4.] Delusion of Deferred Satisfaction
aka the Marshmallow Hunger Games
Question: How do people try to solve this problem?
And I'd like to give you a whole slew of alternatives.
There are so many of them that I'm going to categorize
them & give them to you under 4 categories, ready?
These are four alternate ways that people try to deal
with the problem of hope, category:
[A] People who think it, that is satisfaction of your
deepest desires, it is still out there in things.
What do I mean by things? [21:40]
Well you know, love, romance, family, money,
success, achievement, pleasure, political causes!
IT is still out there, if I can just find the right thing
That is category A.
And there are two kinds of people in category A,
many are in this room because you're young; most
young people know they are not that satisfied but
they are so sure that they will be satisfied later on
Because they will get IT!
They'll get the things that they are after, that is
why they're here at the university—getting my
-self into position where I can get these things.
And you have decided what things you want.
Most of you know you're pretty unsatisfied
right now, but you're sure that it's okay cause
eventually you will be. [22:25]
Younger people are dismissive of this whole
problem, they doubt it's a big problem; and
even though you're actually pretty unhappy
in life, the reason why you're not completely
dysfunctional — is because you tell yourself:
“I will be happy later.”
See that's how you live.
You're actually pretty unhappy, you don't know
who you are, you often get down & feel kind of
depressed. But you say, “Hey, I'm just a student
& I'm getting it together.. If I do it,”
You have hopes of the general generic hopes
of the future; & actually an awful lot of young
people today believe that if they're just fairly
successful & they find a love partner, and they
learn some meditation techniques to relax
themselves, that they'll be fine! [23:11]
That's what you want: Some success, some love
—some meditation & I'll be fine..!
........................................................................................
You do not know how deep your desires are.
........................................................................................
You just don't know, you don't understand the
psychological problem of hope yet. [23:24]
The 2nd kind, and this is a sad kind of person,
these are people around my age, or something
like my age, who just never got to their goals.
They never got married & they wanted to be
married. [23:47]
or they never even got close to the level of
success that they wanted in their career, or
they never got into the career they wanted!
And there's a lot of people who were sure that
IT is in this, it's in ABC, now if you're young you
are sure you're going to get to ABC someday.
So you just sort of put the whole hope thing off
But there are a lot of people my age, who missed
ABC, who never got to ABC & know they will never
get to ABC now. [24:18]
But because they never got there, they still live
under the illusion that if they did get there they
would be happy. [24:23]
Now these kinds of folks are often very bitter.
This sounds very weird, but a lot of good social
activism happens because very often if you are
trying to get to ABC & you don't get there & you
perceive that it is some social group that did it,
that some racism or some injustice prevented
you from getting ABC; very often you get very
upset & then you become a social activist, you
you want to change things. [24:49]
You know a lot of good work happens that way.
But sometimes, it's based on the illusion that if I
had gotten ABC, I would have found it! [24:56]
So people who think that hope is found in ABC &
it's in there, younger or older, are folks who are
still living in an illusion. [25:06]
And the people who are older who feel like I've
failed & I'll never get ABC, they can be extremely
bitter, very upset, or filled with self-hate.
Filled with a sense of failure, I never got ABC, the
reason I'm unhappy is because I failed & you get
down on yourself. [25:20]
That's category A.
Not a good category to be in, at least not for long.

Steven and a breeding kink (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
nsfw, minors dni!
“Oh-fuck, that feels good, yeah? ‘S okay if I fill you up? You want it?”
He’s rambling at this point, rattling on and on about how good you feel wrapped around him and how you’re the only one for him. You can feel his breath against your neck as he leans his head on your shoulder in an attempt to hide himself from you-try to have some decency, good lord, Marc says.
Steven’s rutting into you with no other thought in mind, one goal set. It’s clear in the way he has you pinned under him, encasing you in his arms. He’s not usually this pushy, taking what he wants, but you don’t really mind.
“I think you’d look lovely-“ he stops himself, pausing to breathe and lifting his head from your shoulder.
You know what he’s thinking. You always do with Steven, “Lovely how, Steven?” You whisper against his lips and he’s lost his train of thought again. This is dangerous. You could get possibly any and everything out of him.
There’s a whine building in his throat, waiting to move again, “Full of me. You know,”
“I think so too,”
“Really?” There’s a dumb smile on his face now, his cock twitching at the idea of you plump and ready to burst all because of him.
Smirking up at him, you pull him down to your neck again, “Do it, Steven. Wanna make you a daddy,”
He lets out a breathless whine at your words, and follows your orders.

