Short Kdramas/Drama Special/Web Drama
Part 3
These dramas happen when nothing I watch grabs me or when I'm too exhausted for long dramas and when I just need something where I could just relax and smile.
Part 1 / Part 2
BingGoo
Tumblr media
Bing Goo is a fantasy drama about a man named Go Man Soo (Kim Jung Hyun) who lives in the 70s. His world revolves around the woman he loves Yoo Shin Young (Cha Joo Young), who is very ill. One fateful night, his body is frozen for 37 years. When he wakes up he's in the year 2016 and meets Ha Da (Han Sun Hwa) who will help him face reality.
Time travel is one of my favourite plots so I was excited when I found this drama. And I'm glad I found it because I loved it.
To. Jenny
Tumblr media
To. Jenny is a music drama about a young man who expresses his unrequited first love for a girl through music and a young woman who chases after her dream despite a harsh situation.
This drama is so good. I loved Park Jung-min, who is adorable and so ordinary but turns into a completely different person when he shows his love for music. We'll be rooting for him till the end and craving for more.
I loved his younger sister who gave him dating advice and his supportive friends.
I also loved the songs in this little drama. They are definitely the highlight.
Unfortunately, the two hours of episodes are not enough for the closure I desired. I needed more episodes with these characters.
Breakup Probation, a Week
Tumblr media
After breaking up with her boyfriend Seo Jae (Hyun Woo), Ga Ram (Kwon Yu Ri) has an accident and dies. A man tells her that her boyfriend tried to save her and is in a coma. He gives her a second chance to go back in time and stop Seo Jae but she only has a week to break up with him.
It's 10 half hour episodes of a fairly enjoyable but heartbreaking drama. The story is nice although a bit predictable. The pace is slow but shine through the multiple flashbacks.
The lead actors were very good and the chemistry is quite sweet. As always Hyun Woo looks like an adorable little puppy.
Kang Deoksun's Love Story
Tumblr media
Drama Special KBS2 of 1 episode of 1h and 10 Min. It is set in the year 1926 and is about Deoksun (Kim So Hye) and her personal growth and new friendships.
I really enjoyed the story of the innocent little girl who learns to write and grow as a person. And I was glad that she chose the future she wanted.
Be Positive
Tumblr media
Hwan Dong (D.O.) is a film major and has a project to hand in for his graduation but encounters quite a few difficulties and obstacles. He asks his ex-girlfriend Hye-jung (Chae Seo-Jin) to play the main role in his production.
As I'm a D.O. fan I probably enjoyed this little drama a lot more than it deserves. As it only has 6 episodes of about 10 minutes it's not very substantial but it's quite enjoyable and has quite a positive message for youth.
Soundtrack #1
Tumblr media
Sun Woo (Park Hyung Sik) and Eun Soo (Ha So Hee) have been friends for 20 years and support each other. Sun Woo has been in love with her for 8 years but in order not to damage that friendship he never confesses his love, until the day they have to live together for a few days.
If you like friends to lovers stories you will love this short drama of 4 episodes of 45 minutes each. As soon as I heard that this drama was available I immediately went to check it out, mainly because I wanted more of Park Hyung Sik after having seen (and loved) him in the drama Happiness. And I must say that I was very satisfied with the drama and I even wish I had seen more episodes and could have gotten to know the characters better.
Eun Soo and Sun Woo together - it was hard for me to accept this relationship, firstly because I'm not a big fan of Han So Hee, secondly because after Happiness, the only girl I wanted to see with PHS was Han Hyo Joo. 😅 But overall, I came to appreciate the two of them together, especially during the scenes of them playing house.
Traces of Love
Tumblr media
It's about Ju Yeong (Lee Yoo Young), a strong, independent woman who still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend Ji Sub (Lee Sang Yeob), who she broke up with three years ago. One day, Ji Sub shows up as the new hire in her office and she will have to see him every day.
