More for the au!

The basics, Gods, Demigods, Devil Fruits, all exist.

World Gov + Marines try and keep the whole concept of gods and demigods under wraps. Because I'm working with "D's" carry divinity. And having a good chunk of them outright despise the government isn't a great look.

Luffy is a god while Garp and Dragon are demigods. Luffy can shift between physical and 'divine' form whereas demigods don't have that ability.

Luffy is the successor/inheritor of his predecessor's will and own divinity. But not through reincarnation necessarily. One in the same but they are very much so different. His devil fruit and promise to Shanks cemented his place as the successor to the sun and freedom. When gods and demigods start out, there isn't a wholly set future for what will they will have, or the ideals they will embody. Luffy has always had his cloudy/intangible form.

Imagine Garp's surprise when his grandson, who was supposed to join him in the marines, is set to embody freedom and the sun. He was pissed for a solid week about that. Garp also had to deal with questioning where Dragon had even gotten Luffy from, he still doesn't know.

Ace and Sabo were very adamant that Luffy not show off his divine form to everyone, especially if he wanted to become a pirate. He can't be a pirate if the government tracks him down and hides him away at the ripe age of like, 8. Also because having a full god is pretty uncommon, Sabo has heard horror story after horror story of what nobles and those in higher society would do to a god. Sabo is the most vocal about Luffy being careful about that.

Luffy meets Koby, and does an absolutely terrible job at keeping his form hidden. It's harder to control which form he's in when he's excited. Koby was a human with no divinity and big dreams that Luffy adored. So, already excited with a new friend, and the two on their way to Shells town, Luffy sneezed and immediately sold himself out. Koby is a terrible liar and so just elects to never speak on this topic ever. If anyone asks why he has so much knowledge on gods, specifically sun gods, he just doesn't answer. Helmeppo thinks it's funny and immediately pieced together why, because Koby cannot keep anything from him. And Garp has to respect how hard that kid is trying to not completely sell out his grandson, even if the brat kind of deserves it for being a pirate.

Luffy is going to be the Pirate King, divine or not. His crew quickly find out about his side quirk/form in varying ways. Zoro woke up one day with a cloudy demon from hell cutting off his airways. Nami was trying to explain clouds to Luffy and that 'no, they cannot just spawn on your person, that's stupid,' and so Luffy shows her that he is in fact, correct.

Usopp got jumpscared early in the morning, before the sun had risen, when Luffy just appeared behind him and asked if he wanted to watch the sunrise. Sanji was cooking dinner and Luffy got so excited he phased out of his physical body.

Chopper found out while asking Luffy if he had any medical conditions he should know about, he thought it was kinda cool that Luffy can change forms. And is only a little jealous that Luffy has a fully human form. Luffy always makes sure to tell Chopper he's exactly who he needs to be.

Robin found out after talking about 'Nika,' who is thought to be long dead, but is not. And is the captain of the crew she is now apart of. Luffy knows the name is important and it has a certain weight when it's said. He physically feels when someone says his name around him. Robin thinks this is very fascinating. (Also can add some context into poneglyphs, that there is a lot to it, even if Robin doesn't yet know and Luffy wasn't alive/doesn't have that knowledge)

Franky was showing off cool shit he could do with his robotic body, and Luffy was like 'me too!!!'

Brook found out when Luffy fell asleep listening to him play a song, and Luffy slipped back into his resting form of cloudiness.

While both forms have their uses and limitations, Luffy is most comfortable in his intangible form, even if his physical one is the default. He cannot access his divine form after a certain point of exhaustion hits.

Im going to end that there before I have an entire novel in this. But that's the general thought throw up I'm smacking down right now.

Sorry if this is incoherent and not easy to understand lol. I will flesh it out more later and when I have actually thought more about it. Might change things later too. Then I'll probably make a good post about it with actual wellish made context and lore.

With little food to go around, the Dagger Posse must turn to unsavory means in order to provide for their friends and family. Additionally, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell and your brother, Benjamin, have established rights to a gold mine that's now drawing in more and more unsavory characters. Your best friend, Bob Floyd, had insisted you join him for the summer at his family's home along the Carolina coasts. You had been hesitant at first, but ultimately agreed to his request. Satin and Lace

Summary: You have been abducted by pirates under the command of Captain Philip Graves.

