Light tenderness would be really possessive.

✩ ok so light yagami is literally the worst character you could have as a yandere

✩ omg so i 100% can imagine light getting interested in a junior in his uni

✩ at first, he just doesn't care about you because he mostly keeps his feelings to himself

✩ but slowly he either felt threatened by your intelligence or felt that you were "too pure" for the cruel world

✩ he's stalked you around a few times, sure, following you to events, parties or get-togethers you may be at

✩ he keeps a safe distance at all times in case you become suspicious of him popping up everywhere you're at

✩ he gets your friends to talk to him about you

✩ but he first makes sure they won't rat him out to you

✩ he slowly gathers info about you, from your daily routine to your favourite chocolate - he has to know it all

✩ he strategically places himself in clubs and events you're a part of, inserting himself into your world without you knowing

✩ he even starts sending anonymous letters and gifts

✩ but of course, this is light we're talking about, so there's no way he's stopping at that

✩ he eventually talks to you and befriends you

✩ he tries to get your thoughts about kira too in your convos

✩ he keeps an eye on you both when you're in and out of the uni, constantly trying to find ways to talk to you in the form of study dates or something else where the two of you are alone

✩ he tries to find a secret about you, something he can use to blackmail you into staying with him without giving away his identity

✩ if he finds something like that, something you don't wanna reveal to others, he'll blackmail you with that in those anonymous letters, alright

✩ but if he doesn't, he'll reveal to you in those letters that he's kira and force you to stay with him so he doesn't write you and/or your family's name(s) down

✩ when he sees you so worried about something, he'll approach you asking what's wrong, acting like he's not the one writing the letters because the bastard's such a big fat liar

✩ you eventually tell him that yea there's this dude who's obsessed with me, expecting him to help you

✩ but he's just gonna play his concerned friend role really well, being all like "oh yea? i'm so sorry about that"

✩ while internally overjoyed at the fact that he has so much power over you

✩ he comforts you whenever you're upset, manipulating you into thinking he's trustworthy

✩ light will constantly put you in situations where you'll be alone both physically and emotionally, and he'll be your knight in shining armour, and help and comfort you

✩ he even pretends to look for the anonymous letter sender who claims to be kira with light being a part of the task force and all

✩ speaking of which he will absolutely flaunt his status in the task force - not as a suspect of course lmao

✩ probably trying to get you into thinking he's oh-so-trustworthy

when in reality literally everyone in the task force is suspicious of him at one point or another

✩ talking to him is like talking to tom riddle's diary from harry potter - the more you reveal your secrets, the worse the manipulation is gonna become

✩ so now there are two light yagamis in your world - one, the caring sweet friend, and two, the unknown sender of the ominous letters you're receiving

✩ but when you tell him you're gonna inform the police about this anonymous guy, he reveals to you that he's kira and continues the blackmail

✩ any attempt at retaliation and one of your family members dies, of course

✩ in the rare case that you hate your family (relatable) he's gonna find someone you care about and kill them off instead. and believe me, he's light yagami - he will find someone

✩ he won't hesitate to kill off any other guy who even dares to look at you. he wants no competition

✩ even though he's not insecure, he feels satisfied at the way you don't have anyone in your life except for him. it feeds his ego

✩ and he won't stop until he's the only one you're depending on.

✩ he won't kidnap you - he's way too good for that

✩ no, he'll lock you out emotionally

✩ he'll make sure you have to beg him before even talking to someone who's not him

✩ he'll torture you every single day. he'll make every single minute of your life a living hell

✩ but he won't harm a hair on your head

✩ his threats are never physical

✩ unless you count the death threat from the death note

✩ he will berate you if anyone notices the changes in your behaviour, forcing you to act normal as if nothing's happening

✩ when in reality you're trying not to fall apart every time he takes you out on another "date"

✩ that is, if you dislike him.

✩ needless to say you're gonna have to get used to his presence either way because he's gonna be around a lot

✩ and if he can't keep a watch on you himself he'll send ryuk

✩ and obviously, it's light yagami, so he already has pre-installed cameras everywhere around you - your bedroom, your bathroom, heck even some of your clothes

✩ expect to be either shown off like a trophy or hidden away - there is no in-between.

✩ shown off because he's proud he's gotten his hands on you.

