EXIDENT - Dennis Lloyd

This EP is soooo fucking good and too accurate. It depicts what actual human relationships are. I liked the songs because of beats, continued listening for this man's amazing vocals and discovered the real beauty in the lyrics. Just gonna break it down little by little. Listen in the order, I am listing songs below. This is kind of like a letter.

1. Introduction (you can skip it cause this is what he says in Spanish) : “I remember the times with you. The good times, the bad times. I’m sorry for what I’m about to say. I love you. Forgive me.”

2. Never Go back : This is about the feeling when everything is going good on the surface but something is off. You let the small things slide which then burst out like a volcano and you accept that not everything is perfect.

"Always look around girl

Tryna see the good things"

He says that he is always trying to look for the good things even when everything is in shambles.

"I wanna leave you, wanna leave you

But I can't let go (I can't do it)"

And this, this feeling of weakness (or it is strength?). He says that he wants to leave but he just can't do it. He just cannot.

3. GFY : "Go Fuck Yourself". In the heat of the moment you sometimes say things which you don't actually mean. This is about that feeling. He is trying to convey that you can say a lot of shit but you can't take it back. And and and, this song has an awesome interlude. Ain't gonna write it here, it's better you listen along with the song.

4. Aura : This song is about when you realize things have gone downhill and cannot be mended. So you start thinking what exactly turned it upside down. But you see, it doesn't matter as he says :

“I’m on my own, I’m better alone

Now that you’re gone, I feel alive.”

This is what matters. The reasons aren't gonna give you closure. This feeling is what you need to focus on.

5. Runaway : And this about the last phase. Moving on is hard but doable.

The name of the EP, "Exident" is actually "Accident", and you know why is it spelt that way.
