Ω PJO DEMIGOD HEADCANONS:
🍇DIONYSUS; God of Wine making, fertility, theater, festivity, and insanity. 🎭
author's note: I had a sudden idea about writing some headcanons Camp Halfblood demigods being claimed and what it's like for each respective god and cabin, followed by a small blurb afterwards. You get claimed in an untypical manner. You heard of demigods waiting for a sign of their godly parent claiming them, with a glowing symbol above their head. Instead, when you get introduced to the camp members, Mr. D appears carrying a can of diet coke and casually states “No need to put them in the Hermes’ cabin. They're one of mine's”
Cue the record scratch. This immediately brings a lot of confusion and gossip. Many eyes look between you and Mr. D who doesn't seem bothered at all. You saw Chiron sigh and place his hand to his face, giving your godly father a disappointed headshake. Then you hear Castor and Pollux yell that they have a new sibling that they didn't even know about?!
You get a lot of looks of sympathy and jealousy. You don't figure out why until a little bit later on. Chiron fills you in with a reassuring voice but also speaks with an exasperated tone to Dionysus 
Although you guys can't make wine or touch anything alcohol related, you did inherit Dioynsus' wine making skills. This includes also being good at making infused drinks or mixing drinks that range from mixing soda flavours together to making your tea blend. Even if the flavours shouldn't work together or whatever the drink type you're making, you just can. You are your own personal barista.
Putting this first and out of the way, you're both in a blessed and awkward situation where you are able to see and interact with your godly parent. Mr. D tries to treat you like every other demigod in Camp Halfblood, and that makes it awkward when you don't know if you should call him “Dad” or “Mr. D”, but at the same time, you know you have it better then others. 
It doesn't mean Mr. D doesn't keep an eye out. When you dedicate your offerings to the gods and look at him when you do it, you can just see Dionysus’ face soften and his eyes have a hint of affection. 
Don't ask how you or your other half-siblings came to be if Mr. D was sentenced to Camp Halfblood. You won't get an answer from but at least you know you're not alone and the twins are glad to have a baby sibling. Get ready for the youngest sibling treatment. 
Dionysus is the God of Theatre so you have a theatrical flare. Even if you're introverted, you're not exempt; this can be applied in how you do certain things or be rather convincing at times. If you're extroverted, well, you're automatically the Theatre kid. 
This turns out to be rather useful in events like Capture the Flag in a state of mania. When the heat of the battle starts to get to you, you feel your godly parent's power begin to rise in you and you can use that theaters flair to rouse your teammate's spirits up. You can also get a bit maniac and effect your teammates and enemies alike and become rather terrifying. 
You have a bit of a green thumb so you can find some solace with the Demeter kids. However, unlike the Demeter kids who can just make plants grow and flourish, your green thumb only really applies to plants you have an interest in like Dionysus with his grapes…or now strawberries. Regardless, you can keep a houseplant alive at least. 
Aside from a few very selected people within Camp, you're one of the few people who has seen Mr.D's true form. Not his godly form or the Mr. D you've seen, but the form he usually shows in front of mortals. Then it becomes very obvious how your other parent became so enamoured. You thank him silently for taking up his current form because you’re not going to be ready to hear about Mr. D being a DILF.
“Welcome to Cabin 12!” greeted Castor and Pollux as they opened the door to the cabin. You looked inside and saw how lived in the cabin was. It was clear the twins didn't expect to have another sibling and judging by the absolute shock that your shared father was supposed to be stuck in Camp, they really didn't expect him to have another mortal child.   
You also noticed on one of their nightstands there were stacks of Coke and Pepsi, each belonging to one of the beds. There were copious amounts of it, and you wonder if being a child of Dionysus was a prerequisite of having a drink as your go-to drink. Like wine fo Dionysus…though you heard he had to switch to Diet Coke due to his punishment. 
“Yeah, sorry for the whole…mess,” said Castor as he looked sheepish. “Pollux and I weren't expecting anyone else to be here, especially since it's been so long since we've first arrived. And you know, our dad, being, well-”
Pollux cleared his throat, “What Castor means, despite everything, we're thrilled to have a baby sibling. We've always been together so we're not that alone, but every now and again, we kind of get envious of the other cabins and having other siblings.”
You smiled when the door is knocked and a new bunk bed is being brought in, Castor and Pollux grinned at you. “Come on, let's get your stuff and space ready, and let's go see our dad.”