Word Count: 2.4k

CW: None I don't think other than this being a complete crackfic AU

Captain Graves winked at you after making some lewd comment on the swordplay of his crew and it made you huff and point your nose up. It was like you had learned nothing in the last 3 weeks on this ship because immediately boisterous laughter rose up at your attitude.

"Apologies darlin', forgot we were in the presence of such an esteemed lady" Graves purred.

You found the man insufferable. When you first met he had swept you out of your manor and onto his ship and you had been scared of him. Now? You don't know if the feeling really held. It was clear that his crew loved him and he loved them. He took time out of his day to teach the cabin boys proper sword form, would help in the galley when the sea was calm and it was decided there would be a 'family dinner' with all the crew getting double rations, gave any crew member that came within reach a loving bop on the shoulder or head which they always smiled at.

So you wouldn't say you were scared of the man as such, if anything you wished he would do something to be more, well, pirate-y. Since stealing you away in the night neither he nor any of his crew had laid a finger on you. They would try to include you in banter sometimes, only laugh when you haughtily refused. But the laughter didn't feel mean. It made some twisted part of you comfortable, like you were being welcomed in to this crew. And that just would not do.

Pirates were not to be befriended and a lady of your breeding could not simply roll over and let them charm you like this. It was such a temptation though. You hated your life in general, parents both dead, fortune and cold, empty manor left to their only child. There was immense pressure coming from every corner to marry, but the thought of letting some man only after your title and fortune stamp his last name on you before climbing inside your skin made you nauseous. It got worse with every caller, each of them thinking you stupider and weaker than the last.

You knew you had garnered somewhat of a reputation now. The nickname whispered around the social circles had made you see red the first time you had heard it, but you had kept composure as always. 'The Unplucked Rose'. Reduced to a beautiful thing to be picked by those vultures, tittering away about how your thorns were only for show but your petals would surely be soft and delicate for any man to touch. The worst part of the whole thing was that they said it as a compliment, as if being beautiful for men was the greatest thing you could ever aspire to be. As if wilting with age before being plucked would be some tragedy.

Here though? On this ship? Not one of the Shadow crew had ever made you feel the way high society had. They viewed your carefully composed airs and graces with humour, as if it was easy for them to see right through you to your heart that yearned to be able to relax for once, not always be poised.

You had thought to be difficult for the Captain when you first set foot on the ship, demanding the best cabin if they were going to abduct you. He had only affirmed that of course you would get the best of everything and given you his cabin, provided ample dresses, made sure him and Oz always served you the best food the galley could provide. You thought that meant he would sleep with you, but he moved his sleeping arrangements to be with his men. It was confusing everything you knew about pirates.

Maybe you could relax, just a little. Nothing world shattering, but would it be so terrible to try and at least enjoy what you could of captivity? You weren't even sure how long you would be here or where they were taking you, this could all end tomorrow and then wouldn't you feel silly for choosing to be miserable the whole time?

"Oh I don't know Captain, with the way Oz and Lerch are holding those swords it seems you have always had a number of ladies on this ship."

The look that Graves gave you was as close to sin as you had ever seen. The slow smile at finally catching sight of you, the real you, not the creature of satin and lace that you constantly had to hide under, made butterflies erupt in your stomach.

"Kitten finally gets her claws out!" Oz laughed and when you looked over you saw he had changed too. He was clearly delighted with this little surrender on your part, coming over to ruffle your hair.

You immediately started to smack his hand away, ending up in somewhat of a play fight as he continued to try and ruffle.

"Watch out, they say that cats hiss before they attack" Lerch laughed, making colour rise to your cheeks at the realisation you were practically hissing at the the First Mate. Then you were laughing too. God, you were laughing and it felt wonderful.

You were sure that you forgot how to breathe when a steady hand landed on your waist, pulling you gently away from Oz. Graves was so close to you now, smiling easily as if holding you like this wasn't absolutely scandalous in your eyes. God, you were not even allowed alone in the same room as a man never mind having one close enough that you could smell the gunpowder off of his skin.

"Now now, leave our little lady be. Not her fault she's got eyes enough to see how bad y'all are with swordplay."

