Demon Slayer Marathon thoughts - Part 4

The Entertainment District is over! Yay!

I need to say this season is probably my favorite!

It has a bitter-sweet beginning, going from a sad visit at Rengoku estate to a kinda ridiculous Tengen's first full appearance, then going to the funny start in Entertainment District and going smoothly into the BIG FIGHT

BUT

The thing I most adore is Tengen and his wives! I don't know what's in it, but I simply love to watch them interact! He can scold boys hard, only to cut it off to be gentle with his girls... I am sucker for such a good working relationships... ahhhhh! ♥

Of course, I can't forget the BIG FIGHT, which is WILD and beautifully animated! It's just so flashy, and I honestly love the fact it was two demons and there was a need to behead them both at once.

The Upper Moons were actually kinda interesting... AND DOUMA SHOWED UP FOR A MOMENT!

YES. Deffinitly my fav season.

Time to put on the blindfold and go to Swordsmith Village!

Okay so I am JUST getting around to being able to watch the rest of demon slayer season two in the english dub and I've gotta ask: Am I the only one who noticed that when daki&gyutaro are speaking while in belt mode that they have a british accent???? Finished kimetsu no yaiba season 2.

My overall thoughts about the series is: it's good. Of course it's still a shonen anime and it ain't perfect, but it knows what it's doing and does it well.

The first episode actually gave me very low expectations because of a couple of shots that lingered a bit too long. My worry there coming from anime like season 2 of One Punch Man where they noticeably loweres the quality of the animation and jusr hoping it wasn't the case here.

But I can genuenly confirm that it was to save for the grand finale of the last like, I wanna say 5 episodes, even thought it's 11 total, because it really showed to use the budget to have grandiose visuals that genuenly escalated more and more as the show went on.

There were times where me my mom and I genuenly thought all was lost. And that's great. Like, we both knew "of course they won't die" because we know narrative structures, but the suspension of desbelief that was created THROUGH the emotions that the show was giving us was simply stellar. Not to mention even the fact that it left us genuenly wanting to see what happened next for like 6 episodes in a row. It knew what it was doing and it did it well.

The climactic scenes of the last fight were sublime and I swear, I need to see them in HD to even comprehend how much was going on animation and coreography wise.

My one hope for the stupid haikyuu movies coming out is that they make bank and then they decide to continue the anime like what happened to Demon Slayer.

something I really love is Kanao’s growth throughout demon slayer it makes me really happy to see and it makes me wonder if her arc is meant to be like a flower coming into bloom considering she uses flower breathing. Breathing styles on the whole are really connected to each character’s personality-- like how jumpy Zenitsu is with lightning, and when he’s asleep it reminds me of thunder, slow and deep booming like how he’s more calculated or whatever. Same with pretty much any of them. Kanao reminds me of a flower a lot-- at first she’s just budding, closed in on herself and not very willing to open. Then when Tanjiro, the sun and rain since he uses both sun and water breathing, comes into her life, she blooms and starts to open up, showing her colours that hid underneath. It’s really nice to see her expressing more as the series goes on and whatnot, it makes me really happy she’s a really sweet girl.