I was coparenting a genderfluid demigod child with a bunch of friends, strangers, and also Chris Pratt. He kept acting like he was their real parent and deserved full custody despite not making any attempt to care for or understand them and they clearly disliked him.

Her name means “shining over man" which is like super slay and cool
Her last name doesn't really have that much of a meaning
Her mother, Erika Parker literally sucks so bad
She was super neglectful of Cassie
But luckily she had a babysitter and she was with her until Cassie had to go to camp
Her name was Ms. Adriana
But we'll get into that later
Her full name is Cassandra but nobody minus her "mother" calls her that and she rarely sees her mother since she left for camp
Pretty much as soon as she got to camp she was claimed by Mr. D.
He just walked up to her
Took a giant sip of his diet coke, pointed at her and went like
"Yeah that kids mine"
Out of her four siblings Cassie was the first one to get there
Then it was Dakota
Then it was Castor and Pollux
Her main weapon is a pole-arm and she's very very skilled with it
She also uses it to poke Dakota whenever he's around
She's super super close with the Stolls and Katie Gardener
The four of them sneak out of camp often just to fuck around in the mortal world
Little fun fact: Her brothers are named after the Gemini twins and her zodiac sign is Gemini
Since her dad is the god of madness and insanity
She has control over it
And she's sent several of her mom's boyfriends into the psych ward
She can also control grapevines and has strangled the Stolls and her own brothers with them several times before when they're being annoying
Also whenever Connor makes a move for her wallet (which he does like way too many times)
A grapevine smacks his hand away
All four Dionysus kids have an addiction to a specific drink and for Cassie is Cherry Coke
Most of the time at camp you'll find her sitting on the steps of her cabin, either being pranked by the Stolls or pranking with them
Cassie has some immunity to alcohol. Her brothers have this too but it's more obvious with her because she actually drinks
Her hobbies include, pranking with her friends, losing at pinochle against her dad and yelling at Connor for stealing her wallet for the nth time this week
Her style is a lot of small shirts and big pants
She also has a leather jacket she'll wear from time to time
For training she wears a regular camp-half-blood t-shirt and a pair of shorts
There are a few things about her story that I left out so if I can muster up the creativity to start writing a series about Cassie after I start my Nadia series there ya go

Listen, I love that the demigods canonically have ADHD, that's awesome. But I also would love to see demigods ACTUALLY being affected by it.
Show us demigods struggling with executive dysfunction to teach people we are not lazy.
Show us demigods being distracted by their own minds due to having hyperfixations and zoning out because they were distracted by that.
Show us demigods who stumble over their own words because their thoughts are faster than their speech.
Show us demigods struggling with time blindness.
Show us demigods with ADHD.
Leo was the only one who represented it a bit more than others...or did I miss a huge chunk while reading?
I mean yes, most of them have certain issues and function well in chaotic circumstances, which is often part of ADHD but...I hope you understand what I mean.