The others laughed and the Captain escorted you back to your quarters, crooking a finger under your chin to tilt your head to him.

"You be careful darlin' or I'm liable to do something foolish" he whispered, his voice booth husky and somehow smooth in your ears.

When his thumb brushed your bottom lip you found yourself wide eyed and leaning towards him. He smiled at you. He smiled at you and not that creature of satin and lace. When was the last time you had felt seen by anyone? This pirate was going to kiss you and oh how you yearned for it.

But he only firmly pressed his thumb and finger to make your head tilt back down and pressed his lips to your forehead before fixing your hair, hand eventually settling to caress the side of your face.

"Your to be husband would have my head if he knew how I felt about you" he said with a wry smile, "if he knew I got to hear that beautiful laugh of yours. Got to know how you like the colour blue because it reminds you of the sea, how I could tell because you always pick the blue dresses when it's storming outside and you can't go on deck and look out. Think he'd not be inclined to forgive me seeing that pretty blush of yours when we're hauling ropes and you think we ain't looking. The pretty blush you have now."

You were entirely certain your heartbeat must be visible now with how it thumped against your ribcage like a wild bird thrashing to get out.

"Husband?" you asked, voice barely a breath at this point.

Graves' smile took on some taste of melancholy you did not care for at all as his hand dropped from your cheek before he took a step back.

"Rightfully should have been with him a week or more ago, but seems my Shadows have been coming up with all sorts of ways to delay the voyage. Galley saying they need provisions, bosun telling me we need maintenance, First Mate insisting we go around the weather. You'll get to meet him in two days if the weather holds. He heard about you, apparently you are all anyone talks about on land. Don't look so scared darlin', he's not a bad man. Worked with him for a time actually, back before I was a Captain. He traded in a life of piracy for something more legitimate, practically owns the whole island we're dropping you off at."

You knew that tears were threatening to spill from your eyes and you hated it. You wanted to scream and rage. This was why you had been on this ship for 3 weeks? Someone had bought you, paid Graves to pick you up and deliver you. Composure, always composure. You shut the door, he would not see you cry.

You knew that cannons were supposed to be loud, but this was deafening. You were aware something was happening from the ringing of the bell and the fact that Velikan had thrown open the door to the cabin to make sure you were inside and then promptly locked himself in with you, standing ready by the door with his sword. You had always found the man in the demon mask fascinating, he didn't talk but he had carved a little bird and given it to you during your first week on the ship. Right now he was terrifying.

He wouldn't even acknowledge you when you tried to ask what was going on, and then the cannon fire had started and you were thrown out of the bed. The wooden floor was not kind to you and you knew you would have bruises if you made it out of this alive. A short bark of laughter erupted from you at the thought that you may die in the bedroom of a pirate Captain in nothing but your night gown.

When another blow rocked the ship the noise suddenly intensified and you felt your stomach lurch as gravity fell away. There was envelopment in a deep cold, your name being screamed, and then nothing.

"Jesus bonnie, gave us a right fright! There ye are, yer ok."

You didn't feel ok, you felt like you were about to hack up a lung. When you shot up to do so you smashed into the head of the man that was leaning over you, him giving a short howl of pain before sitting back and laughing. You didn't have your wits fully about you to try and figure out what was going on, the only thing you could do was have a massive coughing fit, eased somewhat by a warm hand rubbing your back.

"Hey it's ok. You're safe. My name is Kyle Garrick, I'm Royal Navy. And don't worry about Soap over there, most of the girls he kisses head butt him" said the man rubbing at your back. Soap had added a 'sort of, not really' after he had said Royal Navy.

Looking around the deck of the new ship you were now on they at least did look more like officers and less like pirates if you ignored the one in a full one skull mask. You found it didn't really scare you having gotten used to men in masks over the past few weeks.

As Kyle sat you up he draped a blanket around you which you politely thanked him for through chattering teeth. Oh if only high society could see you now, night gown soaked through and clinging to your skin in a way that hid nothing.

"Captain Price" said a handsome man, going to a knee and shaking your hand with a steady smile that felt comforting. He was older than you, but young to be a Captain you thought. Then again, so was Graves. "You've had quite the ordeal. Given where the Shadows were heading, we think they were taking you to Kortac. It's an island about a days sail from here, but you don't have to worry. We'll get you home."

