Personally, I don't have many ships with DT17, other than the ones that are clearly canon. However, on the note of Webby being paired with any of the triplets, I don't really like the idea.

I have a story on AO3 where one of the ships is between two people who are technically family due to the fact that her dad is adopted by his family, but they aren't actually related.

Webby, however, is biologically related to the triplets due to being Scrooges daughter, which makes it not okay with me. She is their mothers blood-cousin; while the Queen of England was fine with that type of romance, I on the other hand am not.

The Debbigail Shippers’ Independence

I’ve seen people who still ship Debbigail even after Frank Angones disrespected the ship and I must say that I’m proud of them. They are heroes to me, they are independent, honorable and noble. So I’ve finally watched the DT17 finale

Thankfully it wasn’t bad despite my fears. Some of my thoughts:

1. Overall it was a good episode, although I wouldn’t call it great %)

2. It’s clear they were planning the 4th season, which would reveal that Webby’s origins are mysterious and Webbyrey Scroogalpatine her being Scrooge’s clone would be hinted and explored in that season, instead of coming out of nowhere now. The weird pacing at the beginning of the finale, too quick introduction of May and June, and the unresolved subplots with Poe and Negaduck hint at it as well. The same reveal was thankfully bearable.

3. That doesn’t change the fact that I feel bad for people shipping Webby with the triplets, even if the reveal doesn’t change the dynamics between them at all - to all of you who still ship Huebby, Debbigail and Loubby: stay strong and block the haters.

4. (warning: my personal pet peeve) I know that it’s bad to praise a family comedy/adventure cartoon for something like that, but I’m glad that majority of villains survived and that some of them got a second chance and were forgiven by the good guys (Doofus in the pre-last episode, May and June in the finale). It could be executed better (especially in Doofus’s case), but I’m in such bitter mood nowadays that I’m glad it happened anyway. Besides, DT being a family cartoon didn’t stop the creators from killing off two other vultures and the Black Heron...

5. I want to know what happened to Phantom Blot and Pepper :( (yup, I shipped them!)

6. Frank Angones’s words about not putting Daisy quickly into the show due to the fact they want her to be more than Donald’s girlfriend sound a bit funny now that we see that her purpose in this show was being Donald’s reward for being a good underappreciated guy. She didn’t took part in the main plot at all and in the finale she’s shown only at the very beginning. Ludwig Von Drake played more important role than her!

I’m just gonna say it. I still ship Debbigail. With two HUGE caveats.

1. Future tense so they’re not literal children 2. AU where Webby was part of F.O.W.L’s project Calendar, an attempt to train super soldiers from birth. Code named April she was found by Agent 22 and rescued from an exploding lab and raised as Webby.

So why do we ship children in the animated show? Is it Bad

So I know many Cartoon fandoms who enjoy watching young characters’ go on wild unimaginable adventures. And some of those characters can be kids who are around 10-12 and we all see them have great chemistry and friendship and that equals shipping for some reason. Now despite that last thing I said I can be a custom to this at times, whether it’s Hilda and Frida from Netflix’s Hilda, or Dipper and Pacifica from Gravity Falls, or even Webby and Dewey from Ducktales Reboot and others. I know I’m not the only one who can’t help but picture that these pairs could be romantic. And why is this? Why do we ship super young fictional characters? Perhaps they have stuff in common or their chemistry is just really great or they had a great bonding experience. You may be thinking the CQ  you insightful lesbian, and you are right on the dot, now why can’t we ship them. Well, I’m not shaming you for that because as I said I am kind of a custom to enjoy some of these ships.

And why is that? Well, they are endearing probably because of how close they are and yes they have stuff in common as well as just trust each other they have they seem to enjoy each other‘s company and they have a great influence on each other where they can be greater together. But those reason also apply to other older characters(teenagers or older) of any show .

Although because they are young it can seem a little gross,   which is why I cannot picture them being in a serious relationship so soon. For most people, you don’t really experience any romantic feelings until the age of 12 or 13 where that kind of thing comes into play. You become a little more interested in it as you grow up, and you see and experience things differently I know this from experience as well as observation.

For most of us, we always like shipping because we are fans. We love these characters and we love seeing them happy. So whether you are a hardcore romantic or just a casual one. Whether you’re happy and content with your own romantic life or you don’t really have anyone romantically in your life it’s still kinda nice to see another person happy especially if it’s characters or real people that you care about.

And for these characters and others that you may think of as well, I don’t think they can get into a committed kind of relationship right away as well as get it right, right away.  A lot of it comes from the chemistry that these characters have in growing up together. More history together gets them to open up one to one another and trust one another. Most romantic relationships can bloom from friendship.

And I always value that, it’s a lesson that I learned since I was a kid that some of the best romantic relationships had started from friendships first. Now I might be getting off track but when I’m getting out is that I believe that these characters can grow more into a romantic relationship further into their lives grow up together. I see the potential of them becoming a romantic pair, for many characters.  I watch it’s very possible that they are going to spend a lot of their time together and as they grow up I do believe that the evolution of their relationship can become something more.

Regardless having a strong family-like friendship is great too but having someone to having to hold for such a long time it’s also such a great treasure.

So why do we always ship children at times because we believe that there is a great future with them, is it kind of a little weird to ship them at a young age? Somewhat but we still believe that there is a great future for both of them which doesn’t make it so odd? But hey we’re fandom people I know I’m not the only one who loves to be creative, imaginative as well as romantic. As I grow older I can’t stop loving all these animated shows and characters and even shipping is enjoyable.  I hope you all enjoy this article, re-blog if you like and or try to message me and we can talk more.
