Kagome sighed dreamily, laying flat on the plush bed, admiring the curtains that draped around the bed posts. Her new room was beautiful, bigger than her and Sango’s apartment, the bed itself massive and comfortable. Deciding she would need to send pictures to Sango, once everything was unpacked, she giggled, wiggling her body happily as she sank deeper into her bed.
“You seem to be laughing a lot at the strangest things.” Inuyasha playfully voiced from the doorway. She peeked up at him from her spot, sticking her tongue out at him. He chuckled and walked towards her, settling himself on the corner of the bed, giving her more space than she really wanted.
“Inu,” she bit her lip, sitting up to face him, “Why did you ask me to live with you?”
“I like your company. Plus, you seemed like you could use the help. Are you unhappy to be here?”
“Oh, not at all! I love your home, well my home now too, I guess.” She giggled, still riding on that high. “I just wondered, plus I like spending time with you as well. I did want to know something else.” She felt her cheek warm and twiddled her fingers in her lap.
“Yeah?”
“You’re going to live much longer than me, I don’t want you to be alone, since I’m only human. You asked me to spend the rest of my life here, but what if,” she glanced down, “what if were to live as long as you did? How could I do that, to fulfill my end of the bargain?” She felt his finger under her chin, raising it so she stared into his eyes.
“Are you making another deal with me, Kagome?”
“I’ll do anything to be with you.” She breathed, shuddering at his tone.
“I’d have to make you mine, once that happens, you’ll live as long as me.” She nodded, her breathing stopped and she didn’t dare move as he moved closer, looking from her eyes to her lips. She licked them softly, biting the bottom one. When he rumbled softly, she felt herself move closer, her eyes closing softly. Inuyasha.
———————————————————————————————————
When their lips met, she sighed dreamily. She moved her hands up his chest, feeling it rise and fall with every shuddering breath, vibrating against her palms. She moved her lips in sync with his, feeling one of his hands wrap around her waist, hoisting her into his lap. She gasped as he reached with his other at the nape of her neck, holding her in place. Her insides were feeling funny, clenching at his gentle roughness. She moaned when he gripped her hair and she could feel her inner thighs growing wet.
“Inuyasha.” She murmured between kisses, swallowing his gasps when she pulled him closer, gripping his shirt.
“Say it again.” He began to trail kisses down her neck, softly nipping behind her ear, her collarbone and throat. She continued to moan softly, her hand going to his hair to keep him there.
“Inuyasha, Inuyasha, Inuyasha.” She repeated as he continued to suckle her neck. She continued to sit there in absolute heaven, when she got an idea. She raised one of her hands to find his ear, rubbing the appendage softly, stroking it in time with his lips.
She heard his soft growl and giggled, when suddenly she was thrown to the pillows, her hands up above her head.
“You’re playing with dangerous ground there, Ka-Go-Me.” He smirked at her.
“What if I want to play?” She whispered hotly, biting her lip, looking at his lips. He growled once more, leaning down to capture her lips in his, swallowing her loud gasp. She brought her leg up, to rub against his jean clad thigh, the rough fabric on her bare legs heightening her senses. She groaned softly, her body feeling like it was on fire everywhere he touched, his lips soothing every nip. She bared her neck in submission, thrilled when he growled loudly against her skin.
She moved her hands to his abdomen, rubbing his solid muscle underneath, slowly pushing his shirt up. He paused his kissing for a moment, to pull his shirt over his head and she took the opportunity to sit up and begin kissing his chest, tracing his demonic swirls. He paused, gripping her upper arms gently as she ran her lips over his pecs, softly nipping his tanned skin. He snarled, pushing her back to the bed.
“Tonight, will be all about you, love.” He leaned forward, touching his nose against hers and she shivered. “Are you sure? There’s no going back, once you’ve made a deal with me.”
She nodded, smiling for him, her heart leaping in her chest.
“I’m sure. I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with you, if you’ll have me.”
“You drive a hard bargain woman.” He snickered, kissing her deeply. She pushed back, gripping his shoulders to bring him as close as she could. His hand ran up her stomach and she arched forward, desperate for his touch on her skin. She heard a rip and pulled away to look down, her tee shirt ripped apart, exposing her bra clad chest. She arched her brow at him and he grinned sheepishly. She pursed her lips at him, before shaking her head at his impulses, despite it being attractive.
She yanked him forward once more, crashing her lips to his. His claws grazed her bare stomach and she shivered under his touch. She arched her back, desperate for more of him. She reached behind, unclasping her bra so she wouldn’t shred that too. When she yanked it off, he latched on to her left nipple and sucked hard, causing her to cry out. Oh fuck me, yes!
He plucked the other with his fingers, suckling on her chest like a new born babe. She arched her back again, gasping out, calling his name as the wetness between her thighs soaked her shorts.
“Oh my kami, Inuyasha.” She breathlessly gasped and heard his chuckle. Her hand latched onto his hair, gripping it tightly, while the other held onto the silk pillow above her head. She was in heaven and didn’t think it could get any better, but oh, was she wrong.