This one-hour short drama is reminiscent of one of my favourite short dramas - You Drive me Crazy - with the same actress. The only cons is Ju Yeong's personality, who struck me as a bit self-centred and unreasonable. On the other hand, Lee Sang Yeob is always a treat to the eyes with his soothing charm.
Be My Boyfriend
Tumblr media
It's about a quiet boy, Lee Seung-Min (Shin Hyun Seung) and the most popular girl in school, Oh Ji-na (Lee Si-woo) who start a fake relationship.
Another web drama of 15 episodes of 13 minutes each. It's a teen romance with a fairly predictable but enjoyable plot and a cute couple. I loved the fact that it's about a contract relationship and that's what made me want to go see this show.
Let Us Meet
Tumblr media
Another Drama Special KBS2 of 1 episode of 1h and 10 Min. It is set in the year 1937 and is about Soo Ji (Jo Bo Ah), a countryside girl who goes to a marriage agency run by Joo Oh (Son Ho Jun) to marry a rich man. Review here
XX
Tumblr media
XX is a ten episode web drama, with each episode running for only twenty-five minutes. It's about a renowned bartender named Yoon Na Na (Hani) who is the head bartender of XX bar. Her initial goal was to save up and buy XX, but the owner suddenly sells it to Lee Roo Mi (Hwang Seung Eon), who was Na Na's best friend in college but betrayed her.
We have a friends to lovers romance, a best friend who is awesome and reconciliation with the past.
Honestly, I didn't care much for the romance between Na Na and Danny although I really enjoyed seeing Bae In-hyuk in that role and it was a sweet romance. The best part were really the rivalry between the two friends. Hani and Hwang Seung-eon have good chemistry together and it was a pleasure to see their dynamic because they both had strong personalities. I loved every moment of the story because it felt refreshing and intriguing all the way.

thoughts frm yuya 💭 this was definitelyyyy based off that one scene from reply 1988 where taek and deoksun get stranded at the beach bc that's my comfort drama ^^ also thank you to my pookie @wonfilms for helping me conjure this up at 2 am, wrote this for u elle fr ><
Tumblr media
“This is all your fault!” you cried out while slightly pushing Jungwon to the side (to which his stance sadly did not falter). To give some context, Jungwon had stupidly convinced you to stay just a little bit longer at the beach in hopes to find a few more seashells he could keep as souveniers. Which then resulted in you two missing the bus back home, meaning you would have to wait for next bus. Unfortunately said bus would only come at 8pm that night, meaning you had around 3 hours to kill.
“Hey! It’s not that bad. At least we got cute seashells,” Jungwon defended as you two walked away from the bus stop defeatedly “, and I’d say three hours goes by quick if you have fun!” You turned to his face which had a grin plastered across to accompany his hopelessly optimistic attitude.
“Yeah and how do you suppose we do that, we already did like 99% of the activities they have to do at this place.” you grumbled whilst kicking at small pebbles in your way as you walked
“Uh well…” Jungwon said before scanning around the boardwalk to see if there were any shops that you’d haven’t been to yet. Suddenly catching something from the corner of his eye his head perked up before exclaiming “Hey shaved ice! We haven’t had that yet, and besides you need a refreshment.”
“I guess…” you grumbled under your breath before Jungwon started forcefully dragging your body to the shaved ice shop. Eyes glistening with hope and steps fueled with determination.
“Hello! Uhm could we have two orders of shaved ice: one mango and one strawberry! Oh um both small sizes please, thank you.” you envied how no matter the situation, Jungwon’s voice always managed to come out calm and cheery. You also always caught onto how Jungwon knew your favourite flavours by heart, despite never telling him outwardly how much you loved mangos.
Shaved ice in hand you both made your way down near the sand to sit and watch the waves. Jungwon had mentioned earlier he hoped to catch the sunset with you before leaving, guess he got his wish you thought to yourself. You both sat in a comfortable silence while enjoying your desserts, letting the gentle sounds of the waves fill your ears.