✩ hidden away in case someone kidnaps you to threaten him, in which case he's gonna have to kill you, sorry not sorry

✩ but who knows? if you like him it's a blessing, isn't it? a win-win situation for both of you.

ok!! finally got around to it! sorry abt the wait lol

ok so i’m going to condense these & limit myself for now,, but anyways here’s a little something abt each of the boys

there's more art at the very bottom of this text btw :)

A -

he was the in-house music/pop culture expert. if you needed a music recommendation you could go to him and he'd definitely find you something.

he was a master violinist, but after being scouted for wammy's he set his sights on the guitar and spent years learning how to play. his fingers were pretty much always calloused because he kept losing his picks.

he never lost his irish accent.

B -

he was the reigning king of pranks. never turn your back on him, i mean it, he will hotwire your car to roll down a hill (true story, ask roger)

the thing that set him apart at wammy's the most was the fact that he would just. get the mop out. sometimes. it wasn't unusual to spot him cleaning something unprompted. clean freak b? clean freak b.

after A died, he didn't stay long. he couldn't stand to be under the same roof as L, and for the short while he was still in the house he moved around like a ghost, seething with just. grief and anger. he left without a word, or a note, or any sort of message at all.

L- (for everybody's sake i'll keep this one short)

he's been to his fair share of concerts, shows etc (i'm an 'L actually went out in public' truther till i die)

as teens, A & B helped him deck out his padded cell with posters etc to liven it up, and he never took them down. over time he converted it into a ragtag office

he and roger are not friends. far from it. they so do not get along. L still calls him 'codger' occasionally and roger gets reminded of B every single time.

Matt-

he cuts & dyes his own hair, and he definitely got into stick n pokes (+ bonus: the first time he bleached his hair, he had mello help him & the two geniuses forgot to use toner, so he wound up ginger. everything worked out, though, because he wanted to dye his hair red anyways)

he used to creep downstairs at ungodly hours and raid the newly stocked dining hall for cereal. he has run into L multiple times doing this.

he gives me 'broke his arm as a kid and had to wear a cast' vibes. i can't explain it, that hc just calls to me.

Mello-

like L, he got into his fair share of scraps as a kid. they've bonded over that. (+bonus: he has bitten someone before)

he was fiercely protective of matt & near when he was younger in an 'only i can bully them' kind of way that is so common with siblings.

labb gives me an excuse to imagine him as a big reader so that's what i'm doing! he read the classics as a kid & he wrote in his off time too,, he has dozens of journals that will never see the light of day.

Near-

he arrived at wammy's very young, he was actually the youngest wammy alumni on record.

i haven't gotten the opportunity to draw him with it yet, but i hc him as a cane user! a cane that linda customized for him at L's request. (from now on i Will include it in all of my near art istg)

out of the successor trio, he's the only person who was around when A was alive. he has one vague memory of A, that being A giving him a tiny wordless wave.

❀ mello is usually fine with the absurd things you suggest to do when you're bored- but what? having someone personally pamper him? someone actually showing him that they care about him and his wellbeing? the fuck?

he's just really confused as to why you want to give him a spa day

he's gonna act all tough and defensive when you suggest it as if he's too hardcore for a spa day, but really, he's kinda into the idea

"Please, Mello? Just this once." "Fine- if you insist."

"What is this shit even supposed to be?" Mello glanced from the open container of moisturizer to you, his expression disdainful as he peered into the jar.

You smiled cheerfully, paying no mind to Mello's attitude- after all, he'd agreed to this in the first place. "It's a hair mask! It really helps with dry or damaged hair, and I know you really haven't taken care of your hair like you should be..."

Mello scoffed, but didn't deny this. "I don't have time."

"Okay, Mello," you chuckled, slightly exasperated as you moved towards him. "Here, I'll help you put yours in."

"And now my hair feels disgusting. Happy?"

"As a matter of fact, I am," you replied brightly before clapping your hands together. "Next, we're gonna do face masks!"

Mello automatically recoiled, his face repulsed. "Huh? We have to put this stuff on our faces?"

"What- no, of course not. Face masks are different from hair masks," you explained, tearing open two thin bags each containing a sage green face mask. To show Mello, you took one out and held it in front of your face, making sure your features aligned with the holes in the mask. "See?"

"That looks terrifying as hell."