He continued to give the other nipple the same treatment, bringing more gasps and moans from her, his name in every other breath. He worked his way, softly nipping at her belly, and she clenched as he hit a ticklish spot. She giggled and he smiled against her skin, kissing it softly before continuing downward. As he neared her most sensitive area, she held her breath when she felt his hot breath through the fabric of her shorts. His patience ran thin as her shorts were ripped from her body and he snickered at her loud gasp.
“Inuyasha! Stop ripping my clothes off!” She snapped at him, his actions making her even more hot and bothered, keeping that thought to herself. He shrugged at her, his eyebrow arching when she groaned and laid her head back against the pillow. He began kissing her inner thigh, switching to other, ignoring the spot she wanted him the most. Whimpering a bit, she stifled a groan when she felt his lips getting close to hers, only to pull away. When he licked her from bottom of her lips, all the way to the top of her clit, she moaned in ecstasy, feeling her body begin to tremble in excitement.
If she thought she was in heaven before, she must have died and come back again. He continued his exploring, his tongue bringing her to new heights, when she felt a deep coil in her body, ready to snap when he latched on to her clit, sucking hard, her vision going white.
“Oh my kami, INUYASHA!!” She screamed, her thigh clenching around his head, back arched and her mind going blank. She was vaguely aware of her body vibrating, every inch of her skin on fire as he continued lapping at her. She sighed happily, her body coming down from her high, when she heard his chuckle.
“Not a kami babe, only a demon.”
She rolled her eyes, grabbing his forelocks and bringing him up for a kiss. She gasped, tasting herself on his lips and he growled, pushing her deeper into the mattress. She began to unbuckle his pants, her body even more desperate for his. He helped her unbutton his pants, yanking both his jeans and boxers down, and lining himself up at her entrance. He looked into her eyes one more time, his chest heaving, making sure she was ready for this decision. She smiled, giving him her best genuine smile, bringing him close once more.
As his lips softly brushed hers, he thrust his hips forward, the both of them groaning at the wave of pleasure. She wrapped herself around him, eyes rolling in the back of her head as he thrust forward once more.
“Fuck, Kagome.” He growled, snarling a bit as his thrusting fastened sloppily.
“Inuyasha! Please!” She cried out, clawing at his back, her nails digging in as he made her go higher, not sure what she was begging for. He snarled louder, ripping her arms from his back and flipped her over, yanking her ass in the air. He leaned forward, gripping the hair at the base of her neck, and whispered in her ear, his fangs grazing the skin.
“Your pleasure is mine. You are mine, forever.”
Her body hummed, trembling as he thrust back into her, his words igniting the flame inside of her.
“Yours. I’m yours, as you are mine.” She sighed back happily, pushing back into him, urging him with her body to go harder. He grunted, using his other hand to move her her lower back lower, her face pressed into the pillow. She held her hands out, pushing against the headboard for leverage as he began to go harder, pounding against her. Moaning in bliss, she felt her body go tight once more, his growls vibrating against her back, the fire a raging inferno in her lower belly.
“Inu, I’m gonna, I’m gonna,” She tried to say, her own words lost in her pleasure, groaning.
“Come for me, baby.” He groaned, gripping her hips, pushing him deeper into her core. She whimpered, the feeling of it all too much as he reached his hand around to rub her clit and she exploded instantly. Her orgasm ripped through her, stars flashing before her eyes as she screamed, his name a mantra on her lips. She felt his teeth sinking in her shoulder blade, his cum filling her and she shuddered, orgasming once more.
She sighed happily, groaning a bit as he pulled out before turning her over, so she lay her head on his chest. She drew lazy circles, tracing his markings, her body humming as he traced a mark over and over again on her shoulder. They lay like that for some time, her eyes closed in bliss and she fell into a deep sleep, safe in his arms.
———————————————————————————————————
She blinked her eyes, sunlight coming through the large windows, warm underneath Inuyasha’s arm.
“Morning sleepy head, you slept all night.” He smiled, kissing her bare shoulder softly. She hummed, snuggling into his arms deeper.
“A certain demon wore me out.” She giggled.
“Are you planning on going to the bar today?” He asked, nuzzling her shoulder, her skin tingling where he bit her the night before.
“Only if you come with me.” She bargained.
“Oi, who says you can make another deal?” He softly nipped at her, causing shivers down her spine.
“I think since I’m spending eternity with a demon, I’m entitled to make a few deals myself.” She laughed and he joined in, the both of them ready to begin their new life together.

Three days had passed and Kagome had returned to work, everything seeming normal again. Koga hadn’t returned, but Ginta and Hakkaku had once, apologizing for their friend. She merely smiled, gave them a round of drinks and sent them on their way. She hadn’t told Sango yet either about Inuyasha, but had told her about Koga pushing his luck and that he was no longer allowed back in her bar. Sango hadn’t taken that very well and wanted to kill him.