“Hey is yours any good?” Jungwon asked breaking the silence
“Oh, yeah it’s good!” you said before scooping out a spoon of shaved ice for yourself. However before you could get to even enjoying the sweet treat Jungwon’s head dipped down and stole the bite you had crafted for himself, smirking before responding with a sly “Hm, it is good.”
You nudged him slightly before whining out “Hey, that bite was for me!”
In response Jungwon scooped out a spoonful of his shaved ice; moving the spoon closer to your mouth with a hand under to catch anything that might fall, uttering a small and simple “ahh”
Despite the blush forming across your cheeks you moved your head forward to accept his offer, the sweet strawberry flavour melting on your mouth leaving you with a satisfied smile. You have to admit, shaved ice wasn’t a horrible idea. Leaning back into your chair you sighed out, eyes wandering to the oceans waves moving back and forth with the tide, a gentle smile forming across you face. One that Jungwon seemed to notice.
“What’s on your mind hm?” he asked before spooning a mouthful of shaved ice into his mouth and tilting his head to face you. How did he always catch on to the small things?
“Hm? Oh nothing, just you know-” you answered while poking at your somewhat melted dessert “this is, nice…”
“Told you so.” Jungwon joked with a smug grin, elbowing you playfully.
“Nevermind, I take it all back, worst idea ever.” you deadpanned before turning away from him slightly.
“Kidding kidding!” he said whilst wrapping his hand around you wrist to pull you closer. God he had to stop making your heart flutter.
Suddenly a huge gust of wind blew in your direction, the bitter cold causing shivers to run down your body. Immediately your hands reached to your sides to rub them and hopefully generate some warmth, which Jungwon once again seemed to notice.
Without a word he unzipped his jacket and draped it over your shoulders. Looking up in startled, you cocked your head to the side with a confused look glazing your eyes. He simply flashed a small knowing smile in response, was his smile always this pretty?
As the sun set darkness quickly engulfed the beach which led you two to heading into a small restaurant to enjoy a warm bowl of hot pot. You sat peacefully enjoying your warm bowl of soup whilst jungwon poured a bit more into your bowl. Glancing up you muttered out a small thank you in between bites.
Shortly after the old woman who had been serving your table and running the restaurant came up to you two asking “Would you and your girlfriend like more soup?”
You choked slightly on your fishcake before rushing to deny that you two were dating, however Jungwon seemed to be quicker.
“No we’re just finishing up! Thank you though, must be hard running this place yourself” he replied politely
“Oh it’s no trouble! What a gentleman you are, I’ll go and get your check then. You kids enjoy the meal” she cooed before heading off to the back.
You stared at Jungwon with puzzled eyes and mouth slightly agape before uttering “Girlfriend?”
“No point in correcting her right? Eat, eat…” he responded nonchalantly before spooning the remaining bits of fishcake into your bowl. What did he mean by that? You tried to brush it off and continued eating, but you couldn’t lie that it remained in the back of your mind even while riding the bus back home.
“I mean there kinda was a point.” you said out of the blue, obviously throwing Jungwon off guard a bit.
“Hm, what do you mean?” his face resembling confused kitten as he tilted his head to the side
“I mean, we aren’t dating. So there kinda was a point in correcting her” you reached for the hem of your skirt twiddling with it slightly.
“I mean we might as well be right?” Jungwon answered before lacing your hand with his. A bright blush formed across your face when you registered what he just said. What?
“So does that mean…” you asked expectantly, trailing off as you were too embarrassed to finish your question.
“It means exactly what you think it means.” Jungwon replied before pressing a gentle kiss to the back of your hand “Why’d you think I made you stay and collect seashells? Obviously I don’t like seashells that much YN, I just wanted to keep hanging out with you.”
“Well it worked, today was great” you giggled out before yawning
“Are you sleepy?” Jungwon questioned attentively
“Hm just a bit…” you commented, feeling your eyelids begin to become heavier.
Before you could do anything Jungwon moved your head to rest on his shoulder before muttering a small “Sleep on me, I don’t mind”
You happily accepted his request, before drifting off into a peaceful slumber. A smile painted across your face, a smile you trusted you could always have with Jungwon.
