12. How well would your oc handle being placed in a leadership position?

Judi would def be efficient in one! She doesn't have trouble giving assignments for others and she wouldn't listen to any bullshit. She could be a bit tyrannical though, it's hard for her to take into account others' opinions and she's not very good at showing empathy either.

29. If a perfume was to be made to represent your oc, what sorts of smells would be included in it?

It should be something fruity, but not overly sweet... maybe like, dragon fruit with a hint of freesia. And some hairspray.

33. What five objects or things could be expected to be found on your oc’s person at any time? Why?

A small bag of makeup, a comb along with a couple of spare hairbands, and her cellphone. She feels more confident when she can trust to look decent, and the phone is essential for her work. Most often she also has a notebook and a pen, to mark down work-related things and to draw drafts if she gets an inspiration.

51. If your oc was to receive an award for something, what would it most likely be for? Have they received any awards in the past?

Judi would tell you that she deserves an award for growing up with Jonas, but no, she hasn't actually received any. If she was to get one, I think it would be a business award of some sort.

68. What sorts of things would cheer your oc up when they’re down? Is your oc sad often, or is it more rare?

Judi's a bit sad quite often. She tries to take her mind off it by working even harder or then by painting. I'm not sure if it actually cheers her, but it helps to suppress it.

Chapter 1001 was so good omg.... Love those chapters that just make you go, Fuck I love One Piece

I'm still trying to figure out Kaido, I really like him as a villain because he's a classic Big Bad overpowered villain which is exactly what OP needs this close to the end of the story. But at the same time he's got more depth in that he sits on top of a whole web of machinations which isn’t really what you expect from a big bad guy who gets drunk and naps half the time. Like you don’t expect that kind of guy to plan a drawn-out coup of a little-known country, and use its industry as the base of a weapons network that feeds both World Government and pirates. It’s not quite Doflamingo level but it does include Doflamingo and puts him in the same class as him, the kind of power-hungry villain with a plan.

Which I think relates to how he sees everything/everyone as resources? He’s pretty much the only villain who doesn’t see powerful enemies as something to crush but as manpower to add to his own. In the beginning his “join me or die” just felt like his shtick but then we see the way he keeps trying to recruit Kid and Luffy way past the time anyone else would have killed them for the bother/potential danger, and the way his entire prison system serves to spit out recruits from his pool of defeated enemies, and how even this chapter he calls killing the three captains (about to ruin all his plans!) a waste (mottainai)... And his whole plans of constituting a massive army of fruit users really. This chap he also adds enemy crews’ treasure and poneglyphs to that list of resources. I wanna say that almost makes him like a western-type dragon with its hoard, though he’s clearly meant to be an eastern-type dragon. But yeah I’m starting to see how a guy like him, in surface just a drunkard looking to off himself, would become business partners with Doflamingo.

Random other thing that I noticed this chapter (I caught up on 500 chaps of One Piece this year, and in English to go faster, so I missed all these little things) is that the kanji is used to stand in for the “Punk” in Kid’s attacks is... 磁気? “Magnetism”? I know matching fanciful English words to kanji is a mainstay of shonen manga but still I have no idea how you get “punk” from “magnetism” lol. Only other Japanese definition of punk (panku) I know is puncture/flat tire so def not that, it’s prob just about how both those words fit Kid ig

Does it ever say who told the World Government about who Ace;s and Luffy's fathers were? Luffy might be easy to guess because people might know who Garp's son was, but how about Ace. I don't see Garp telling anyone.

As far as i know, it was never specified in the manga who ratted my baby out. But then again, who knows who could have told them? We don’t really know the depth of the WG/Marine’s information network, nor do we know all of the devil fruit abilities in existence.

Think about it? Where did the tip-off come from about Roger “acting like an expectant father” on that island in South Blue come from? It looked like a pretty small island, and if Roger was running around that island, with his crew unawares that he had a child on the way, then folks on that island probably didn’t know that the random long mustached man was the pirate king. And if they thought it MIGHT have been him, would the really think it was though? THE pirate king? On Their Island?? WHy.We saw what happened on Sabaody and the straw hats. People had wanted posters of the entire crew (more importantly, what they looked like) yet there was a lot of cases of mistaken identity running around. (Even from teh straw hats..)