She looked around her bar, the empty stools feeling more and more like a death sentence these days. She had decided to visit her father today and he wouldn’t even look up from the television at her, his hand wrapped tightly around a handle of vodka. She hadn’t stayed more than five minutes, only to bring in the mail and take out the trash. She had almost begun crying when she saw the shattered picture frame of her parents in the trash. Removing the photograph, she tucked it in her back pocket before dropping the trash out the back.
Back at the bar, she reached in her back pocket, pulling out the worn photograph once more. Staring down at the woman, she brushed her fingers over her face, sniffling a bit. Mama, I miss you. Her mother had passed almost six months ago and because of her focusing on the bar, she hadn’t really had time to grieve. Her father’s drinking had run the business into major debt and she hadn’t even heard from her brother since New Years. Wiping a stray tear from her cheek, she folded the photograph back up, slipping it back into her pocket. Grief sure has a funny way of presenting itself.
Glancing at the clock, she figured someone would be in shortly for a nightcap and decided she could go ahead and start on her front of house inventory, keeping an eye for any patrons. Grabbing the clipboard and a pencil from the office, she heard her front door chime, signaling a customer. Putting on her best smile, she headed back behind the bar, ready to serve the patron and gasped at the man who walked in. Inuyasha frowned at her as he took a seat on the closet bar stool.
———————————————————————————————————
“Why were you crying?” He asked, glancing at her hand. “Is it your hand?” He reached forward, his clawed fingers grazing her palm softly, she trembled and pulled her hand back in shock. He stood quickly, knocking over the stool and backed away. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have, uh, done that.” He muttered.
She could see he was panicking and held her hand up.
“Wait! I’m okay, look.” She set down her clipboard and pulled the bandaid off, showing a solid pink line that had formed over the cut. It was still a little tender, but she had pulled away because she liked the way her body reacted at his touch. She realized he thought he scared her or was disgusted by her. “Your claws just tickled a bit.”
“Tickled?” He stared at her in horror. “My claws don’t tickle.”
“Well, they did me.” She giggled at his horrified expression. “Your face! I’m so sorry!” She began to laugh louder and he smirked, sending butterflies in her stomach.
“Tickled. Alright.” He shrugged, shaking his head, smiling at her softly as he bent to pick up the knocked over chair.
“Bourbon again?” She asked, reaching for the handle.
“Nah, it’s not my favorite. I prefer scotch, Macallan or Johnnie Walker if ya got it.” He mused, setting his chin in his palm.
“I got you.” She smiled over her shoulder, pouring him a double of Johnnie Walker Black. “So, um, how have you been?” I’m an idiot. The demon who saved my life just arrived back at my bar and I asked how he has been. Kagome, ya idiot. He smiled at her and shrugged, despite her inner turmoil.
“You gonna tell me why you were crying earlier?”
“I asked you a question first.” She smiled ruefully, leaning on the counter in front of him, sliding his drink.
“Technically, I asked first as soon as I walked in.” His fang peeked out over his lip as he leaned forward towards her. She held her breath, staring into the golden depths of his eyes as if they were baring his soul. She slowly leaned closer, feeling his warm breath on hers. Is he going to kiss me?
Suddenly, he blinked quickly and leaned back, bringing his glass to his lips and she shook her head.
“I was crying because I missed my mother.” She whispered, her mind focusing on the almost kiss.
“Your mother passed away?” When she realized he was still talking, she blinked, missing his question. When she looked at him confused, he laughed softly and repeated himself.
“Oh! Yes, she passed over six months ago, from cancer. My father, he hasn’t been okay ever since.” She looked down at her fingers tips, picking at the bar top. She really needed to refurnish it, the wood was deteriorating after all these years.
“I’m sorry.”
She looked up suddenly, surprised. People have been saying sorry, most not really caring and the few who really mattered to her had yet to really listened to her about it. Sango just tiptoes around the subject and her boyfriend Miroku, she didn’t really know all that well yet. Her cousin, Kikyo, came for the funeral, but like her brother, hadn’t spoken to her since the holidays.
“Thank you.” She whispered, smiling for him softly. His apology seemed genuine and while she was thinking him, she realized something. “Can I ask a question?”
“Haven’t you been asking them already?” He smirked. Glaring at him playfully, she waved her hand mockingly.
“How come I’ve never seen you around before?”
“I ain’t your normal demon. You remember when that scum was here trying to hurt you and you prayed for someone to help?”
“So you’re like a kami or a deity?” She asked, surprised.
“Nah, just a demon who makes deals. You made a deal and paid your debt by pouring me a drink.” He crossed his arms across his chest, letting it all sink in. She hummed, nodding her head and turned to grab her clip board. Figuring he would be the only bar guest tonight, she began to count her inventory.
“Does that not surprise you?” He asked after some time.
“You remember what I said the other night? He’s not the first demon to visit my bar, plus with the way my life has been going, I’m not surprised anymore.” She shrugged, writing in her numbers. She heard his soft hum and continued to count. They spent time in easy silence and she briefly wondered to herself when she was that comfortable with anyone, besides Sango, like this.
“Where is your dad?”
“Hmm?”
“Your dad. This is your family’s bar, so why isn’t he here helping?”