Maybe missing the bus was worth it

Spring had settled, the snow all but an unpleasant memory. The chill to the air still hung heavy in the early hours of the morning, but by early afternoon the sun had warmed the air. You would be a liar if you said you weren’t curious how Spring looked in the Empire, just how different did it feel compared to your timeline? Everything felt different compared to where you were supposed to be. But maybe that’s nothing unusual. You weren’t even sure if this was a different timeline. What if it was a whole different universe? Or, the easiest theory to stomach, a coma dream. Maybe none of this was real and you were in a hospital bed, drugged out of your mind, and having crazy dreams.
The last option seemed the most likely, and the most comforting.
Still, you were desperate to find out what exactly was going on. You needed answers and a way home. Returning back home (if it was even possible) was your number one priority. Whatever you returned to didn’t matter, anything would be better than whatever the fuck was going on here. Asking Deoksun for help had been awkward. You couldn’t tell her exactly what was going on, as much as you love the girl, you couldn't risk her running back to Namjoon and confirming his suspicions that you were in fact a witch. Who would believe you? How could you explain that an attempted suicide had landed you here? Wherever you are. You know damn well you wouldn’t believe it.
You had asked Deoksun if she knew of anyone who was able to read futures, read palms– anything of the sort. She had eyed you with as much suspicion as you had assumed she would. She had a few questions, all of which you were eager to answer, telling as much truth as you could without letting her know too much. You had explained you wanted to know your future, was marrying Prince Seokjin a good choice? What was life going to look like if you agreed? The maid had eyed you up and down, her nose scrunched up before she had shaken her head and told you she didn’t know anyone who was able to do such things, but she would look into it. That had been some weeks ago, and you hadn’t heard any news on the subject since. You didn’t want to push her, but what if she had forgotten?
You had officially been here for just over two months. Namjoon had kept you isolated from himself, and his brothers. You were still stuck with the company of the old toad, your teacher, and sweet Deoksun. You loved the maid, but she was still just a child. She wasn’t a person you could confide in. So you have taken up journaling. It has been therapeutic, helping you get all your lingering thoughts out of your mind. Of course, you had been careful with what you had written, just to be safe. You couldn’t risk someone reading anything.
The last two months had been incredibly lonely. Usually, you didn’t mind your own company, back home you had even relished in it. Now you realize, that without modern-day technology, you were most definitely not built to be alone. But, you were certain this was Namjoon’s plan. You wanted you alone, isolated. If he could get you desperate enough for human contact, maybe you would give him whatever information he was so desperate for. But what could you even say? You had told him the truth, and lying wasn’t an option. Agreeing to his suspicions was out of the question. A shiver ran up your spine at the thought of admitting to witchcraft, even if it was a lie. What would he do?
The princes still sent small notes to your room, some nights you heard them by your door, pacing before slipping envelopes under the door. At first, you had ignored the letters, throwing them into the fireplace unopened. You would watch the fire eat away their words, a sense of satisfaction in your chest. But as weeks went by and loneliness began to eat away at you, burning their letters no longer gave you any satisfaction. You had begun to read their notes and letters, but you never responded. A small pathetic part of you was relieved they hadn’t forgotten you yet, that they still thought of you. It made you feel a little less lonely.
How pathetic.
Namjoon still allowed you to go outside twice a week, always accompanied. You had been assigned a regular guard, a man roughly your age, named Wonwoo. He was tall, quiet, and handsome. Wonwoo took his job seriously, never letting you stray too far. He kept you at arm's length at all times. You assumed Namjoon gave him details on what everyone's schedules were, seeing as most days he avoided going to certain areas of the palace. You had yet to run into the princes yet. You couldn’t help but feel a teeny tiny bit thankful toward Namjoon for the effort, he may think it was a punishment but in all honesty, you didn’t want to see them as much as Namjoon didn’t want to see you. It worked in your favor.
