice League.
After directing Man of Steel and its subsequent outing, Zack Snyder was immediately set to follow them up with the DCEU's first official team-up movie. He ultimately had to step down midway into production, however, due to tragic circumstances. Directorial duties then passed to Joss Whedon (The Avengers), who helmed extensive reshoots and made numerous changes to the plot. In the wake of the film's underwhelming reception, numerous fans joined forces to call for Snyder's original version to be released. Many of the film's stars have spoken out in favor of the campaign, including Aquaman actor, Jason Momoa. Most recently, Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld vowed to support the cause at NYCC.
Related: Justice League: How Batman Was Different in Zack Snyder's Original Cut
Posting on Instagram, Wagner shared the image earlier today. Declaring that "Sunday's are for bats" and that "every bat loves a good backlight", the image has already garnered thousands of likes. Fans have also been vocal in their fondness for the shot. Wagner followed in the footsteps of Amir Mokri and frequent Snyder collaborator, Larry Fong, who served as the Director of Photography on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, respectively. Wagner occupied that position on Justice League. Check out the full image below:

In recent years, Wagner has also worked on multiple episodes of Game of Thrones, including such acclaimed, battle-heavy episodes as "Hardhome" and "Battle of the Bastards". He also worked on the recent cult favorite movie, Overlord, and contributed to episodes of BBC's Sherlock - which starred Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular detective.  Wagner recently expressed his own support of the "Snyder Cut" movement. He also previously declared that he was equally disappointed by all the changes made to the film.
This isn't the first image released retroactively following Snyder's departure from the DCEU. In May, the director himself shared an image of Cyborg in STAR Labs. Later in the month, the director also offered fans a glimpse as what would have been Silas Stone's emotionally impactful death. Away from the tragedy of the Stone family, Snyder also teased an appearance of Uxas - the being that would one day grow to become the intergalactic tyrant known as Darkseid. This new image, however, is sure to add fuel to the fire regarding the "Snyder Cut" campaign.
It's easy to see why. For all the criticisms levied as Snyder as a director, he and his various directors of photography are often able to capture some truly beautiful imagery. The admittedly simple shot of Batman is no exception. Known to primarily work in shadow and under the cover of darkness, the rare image of the Caped Crusader basked in rays of sunlight is sure to captivate fans. What context the moment served within the story and Snyder's original plans for Justice League, however, will, for the time being, have to remain the subject of speculation.