You couldn't help but laugh as you set the mask back down on the bag. "Think so? Wait till we get to put cucumbers over our eyes."

"Wait- the fuck?"

"You're really pushing your luck here, Y/N."

"Hey- you agreed to this! You gotta go the whole way now."

Mello let out a melodramatic groan, but you could tell he wasn't really annoyed. "Black. I'm getting black."

"Mello. You wear the same chipped polish every day. It's time for an upgrade, dude." You stepped aside from the table behind you to display the numerous bottles of nail polish you'd laid out. "Choose whatever colors you want- one for fingernails and one for toenails. And you can't choose black."

"We're doing both?"

"Pick two colors!"

"What- fine."

"Are you trying to make this weird?"

Undeterred, you shot a wide smile Mello's way, and slightly flustered, he dropped his sullen gaze to the ground. "Not at all. I'm only doing this because you haven't relaxed since the day you were born, so..."

Mello, whom you had forced into a chair, looked up abruptly, no doubt preparing to protest- but realizing you were probably right, he folded his arms across his chest. "Whatever. Do what you want."

"Thank you." You leaned over to kiss him quickly on the nose, to which he turned his eyes to the sky, avoiding your gaze.

༊* he ends up enjoying the massage way more than he expected himself to, although he absolutely won't admit it. well, you can tell anyway.

"You haven't said anything snarky yet," you informed Mello, a brow raised. "Have I broken you already?"

You had already started a hot shower, waiting for it to steam up a little more before it was ready.

"Don't be dumb. I'm wondering if this will be the only thing I can actually get into in this so-called 'spa day.'"

"Hm? What makes this less miserable?" you queried curiously.

"I get to see you naked."

"Oh- Jesus." Now it was your turn to stare at the ground, face hot as you began heading to the shower, Mello beside you.

"So how do you put this stuff on?" Matt asked, popping the container open and sticking a finger into the moisturizer. "You just drench your hair in this stuff?"

"Well, there's a specific way you have to apply it so you get full coverage," you explained. "Here, let me- Matt?"

You hadn't even begun your explanation before Matt had already turned the whole thing over on his head, tapping the bottom of the container to get all of the product out. Unfazed by the stuff dripping from his hair and sliding down his cheeks, he promptly looked back at you expectantly. "What's next?"

Finally, you'd managed to clean most of the hair mask from Matt's face- although there was still glossy residue on his clothes, and his hair was full of product. With an exasperated shake of your head, you set down the damp rag you'd been using and picked up a face mask.

"That looks a little freaky," Matt remarked, an eyebrow raised at the mask you held over your face.

"Clear skin doesn't," you replied nonchalantly, placing it on your skin and moving to get Matt's face mask. Matt, in the meantime, peered into the bowl of dewy cucumbers with an odd look. "What are these for? Do we eat them?"

You spun around instantly. "Matt, no-"

Too late- your boyfriend had already decided to munch on the green vegetable slices, popping at least three into his mouth and frowning slightly. "These taste weird as hell."

"I- good grief, Matt, you weren't supposed to eat them!"

"Really? Wow." Matt sent you an innocently bright smile, cucumbers sitting in front of his teeth. "My bad."

Regardless of Matt's antics, you couldn't help but smile.

nails- manicure+pedicure

"I can totally do my own nails, you know."

"Yeah, well, after that hair mask stunt, I don't trust you around this stuff," you retorted, setting down the barrage of nail polish bottles you had. "Choose two colors- one for your fingers and one for your feet."

"Why don't I just get a different color for every nail?" Matt asked flippantly, bent over to observe the nail colors you'd laid out.

"Because you have too many digits for that. Now choose or I'm choosing for you," you answered, giving Matt a pointed look.

Now Matt grinned in amusement. "Ha! There are easily thirty different colors here. You just don't have the patience." Casually, he danced over to the still present bowl of cucumbers and popped one into his mouth.

You shrugged before laughing out loud. "You aren't wrong."

"Why do I need a massage?"

"Because you hang around Mello twenty-seven hours a day."

Matt gave you an amused look. "What does my hanging out with Mello have to do with me needing a massage? And also, there aren't that many hours in a day. Just saying."

"I know that, genius. What I mean is, Mello is the most uptight person I know, and I'm sure it's not doing you any favors. Now sit on the chair." You indicated a wooden chair in the center of the room.