“He didn’t take mom’s sickness too well, his drinking got really bad after her death. He barely leaves his chair anymore, drinking handles of liquor a week.” She set her clip board down, staring at the clear liquid in the closest bottle. She sighed, her heart breaking a bit as she swallowed the tears that threatened to fall. Turning towards Inuyasha, she poured him another drink, putting on a smile for him.
“Why do you do that?” He whispered, his voice laced with curiosity. She looked at him, tilting her head, having no clue what he meant this time.
“You put on a fake smile, when everything is clearly not okay.” He murmured, leaning closer on the bar top again.
She had no idea what to say. That fake smile she used a lot for her guests, especially when they were particularly annoying. That was part of a being a bartender, so she shrugged, unsure of how to explain. Ever since her mom got sick, that smile had been her mask, keeping people at an arm’s reach.
“You don’t have to do that with me.”
Her shoulders sagged and she smiled for him, a genuine smile, relieved. Why am I so comfortable with him? He’s a stranger and yet, I feel safe, like he wouldn’t let anyone harm me. He smiled back softly and Kagome began to feel a sense of peace for the first time in a while.
“Are you staying long today?” She asked, reaching for a glass to pour herself some water.
“I can’t for much longer, but I was passing through and saw you, so I thought I would check in on you.” He shrugged, getting to his feet, throwing the last of his scotch back.
“Will I see you again?” She asked quickly, her heart lurching.
“Maybe, depends on if you need a deal or not.” He smirked, his fang glinting again the light. She shook her head and grabbed his empty glass, wiping the bar top of any stickiness. When she looked up to say bye, he was already gone. Smiling to herself, she went back to counting her inventory, determined on getting home at a decent time tonight.
———————————————————————————————————
Pulling the mail form her box, she sighed as more red letter’s were stamped on white envelopes. Past due, past due, respond immediately, past due. Can’t I ever get a letter with some good news? Gathering the bills under her arm, she closed the metal door, turning her key to lock her mailbox. Heading up the stairs to the third level, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket as she reached her floor. It’s after two am, who is calling me?
When she glanced down at the phone, figuring it was a drunk dial, she ignored the random number and inserted her key into the door, careful to be quiet in case Sango was already sleeping. Opening the door, she heard the television going softly, and glanced around the corner into their small living room. Sango was sleeping, leaning against Miroku’s shoulder. He glanced at her and held his finger up, Kagome smiled and nodded.
She headed towards the kitchen, figuring a nice cup of ramen noodles would be good for a quick dinner before bed, tossing the bills on the counter. I can deal with those later. She set her phone and keys next to the pile, not seeing another phone call coming from the same unknown number. She filled the kettle up with water, setting the pot on the stove as she turned up the heat. Grabbing the instant ramen down from a shelf, she didn’t hear her phone buzzing a third time. She leaned against the counter, waiting for the water to heat, thinking about a hot shower to soothe her muscles.
After a moment, the kettle began to whistle and she poured the scalding liquid into the styrofoam cup, closing the lid. Soft footsteps came from behind her and she looked over her shoulder as a sleepy Sango, followed by a grinning Miroku, walked into the kitchen.
“Just get home?” Sango murmured, rubbing her eye, yawning.
“Yeah. Headed to bed?” She smiled at the two. They were really a cute couple, he helped keep her level headed. She was going to tease her for sure for falling asleep on him. Before Sango could answer, the home phone rang and Kagome frowned. Who calls this late? An equally frowning Sango reached for the phone, answering promptly. Kagome checked her ramen, waiting for her to tell her who it was, when Sango’s faced paled, her grip on the phone tight.
“Kagome, I think you should take this.” She whispered. Miroku stepped behind her, squeezing her shoulder in support. Kagome’s forehead wrinkled as she grasped the phone from her best friend and answered.
“Kagome Higurashi? We’ve been trying to reach you. There’s been an accident, it’s your father.”

Kagome didn’t think she could cry anymore, her face permanently puffy and red over the last week. Smoothing her knee length black dress, she looked around the empty bar, deciding that she needed the distraction after the funeral. Sango had made sure she was okay before heading back to their apartment, leaving Kagome alone in the bar.
Grabbing her bag, she headed for her office to change into jeans and a navy tee, thankful she always kept a back up of clothes here. Hanging her black dress on the back of her door, she sank in to her chair and laid her head on her forearms. She wasn’t sure how long she laid there when she felt clawed fingers stroking her hair. Bolting up out of her chair, she screamed, ready to attack whoever had snuck in, fearing the worse.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay Kagome. It’s me.” Inuyasha calmly stated, holding his hands up in surrender. Once she realized who it was, her shoulders sagged in relief. Her emotions had been all over the place, her chin began to tremble and Inuyasha scaring her just push her over the edge. She sank to the floor, tears trickle down her face.
“Kagome, what happened?” Inuyasha crouched down beside her, cupping her face to wipe the never ending stream of tears. She closed her eyes, whimpering as he continued to soothe her. She gripped his cloak tightly, focusing on the deep red color.