Deoksun hadn’t accompanied you on your morning walk, which was a first. When Wonwoo arrived at your door, the young girl missing from his side, it almost had you declining your only form of ‘freedom’. The guard had given you a deadpan look, arms crossed over his wide chest as he looked down on you.
“I’m a busy man, Lady Kim. I have far better things to do with my time, so please, make a decision.”
The bitter bite to his words had your pettiness bubble over. You may not want to go, but you’ll put on your big girl pants and be off. If it would piss off the man, you would be damned if you declined.
Huffing, hiking your poofy hanbok into your hands you shoved passed the man, marching down the hall. The Palace which had once felt like an unfamiliar maze was slowly becoming familiar. Maybe not the entire building, but the halls that you needed to know were engraved into your brain at this point. Every outing started on the same route, with a few changes depending on the Prince's schedule.
Your door slammed shut, heavy footsteps thundering behind you until your guard was at the same pace he always was. In the beginning, you had hoped to form a friendship with the man, desperation clinging to you heavily. You had tried everything you could to get the man to conversate with you, and every time he brushed you off. You were nothing more than a nuisance to the man. You had learned that quickly. You had also quickly learned he was easily irritated, often biting his tongue to hold back scolding you for running off or being too loud. So on the days he seemed particularly pissed off with your existence, you made sure to do everything you could to worsen his mood. You had very few joys in this life, you’d be damned if you didn’t take advantage of annoying an unnecessarily attractive, moody guard.
“Lady Kim, please stay close.” Wonwoo groaned, his pace picking up.
You ignored the man's begging, your steps picking up speed. The sun was out surprisingly early, reflecting off the dewy grass. It had rained heavily the night before, leaving the grass soaked through., and the earth mushy. You missed your boots. The hem of your dress was caked with mud, and for a moment you felt guilty. It was such a pretty outfit, and you had ruined it within only two hours of putting it on. Deoksun was going to be so upset with you.
The stables come into view, and your excitement picks up. Deoksun and Wonwoo had shown you the horse stables two weeks before, introducing you to the giant horses bred for battle. You had never seen horses so large before. Deoksun had been so excited to show you the beasts, that even Wonwoo had a little pep in his step. But your attention had been ripped away when your eyes landed on the fattest cat you had ever seen! The tabby was waddling toward the stables, its stomach bulging at the sides. You could have cried in delight. Deoksun had quickly explained the tabby was the pest control for the stables, her name was ‘Cat’, so very creative. She also happened to be heavily pregnant, hence the roundness. You had quickly befriended the cat, surprised with how friendly she was. You had honestly expected her to be feral.
Since then, you had begged to visit the stables in the hope of kittens. You had even snuck some chicken and other meats into your sleeves to bring along to bribe the cat to be your friend, and it had been working. Unfortunately, you didn’t have any leftovers for your new friend. You were a little worried she wouldn’t like you as much without the treats.
As you reached the back entrance of the stables, you made a beeline for where Cat had been setting up her nesting spot. She had been a little thief, stealing cloths and other soft things from the palace to make her birthing place as comfortable as possible. You had even brought along a blanket from your room to give to the sweet girl.
Your excitement quickly disappeared at the sight of a trail of blood leading to where Cat was nesting. Your stomach tightened, that was too much blood to be from birthing. You turned on your heel, bumping into Wonwoo’s chest. The man grunted, his back going rigid.
He stepped around you, following the trail stopping at the pile of loose straw and bedding that you had helped the animal build up over the last few visits. The poor cat had been torn to shreds, by what he could only assume was a dog. It looked like the babies had been eaten, considering there weren't any of their bodies around. He knew the cat had given birth a few days after the Lady’s last visit, but she wasn’t aware. Deoksun had wanted to surprise her.
Wonwoo signed, rubbing his hand over his face. The poor girl was going to be devastated, he couldn’t let her see the gory scene. Making his way back to where he had left the Lady, he frowned, finding the space now empty. Wonwoo felt his heart rate accelerate. If he lost the damned woman, he would lose his head– and he was quite happy with his head where it was!
“Put it down.” You shrieked.