The cabin with the closest siblings in my opinion
I feel like Mr. D would only have 2-4 demigods at a time
So that leads to them being super close
They all tend to have the same features of curly hair and purple eyes
A dead giveaway to who is their parent
They would all tend to be on the bigger side
Not that they are not strong, they are 
But they would not have the typical Greek god look
Their beauty would be intoxicating though
Like the type of beauty where it’s obvious god is real because it’s not fair
Best hair in camp tbh
Also, Mr. D claiming them would be totally different from his usual trick with demigods and trying to get wine
Just straight up points at them and announces that they are his spawn 
Some are the typical party-lover extroverts who can make friends with anyone and everyone
Then there are the theatre lovers introverts who have a close group of friends but when it comes time for the play of the summer they give the best performance that the camp would ever see
Mr. D def makes the camp do plays
He is the god of wine and theatre and can’t have wine
Would force the campers to do theatre to make them just as unhappy as he is
Big English teacher making students read Shakespeare vibes from him
Not Drama teacher vibes
But no matter what kind of kid they are, they would totally memorize Hamilton to spit the Hermes cabin
Because Hermes is Lin-Manuel Miranda 
They are rolling with the LGBT+
Whether queer themselves or the biggest ally ever
They are also the campers who give the best advice and the type of friends who are always the go-to shoulder to cry on
They are the Camp therapists. Let's be real
I feel like they would get along best with the Demeter, Apollo, and Aphrodite cabins
They have the best relationship with their godly parent
Because no one can convince me that Dionysus doesn’t love his children 
I feel like they would either have a horrible sense of direction or the best because of Ariadne
Addiction gene goes hard
Might not be to a substance, but they all definitely have that one thing they can’t live without
Especially have one drink that they love
I like to think that they all have a thirst that can’t be quenched unless it’s with that one drink
Also, they have the best or worst palates ever
Like that one person who only eats chicken nuggets and fries or the one who will eat everything and be a snob about it
They are cat people, not dog
Would definitely be responsible for the export of Strawberries 
Bec even if the Demeter cabins help, when a Dionysus kid grows the strawberries it is hard to stop eating them
The most unserious counsellors in camp
Would definitely take a bribe not to report something 
Because their dad ain't going to do shit in punishing them
Chiron might tho
Also, the worst people to play cards with
They def cheat and win 
But if they are not winning they become the biggest sore losers 
Uno is banned in the cabin for sure
Dionysus demigods are the best for the reason of not having daddy issues in a camp where everyone has daddy issues in some way
They can’t shit-talk their dad
He’s right there
I also think most of them get to camp at a young age and are probably not year around campers
But the ones who are year around make sure that camp, during the off-season, is hospitable 
Would probably team up with the Hermes cabin to sneak in movies and mortal world media 
They plan the best parties for the campers
They are the type to join a cult and end up becoming the leader
Dionysus campers are often overlooked but I just feel like they would be the backbone of camp

[Sponsored by @tar-baphon. Orcus is one of the iconic D&D villains, and through the SRD and plausible deniability (he's a Roman god!), he's in Pathfinder as well. In Pathfinder, he is deliberately not a power player, and my flavor text takes that already metatextual decision and runs hog wild with it.
A note on the art: I feel like Orcus is emblematic of when D&D was seen as dangerous, and this piece absolutely feels like it should be the cover of a Black Sabbath album. It's no surprise that I was fascinated with the anti-D&D strain of the Satanic Panic when I was a kid. Also, although there has been some course correction in the 5e era, there's a trend with Orcus in a lot of art, including his official Pathfinder depiction, of making Orcus buff. Let Orcus be fat!]

Orcus is one of the most powerful demon lords in the Universe. But not on Golarion. On that world, his is one of a number of undead cults, and not nearly the most popular. Orcus has a clear hierarchy to what undead he considers truly worthy, with those created from contagion seen as inferior to accident, and those inferior to those who intentionally seek out undeath. His most dedicated worshippers on Golarion are liches, some of whom have learned the secret of crafting a phylactery by teasing apart the Prince of Undeath’s wisdom from his threats. The followers of many other undead-focused religions, particularly vampires and ghouls, see Orcus as pretentious and unworthy of dedication, although few are foolish enough to directly oppose him.
Orcus himself knows that his star has fallen. In his extensive research into planar lore, Orcus has learned that he was once the most feared being in another universe, who went on a killing spree that left several gods dead and an entire race of lawful outsiders duped into being his pawns. That Orcus cannot accomplish this level of power in this version of reality vexes and frustrates him, and he takes his rage out on his minions as much as he does his foes.
Orcus is a genius tactician, although his temper sometimes gets the better of him. He enjoys combat as a distraction from his cosmic-level sulk, and as a way of expressing his power over others. He typically opens combat with a time stop to summon allies and cast defensive spells on himself, and then unleashes a potent death effect as soon as the duration expires. Against creatures that can resist his negative energy and poison, he uses dispelling magic. On more than one occasion, Orcus has beaten a cocky archmage to a pulp by centering an antimagic field on himself and wading into combat.
Orcus in the Great Game Orcus’ response to the brewing theomachy between Mormo and Lamashtu is cautious optimism. He desires more power in the Abyss, and Lamashtu could open the door for him to seize it. Kabriri and Zura are at the top of Orcus’ hit list, but views a direct assault on them as currently too risky to be worth the effort. If one of them were to make a move against Lamashtu and be punished for it, or if they were struck down in the scramble for power following Lamashtu’s (theoretical) demotion or demise, Orcus would happily swoop in to finish them off.  And if Mormo is capable of legitimately slaying a god, Orcus will be very keen to study her techniques.