When the Captain went to stand you felt a sudden rush of something. A dam breaking. You leapt after him, grabbing his arm as tightly as you could.

"I don't want to go home" you cried. After that you couldn't stop the tears, couldn't do anything about the words spilling out. You hated home. You wanted to stay on the sea where people saw you as more than what you had to pretend to be. You could not go back and attend parties and laugh politely when the insidious gossips made suggestions about what you may have experienced on a pirate ship. You thought you might die if the assumption that you were impure by their standards emboldened men to touch you without your permission. You wanted to be able to laugh again.

But you knew it was a lost battle. They said they were Royal Navy, they were hardly going to do anything but take you back to your manor. For what felt like hours the only sounds were the gentle lapping of the waves, the creaking of the ship and your sobs.

"The only people who know she's here are us, the Shadows and once they tell him König" said the man with the skull mask.

"Aye. The big man'll come for her. And I saw Phil's face when she went in the water, he'll come for her too. If it hadnae been me diving in there and pulling her onboard think he wouldnae have ran. He'd have stayed and fought even if it meant losing his ship and everyone on it."

You held the blanket tight around you, still on your knees and looking at the four men on the deck above you trying to figure out what they were suggesting. The Captain looked at you with a furrowed brow, some emotion you couldn't pinpoint passing over his face before he nodded and then looked to the skull mask man, the two of them walking off into the ship.

You were confused as Kyle helped you to your feet with a grin.

"You'll need to wear some of my clothes until we can stop at a port and get you something better" he said.

"And dinae worry, we'll teach ye swordplay. That way when König and Graves come, ye can show them a thing or two" Soap added with a grin of his own.

When it hit you that you were staying you couldn't help but throw yourself at them in a tight embrace. Time to find out who the real you was.

Random small-scale Bionicle AU ideas; feel free to ask what your blorboes (or canon-set OCs, provided you explain what their Thing™ is) are doing in each:

Golf (Turaga-centric AU where they all play golf; side-stuff features the Toa Mahri working at a Crazy/Mini-Golf place.)

Bowling-alley (I think I already posted about this ages ago, but I'm bringing it up again to add some context; it's set in a pseudo-80s world, but everyone's still a biomechanical thing. The Metru and Hagah are the staff, Helryx is the manager, and everybody else are the regular bowlers.)

Age of Sail (technically-a-morality-swap pirate AU; the Makuta are further towards the "lawful" edge of the morality-grid, the (non-evil) Toa are more like Robin Hood figures, and the Dark Hunters and Piraka are more traditional pirates. The Red Star is a ghost-ship crewed by the dead, and Spherus Magna is basically Atlantis.)

Superhero (Human AU offshoot where all the regions are modern-day cities and everyone wears modern clothing; the Toa, Order Of Mata Nui etc. are superheroes, and the various antagonists are supervillains.)

Battle of the Bands (another Human AU offshoot, where the Toa Teams and other factions are bands in a mundane setting, and all the major conflicts are formatted as the eponymous style of contest; the main story is set contemporarily to the respective story-arc's out-of-universe storyline, with relevant musical genres (e.g the Inika are an indie-rock band in 2006, facing off against the Piraka, who are a rap-metal band), and the Metru Nui flashbacks take place in the mid-1980s (with the Toa Metru being a New wave act).)

Reversal (AU where the Magnans live in the GSR and the MU characters live on Bara Magna.)

Broken Mirror (basically just Transformers: Shattered Glass but Bonkle,)

Steam-Age (Bionicle, but in a world where the Magnan society was in the aesthetic and technological equivalent of the mid-to-late 1800s; Bota Magna is a large industrialised city, and Bara Magna is essentially the Wild West. Metus is a literal snake-oil salesman. Some areas of the Matoran Universe has progressed past this a bit, with Metru Nui being Art Deco and having Dieselpunk technology.)

MMORPG (yet another Human-AU spinoff, this time with the characters playing characters resembling their canon selves in a popular MMORPG.)

YA Dystopia ("what if Bionicle was an early-mid 2010s Young-Adult dystopian novel?")