Matt raised a brow at it skeptically before glancing back at you oddly. "This is supposed to be a massage chair?"

"Well, I really can't go out and buy a big fancy recliner when we're in hiding because the goddamn police are looking for you," you replied with a dramatic eye roll.

"You know, I figured I wouldn't be able to relax with a massage from you anyway, but you're really making it worse."

"I'm still better than Mello."

"Are you?"

"So now you're saying I stink?"

"Matt!"

"Kidding. Come on, let's get in."

"So you're automatically assuming we're showering together?"

"Uh- I'm not sure I know what exactly a hair mask is," Near informed you, eyeing the jars of scented hair product somewhat cautiously. "Will it have any detrimental effects on my hair after I use it that I need to know about?"

"Uh-" Quickly, you snatched up one of the jars and skimmed over the words on the label before putting it down and smiling brightly. "Nope! All good. Also, I had to buy a million of these because your hair is insane and I really doubt you take care of it like you should. You're welcome."

"Thanks?" Near picked up a strand of white hair and twirled it in between his fingertips before glancing up to watch you open one jar. "Do you just... put it in your hair?"

"Pretty much."

Near paused and stared at the jars for a second before looking back up at you expectantly. Feeling his eyes on you, you looked back up at him questioningly.

"Do... you need me to show you?"

"That would be nice."

"Huh- my hair feels... moist."

You had to fight the urge to laugh at how clueless your boyfriend was when it came to these matters. "That's what's supposed to happen- see? No side effects."

"Alright. What will we do now?"

"Face masks!" you announced excitedly, laying out the supplies. Near glanced down at them with a furrowed brow.

"I believe I've seen these before... I may know how to apply one if I can remember correctly." Tentatively, Near took one in between his index finger and thumb and promptly plastered it on his face, looking at you expectantly. "Is this right?"

You blinked a couple of times before smiling slightly. "Uh- yeah. But don't forget the cucumbers!"

"To... eat?"

"Nope! You put them over your eyes to get rid of eyebags."

"Eyebags? I am only nineteen- I don't think those are an issue yet-"

"Yeah? When was the last time you slept more than two hours at night?"

"I get plenty of sleep," Near retorted defensively. "Just last night I was able to-" Suddenly, he cut himself off, mind blanking as he tried to recall a night where he'd gotten an adequate amount of sleep.

You raised a brow at Near pointedly. "Case and point."

You sat on the ground in front of Near, observing his activity with a puzzled look on your face. "I'm a little surprised you decided to paint the ground instead of your nails, but whatever makes you happy." You tilted your head at the art made of several glittery polishes and smelling strongly of chemicals. "What are you making, anyway?"

Near didn't answer, dabbing a few more drops of metallic silver onto the floor before scooting back and observing his drawing.

"Look- I made Ryuk."

༊* bro has no clue how to take care of himself. at all. mentally or physically. he's worse than every other wammy boy combined. it's rare he even bathes properly, let alone does a whole spa day routine

༊* once you say the cucumbers are supposed to get rid of eyebags/dark circles, he flat out refuses to put them on his face

༊* "Ryuzaki. You're telling me you don't see why you need to put the cucumbers over your eyes?"

"No. I think my dark circles give me character."

༊* honestly L kinda likes the idea of having his nails done. he is not at all concerned with the feminine factor he just thinks it looks nice

༊* he sits all quiet and still while you paint his nails with dark blue or black. finally his frog position works out to your advantage because his toes and fingernails are displayed

༊* does everything in his power not to smear the polish once you're done. he will also not remove it willingly for several weeks afterward

massage

༊* l is the one giving you a massage despite your efforts to convince him to let it be the other way around. ur not complaining tho

༊* at first you hear bones cracking and get anxious but it turns out it's pretty refreshing

-matsuda has a very stressful life. he’s a police officer working to catch kira, and he is unappreciated by others most of the time. so coming home to you is the thing he looks forward to the most. you appreciate him no matter what, whether he comes home and helps you with things or if he’s too exhausted to do anything.