So last night I was watching the JLU episode "The Man Who Has Everything" and the plot synopsis was, "Wonder Woman and Batman visit Superman at the Fortress of Solitude for his birthday, only to discover he's been captured by Mongul." And I'm walking in like "Cool, fun, I'm going to see Bruce and Diana punching Mongul while surrounded by a whole bunch of nifty little Fortress of Solitude easter eggs" but NO it turns out that 80% of the episode is Clark trapped in an Illusory Krypton where he has everything he wanted and it turns out that just boils down to being a chill Dad on a farm (but also the farm is on Krypton which didn't die and also his dad is still alive). And when Clark finally realizes that this Krypton is an illusion, he takes his son by the shoulders and he's like "I love you and I'm so proud of you and I remember the day you were born and how it was the happiest day of my life and I am packed with all of these amazing memories of watching you grow up but I don't think you're real" and you straight-up feel your heart get ripped out of your chest at the concept of Supes having to make the conscious decision to part with all this to get back to reality and save his friends
And when Superman finally breaks free of the illusory Krypton he goes completely apeshit on Mongul and it's so satisfying.
But then also Bruce gets trapped in the same 'prison of what you most desire' and it turns out he just wants to see his dad beat the shit out of the dude that killed him and Martha.
It's honestly kind of funny because Clark's 'perfect prison' was this highly complex conceptualization of Krypton where Jor-El is talking about how it took him years to salvage his reputation after mistakenly predicting Krypton's destruction, and Clark's wife is this obvious fusion of both Lois and Lana, and Clark has to remind his kid to take the dog out, and it keeps cutting back to Bruce's fantasy which is just "Hell yeah, Thomas, beat his ass."

How Highly he Thought of You
Look, I really just want to say that if this is a trial based on Yoda's deepest fears and desires, meaning one of his desires is for Obi-Wan to have known Dooku
If this is how Yoda wants things to be, he wants Dooku to still be with the Jedi and he wants Obi-Wan to know him. Yoda knows Obi-Wan would adore Dooku, he knows that if Dooku was still there, the loss of Qui-Gon might've not ruined him so much, because Dooku would be there and maybe Obi-Wan would've been okay.
Look how Obi-Wan doesn't take his eyes from Dooku, he adores him, he cannot stop smiling and he's just so invested in everything Dooku has to say. This is a child wonderstruck by old stories their Grandfather tells them. This is the Obi-Wan Yoda knows he would be if things hadn't gone how they had. He'd be happy, Yoda sees Obi-Wan's suffering and his strength and loyalty to the Jedi, he sees all that and knows Obi-Wan isn't happy, that he carries such a burden, so in Yoda's utopia there is such an emphasis on Obi-Wan's happiness because it isn't fair for Obi-Wan to suffer so much when he's never strayed from the light.
Yoda knows this, and he knows if he still had those two, Obi-Wan wouldn't suffer so.
Think of Obi-Wan's seat on the council too, we know Dooku was offered a seat and that Qui-Gon was too, then Obi-Wan and Anakin. Their entire (disaster) lineage was offered council seats, perhaps because Yoda, though Jedi cannot form attachments, offered Obi-Wan that seat because of how much it meant for Yoda to have one, one that turned out okay. And maybe Yoda looks at Obi-Wan and sees Qui-Gon, he sees Dooku, and his pain is a little less.
One of my favorite things to do are analysis' like these, if you want to see my take on a certain scenes send a request in perhaps :3

Closed RP w/@darkest-and-deepest-desires
Raven had invited her mother over to stay with her until she can find her own place to live. She didn't mind it, especially since her boyfriend was being so supportive of her. Unaware that her mother's body had completely changed and had gotten thicc. To the point any guy, would want to sleep with her.
Raven gave her mom some clothes and went to the living room, while her mother went to take a nap. Raven sat down and sighed softly, before hearing the door open. "Welcome home. Sorry for not returning your messages. I was busy helping my mom."