Detective Takua (Takua but as a Poirot-meets-Columbo detective in an early-mid 20th century-flavoured world that coincidentally happens to be shaped like a jumbled-up version of the Matoran Universe; showing up unannounced/coincidentally happening to be at the Big Isolated Mansion™, Large Isolated Boat® or Vaguely-Mediterranean Island©, being very friendly to literally everyone there while also using his... Takua-ness(?) to disarm potential subjects and try to catch them out. Also Kapura is there sometimes.)

part 2 of my ofmd monster au! this time it’s centaur!stede :] i won’t lie, part of my reasoning for this is that his name is literally “STEED”. y’know. like a horse. but also i do think it just suits him lol

centaurs can be found all over the world, coming in all different variants, but tending to stay in their respective countries of origin. white, horse-variant centaurs are usually higher up in society and are generally regarded as being very regal and elegant (mostly by each other and the middle class. the lower class couldn’t give a shit about them). public spaces such as stores have a minimum height for ceilings in order to accommodate for centaurs, but the more poor and densely packed parts of cities as well as pirate havens like the republic tend to not follow these requirements, as they don’t see the point when 90% of centaurs would either rather be seen dead than wandering around the slums, or have no interest in visiting in the first place. town docks in general also usually don’t bother with these regulations as it is generally not a good idea for centaurs to attempt to travel by boat. stede, of course, believes he is the exception to this (he is not)

bingqiu au where binghe is a humanoid alien that ends up stranded in earth while trying to escape some space pirates (theyre his excrew, bc they do mutiny?) and since last time aliens checked on earth we still live in caves, so they thought that binghe was most likely dead here. so they just leave him here

BUT SURPRISE, we live in a society

anyway, binghe is PISSED bc while humans have advanced quite a bit in technology, it's still not enough to repair his ship (which conveniently no one notices)

so he's trying very hard (and failing) to settle in earth

ENTER SHEN YUAN who is his usual self, and he meets this really heavens sent handsome (and awkward) guy, that he gets infatuated with, so ofc he HAS to help him settle

shenanigans happen and sy discovers his new handsome roommate is not so human after all (which, hot) and more shenaningans and SOMEHOW mbj finds binghe and comes to earth to help him escape and reclaim his position as pirate captain, but now binghe's not so sure he wants to leave his new cozy and laid back life w sy

-"Double" - Diadop (beware warnings) : "In the beginning, they were only Them. From the moment of their birth, they were Two, and they had no name for Themselves, and they needed none. They watched from behind their eyes, and they smiled and laughed at each other’s passing thoughts, and they cried from the same hunger and reached for the same bottle. Watched film Red recently and anyway AU where after abandonning Uta in Elegia, Uta manages to convince Gordon that 'hey living on a island where everyone is dead is not the best place to raise a kid' and due to a convoluted plot that can only be made by an actual child, they move to Dawn Island.

Anyway this'd be after Shanks last visit there but before Garp moves Luffy to the forest so Luffy is like :D Uta you're not dead (because him and the village totally assumed "she's in a better place to learn to become a musician" meant she died, yeah.)

They probably get into a fight over the fact Uta now hates Pirates and especially Shanks (and refuses to admit she feels jealous and mad over the fact Shanks left Luffy his hat and a dream, when he didn't even say goodbye to her), soon after Luffy is sent to the Bandits, and Gordon finds a job as a music teacher in High Town.

Time passes and Uta forgives Luffy even if she still hates pirates, they probably met a few times but she doesn't truly reconcile with him for a while (maybe after Sabo's "death"?). Ace and Uta hates each other at first but find an agreement in the mutual hatred of their father for choosing piracy over their kids.

When he set sails, Luffy invites her to join his crew. She refuses.

Gordon and her are pretty popular in High Town as music teacher/musicians, despite being outsider. Being from Elegia does bring some prestige, even if the island doesn't exist anymore. They're not part of high society but the nobles being able to invite them as musician for a party is seen as a sign of idk being rich or something.