So, it could have been one of the islanders who tipped off the marines to ace’s birth, like “oh, yeah, rouge died in childbirth and then garp took the child away” “rouge was pregnant? Who and where was teh father” “dunno, maybe it was that strange mustache man” “but they say he was the pirate king” “that’d be impossible. the time doesn’t match up” “idk but *luffy voice* it’s a mystery birth”maybe it was the midwife who helped deliver ace; maybe she gave the info up for a nice chunk of change. Maybe it was a random devil fruit ability that somehow granted the user knowledge of something like that. (Violet’s ability allowed her to read others’ minds and their memories, so maybe something in a similar vein??)How did garp get ace to dadan with absolutely no one encountering them on the way? Maybe someone on his crew saw Something™ and they spoke up. Maybe someone in windmill village spoke up. I wouldn’t put it past garp to fecking land in town and then just walk to dadan’s with ace in tow. Maybe one of the prisoners near Roger in impel down heard him?? Maybe impel down’s den den mushis caught their conversation???Maybe one of the drunk assholes in town that ace questioned about roger eventually put 2 and 2 together and bada bing they got 4. as in information 4 the marines.Maybe ace got drunk after left luffy one night and spilled his guts? Maybe he talked in one of his many sleeps?

You say you don’t see Garp telling anyone but also like….do you not remember the scene where he let slip who luffy’s father was lmao He didn’t seem to even realize he said it at first. So there’s defo a chance Garp could have goofed. (But i for one, am not placing the blame on him.) Sober or drunk, i would not put it past him.

TLDR; There’s a lot of things we don’t know about information networks in the OP world, and we don’t know what specific information individual people involved at any number of points in Ace’s life had. Any number of people or abilities could have coughed up the info.

PS: My obsessed butt somehow managed to completely ignore that this was talking about Ace AND Luffy’s fathers... L. O. L. Whoops.So, my thoughts on that: considering the amount of complete and utter shock at the revelation of Luffy and Dragon’s relation, I don’t think most people were actually aware that Garp and Dragon were related. Hell, even the Revo’s closest weren’t aware of Luffy & Dragon’s relationship. Like, most times they would just call him The Revo’s Dragon if anyone was talking about him. And the WG/Marines def tried not to bring too much attention to the Revo’s because they didn’t want their ideas spreading.

Rules: Tag Nine People With Excellent Taste

@bloody-bee-tea tagged me for this, but I have Terrible Taste, so idk what game she’s playing at. Also I’m not gonna follow the rules because I’m too lazy to tag people.

Colour(s): Like favorite colors? Blue and green. Reds aren’t too bad, sometimes. I wear blues and black a lot, but I try to branch out into other colors like deep purples and lovely greens and stuff too. I cannot pull off yellow or orange to save my life tbh.

Last band t-shirt I bought: Oh shit, fuck, I think it was waaaaaaay back in high school, the first concert (for a given word lol) that Ana (she’s def a Fae, or part Fae, anyone that’s met her can confirm) took me to. We The Kings. (We also bought the first CD for The Cab, and learned the lead singer was from my hometown.)

Last band I saw live: Couple months after the above, Ana’s mom drove us to where Warped Tour was and we saw many many bands (and “there was a lot of people; like, a lotta lot a lot.”) I believe We the Kings was there... Mayday Parade too I think? I can’t recall, this was like, a decade ago. Older Sis goes to concerts a lot but never invites me. And I’m not sure I count my uncle’s band, lol.

Last song I listened to: I don’t even know. *checks spotify* Whatever it Takes by Imagine Dragons. Apparently.

Last movie I watched: Hmm... *thinks back* I feel like I’ve watched something else since then, but a weekend or two ago I was on an Ocean’s Eleven movie marathon kick, so I watched all three of those in a row. Oh! I watched The Great Mouse Detective I think on Sunday. lol.

Last three TV shows I watched: Phineas and Ferb; One Day at a Time; The Great British Bake-Off.

Last 3 (*or so) characters I identified with: I mean, idk. The first one that pops to mind is Ari from Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. That was... yeah. There was a lot as I was reading that book where I went “I know that feeling. Oh god I know that. Oh man that’s - that’s so ACCURATE.” Kind of to Cath from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, but not so much “identified” as “related to” maybe.

Book I’m currently reading: Ugh, I’m being terrible and unable to stick with anything I try to read lately. I read a few pages of Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit before misplacing it for a few weeks and now I’m like not in the mood. I keep reading a chapter or so at a time for Big Little Lies. I got Gunslinger Girl to try out and need to read that sooner than later because it’s a link-plus book. (Also coming from link-plus for me: A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue.) ((Also the next Patricia Briggs book comes out in like five days soo.... I’ll def be reading that!))