Wonwoo felt his bones nearly melt in relief at the sound of his Lady’s voice. Quickly, the guard took off toward the direction her voice had sounded from. He found the woman at the front entry of the stable, one hand on her hip while the other pointed toward a man's back.
“I said, put it down!” She hissed, crouching down to pick up a small stone.
Wonwoo eyed the man’s back, his brain working overtime trying to figure out how–why– a man's back was so familiar to him. His eyes widened, scrambling to grab your arm as you pulled back, but he was too slow. The stone had left your palm, soaring a short distance before hitting the man in the back of the head.
The man spun on his heel, eyes narrowed with unfiltered rage.
Prince Min Yoongi, future Emperor.
Yoongi had skipped his morning engagements. Meeting women of noble clans wasn’t exactly the way Yoongi had wanted to spend his morning. Families he couldn’t remember tripping over themselves to catch his attention, begging for their daughter to be the next Empress. It was embarrassing, honestly. Instead, he decided to take Taehyung and Jeongguk's dogs out with him. By order of the Emperor, Yoongi wasn’t supposed to go anywhere alone. Guards were always supposed to be flanking him. But sometimes, a man just needed his own space. The dogs were trained just as well as any royal guard– they were also excellent hunters. Unfortunately, they weren’t always the best listeners. His brothers were far too lenient on the mutts.
He had honestly tried to rein them in when they had spotted the tabby cat trying to sneak its way back into the stables. But they were Poongsan’s, famous Korean hunting dogs. What was he supposed to do? Stop their instincts? If he could act on his own, so could the dogs. Yoongi had hung back, listening to the dog's joyful barking and the cat's pained screeching. It was over quickly, for him at least. But to his surprise, one of the dogs returned with a tiny tiny kitten hanging from its mouth, unscathed. He plucked the tiny thing from the dog's mouth, holding it up to inspect it. It was tiny. Yoongi wasn’t sure if he had ever seen a living thing quite this small.
It was all black except for a tiny white spot between its nose and mouth. The closer he inspected it, he realized it was wounded. A small amount of its ear had been ripped off. Not enough to kill the thing, but what chances does it have without a mother?
Sighing, the prince held the tiny creature out toward the dogs, taunting them. The tiny kitten whined in his grip as he swayed it around, the dog's tails wagging as they watched eagerly. They wanted it, and he would gladly let them fight for it. As he pulled his arm back to throw the creature to the dogs a loud voice caught him off guard.
He turned, raising a scarred brow to the woman. He hadn’t seen her before, but judging from her attire, she was well off. His best guess was she was here to be introduced to him, a prospective bride. She was certainly pretty, but what drew him in was the rage in her eyes. The woman looked positively murderous. Her chest heaved in anger, her hand shaking as she pointed to the rat-like creature in his hand.
“What, this thing?” He questioned innocently, looking down at the newly lowered kitten. He pursed his lips. “No, I don’t think I will.” He grinned, turning back to the dogs that had begun to whine.
The woman let out a sound of anger. Yoongi could practically feel the heat radiating from her body from the few feet away she stood. He could hear her shifting behind him, getting slightly closer, only to freeze when the dogs growled at her.
“My dogs are hungry.” He shrugged, glancing over his shoulder and giving her a lazy smile. Turning back to the dogs he waved the cat around again, reigniting the dog's excitement
“I said, put it down!” She hissed.
A new set of footsteps had caught Yoongi’s attention, but he didn’t bother to look toward it. His heart was beating erratically, a new emotion he wasn’t familiar with pulsing through his veins. It felt similar to excitement, but the word didn’t sit quite right. This wasn’t excitement, thrilling absolutely, but that wasn’t right either. He wasn’t sure there was a word to describe whatever it was that he was feeling. Whatever it is, he wasn’t sure he liked it, but fuck was he already addicted to the feeling.