I guess she still becomes the one piece equivalent of a youtuber but instead of planning to change the world and destroy piracy or something, she ends up somehow joining the Revolution Army. Not so much as an active member, but maybe more the kind that goes around everywhere and brings information and contacts. (I don't have the details in mind though - anyway she does meet Sabo there, but since he doesn't recognise her she just assumes he decided to abandon Luffy and Ace. She never finds out about the whole Amnesia thing - or if she does it's after he gets his memories back. Her abandonment issues are off the charts.)

i love making aus for my favourite things and while i will definitely get to sharing all my many random-but-somehow-work-super-well-aus, ive been thinking about this actors! gorillaz au and holy shitttt man it works so well for so many reasons but especially since an au where the gorillaz members are all actors that just keep working together and the albums are actually projects 1) fits each of their characters really well and 2) each of the albums are so cinematic they could all be movies or tv shows like

CELEBRITY TAKEDOWN: a 2001 dark comedy sit com about a shitty band of nobodies trying to be something while also criticizing society and the music industry. runs for 3 seasons and was a much bigger success than anyone expected. think gorillaz bites from phase 1 type of vibe but with more angst and more content.

DEMON DAYS: a 2005 movie about 4 strangers in a post apocalyptic society trying to survive a trip across the country together and finding new reasons to do so. super strong angsty atmosphere with interesting and well developed characters and action scenes to leave any viewer in awe, even if they got sick of all the green after a while. was an immense success and put our 4 actors on the map even more than ct did, considered to be one of the best films of the decade.

WELCOME TO PLASTIC BEACH: a 2010 movie about two musicians and a dead robot recreation of their dead daughter/sister are stuck on an island made of plastic and need to make the album of the century while also avoiding killer angry pirates, strange whales, gun malfunctions, isolation, and the physical depiction of death itself. all the while, the dead daughter/sister and a missing friend try to find their way to the others despite all the things listed above. it would be a colourful and beautiful shot yet zaney film that wouldn’t reach nearly as much attention as it deserves upon release

WE ARE STILL HUMANZ: a 2017 movie focusing on the lives of 12 people at a club at the end of teh world, showing a glimpse of each of their lives and humanity before the end times. stuart, murdoc, noodle, and russel are 4 of those 12! the movie is political and has stunning lighting and is filled with great music, plus was the comeback film for miss noodle who took a break from acting in her 20s, but the lack of focus character wise meant it wasn’t as big of a success as hoped. many talk about how it should’ve been a miniseries but the movie still works very well regardless.

THE NOW NOW - a 2018 movie about a man dragging his 3 best friends in a spontaneous usa road trip after 1) cutting ties with a significant person in his life and 2) realizing he’s getting older and lonelier and wanting to avoid it all costs. it’s a quieter film with big emotions and stellar writing all about the hurt that comes from missing someone against your own will and reflection and all that. while also not a major hit, it’s a comfort favourite by many who enjoy crying. only thing here murdoc wasn’t involved with because he was busy being hollywood’s biggest bad boy in Jail.

SONG MACHINE: STRANGE TIMEZ: a 2020 anthology sci fi tv series where each season tackles a new set of characters and a new set of problems. this first season was all about chaos, forgiveness, and coping through time/space traveling portals and space cars. though the pandemic made some things very difficult during production, it was considered to be a super fun project for all people involved and is a very fun a lighthearted watch for many who needed it during that year

CRACKER ISLAND: a campy 2022 movie about cults and cult mentality in the modern age through hollywood and comedy. some rich fucker tries to impress a mysterious lady next door with fake cult stuff but she took an interest in his strange roommate instead. the problem is her interest is a bit bigger than any of them thought and through investigation they realize she is like a legitimate cult leader and try to stop her. it’s dumb fun with great vibes and cinematography.

You had often heard of the ship of the Maraurders, the greatest pirates who had ever sailed the seven seas, at least so they said. But that was because they had not yet met you, but that would happen very soon.

It was a stormy night, and the sea was very rough, when Captain Remus's ship hit a wave that would spell the end of his crew if you were not there to save them.

Remus did not realize he was saved until he felt the dirty, wet wooden floor of the ship under his fingers. The wind was blowing hard, filling the night with howls as the rain beat down hard on the deck.

He turned and saw that his men were also safe, including his best friends Sirius and James. He looked straight ahead again, trying to find the strength to say something, even though all the sea water he had swallowed had dried up his throat.