Greek Mythology PSA
As much as I love Achilles and Patroclus from TSOA: Achilles is NOT someone to idolize.
The story of Troilus was an extreme reason: when he turned 20, he would supposedly touch the wall of Troy and it would save this. Athena told Achilles this and he went to ambushed Troilus by the well, in fact pulling him by the hair off his horse.
But Troilus was extremely beautiful- so much so that he was said to be the child of Apollo. Achilles was overcome with lust and tried to make advances.
Troilus escaped his grasp and ran to his fathers temple for shelter. There Achilles caught him again, had his way, and beheaded him.
ACHILLES WAS A GROWN MAN AND TROILUS WAS SAID TO BE A CHILD, MOST SPECULATED TO BE AROUND 12.
Was he a great warrior? Yeah. Was he a murder, r**ist, and p3do? Also yes.
Why are there so little stories about Apollo and Hyacinthus?

When you get claimed, there are a bunch of cheers and impromptu fireworks from your half-siblings. You watch some unfortunate individuals near your siblings jump feet in the air with hands flying to their ears, and some people diving for the ground. 
When you get introduced to your new living arrangement, there is a spillover from the Cabin and the Forge & Armoury; where there are just random parts in the Cabin and cots and bedrolls next to the Furnaces. You didn’t know where the living quarters or the forges began and ended. 
There is an initiation at your cabin where you introduce yourself to your cabin mates with your craft. It could’ve been the first craft you ever made, your favourite invention, or make it an entirely new thing. 
You get your own little workspace and for some hint of cohesion, your workspace is assigned a category; based on your craft. If you’re an engineer, you’re put with the other engineers. If you’re an artisan, you’re put with the other artisans. 
You’re constantly surrounded by people sharing their ideas or inputting, even at dinner and during bed times. But careful saying which stuff out loud lest you get a complaint from Chiron when you and your siblings have a debate on the best way to make something.
Because of the furnaces, you are shown how to keep the furnaces running when it's technically bedtime; one the exceptions given to your cabin for curfew.  Because even though they have magical means, you can’t let the furnaces die out or you have to spend three days heating up the kiln all over again. And no, you’re not allowed to use Greek Fire or later, the dragon around Thalia’s tree to heat up the furnaces if they die out. Don’t ask why but all you know is the Ka-Boom incident. You can imagine why.  
A perk with being on duty is that you can stay up later than everyone else and get to sneak in some late night meals; your seniors treated you to stuff from s’mores, roasted potatoes, and other foodstuffs by using the furnaces. Just don’t make too much stuff or you’re going to have a bunch of campers at your cabin asking for goodies.
Work hazards are always around and while there are preventive measures in place, things happen. These range from inventions going haywire, exploding fire, or just normal accidents. Don’t feel bad if they happen, everyone immediately jumps in to help out. You learn how to move fast and think fast. 
Being a Child of Hephaestus and being part of the cabin have their overlaps with the Athena, Apollo, and Hermes cabin.
If you don’t have the power to manipulate fire, as a child of Hephaestus you still have a higher immunity of fire and heat. Paired that up with the engineering, your cabin is also the unofficial fire station. You jumped with the fire alarm went off in the cabin and everyone got up to grab gear to put out the fires at Camp.
There were exploding multicolour lights that were going off in the air. Some were like the regular fireworks you’ve seen, but then there were fireworks that reminded you of that scene in the Lord of the Rings movie: where the fireworks seemed to not only come alive but move like they were. The smoke of gunpowder filled the air and you coughed. Fireworks were still going off as the children of Hephaestus were still cheering.
You then saw a large burky boy step forward and you knew he was one of your half-siblings. He looked very imposing but as he looked at you with a smile, all initial fear disappeared and you saw the warmth behind his smile. He then grinned at you and held out his hand, “I hope you liked the fireworks, we do this all the time when we welcome those into Cabin 9. I’m Charles Beckendorf, Cabin Counselor.”
You took his hand to shake and you instantly could feel the calluses on his hand, and how comforting warm it was. He clapped you on the back as he led you towards your cabin, as the others followed.

Riptide in PJO trailer?!?!
Okay, but can we talk about how the song "riptide" is basically a love letter to the Percy Jackson fandom? 😍 This song it literally the Percy Jackson anthem. It's like the show creators are saying, "Hey, we get you, and we're bringing your favorite demigod to life in the best way possible!"
They ate and left no crumbs. So so happy!
