i wonder if this new attitude stems from "nerd" and fandom things becoming more popular to the point where- for a lack of better term- "normies" are participating in fandom way more now but still carry their negative and superficial attitude towards the hobby like, fandom is the popular thing so they're participating, but they still have to distance themselves in some way to show that they're not one of "those nerds". "I'm a cool nerd, not one of those geeky nerds that cares too much about this gross weird hobby"

i wouldn’t be at all surprised if that was at least part of it. fandom used to be a place the outsiders, weirdoes and “freaks” made for themselves, but it now feels like current fans are so worried about appearing cool and respectable and “normal” to outsiders that they’re not only doing everything they can to set themselves apart from the “freaks”, but are also doing everything they can to actively push those people out of fandom. they come into spaces built by “freaks” (*cough*AO3*cough*) and then demand the “freaks” leave and make a new place for themselves. (edit: and then will follow them there and again demand that they leave)

spoiler alert to those people though: none of us in fandom are cool

Anyway the session ended up being just one chapter but was a long one and one with relatively lot to talk about so I dont regret it. And despite disliking the direction Asagi might take in the future? This chapter was REALLY fun, between Komi-san haunting Asagi, how Asagi was basically the protagonist of the episode and seeing all her struggle. I even loved how when the class was watching Asagi going “pah” at the front were Najimi and Tadano! WOuld have been glorious they knowledge “is this Komi-san doing something?” But I guess that was too much.

An overall FUN chapter... that ends labeling a character I want to love in a light SO BAD it gave me mood whiplash... TO SAY THE FUCKING LEAST!

Hopefully my mood will be fine for more Komi-san tonight, otherwise we put a break on it to go back camping for the weekend... sorta (will probably elaborate during next week’s schedule)

After this years Jellicle Ball, Munkustrap has barely been getting any sleep— choosing instead to overwork himself into an early grave. Tugger makes it his personal mission to put the Jellicle Protector to sleep.

Coricopat and Tantomile’s abilities did not work the way most cats assumed. Their powers were not an exact thing, but an imprecise talent. A talent the twins had learned and cultivated over time into an art that seemed, to the untrained eye, to be a definite. And a talent that Coricopat had come to rely on to navigate the trickier parts of their world.

So it would go without saying that he was kind of thrown for a loop when he found himself unable to use said ability.

it’s just such weird entitlement? like who strolls into a place built by other people - and run in a certain way - and declares it theirs and demands everyone who was there before them leaves?? if they so badly want a place of their own that they can run however they see fit, they should build one - that’s what the people at ao3 did!