Yoongi made a move to toss the animal to the dogs, but the moment his shoulders had flexed, the woman seemed to have noticed. Something hard hit the back of his head, a soft thud. It didn’t hurt, but anger filled his veins. In all his years, not a single person (besides maybe his brothers or father) had ever disrespected him in such a way. Who in their right mind throws something at a prince? Let alone their future Emperor.
Yoongi felt possessed, his body moving on his own accord. Soon he stood only inches away from the woman, who only stared back with a hard glare. He could see the way her body trembled, she was scared despite the expression she bore.
“Do you know who I am?” He asked softly, his eyes burning into hers.
The woman's shoulders raised, before dropping back into place. “An ass-”
“Forgive her, your Highness! She is new to the Empire, she is still learning.” Her guard cut in, stepping in front of her, bowing deeply. He kept his gaze to the muddy grounds.
“Then allow me to educate you.” Yoongi gritted out, straightening himself up. “I am the Prince of this empire, the future Emperor, Min Yoongi.”
The woman scoffed, arms crossing over her chest. Her eyes flickers towards the kitten in his hands for a split second, relief seeming to flicker across her features before hardening once again.
“I’ve already met the Princes.” She scoffed, waving a hand around him. “You aren’t one of them.”
The guard groaned, his face paling as he straightened himself up, leaning over to the woman's ear, whispering. Yoongi strained himself trying to hear what he said, but failed. Whatever it was, the woman's face scrunched up for a moment before she turned to face the guard in disbelief.
“You mean to tell me there’s seven of them!”
You felt sick.
You had been horrified at the thought of four princes. That seemed too many, but seven? Somebody needed to castrate the Emperor right this instant.
Your body seemed to act on its own, your back bending, nearly sending you face first into the mud. You may not have had many people to be bowing to over these last few weeks, but your teacher had basically beaten it into you. Bow, bow, bow.
“My apologies, Your Highness.” You gritted out, arms crossed over your stomach.
The man snorted, his empty hand wrapping around the neat bun on top of your head. He pulled your head up into an awkward angle, forcing you to cock your neck in an awkward angle to look up at him. The man grinned, the whites of his teeth and pink of his gums on display. He looked cute, almost childish, and you hated yourself for thinking that. But even you could admit that he was a soft looking man, even with the harsh scar over his brow and eye. It was the dark look swirling in his eyes that alerted you to the fact that this man’s looks were only there for a false sense of security.
“You don’t sound sincere at all.” He frowned, his grip tightening on the tiny kitten in his other hand.
The tiny cry of the kitten had your heart aching. It was true, you weren't apologetic at all. Not even a little bit. This lunatic was about to feed one of Cat’s babies to his dogs! How on earth were you the one having to apologize for his terrible actions?
“Please, accept my sincerest apologies, Prince Yoongi. My behavior was uncalled for, I promise you it will never happen again.” The words tasted bitter on your tongue as you forced the most sincerity into your words as you could.
Your words seemed to have worked, a new look ignited in the prince's eyes as he looked over your face.
“You promise?”
Your stomach churned at the look that flashed across the mans eyes. You weren't entirely sure what it meant, but you were smart enough to know it wasn't good. Min Yoongi set a chill in your blood, he made every cell in your body scream. You had though Prince Namjoon was a man of power, a man of danger. You didn't believe you could fear anymore more than you had feared Namjoon.
Yoongi had proved you wrong.
All you could do was stiffly nod your head, your body physically going against the action.
A grin spread across the mans pink lips, a look of pride in his eyes.
"Good girl."

I am so late but i just finished watching reply 1988 and although everything was pointing towards taek being the husband from the beginning i still wish it was jung hwan, taek and deoksun just always gave brother/sister vibes to me

Got reminded of why i hold the character of Choi Taek so close to my heart.