“My father died. My mother’s gone. My family didn’t even show up for the funeral. My family’s bar is failing. I’m going to have a shut it down, sell it. I’m so far in debt, I can’t see which way is up. My life is crumbling around me and I don’t know what to do anymore.” She sobbed, bringing him closer.
He wrapped his arms tight around her and pulled her into lap, stroking her hair softly as she sobbed, her tears soaking his clothing. She continued to cry, mumbling incoherently, while he continued to stroke her hair. Her sobs quieted, but she didn’t want to move, afraid of his reaction. Getting sleepy, she felt him shift her in his lap and was vaguely aware that he was walking with her in his arms. She snugged in closer, her arm wrapping around his neck, keeping her eyes closed. Yawning, she heard him soothe her once more and drifted to sleep in his arms.
————————————————————————————————————————————
Yawning, she stretched her arms up high over head, hitting them softly against a velvet headboard. Frowning, she looked up, only to see a deep shade of red. Sitting up, she realized she was laying in a large plush bed, surrounded by red, silk pillows, covered in a soft duvet. Stroking the blanket, she smiled softly. I should be terrified to wake up in some stranger’s bed, but this color reminds me of Inuyasha. Speaking of, where is he? Wiggling her toes, she pulls the blanket off of her, feeling the room’s cool air brush against her feet.
Still wearing her jeans and shirt, she stood, looking around the room. It was decorated finely, like an old manor, with a roaring fire and lots of books. Maybe he’s a vampire demon, his room is decorated like one, she mused, smiling to herself once more.
Deciding to head towards the door to search for the home owner, she turned, only to see Inuyasha leaning against the door frame staring at her, an amused look on his face. His arms were crossed, his red shirt tight on his muscles, with his markings vibrant against his tanned skin. Ignoring the fluttering in her lower half, she looked at him, pursing her lips, bring her hands to her hips.
“And just what is so funny?”
“I was wondering the same thing actually.” He smirked, pushing off the frame to walk towards her.
“I was wondering if you were a vampire demon, since your room is decorated for their tastes.” She giggled.
“Oi, wench, I like my books.” She giggled some more, staring up at him as he stopped right in front of her. She suddenly had the urge to run her hands up and down his chest.
“Why did you bring me here?”
“You were upset, I did the only thing I could think of. Are you mad?” She shook her head, staring at him in wonder.
“You are the most confusing demon I’ve ever met.”
“And you are the most intriguing and strong woman I have ever met.” She shook her head, smiling and glanced around the room once more.
“Want to give me a tour of your home?” She asked excitedly. She wondered if he had more of an updated home, or if it was old fashioned. Either way, she was determined to see it. He could sense her excitement as well, grabbing her hand in his and squeezed, laughing.
“Come on.”
————————————————————————————————————————————
After what felt like the twentieth room the explored, she stroked her fingers along a wooden rail, admiring the shelves lined with books in the library. She sighed dreamily. His house was beyond perfect, having everything you would need to live comfortably for a long time, including a private movie theater and an extravagant kitchen. She wondered if he was rich, since he seemed so young and she realized she knew very little about him.
“Inuyasha?” She called over her shoulder, reading the titles of the shelf she was currentlywalking by.
“Yes?’
“How old are you?”
“A little over 150, why?” She stopped in her tracks, staring at him in shock.
“What?” He chuckled, clearly amused by her reaction. She blushed and stared, mesmerized by his laugh.
“I’m 154 years old. I’m a demon, so we don’t age very fast.”
“That makes more sense. I was wondering if you were a millionaire or something.” She bit her lip, hiding her laughter at her own embarrassment. He chuckled again, gesturing her to sit in a oversize comfy loveseat. She sank into the forest green cushion, feeling tiny in the seat. Bring her legs up, she continued her questions. After he answered more, he leaned forward in his own seat, leaning on his thighs, a serious look crossing his features.
“Kagome, we need to talk about earlier.” Her stomach dropped, forgetting all about the outside world and her parents.
“I’m okay now, thank you for checking in on me.” She hugged her legs closer, tucking them in under her legs. She stared into the fire, their silence soothing to her mind. She still had a small headache from crying so much, but it was fading.
“I want to ask you something, Kagome. You have the option to say no, but I really want you to think about it.” He spoke to her slowly, keeping her gaze. No matter how he spoke her name, she loved it, the syllables sending vibrations through her.
“What is it?” She asked softly, biting her lip.
“I want to make another deal with you.”
————————————————————————————————————————————
Kagome smiled once more for the fox demon and his wife, a beautiful cat demon, as they paid their tab. Ever since she returned from Inuyasha’s home, her bar’s business had been steady and rapidly rising, keeping her preoccupied with drink orders. It seemed her deal with him was working. As the night came to a close, she locked the door, flipping off the neon sign overhead, her shoulder sagging with relief. She didn’t realize how tired she was, but was thankful in many ways. In the last two days, she had managed to settle her debt with the bank, thanks to Inuyasha and business was growing. At this rate, she could put some money away to remodel the bar and take some time off. She would need to hire someone else to help.
