God I used to play Wakfu religiously until my favorite class got nerfed into oblivion. Seeing it on my dash is such a weird rush of memories

I’ve recently gotten into it, so I’m still fairly hyped and very much a newbie ^^’There’s also talk of more nerfing/overhaul for a few more classes, so a few things will likely change again soon.

Either way, happy to provide nostalgia hits! Sometimes they’re needed.

A Change in Direction

After an extensive period of internal contemplation on this topic I’ve come to a resolution: I am planning to sever my connection and engagement with 40k canon, but not 40k fanon.

At this stage all available data has spelled out for me that it is unlikely that I will ever see an appreciable improvement, within the lore, for the treatment of Xenos characters and plot lines with regards to agency, enjoyment or return on emotional investments.

However; their are still things I enjoy about 40k’s aesthetic and greater setting, even if I feel the canon has become co-opted into nothing but a simplified power fantasy of a singular group of male protagonists winning everything always.

To this end I am from now on going to be, in a more limited fashion, operating on 40k topics on this blog: https://xenosgirllastarchive.tumblr.com/ where I will focus more on writing my own original fiction and discussing original and fan-created content on 40k.

My primary motive here is clear: I have given up on ever seeing change in 40k’s lore situation but I don’t want to leave people who do still enjoy Xenos feeling, as they often do, as I often do, as if there is nothing for us. So I instead want to join the small group of Xenos content creators in creating something for people who don’t just want Marines to enjoy as well.

I do want to, in part, thank @tauman942 and @dedyrks1 since their work on fanfiction for Xenos kept me interested and brought to my attention the Cold Open Stories which I think is a fantastic initiative and intend to fully support. 

I really do wish that 8th could have been the beginning of the 40k lore ceasing to treat Xenos characters and plot lines so poorly, I really do, but that’s come and past and so I feel there is no point hoping for it anymore.

At the end of the day if there is going to be content concerning Xenos lore in 40k which is not them just losing or being minimized, it will almost certainly only come from fans since GW and BL have both shown that, when it comes to lore at least, they have absolutely no interest in Xenos serving as anything but punching bags and measuring sticks for Space Marine characters.

I did not, unfortunately! I haven’t gotten back to that part of the country since, and have since moved cross-country and probably won’t be back in the foreseeable future, sadly. I guess that just means readers should go check it out and report back with data?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but do you often play games on colorblind mode when you aren't recording them?

Some of them. Honestly most colorblind modes look weird. I don’t like it when they filter the entire screen, that just look wrong. I’ve talked about this before, but generally I change the mode if it does something like changing icons/nameplates from friendly/enemy/neutral from green/red/yellow to like green/red/blue or something - just for clarity, not anything else.