-he has to wake up pretty early for work, and he always tries his best to let you sleep. if you do wake up, he can��t help but get back into bed and hold you until you get to sleep again. however, you do like to wake up with him even though he assures you that you can sleep. he forgets random stuff in the morning like stuff he needs to take to work and you want to be there to make sure everything’s sorted. (also you want to help him choose a crazy patterned tie for the day. he has an insane collection)

-bedroom is full of stuffed animals im not joking he LOVES them and depending on your personality, you may have contributed. if you didn’t have any integrity at all you’d be bankrupt from the amount of teddies bought

-i feel like he’s generally a bad cook but has a few meals he does PERFECTLY. you campaign for him to just cook these few meals all the time

-in the morning, he makes breakfast for two even if u don’t wake up and leaves it for you to eat when you do wake up.

-on that same thought, he does a lot of little sweet things. he wants to be around you as much as possible but can’t because of his occupation so he does lots of little things. cooks you breakfast, leaves u little notes, comes home with flowers or romantic gifts like that very often

Notes: I haven't written for L in a while so I went with him. You didn't specify whether you wanted drabbles or hcs so I went with the latter

L would be shocked to say the least.

Having grown up in Wammy's house he's practically spent his entire life surrounded by geniuses in the making, which is why it isn't your level of intellect that shocks him, more so the fact that you happen to be one of the few people on this planet who can reach that level.

At first, he's quite sceptical of you. This isn't to belittle you, but simply to deduce whether you're actually smart or just one of thos people who pretend to be.

Once he's deduced you are the farthest thing form a fake, his actual reaction to you will really depend on how he knows you.

For example, if you're someone from the orphanage he won't be too surprised by your intellect, however, he will want to know why you're suddenly appearing in his life.

If it's to help with the case, L will be subtly annoyed by your presence (something Light will love to take advantage of) but if you're someone akin to Mello he won't hesitate to dispose of you. After all, any connection the two of you might have had in the past is all but insignificant to him.

If you're someone like Light, who he considers a suspect, L won't hesitate to treat you with as much caution as Light. After all, taking you lightly and messing up would be the last thing he needs.

However, if in some sort of miracle, you're completely unrelated to his detective life L will be more than intrigued by your presence.

Would probably go into stalker mode and try to find out everything about you he can just so that he can ensure you're not actually associated to the orphanage or any of his cases.

Overall, L will be VERY wary about getting close to you, and it would probably take months before he gives you the green light and approves of you. Actually being acknowledged as a friend or more than that will definitely take longer.

Unless you have some tricks up your sleeve like Light.

Maybe if you keep up with him long enough, L will want to keep you around for longer, and perhaps then, might accept you as what you want to be for him.

ookay so first i'm gonna info dump about how i choose to draw him bcs i just love talking abt my process & i put way too much thought into my own art lol

i remember some people talking about how i made him look healthier and i've had ppl say that i draw him pretty (which,, thanks sm i try !!)

so i like to mishmash several aspects from different L iterations over the years into my own art! such as the mole on his nose as a nod to the actor ken'ichi matsuyama who played him in L:CTW (& the 2006 dn live actions), and i tend to branch out & draw him with little bits of jewelry because of the 2015 jdrama

and the green jacket that he wears in the musical! (bcs i love that characterization and i think he should be allowed to be more unhinged)

i've noticed that his bitten nails reappear in different media as well, so i try to include those wherever i can

and as for the bitten lips & perpetually scratched knuckles,,, that's mostly projection haha

but anyways here are some more little hcs that i didn't have the opportunity to draw :)

the laces of those beat-up trainers he wears are literally never tied. can he tie them? yes. will he? nope!

he cuts his own hair,, that man has never set foot in a barber's in his life

maybe this is projection but i just cannot imagine him with a posh accent, an autistic non-accent at most

i feel like if he had gone to a proper college he'd have done a course on criminal psychology, and he would have absolutely excelled at the challenge of puzzling out the motives of criminals alongside the just. the crimes themselves.

it's time for cele's stupid death note headcanon of the day !!

during the first week of being handcuffed together, due to extreme tiredness and lack of common sense, one time light tried to push L down a few stairs after being made to go downstairs with him to get more sweets at 4am for about the thirtieth time that night. this attempt ended up sending them both tumbling down two extra flights of stairs rather than three little steps like light originally intended. both of them were so glad that they were the only ones awake at that time because they knew that they would never be able to live that down if anyone else was downstairs.

definitely not either of their proudest moments.
