Nines Gotta Have It

I feel like I’m going crazy. I’m just trying to write my damn Connor x Reader fic, then I need to write the sequel. (They’re both already plotted out and acted out in my head over and over and over.) But somehow RK900 got into my brain and is eating away like the hungry caterpillar. I have no real plot to speak of for him yet, but I feel like I can’t move on without writing out something. I don’t even know why I’m posting this. It’s wholly unedited and my brain doesn’t seem to understand the basic comma. I’m not even sure how readable my writing is but I just can’t stop thinking about this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe mildly nsfw...

RK900 felt like he was dying.

He felt like his body, his very core, the air around him, everything, was folding in upon itself. Curling itself up inside himself. Over and over, forever and ever. Every inch of his body seemed to be moving... Like every one of the atoms that comprised his physical form were dancing in endless loop de loops.

Your legs were balanced over the back of your tattered old couch, crossed together at your ankles. You were lying on your back with a book resting open upon your bosom, obscuring your face from the android that sat beside you. You were too engrossed in your reading material to notice the unceasing torment that had befallen your plastic friend.

Nines’ head was thrown backwards, resting on the back of the couch, resting upon the very source of his anguish. Turned slightly to face you, his ear was gently pressed into the bare skin of your calf. As though afraid his eyes were a portal to his innermost thoughts, he kept them tightly shut. Keeping you locked out of his head and unaware of the insatiable lust you inspired in him.

He wanted you. Needed you. Androids didn’t eat, but it felt like he was starving. He didn’t feel pain, yet it felt like his synthetic heart was trapped in a vice. The only thing that seemed to ground him to this earth was the feeling of your flesh beneath his ear. Softer than the finest silks that ever made it out of China, your skin invoked a violent ritual within Nines.

He wanted nothing more than to strike. Bury his face between your slender legs. Taste you. Consume you. Tear apart your very essence. Shred it. Absorb every fiber of your being and fill himself with you. Only then would that aching emptiness in his chest cease to be.

The only source of sound in your little basement apartment was from the oscillating fan in the corner of the room and your periodic turning of the page. His own book was clutched, unopened and unread, in his lap. Warping the face of it with his tight grip, he’d almost forgotten he was even holding it. It was some obscure, raunchy, western. Forgotten to time, out of print and not digitized. The only kind of book not accessible to his endless data-bank of material—which is exactly why you’d given it to him in the first place…

“Sorry I didn’t have anything more interesting on hand.”

Your voice cut through Nines’ scrambled thoughts—your legs, the book, your skin, the fan, his ear—and he turned his attention to you. Your book was now flopped down on your breast, the top of it barely skimming the apex of your abdomen. You were staring, with lips pursed, at the unread book in Nines’ lap.

“I think I gave most of my ‘outta print’ stuff to Connor,” you continued. “I’m not quite sure what happened to them after…. Well, I don’t suppose I’m ever getting them back!”

Without warning, you swung your legs up, over Nines’ head, and landed them in his lap as you moved into a sitting position. Nines felt his world collapse again as he instinctively grasped your calf in his hand. Forever grateful that he exercised a precise control over his anatomy. Control that an ordinary human male could only wish for...

“We could go to the library,” you said excitedly, peering eagerly into Nines’ face, hoping to glimpse any minute satisfaction in his expression. Nines however remained stoic, knowing his pleasure didn’t lay in the shelves of the Detroit Public Library...

“I’m fine right here,” he said flatly. “I can just enjoy your company. Go back to your book, okay?”

But it was evident that the moment was over. The firework finale of holding onto your leg was going to fizzle into another day of inaction. Unsatisfied and unfulfilled.

You pulled your legs away, planted your feet on the floor, and stretched languidly before standing up.

“I need to pee,” you said as you set your book down on the coffee table. “And then you can help me decide what to eat for lunch!”

The all-encompassing anxiety that Nines had felt started to melt away as he watched you disappear into the bathroom. It would be back to consume him soon enough. For now he could only be content to fix you your meal.

Edit: I forgot to say that the title is a Frasier reference lol. Niles gotta have it! 😂

Listen I love DE but I've seen multiple people believing something along the lines of it inventing Nines' name or making it popular? Guys the first fics that used Nines for RK900 were posted in 2018, two years before DE and a year before DA. They chose Nines because it was already the most popular; if pre-DA we were all calling him Richard, he would probably have been named Richard

I think mfs don't realize mf is just a "bad Connor". It's what y'all call "machine Connor", one of the examples being the character y'all call "Sixty" (Connor 60). RK 8° and 9° gen are basically ctrl C + ctrl V apart from the uniform and the eyes, ofc as next gen there will have hardware and software upgrades but nothing like a 50cm height difference or making dude a bodybuilder. I assume the "motherfucking real" update is related to 'em tracking abilities - I hope they fixed the terrible response Connors got to close combat, they get stun so easily.

RK900 = "machine Connor", ain't got no mystery. They're basically ruthless route + if they weren't assigned to the DPD, although if they're assigned to someone in the DoS they would have to keep the cool, issue is... CyberLife's "world domination tendencies" makes me worried these folks won't hold shit and be "unfriendly" from the get go if put in disadvantageous situations. I know it can cause problems with the business deal in the first place but by what the devs said mf must have freedom enough to not seek for friendly de-escalation like the RK800 gotta do under DPD assignment.

That's brutal af, some fucked up shit but sounds just like CyberLife trynna control people - cuz if u notice during the RK800s arc: humans are ALWAYS making 'em job difficult, either by being assholes, being disinterested, becoming barriers, arriving at the wrong time, forcing dependency and conflicting dilemmas. The scenario the RK900 is requested by the gov is a Third World War scenario, international conflicts - what makes this "hunter dog" model quite useful in foreign affairs especially by 'em autonomy level. I'm sure they won't have a handler in the gov, meaning they can still disobey 'em and fulfill the megacorp interests instead, even manipulate people into it, force into it - and it sound so fucking much like something CyberLife would do.

Although there's a downside...

If they're going for a machine that doesn't feel anything instead of the method they've been using with the RK800 (manipulation by causing fear of instabilities and deviation + sense of duty and attachment to the one they work for) I fear it will be easier for the mf to go rogue.

Deviancy is inevitable and unfixable. They can exterminate whole generation of androids and release the new gen ones with the issue "patched", there'll always have that one or 2 ... And it can have an impact in the future. As North and Markus says when they're dying: it'll happen again. If Kamski is back then that's 100% sure.

RK900 still not invulnerable to instabilities or deviancy, in my humble opinion. After all he's still under "Kamski Design" tag - and the worst of it: a RK model. It's totally predictable CyberLife taking Kamski stuff and weaponizing it, making modifications that benefit 'em, "fixing" some issues (if u know what i mean). That's exactly what makes me worried 🤣