Glancing at the clock, she figured she should get a start on cleaning before heading home to continue packing the last of her belongs. As she polished the glassware as it came out from the dishwasher, she looked back on her conversation with a certain silver hair demon.
“I want to make another deal with you.” He stared at her in all seriousness.
“What is it you had in mind?”
“I will fix all your issues, save your family’s bar, make sure you are financially set, if you do me one thing.” She swallowed, waiting anxiously for his part of the bargain. “I want you to come live with me, for the rest of your life.”
It hadn’t taken her long to decide yes, that she would talk to Sango in the next few days and move her belongs after the weekend. She had loved everything she had seen so far and realized his home wasn’t very far from hers, well her apartment. She didn’t see any harm in this, except for maybe falling for him more, especially if the feelings weren’t mutual. It wasn’t until now, she realized that if she were to live with him the rest of her life, it would be short compared to his. The thought made her sad and she cleared her thoughts, focusing on the task at hand. He hadn’t visited her, told her he would be waiting for her when she needed to move her things, to not worry about handling all her boxes.
She only stared at him in amusement and they had dinner, ordering take out, ending the night talking by the fire and getting to know one another. Looking back, it was clear, she was falling for him and wondered hopefully if he felt the same.
Her conversation with Sango had been a different story, but was welcoming when Sango had pointed out her feelings. She had stuttered over her words after that, blushing hard. Her best friend asked her to do one thing before she left, not including staying in contact at least a few days a weeks.
“Can we meet him first? Miroku and I? I just want to make sure he is who you say he is.” Sango asked, a glint in her bright, brown eyes.
“I don’t think he would mind.” She giggled, picturing Inuyasha meeting her best friends, like he was her boyfriend or something.”
Sango wouldn’t quit teasing her long after that. They decided that when he would arrive to take her back, they would meet. She realized she had no way of contacting him. Frowning at the thought, she carried her cash register drawer back to her office, thankful she decided to close the bar for the next week to get settled in, then deep cleaning her bar, doing minor repairs.
————————————————————————————————————————————
Monday afternoon rolled around and Inuyasha arrived promptly at three, knocking softly on her apartment door. She rushed, opening the door, smiling for him and he smiled back. Butterflies erupted in her stomach once more and she bit her lip. What I would do for those lips on mine…
“I want you to meet Sango and Miroku first, before we go. Is that okay?” She asked softly, pleading with him.
“Sure, anything you want.” He murmured, stepping in. Kagome grinned, shutting the door and grabbed his hand, leading him towards the living room, where Sango and Miorku sat. When they walked in, two two rose and shook hands, everyone introducing themselves.
“So you’re doing this for her, correct? You’re not some kidnapper or a serial killer?” Sango asked, gripping his hand tightly.
“Sango dear, I feel no ill will within him. I think Kagome will be much more than okay, so you can let go of his hand now.” He winked at her, causing Kagome to blush brightly.
“My only concern is Kagome. She will be safe with me.” He smiled, glancing her way. “I enjoy spending time with her.” He added softly. Her cheeks flushed even more and she looked down, embarrassed at so much public affection.
They continued to talk a bit, getting to know one another, Miroku and Inuyasha finding themselves having more in common than they realized. Sango kept sneaking glances her way, waggling her eyes brows in his direction and Kagome thought more than one to herself that Miroku was rubbing off on her. When the sun had begun to set, Inuyasha stood his feet, holding out his hand, wiggling his claws.
“Are you ready to go, Kagome?” He asked. She nodded, placing hers in his.

A Deal With A Demon
Summary:  Kagome’s struggling to keep her family’s bar afloat after her mother’s death. One night, a demon makes a deal, intriguing her to change her life.
Part 1 l Part 2 l Part 3 l Part 4

Dedicated to my dear friend @enchantedink-ag, can't wait to for y’all to read it. Much Love! 💕
“Hey! Kagome! Kagome! Another round for the three of us!” The wolf demon hollered across the bar and she smiled, nodding her before turning her back to him. Koga’s drinking tolerance are the only reason this bar stays open. That, and his affection for me. Rolling her gray eyes, she swung her body around, reaching for the scotch. Pouring three double neats, she slid them across the worn bar top, throwing a fake smile for the wolf demons. “Thanks babe!”
“You boys need anything else at the moment? I’m gonna take a five minute break.” Kagome waved her hands, looking around the almost empty bar. Not staying to hear whatever perverted answer Koga had to say, she snagged her phone and headed towards the back door. Propping it open with a broken cement block, she pulled her phone from her jeans pocket to see a few texts from Sango.
Hey, how’s work? Is Koga back again tonight?
The bank called the home phone again, dod you want me to give another excuse?
I can ask my dad to help you, I just want to help.
I love you, I’ll see you later.
Kagome sighed, leaning against the brick wall, closing her eyes. I can’t keep doing this. Dad’s drinking has just gotten worse after mom’s death. Maybe I should’ve listened to Souta and just left after high school. Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she tried to clear her thoughts, to focus on coming up with a plan on how to save her family’s bar. Sighing once more, she kicked the block out of the way, the metal door slamming close behind her. Glancing at the clock above her office, she winced as the wolf demon’s voice grew louder. Only four more hours to go, then I can go home.
