Haven't talked about the AU in a bit, sadly Ch.3 to Ch.5 still aren't finished. I'll still be posting them a week apart when they are, but I'm still planning on doing on all three chapters at once.

Ch.3 and Ch.4 were originally a single chapter in a previous draft, and in a way are still two halves of a double length chapter, so I HAVE to work on those together. In fact, that's the main reason why it's been taking so long. I've been redoing the pacing of this part of the story, and have to jump between the two chapters to see if what I've rewritten works.

Ch.5 focuses on the transformation itself, so it's a simpler chapter and won't take nearly as long as the other two to write. Still, I'm working on it along with the other two because it's what those chapters are building up to in the first place. Since Ch.5 takes place sometime around midnight, skipping forward by a few hours might end up breaking the pacing if it isn't done right. On top of that, while Ch.5 is definitely a horror chapter, there should also be a strong focus on Sonic's characterization. His reaction to turning into something else, and why exactly it'd terrify him. That kind of thing.

Anyway, while as usual I can't make any promises, I'm hoping to have Ch.3 up sometime next week. Depends on a handful of things, both AU related and IRL reasons, but it's been WAY too long since I've posted anything.

One scene in the film sees Emma suffer a sudden nosebleed in an emotional moment, and Taylor-Joy somehow managed to start bleeding from her nostril right on cue.

The original plan had been to cut the scene and add the fake blood under Taylor-Joy’s nose, but as she told The Guardian there was no intervention necessary.

“I didn’t know I had that talent until that scene,” said Taylor-Joy. “As soon as my nose started bleeding, [director] Autumn de Wilde and Johnny [Flynn, who played Mr Knightley] both got as excited as me. The crew were going, ‘Cut, cut!’ because they were concerned about me but us three were like: ‘What are you talking about? Keep rolling! This is unbelievable! We have to capture it on film.’”

A little Update on things.

Hey everyone! Been a while huh?

I just wanted to come on and let yall know a little of what's been going on and why it's been a bit radio silent on my end.

For some major stuff, I got a new job! It's been really amazing and I work less days for better pay. Win all around! My mental health had really plummeted while at my previous job(and because of my old job) so I'm on the path to healing. I've been exercising again, eating a little bit better, enjoying spending time with my partner, and all around just feeling so much better about my self and balancing things better.

Buuuttt my partner has had some complications with his surgery. :/ His surgery and my needing to care for him was the main reason I took this break, and why After Hours has been on Hiatus. Things have improved on one front and on another just not improved at all. As of right now, I am the breadwinner of our household, and obviously that a lot of pressure as I'm doing my best to work, and help my partner along with his healing.

So, for the time being, AH is still going to be on a bit of a hiatus. As it stands, I write when I can and that's the best I can do at the moment. It is still being worked on!! It's just gonna be a bit slow on progress.

But that's about all I got for ya. I hope you all are doing well, and that we're still as excited about After Hours as I am. <3