Episode sixteen of Reply 1988. Taek finally mustered up the courage of asking out the love of his life, only to realize that his best friend is also in love with the one he loves. He saw the way Junghwan looked at her, saw the photo of them he kept in his wallet. Yet he handed the wallet to Deoksun and asked her to return it to Junghwan. He had to win that match to confess to her and he did it. He was in a whole different country yet he made plans with her just so he can finally confess. Just to delay it all. He simply chose not to confess even when he had it all figured out. Just to help out a friend. He wanted his best friend to try and get the girl he loves. EVEN WHEN HE LOVES THE SAME GIRL SO BAD THAT BRO EVEN CRIED. WHAT IS THIS. There’s a reason why men like that only exist in fictional worlds i suppose. Or maybe that's just male friendship, if that's true, it'd be a reason to have faith in humanity.

as a writer too it pissed me off so fucking bad like there was ZERO chemistry between taek and deoksun it just seemed like she just settled and chose whoever liked her rather than who she liked like I was right there bro i KNOW who you liked and it wasn't him . it was not . u're not in your 50s u don't have to settle . and their whole relationship was like that too them just taking care of each other like when u're old and just looking to settle instead of marrying for love

I already know the endgame to Reply 1988 because I was initially avoiding the series because I’ve heard it being described as heartbreaking, emotional and a tear-jerking experience.
I’m 4 episodes in and I realise they meant it in a positive sense. 💀
It’s a truly moving show because tell me why Deoksun is getting treated as a middle child, Junghwan’s dad is getting ignored by his family and I’m the one fighting tears 😭
⚠️ SPOILERS! (In the year of our lord 2024, I was blissfully unaware of this show and it’s dynamics so if you’re too I spoil an important thing in this paragraph, LEAVE ! )
Anyway, I presumed the worst of this show before watching it thinking everyone was going to break up and go there separate ways and reconcile a little in the finale. I do not know why my mind went there seeing some random posts 💀 till my sister told me that she does end up with someone and it’s a wholesome series! She just doesn’t end up with Junghwan (he’s the male lead) and I started watching it immediately!
I’ve seen way too many shows recently where people have chemistry but they don’t end up together because people platonic relationships exists or, I’ve seen fantasy shows where one of the leads die or both do so it hasn’t been live, laugh, love in this house for a while!
I guess Reply 1988 makes up for that, they have enough love going on for everybody! I adore everyone.
What I’ve noticed up until now is that everywhere you look Junghwan is considered as the second male lead and I’m left scratching my head because I’d like to know how? 😭
He’s credited before Park Bogum, is the only person we’ve seen for the last 4 episodes through 90% of the show and we get things from his perspective???? Does that not make him the first male lead ? 😭
I was surprised because knowing the ending I assumed Bogum had an equally important character. But up until now, in these 4 episodes you only see him come and go for a few minutes. The majority of the show is focused on Junghwan, Deoksun and Sunwoo. They get to do all the main leads stuff too!
They’ve been to field trips together (loved that episode), they get alone time together, they have moments with and without the group, we see every minute interaction between them!
Taek (Bogum) is adored and just kinda exists ? Maybe he gets more and more screen time as the show progresses but if we pull up the basic characteristics of a leading man isn’t it Junghwan? 😭
All of this is alleged as of now though, I’ll re log another wonderful post I read which detailed how we see so many things from his perspective and that it isn’t really correct to call him the SML and I found myself agreeing because you don’t see most of the SML’s make decisions. They’re just there most of the time, existing and figuring things out in the limited amount of time they have.
We see Junghwan take initiative, we see his family a lot, we all find out he’s begun to like her because of the scenes that are written together and we watch him take initiative for things after noticing things with Deoksun. (the bus scene <3 )
I feel like if he was the SML he would’ve just done things without us knowing why he’s doing them lol.
I yap a lot !!! But I truly presumed that he was the second male lead in this show because people say he’s the reason they understand that syndrome but I think…. he might be one of the rare leads who doesn’t get the girl.
Not getting the girl doesn’t automatically make you the SML 😭 ???
Anyway I have like 16 episodes to go so I’ll let y’all know if I’ve done all this yapping to be wrong.

In the end, fate and timing… do not just happen by coincidence. They are the products of countless earnest choices that make up miraculous moments. Giving up and making decisions without reservation or hesitation… That is what makes timing. He wanted her more than I did.