Taking one more deep breath, she rounded the corner, almost bumping into Koga, who was blocking her way to get back behind the counter.
“Koga, I need to get back to work.”
“Kags,” he slurred and she almost rolled eyes once more at the annoying nickname, “All I ask for is one date. What do I gotta do to persuade you?”
“Keep buying drinks and I might just have a night off, but that would take even more drinks than you and your friends can handle.” She grimaced, realizing her words as they came out. His blue eyes lit up brightly and she stepped around him, anxious to get away.
“I’ll hold you to that. Now, another round if you please!” He raised his fists, his two friends whooping along. Gritting her teeth, she turned towards the scotch, pouring another round, praying he wouldn’t remember her proposal when he was sober.
———————————————————————————————————
Fate was on her side this week, Koga had yet to mention their little deal, but night after night, he was in with his friends. Sometimes there were two or three more wolves added, but always at least him and the two twins, who Kagome had actually begin to grown fond on, were there, night after night. They didn’t say inappropriate jokes and whenever Koga was off flirting with another chick, they always checked in on her, making sure she was eating at some point during the night. She always made sure to give them some snacks on the house, especially after finding out one night, they were only here to support their friend’s drinking habit. A week after her one sided proposal, Kagome was finishing up the last round of glassware, the last of the bar guests leaving.
She was humming to herself, the night having been pretty steady, pretty positive she made a dent in the monthly expenses. Polishing the last glass, she heard a door shut loudly.
“Sorry! We’re closed for the night!” She called over her shoulder, focusing on a particular lipstick stain.
“Kags, don’t you remember our deal?” Koga’s slurred words came from the bathrooms and Kagome froze. Shit. Gripping the dirty glass, she whirled around, eyeing a drunk Koga as he leaned against the barter.
“Koga, we’re closed and you’re drunk. Where’s Ginta and Hakkaku?” She sighed, careful of her words. He was known for his temper when he was wasted, having remembered cleaning up broke stools once or twice.
“I think they are at another bar down the road, I stayed back to spend some time alone with you, since you’re my woman and all.”  She wrinkled her nose, disgusted. He stepped around, blocking the only entry way in and out from behind the bar and Kagome froze. “Now, let’s talk about that deal you made me. Did you think I would forget?” He wobbled forward, his legs shaking.
“Koga, back away. I said one date when I got a night off. I have yet to have a day off in three weeks, you know that.” She tried to stand her ground, gripping the glass tighter, glancing around for a way out. He was a demon, faster and stronger than her, so running would be useless, but she could try her damn hardest to fight. He continued to move closer, clumsily bumping into bottles.
“How about we start it right here, the bar’s closed, no one here to take your attention away from me.” He smirked and she could smell the whiskey on his breath. Swallowing a bit, she took a step back, reaching around for something, anything, to defend herself. Her fingers grazed the fruit knife and she whipped her hand, holding the knife in front of her. He began to laugh and she frowned, fear knocking in her belly.
“Kagome, I’m a demon, and unless you’re going to slice me into pieces, that knife isn’t gonna do much.” He laughed louder and pushed her hand out of the way, the knife clattering to the ground. Think, ‘Gome, think! The next second, she use the glass in her hand, crashing it against the side of his face, Koga yelping. Not bothering to check on her hand, feeling the blood drip down her fingers, she tried to push past him while he was cradling the left side of his face. He snarled and wrapped his arms around her waist, throwing her onto the ground. Grunting, she landed on her back, into the broken glass, staring at him with wide eyes. She tried to get up, to roll over, to crawl away, but when she made it a few steps, he kicked her in the gut and curled into a ball, groaning.
“You bitch! I’m going to get what I want.” He knelt down, wrenching her arms away, so she was flat on her back once more. He yanked on her hard, growling in her face and she froze, paralyzed with fear. She knew what he was capable of, that after tonight, she knew she would never be the same. Once he realized she stopped struggling, he let go of one of hands and began to unbuckle his jeans. She closed her eyes, tears falling into her hair and prayed. Kami, please don’t let him kill me. I will do anything to make this stop, please! Anybody, help me! I’ll do anything!
———————————————————————————————————
Whimpering, she failed to notice when Koga stopped moving on top of her and she opened her eyes to see him frozen in fear. Figuring now was her best chance, she shoved him and he backed off, shaking a bit and she frowned. She shook her head and raced to feet, determined to get out of there. She could come back early tomorrow and clean up the mess. She ignored her palm, grabbing the keys and whirled around when she heard his groaning. Pausing to look back once more, she stood a few feet away from the frozen man.
