Meet Thimble!
Thimble is a captive bred white footed deer mouse. He is legal for me to own in my state because he is captive bred. Your laws may vary.
Thimble’s story is a bit disjointed because much of it is secondhand. I saw an ad in my local rehoming group for a mother mouse and her young litter. I messaged my friend in the city they were listed in, she had seen the ad as well and inquired. We both thought the babies didn’t look like domestic mice! Turns out the rehomer had gotten them from her neighbor who had been breeding deer mice in her garage. The day my friend went to pick up the mom and her babies, mom escaped. So my friend took the litter and handraised it as the owner wasn’t able to. A few babies didn’t make it but 5 did, and Thimble was the only male so I adopted him and brought him home today.
He is adorable.

‘Beneath the Bird Feeder’ Documents the Spectacular Wildlife Visiting a Wintertime Food Source
During the winter months of late 2020 into early 2021, photographer Carla Rhodes cared for a birdfeeder that hung outside of her home in the Catskills of New York. The suspended food source garnered attention from myriad cold-weather adventurers, including a brilliant northern cardinal, numerous pairs of mourning doves, and furry little field mice, who visited the area amongst the snow and frigid temperatures.

Day 1: Gargoyle
One or both of these guys ended up getting an accidental size change, I think. I admit, I'm not terribly familiar with the Disney cartoon Gargoyles, having only seen one or two episodes in my childhood before going, "Meh," and moving on to something else while I waited for Darkwing Duck to come on. But I can tell you that every single one of the Manhattan gang is infinitely superior to the fever dream that was the comic relief trio in HoND.
Featuring Bronx and Hugo.
Day 2: Scurry
Just a simple drawing of a deer mouse.
