god I am still thinking about the comic and just. the complete lack of autonomy Corinth2 really has. there are all these scenes where Azazel or Desire will talk about Dream treating his creations as "toys", "playthings", and because they're said by the villains of the story we kind of assume okay, but that's not REALLY how it is, is it...

but then you watch. and Dream binds Corinth2 to the will of a human he just met ("you are bound to the will of Madison Flynn"). and then when Corinth2 puts his foot down and says no, I want to [keep doing this thing you don't want me to do], Dream just... removes his memories. Again. Corinth never gets a moment to get a word of protest in aside from "My lord--!" or "Dream Lord--!"

Not just his memories, but his wants ("I'll simply remove the dream of this hunt from you, as I've done before"), and it's not entirely clear if 'before' means 'when I uncreated the first Corinth.ian' or if it means he's done this over and over again to the second whenever it started to deviate from its 'primary functions' again. I'm inclined to believe it's the second, honestly, especially given Dream's role in this story (being able and willing to move the story around at will 'if he decides he's allowed to'), and that's just.

Well. That's horrifying. And so, SO TASTY.

Maybe eventually, Terry allows Daniel to visit his children. However, Terry makes sure to fuck him good before Daniel does, so Daniel is filled with Terry—a constant reminder of who he really belongs to.

“Your old life is dead, darling,” Terry says low in Daniel’s ear as he fills him up, his boy’s body trembling and sticky in the aftermath. “You know who you really belong to—who you’ve always belonged to. You will not forget—right?”

Daniel manages to nod, trying to even out his voice, get his breath on track. His beloved children are waiting just several floors down, in the lobby of the hotel, a safe meeting spot that Terry has—kindly, he supposes—arranged. But he can’t let them see their dad like this, he can’t let them see him so—.

He closes his eyes. “Yes, yes Terry. Of course not.” Please, let me go to them. It’s been so long. He swallows, tries not to choke up.

There’s a momentary pause, a weight in the air—but then he feels Terry’s smile as he turns Daniel’s head to the side and kisses his cheek. Feels the warning press of Terry’s hand covering his own, grinding his bones into the vanity. “That’s my sweet boy. Now, get yourself presentable once more. You’ve got to look your best.”

He eases up, the weight of his body leaving Daniel’s finally. Daniel slowly opens his eyes, standing up slowly, avoiding the mirror before him—and Terry’s eyes all around. Watching, always.

He hopes Sam and Anthony aren’t angry that he’s a little late coming down.