He looked up and saw you. The first thing he thought was how a girl could be on a pirate ship, and second how she could also be the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, and trust me, he had seen some women that sea dog. Your curves were noticeable under your white T-shirt soaked by rain and sea splashes, while your face was protected from the storm by a wide-brimmed hair. Guns and knives were jammed around your belt, and black leather boots protected your feet from the water.

"Thank you for saving us. I would like to thank the captain directly if possible, you know man to man, could you take me to him?" Remus finally asks, managing to regain some of his voice while still on his knees on the floor. Your crew bursts out laughing knowing the truth, but you shush them with the wave of your hand, and they quickly fall back into silence. They have always respected you, no matter how much you were the only woman among them, and that is why you have always been glad to have them as your companions in adventure . You smile as you reach out, take the captain's chin slumped on the ground between your forefinger and thumb and bring him to face you.

"You already have him in front of you Captain Honey." You say in an authoritative, sensual voice. "So I'd say the talk will be more man to woman, than man to man, wouldn't you captain?"

In that momeent Remus realizes he was screwed.

Demeter is a runaway from her garbage arranged marriage and stows away and ends up on New Providence, where she is thankfully immediately picked up by Victoria, as her arrival was foretold by Coricopat, who told Mistoffelees “when she shows up she should join Bombalurina’s crew” with no explanation whatsoever. Cori is usually right though, so they put her up in Munkustrap’s tavern until Bomba next makes port. This will be soon as she is a good captain who docks there regularly to avoid mutiny, as a weird number of her crew have boyfriends there.

Munk and Tugger’s father was a sailor turned pirate. Tugger really took to the life, but Munk was happier taking over their mother’s old bar and making it the place to be in Nassau. Like, if you need to find someone or something, Munk/Vic/Misto are the ones you ask; nothing goes on on New Providence they don’t know about, including the details of all the crooked traders the pirates can sell their stuff to.

Misto and Vic are also runaways, they’ve just been at it a bit longer. They were the illegitimate Kittens of some British lord guy who died, and since the 1600s were a particularly rotten time to be an orphan, they decided to take their chances on the seas. Alonzo, then an honest(ish) sailor and cook, takes them under his wing. He becomes quite protective of them, and they all end up going rogue together. The twins both get on quite well with Demeter, and help her get her new life started. They run front of house at Munk’s tavern.

Bomba is unflappable and intelligent, and after hearing what Cori said, agrees to take Dem as a sailmaker, as their last one got dead and she can sew. She’s intrigued by why Cori said to take Dem, and it takes her a while to see she’s in love. Dem is instantly terrified and impressed by Bomba, but grows to love and trust her. They really start to bond when they realise they both became pirates to escape the expectations of Queens on land/in society. They have several Moments™ when Dem does stitches for Bomba, who is always in the thick of the action.

Tugger and Bomba have been besties since kittenhood, they see each other as brother and sister. Tugger is a natural flirt, but everyone knows he’s totally gone on Misto, the sassy tux barkeep. Tugger will often play this off as being less than it is, but he knows he’s very much in love and will spend all his time docked trying to flirt with him. No one is actually sure if they’re a thing or not, but since this AU was written by me, obviously they will be.

A/N: This one is a story I really wanted to write, seven wasn’t really something that Taylor wrote to be about homophobia but a line in the song inspired me to make it such. The song is sweet and bitter at the same time and I hope I was able to capture its essence here.

Please picture me in the trees, I hit my peak at seven feet in the swing over the creek- I was too scared to jump in, but I was high in the sky with Pennsylvania under me.

Are there still beautiful things?

There were still beautiful things, in the cool summer breeze under the golden sunset I saw you, the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. I was confused, I was a young boy that didn’t know much, but I knew I fell for you that day.

Sweet tea in the summer, cross my heart won’t tell no other. And though I can’t recall your face- I still got love for you.

I loved you, the amber halo around your head, and the earth in your eyes. Skin soft as silk and a smile that rivaled the sun. In my eyes. You were perfect, but, I’m but a young boy. I don’t know what I am just yet. I didn’t know that I wanted you until your image faded from my memory with old age.

Your braids like a pattern, love you to the moon and to Saturn. Passed down like folk songs, the love lasts so long.

