DAY 7: this is very different and im afraid of posting it because I dont know if its good or not because it doesnt look like my usual output

This was made as a concept piece for a drg biome idea I had called "The Spine Mesa"

I just like the idea of a clay and terracotta themed biome, with long, tall pillars and winding, spine-like growths with moss growing on them. It's somewhat inspired by minecraft's badlands

also in the biome there would be a creature exclusive to it which would be like a giant centipede. It would be passive and occasionally you'd see it crawl out of the terrain and then back into it in another location. They subsist on the moss that grows on the spines

I promise tommorow I'm goin back to doing the prompts, I have real good ideas for the next 2 >:)

aight y'all I've been seeing a lot of misconceptions about changelings so imma correct people now

MISCONCEPTION 1. CHANGELINGS CAN ONLY EAT SAPIENT MEAT.

this is straight up not true, we can eat normal food, actually we also need it to survive, but sapient meat is also required for survival.

MISCONCEPTION 2. CHANGELINGS CAN TURN INTO LARGER CREATURES.

also false, we can only manipulate our current mass, we can't defy the laws of thermodynamics; however we *can* provide the illusion of such.

MISCONCEPTION 3. WE HATE ALL SAPIENT CREATURES.

this is by far the least common misconception I've seen yet, its not true.

MISCONCEPTION 4. WE ARE UNABLE TO DIE.

if we we're, then why do we eat people?

MISCONCEPTION 5. IF CHANGELINGS WOULD JUST STOP EATING PEOPLE, THEN WE WOULD ACCEPT THEM INTO SOCIETY.

no. all changelings have crippling trust issues, witch actually served quite the evolutionary advantage, you see dwarfs have been trying to kill us as long as they were on Hoxxes, and we have been trying not to die for longer.

now, here are some real facts.

young changelings need significantly less meat than older ones, i'm about 120 years old, witch is like a 6th of our lifespan. so I only need to eat a small morsel every month.

seeing dwarfs on missions is very common, in fact, but they almost never notice us because we're hiding,

a lot of the time, we can kill oppressors and even some kinds of dreadnought! this is because we have literal full control of our bodies, and can create sharp objects as part of our bodies made of very strong keratin.

we like music, master of puppets slaps.

we are very solitary creatures, I have actually never met another changeling.

I think I was riding adrenaline for almost 2 hrs playing Deep Rock Galactic.

And I failed the fucking mission....

And it was totally not worth it. I had to kill bugs that were so beautiful and get eggs out of this sack and it looked like blood and the noises were so real....

I feel hungover.... I've never played a game this intense that I feel frickin sick and sad.... Those flies were so cute and I couldn't get to the pod 😭 I died trying to go baaackkkk

I know rage quitting is common but is depression quitting a thing?

Oh God I'm gonna have nightmares about those bugs.....
