No jk, but I do love cherry a true Icon. I really hope the sk8 fandom doesn't like- forcibly turn him into something he's not. I don't remember where I saw it or where it came from, but someone compared Cherry to Sugawara (Haikyuu!!) and like, how Suga was fanon-ized into this caring, mother-esque- archetype instead of the big brother fire-starting gremlin Senpai he actually is. Like Suga is still a teenage boy and for sure has started fires at Seijoh, but everyone is just like Sugamama <3333 (Yes I know my other blog is called Sugamamacustard, but I was fresh in the fandom when I made it and in too deep to change it now) . and I'm just hoping that this doesn't happen to cherry?

Like I appreciate the 'Mama' joke that Miya had going on, but thats just what it is. A joke. Miya, Langa and Reki have parents of their own and loving ones at that, and Cherry and Joe are very much like- Older brothers or uncles that will shove you down the stairs for calling them old.

Where did the Asahi is Jesus thing come from. Like, I'm annoyed by most of the, I guess, "main" fanon versions but I can at least somewhat see where they're coming from even if I personally disagree with them. But the while asahi is jesus/religious thing. Not only is he religious but he's also catholic/christian/some other religion that worships Jesus? I'm not saying he can't be obviously, I just don't get where it came from to get so many people writing it. It's not even really that funny after the same time because it's usually the same 2 or 3 jokes about holy water or taking people to church. Is this just about his looks or is there something I haven't seen that adds to this? There are so many other ways you could write asahi. I've seen people write him a bit more sarcastic and done with it all (because he's with friends) but still liking cute wholesome things. He's quite sensitive but at the same time takes teasing from his friends fairly good naturedly. He's gentle. If you go into headcanons you've got all sorts of possibilities. The same can be said for all the characters, there are so many ways to write these characters and the main fanon versions (Sugamama, innocent hinata, kageyama only ever insulting people, dadchi/deadchi (only because I've seen the deadchi joke way too many times and it's just not really funny to me anymore). Now I'll admit this is my fault, most fandom content I've seen has been YouTube texting videos but I've also read texting fics on ao3 that did pretty much the same thing but didn't have this problem. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like the creators like this version of characters they're just writing it because it's more common. I admittedly have never read an asahi fanfiction which is something I do kinda want to remedy because I do think asahi is quite underrated, so if you have any Asahi fics you like, please recommend them. Also Princess Angel on YouTube actually has some of my favourite versions of all the characters but their asahi especially has a place in my heart. They do a lot of poly ships content and it's texting videos but they all kinda feel like friends. Like there's no excessive bullying and they're all supportive of each other and the ships aren't toxic. It's nice they do a lot of wholesome videos and fluff videos. I dont think I've ever seen a genuinely angst video from them so if this sounds like you're type of thing I do recommend. But yeah all this is my long winded way of saying where did religious/Jesus asahi come from and why was it so popular?

Also sorry if this comes across as rude to the content creators who use this version. I dont mean hate or disrespect, I'm just genuinely curious why you chose this characterisation or this version out of all the possibilities. If this is what you enjoy writing and how you like to imagine this character that's fine. We just have different opinions about this character and we should all write this character however we want, watch whatever content we want and enjoy whatever we enjoy. Im just trying to get a better understanding of where this idea came from.