Koga was on his knees, staring straight ahead, his neck pulsating. His eyes were wide with fear and she wasn’t sure what was going on. An icy breeze brushed past her, causing her to shiver, followed by an intense warmth as if something was soothing her. Freezing, she watched silently as a clouded figure emerged out of thin air, his clawed hands wrapped around Koga’s throat. She gasped, as the figure’s body became more clear, his features glowing in the soft bar light. A giant growl came from the figure and when she gasped once more, she noticed two small white ears flicker atop his head, one pointed towards her. His hair flowed down his back, his red cloak concealing the shape of his body, but she assumed he was strong to have a wolf demon on his knees.
His arm was decorated with blue and red stripes, black symbols intertwining through out and she had this sudden urge to trace every single line with her fingers. Shaking her head at her surprising thoughts, she listened closely.
“You dare harm an innocent?!” His gravel voice caused more shivers down her back and she thought she heard him snicker. She counted to watch silently as Koga shook his head miserably. “When an innocent is praying even to a demon for help, you have committed a crime. Leave now, and do not come back. If you do, your balls will be detached and sent back to your mother in a coffin and your head will adorn my desk.” He snarled, bringing his fangs to Koga’s pale face. Koga nodded and was released instantly.
He didn’t dare look at her, only scrambled over the worn counter, knocking over more glassware as he leaped towards the door. Unsure of what just happened, Kagome stayed in her spot, waiting for the cloaked figure to turn around. When no one spoke for a few minutes, she cleared her throat and watched his back stiffen.
“Thank you, for saving me.” She whispered. She could see his fists clenched and suddenly began to be very afraid for herself. Feeling the urge to keep talking, she spoke the only thing she could think of. “How can I repay you?”
He turned around, his golden eyes burning into hers and she held her breath.
“You can pour me a drink.”
———————————————————————————————————
Kagome swallowed and nodded. It was then she realized he was standing in her well and she was blocking the stools. Stepping out of the way, she gestured to let him past, staring in shock when he leaped over the counter. He looks uncomfortable now, I wonder why. She straightened her shoulders, determined to get to the bottom of it, ready to repay him for saving her. She walked through the glass and reached for the nicest bourbon on her shelf, figuring he deserved the best. Forgetting all about her hand, she whimpered when her fingers wrapped around the handle.
“You’re hurt.”
“I cut my hand earlier, breaking a glass over his head.” She answered, her voice trailing off. Setting the bottle down on the counter, she grabbed a clean bar towel wrapping her hand quickly. She’ll deal with it later, figuring it wasn’t too deep. Reaching for a rocks glass, she poured in double and slid it towards him.
“Thank you, again.”
“You said that already.” He mused, a smirk on face. He glanced at her hand and frowned. “You should clean that. I’ll wait.” Surprised at his generosity, she nodded dumbly and headed towards her office to the first aid kit. With her mind blank, she cleaned her wound with alcohol and antibiotic wipes, wrapping the last of the gauze. She headed back to the bar to, grabbing the broom on the way.
“Do you mind if I clean up while we talk?” She asked softly, her mind still somewhat fuzzy. He nodded and she began to sweep the broken glass.
“What’s your name?” He murmured so softly, she barely heard him.
“My name is Kagome.”
“Inuyasha.” Stopping she looked up at him.
“Are you a demon?” She whispered, trying to grasp everything that just happened. He nodded and hummed at him, she returned to sweeping.
“You’re taking this surprisingly well.” He mused.
“Well, I’m used to being around demons, so that part doesn’t exactly scare me.” She shrugged, sweeping the last of the pieces into the pan. She heard his grunt and looked up.  “Why do you ask?”
“You were more emotional when he was attacking you, not everything that happened after.” He waved his hand, staring at her like she had grown another head. She began to laugh.
“Inuyasha, I’m not even sure what happened, but with the way my life has been going, I’m not really surprised at anything anymore.” She laughed again, watching his cheeks flush. She smiled softly for him, setting the broom aside and leaned on the counter. “I know I’ve thanked you already, but really, thank you. I appreciate you helping me.”
She watched him blush harder, looking deep into the glass as he swirled his drink. Downing the rest of it, he stood, looking straight at her. She shivered, hoping he never look away.
“Be more careful Kagome, okay?” He grunted, taking a step back and she loved the way he said her name.
“Are you leaving already?” She asked softly, hoping he would stay.
“You’ve repaid your debt, by pouring me a drink. If you should need anything again, just pray to me.” He smirked, his fang peeking out, raising his hand and snapped his fingers. His body turned into black mist, the last thing to disappear were his amber eyes as they gazed at her. She blinked, staring at the now empty bar. Her phone vibrated along the counter and her mind began to boot back up, focusing on getting the bar cleaned and heading home. Glancing at the screen, she saw Sango’s name pop up.
“Hey San, I’m cleaning up now. Everything okay?”
“Yeah, just noticed it was almost 4 and you weren’t home yet. See you soon?”
“Yes! Getting ready to lock up now.”
“Okay ‘Gome, bye.” She swiped her screen, ending the phone call and looked around. I’ll finish tomorrow, I need to get out of here. Feeling uneasy about being alone once again, she headed to the office for the rest of her things, her mind retelling over the night’s events. As she crawled into her bed that night, the last of the conscious thoughts were of golden eyes and a fanged smirk.