And if we want to include fics with “books” then... *glances at literal two or three dozen open AO3 tags* *laughs nervously*

Getting into silmarillion again is weird when you are not a 13 year old little fool who just really like them pretty fae people (elves) anymore, cause i’d be re-visiting these lores right now and i’d suddenly remember that all these wars and these sufferings and these PAINS, they are all for...some jewels an elf man made??? hello??? HELLO??? ugh, the whiplash. but like, I mean, i know silmarillion functions as a collection of myths of tolkien’s universe aka Arda ( myths that actually happened in the story universe tho, like we got living witnesses of them lol) and mythology is not supposed to be relatable, they are supposed to be allegories--understood on a metaphorical level. And Silmarillion can feel too grand sometimes when u think abt it too literally: a fight against literal entropy and force of destruction--the devil himself? a war over jewels that shine everlasting light of nourishment and bliss and LIFE no mortals can understand? how do you process these bullshits lol like none of these are relatable, so like, i can def understand why the lores of ancient world of tolkien’s universe can be so off putting but im still super attached to noldor elves? nowadays i see the silmarillion (aka the jewels) as narrative equivalents of the fruits from the tree of good and evil. They are equivalent of objects that made Adam and Eve, human; they are embodiment of joy and life both literally and metaphorically. At the same time, the jewels also embody desire and desire brings both good (life and joy) and evil (death and pain). But they are also...more than that? It’s also embodiment of stolen happiness and lost bliss to the (noldor) elves--these jewels are in a way, lost “home” to them. I suppose, present day me being attached to the noldor elves has more to do with the fact that their story is the story of a people who takes fate into their own hands to regain the life and happiness that are stolen from them, all in defiance of flawed, unjust, deceiving and cruel authority (the valars, equivalent of archangels, but also kinda, gods?). However, in their rebellion out of desire for justice, they strayed further and further away from the happiness and life they so desperately want to regain. The more they try to come home, they further away they are from it. All efforts for peace and prosperity were fruitless victories, and The more they tighten their grip on lost happiness, the quicker it slips through their fingers. They have struggled and they have failed and it was simply not meant to be. It’s unfair and it’s cruel and it’s simply...the way of universe? it’s not a perfect narrative and i do take issue with the fact that attempts to take fate into your own hands in rebellion against unjust authority result in inevitable doom, but noldor elves are just...they come off so passionate and spirited and full of life and so SO human? by the time the stories of lotr happens, all that’s left of them are memories, unmarked graves beneath the sea and lessons written in blood and tears. i suppose they are just...kinda relatable? and that makes their tragic fate more...heart-wrenching? idk. ( i mean, also tolkien wrote silmarillion before he even thought of writing the hobbit or lotr, so these stories are supposed to be full fledged emotional stories as supposed to just, lores to explain the story of silmarillion) but there is some catharsis to the story of tolkien elves (this is not “children of hurin” ok now THAT story is just tragedy porn ok there is a reason it wasn’t published when tolkien is still alive), since they all eventually return to/arrive back to valinor, and yes home is never the same, but they all come home at last. Now, ik da wiki never says that dragon age elves got any inspiration from tolkien but that doesnt mean that there ISN’T fuck tons of similarities b/w both of their histories, or the fact that tolkien’s body of works functions as literate canon for the high fantasy genre since the damn 80s. Anyways, there are two “long walks” that happened in tolkien elves and dragon age elves’ history, one is just called the long walk (where the dragon age elves took to establish the realm of Dales) and the other one is the crossing of helcaraxe (in silmarillion), both taken to take back life and happiness stolen by Evils^tm (in dragon age elves’ case, said evils come in the form of slavery and colonization). However, There is no...valinor...for the dragon age elves. In silmarillion, the way back to valinor, to “home”, to stolen life and happiness, is literally closed in the first age. In dragon age universe, the dalish and city elves alike are cut off from the life and bliss of the past that was stolen from them due to slavery and colonization, no matter how much they long for it. Now, i dont like how bioware writers make dalish come off as people stuck in the past and int he old way (like, thats the reason why sera is written the way shes written, cause they want to make dalish look backward), and honestly i think thats just white writers not understanding the nuance of their own narratives lol. But also, there is some asshole named s*las who wishes to bring back the “past glory and bliss of elven realms” even if it means committing acts of utmost violence. You know, in silmarillion, Maedhros has committed acts of violence to regain the silmarlis, to get that ticket back “home”, back to the life that was stolen from him and his people, and when he truly held the jewels in his hands he realize that they were forever lost to him the moment he shed blood. At the end of his life, maedhros learned that ruthlessly tightening the grip on the happiness of long lost past would only take you further and further away from it, and he paid his lesson with his own life. The sad thing is that, s*las is probably gonna learn that lesson WITHOUT suffering much of consequences, because hes unlikely to be able to bring about actual apocalypse to open the veil, and that kinda piss me off. Even if he dies, i had to spend an entirety of da:i to put up this bitch being in it, and i have to deal with his presence in most of da4 as it seems, and he might not even die miserably lmao. like, i like maedhros, i like noldor elves WAY better than his crusty ass, but they all die horribly when he is probably gonna come out of this whole mess unscathed. rant aside, i wish that....no matter what happened in da4, the elves in dragon age universe, can also eventually find their way back to their “valinor”. definitely not through s*las’ dumbass’ efforts, tho, but, somehow, i hope they can find their way back home or...better yet, find their way forward.