But no matter how much you’ve faded you still make my heart beat like the drums in that night in summer, my stomach flutters with butterflies with the scent of your skin. You made me feel alive in a world that wanted me dead.

And I’ve been meaning to tell you I think your house is haunted, your dad is always mad and that must be why. And I think you should come live with me and we can be pirates, then you won’t have to cry,

FIRST AU you get is one you already know all about, however I will talk about it anyway because I love it; my pirate AU.

In this one, Scar is the youngest Elven prince, the sparest of the spares of the heir, and one day just ups and disappears, stealing one of his mother's naval ships on his way out. This world is sci-fantasy but the Elves, while they definitely have a compulsion magic and Uncanny Valley going on (think eyes a little too large, teeth a little too sharp, mouth a little too wide, skin a little too smooth- like a porcelain doll, or a finely crafted mask) do not have the level of magic they do in Midnight, and the Elves are rather technologically advanced as far as society goes.

So Scar steals an Elven naval ship, and the thing about Elven ships is, through a combination of clever architecture and nigh-incomprehensible redstone engineering, can fly. The ship has wing sails. So Scar now has this amazing vessel that no one outside of the Elven kingdom has ever seen, and ofc the outside navy wants it, as do certain pirate crews...

Now, Scar builds a little, but loyal, crew and embraces his new title of pirate. Mumbo is his first mate and by the time the story starts they've already become lovers- which a lot of people think Mumbo absolutely mad for, because Elves were once upon a time predators of humans and humans (and related species) still feel an instinctive fear of them. They're being chased by the navy, the Elves are searching for their wayward prince (no one on the crew, not even Mumbo, knows Scar is a prince), and Ren- a rival pirate- is chasing them because he, too, wants the flying ship. Shenanigans ensue, Grian is acquired (and he has his own mission which Scar and Mumbo offer to help with, which he only accepts after he finds out the ship can fly), there's a literal ocean of sand somewhere along the way... and along the way Scar and Mumbo's relationship, which starts pretty surface-level based on mutual attraction, deepens into actual genuine love, and then Grian gets thrown into the mix and kfdjkgfdjkkj-

SECOND AU you get is the Dragon Hunters AU, loosely based off of HTTYD, in which Mumbo and Xisuma are brothers. Xisuma is the chief of their... village, I suppose you can call it; the village started as a band of dragon hunters many many many years ago, and their ancestors got stranded and settled down, and now they still go out to hunt dragons but it's more of a self defense thing now. Mumbo, being the wet cat mechanic he is, is a terrible dragon hunter. His family and village love him of course but no one really believes he has what it takes. Grian is his best friend and the one person who believes him him 100%, but Grian has some secrets of his own.

Scar is a dragon rider, a clan of Elves that have adapted to live harmoniously with dragons (LOOK you can pry Elf Scar from my cold dead hands I am not letting him go). He's the younger brother of Gem, who is the princess and heir of their Elf clan. Scar is absolutely fascinated by the complete wet cat energy Mumbo gives out when he fails to kill a dragon, this time not out of inability but because he doesn't have the heart to, and thinks this one can be redeemed (Scar had gone to save the dragon from Mumbo but would have arrived too late had Mumbo not been a soft heart).

Anyway that's. Pretty much all I have for this lmao

THE THIRD AU you get is Mumbo Lives In A Sentient House And The House Is Grumbot AU. I need. A better name for it. But basically Mumbo is a hermit, possibly a vampire again because vampire Mumbo is just so good, but also possibly just Some Guy™ or something a little eldritch flavored. Either way, he lives in a house- a manor or maybe even a castle- that is continuously changing. Its walls change, its layout changes, doors change location, windows change, rooms move, stairs disappear. This house likes no one BUT Mumbo, and Mumbo lives peacefully and safely inside. Of course Grian and Scar, two guys who grew up in the village the home overlooks and heard all the stories of hauntings and mysterious disappearances, go to the house because Scar's cat, Jellie, ran inside an open window.

Once more, Mumbo's absolute wet cat energy combined with his much more aggressive house is just. Mwah. Sadly I don't have much more on this AU, as it's more of a plot bunny, BUT. Here it is <3
